| 1 | Variable Sets principle and method for flood classification显示文摘Flood classification is an effective way to improve flood forecasting accuracy. According to the opposite unity mathematical theorem in Variable Sets theory, this paper proposes a Variable Sets principle and method for flood classification, which is based on the mathematical theorem of dialectics basic laws. This newly proposed method explores a novel way to analyze and solve engineering problems by utilizing a dialectical thinking. In this paper, the Tuwei River basin, located in the Yellow River tributary, is taken as an example for flood classification. The results obtained in this study reveal the problems in a previous method—Set Pair Analysis classification method. The variable sets method is proven to be theoretically rigorous, computationally simple. The classification results are objective, accurate and consistent with the actual situations. | 2 | Sox2 enhances the tumorigenicity and chemoresistance of cancer stem-like cells derived from gastric cancer显示文摘Gastric cancer stem-like cells(GCSCs) have been identified to possess the ability of self-renewal and tumor initi-ation.However,the mechanisms involved remain largely unknown.Here,we isolated and characterized the GCSCs by side population(SP) sorting procedure and cultured sphere cells(SC) from human gastric cancer cell lines SGC-7901,BGC-823,MGC-803,HGC-27 and MKN-28.The sorting and culture assay revealed that SP cells proliferated in an asymmetric division manner.In addition,SP cells exhibited a higher potential of spheroid colony formation and greater drug resistance than non-SP cells(NSP).Moreover,the SC were found with enhanced capabilities of drug resistance in vitro and tumorigenicity in vivo.Sox2 mRNA and protein was highly and significantly overex-pressed in the SP cells and SC.Importantly,downregulation of Sox2 with siRNA obviously reduced spheroid colony formation and doxorubicin efflux,as well as increased apoptosis rate in sphere cells in vitro and suppressed tumori-genicity in vivo.These results suggest that both SP cells and cultured SC enrich with GCSCs and that Sox2 plays a pivotal role in sustaining stem cell properties and might be a potential target for gastric cancer therapy. | Tian Tian Yajie Zhang Shouyu Wang Jianwei Zhou Shan Xu | 2012 | The Journal of Biomedical Research2012,26,5: | 11 |

| 5 | LncRNAs-directed PTEN enzymatic switch governs epithelial–mesenchymal transition显示文摘Despite the structural conservation of PTEN with dual-specificity phosphatases,there have been no reports regarding the regulatory mechanisms that underlie this potential dual-phosphatase activity.Here,we report that K27-linked polyubiquitination of PTEN at lysines 66 and 80 switches its phosphoinositide/protein tyrosine phosphatase activity to protein serine/threonine phosphatase activity.Mechanistically,high glucose,TGF-β,CTGF,SHH,and IL-6 induce the expression of a long non-coding RNA,GAEA(Glucose Aroused for EMT Activation),which associates with an RNA-binding E3 ligase,MEX3C,and enhances its enzymatic activity,leading to the K27-linked polyubiquitination of PTEN.The MEX3C-catalyzed PTEN^K27-polyUb activates its protein serine/threonine phosphatase activity and inhibits its phosphatidylinositol/protein tyrosine phosphatase activity.With this altered enzymatic activity,PTEN^K27-polyUb dephosphorylates the phosphoserine/threonine residues of TWIST1,SNAI1,and YAP1,leading to accumulation of these master regulators of EMT.Animals with genetic inhibition of PTEN^K27-polyUb,by a single nucleotide mutation generated using CRISPR/Cas9(Pten^K80R/K80R),exhibit inhibition of EMT markers during mammary gland morphogenesis in pregnancy/lactation and during cutaneous wound healing processes.Our findings illustrate an unexpected paradigm in which the lncRNA-dependent switch in PTEN protein serine/threonine phosphatase activity is important for physiological homeostasis and disease development. | Qingsong Hu Chunlai Li Shouyu Wang Yajuan Li Bo Wen Yanyan Zhang Ke Liang Jun Yao Youqiong Ye Heidi Hsiao Tina K.Nguyen Peter K.Park Sergey D.Egranov David H.Hawke Jeffrey R.Marks Leng Han Mien-Chie Hung Bing Zhang Chunru Lin Liuqing Yang | 2019 | Cell Research2019,29,4: | 8 |

The rise time was about 23 ns and the full width at half maximum was about 125 ns for the open-circuit photovoltaic pulse when the La0.9Sr0.1MnO3 thin film in the p-n junction was irradiated by a laser of ~20 ns pulse duration and 308 nm wavelength. | 10 | A Comparative Study of Fish Assemblages Near Aquaculture, Artificial and Natural Habitats显示文摘Habitat plays a critical role in regulating fish community structure. Using the data collected from a monthly trammel net survey in Ma'an archipelago off the east coast of China, we evaluated impacts of five different habitats(artificial reefs, mussel farms, cage aquaculture, rocky reefs and soft bottom) on fish assemblages. This study suggests that artificial reefs(AR) have significantly higher species richness, abundance and diversity than mussel farms(MF) or soft bottom(SB) habitats during most seasons, and that fish taxa in the AR habitats are similar to those in the rocky reef(RR) habitats. Two different fish assemblage patterns were revealed in the study area using non-metric multidimensional scaling ordination: an assemblage dominated by reef fishes(especially by Scorpaenidae species) in AR, RR and cage aquaculture(CA) habitats and an assemblage dominated by Sciaenidae species in MF and SB habitats. We suggest that reef fishes play a key role in differentiating fish community structures in the study area. Although few differences in fish abundance and diversity were found between the CA and SB habitats, a more diverse age structure was observed in the CA habitats. | 12 | Effectiveness of stocking Sparus macrocephalus fry in situ in the East China Sea显示文摘The sea area surrounding Baishishan Island has abundant fishery resources because of its plentiful food and rocky reefs that provide refuge from predators.However,overfishing has occurred in many areas and some species’local populations need to be replenished through stocking programs.This case study,using Sparus microcephalus as the test species,designed and analyzed detailed stocking strategies to improve the survival ratio and control the active range of the released fishes.Controlled variables included release location,release time,and tidal level.Two stocking strategies were designed,executed,and evaluated for comparison.A traditional stocking method was applied to the high flow area of Baishishan Island in Xiangshan Bay,East China Sea.The released fry were transported by boat and released to the sea using buckets.Released fish were traced using plastic tags.The average distance of the 19 recaptured fry from the release point was 7.6 km with 52.9%mortality rate.The distance at recapture and mortality rate among recaptured individuals showed that the traditional releasing method was not successful.An in situ stocking method was used in a low tide area and natural process was imitated to decrease the stress response and promote physiological adaptation.The purpose of this method was to prolong the release process applying temporary net cages at the release location,which resulted in a regional distribution of the released fish and possibly improving the food availability.A new Sr+tagging technique was adopted to evaluate the release effect and quantify comparative release data.Only 1 fish among the 354 caught was found farther than 1 km from the release point in the following 6 months.The results validated the promotion of the new stocking technique. | Qingsong Hu Ning Bao Hafiz Abdur Rahman Yazhou Jiang Shouyu Zhang Jun Li Jikang Shentu | 2019 | Aquaculture and Fisheries2019,4,2: | 2 |

| 18 | Spectrum Characteristics and Transfer Function of the Hydrograph of the Deep Aqueous System显示文摘The fluctuation of most of the hydrograph in the deep aqueous system records the fluid pulsation in lithosphere and variation of the earth’s crust. Many observations have verified that groundwater is an ideal information carrier of the crust. In this paper, the series of input (precipitation, air pressure, Earth tide etc.) and output (water level, artesian flow) of the deep aqueous system are studied by using the spectrum analysis and system theory. The application concepts of transfer function and the spectral structure of the hydrograph enrich the knowledge of the deep aqueous system. Two typical spectral structures of the hydrograph of the deep aqueous system are obtained by comparing with many water-bearing systems of the Jizhong depression. One is from well Ma-17 and the other is from the well Xinze-5. | 19 | Colossal magnetoresistance and spin-glass properties of La(1-x)TexMnO3(x=0.04,0.1)显示文摘For the first time, a novel material of La1-x- TexMnO3 (x = 0.04, 0.1), in which the La ions are replaced by the nonmetal element Te in the Chalcogen, has been synthesized. The material has a rhombohedral lattice with the space group of R3c, and Te ions have a tetravalence state. The curves of the resistivity vs. temperature indicate that this material has the property of a metal-semiconductor transition and the colossal magnetoresistance (CMR) effect. The maximum magnetoreistance ratio MR=[(0)()]/(0)H? is about 51% at 4 T for x = 0.1. | 20 | Trace elements of pyrite and S,H,O isotopes from the Laowan gold deposit in Tongbai,Henan Province,China:implications for ore genesis显示文摘The Laowan deposit is a large gold deposit in the Qinling-Dabie orogenic belt where pyrite is the main Au-bearing mineral phase.We present results from the occurrences of gold,trace elements and sulfur isotopes of pyrite,and hydrogen and oxygen isotopes of quartz and calcite to elucidate the sources of ore-forming fluid;the genesis of pyrite and the ore-forming process.From field observations,five generations of pyrite are identified;one formed in a metamorphic-diagenetic epoch(PyI),and the others during four mineralization stages:1)the coarse-grained pyrite-quartz stage(PyII),2)the quartz and medium-to fine-grained pyrite stage(PyIII),3)the polymetallic sulfide stage(PyIV),and 4)the carbonate-quartz stage(PyV).Gold mainly occurs in PyIII and PyIV.We find that Au,Ag,Pb,and Cu are incorporated into pyrite as micro-/nano-inclusions and that Co,Ni,As,and Se enter the pyrite lattice via isomorphous replacement.The Co/Ni values and Se concentrations indicate that PyI formed from metamorphic hydrothermal fluids and that pyrites(PyII,PyIII,and PyIV)from the ore-forming stages typically reflect a hydrothermal genesis involving magmatic fluid.Theδ^34S values of PyI(1.45‰-2.09‰)are similar to that of plagioclase amphibole schist,indicating that S was primarily derived from wall rock,while those of PyII,PyIII,and PyIV(3.10‰-5.55‰)suggest that S was derived from the Guishanyan Formation and the Laowan granite.The four mineralization stages show a systematic decrease inδD(from−77.1‰to−82.8‰,−84.7‰,and−102.7‰),while theδ^18OH2O values showed a gradual decrease from 5.7 to 2.7‰,1.0‰,and−1.3‰.These data show that the ore-forming fluid was similar to a mixture of magmatic and meteoric waters.Thus,we conclude that the Laowan gold deposit is related to magmatic-hydrothermal fluid. | Yuehua Zhao Shouyu Chen Jianli Chen Shuaiji Wu | 2020 | Frontiers of Earth Science2020,14,3: | 1 |
