1High energy soliton pulse generation by a magnetron-sputtering-deposition-grown MoTe_2 saturable absorber显示文摘The pulse energy in the ultrafast soliton fiber laser oscillators is usually limited by the well-known wave-breaking phenomenon owing to the absence of a desirable real saturable absorber(SA) with high power tolerance and large modulation depth. Here, we report a type of microfiber-based MoTe_2 SA fabricated by the magnetron-sputtering deposition(MSD) method. High-energy wave-breaking free soliton pulses were generated with pulse duration/pulse energy/average output power of 229 fs/2.14 nJ/57 mW in the 1.5 μm regime and 1.3 ps/13.8 nJ/212 mW in the 2 μm regime, respectively. To our knowledge, the generated soliton pulses at 1.5 μm had the shortest pulse duration and the highest output power among the reported erbium-doped fiber lasers mode locked by transition metal dichalcogenides. Moreover, this was the first demonstration of a MoTe_2-based SA in fiber lasers in the 2 μm regime, and the pulse energy/output power are the highest in the reported thulium-doped fiber lasers mode locked by two-dimensional materials. 2Expression of growth hormone receptor and its mRNA in hepatic cirrhosis显示文摘AIM: To investigate the expression of growth hormone receptor (GHR) and mRNA of GHR in cirrhotic livers of rats with the intension to find the basis for application of recombinant human growth hormone (rhGH) to patients with liver cirrhosis.METHODS: Hepatic cirrhosis was induced in SpragueDawley rats by administration of thioacetamide intraperitoneally for 9-12 weeks. Collagenase Ⅳ was perfused in situ for isolation of hepatocytes. The expression of GHR and its mRNA in cirrhotic livers was studied with radio-ligand binding assay, RT-PCR and digital image analysis.RESULTS: One class of specific growth hormone-binding site, GHR, was detected in hepatocytes and hepatic tissue of cirrhotic livers. The binding capacity of GHR (RT, fmol/mg protein) in rat cirrhotic liver tissue (30.8±1.9) was significantly lower than that in normal control (74.9±3.9) at the time point of the ninth week after initiation of induction of cirrhosis (n=10, P<0.05), and it decreased gradually along with the accumulation of collagen in the process of formation and development of liver cirrhosis (P<0.05). The number of binding sites (×10 4/cell) of GHR on rat cirrhotic hepatocytes (0.86±0.16) was significantly lower than that (1.28±0.24)in control (n= 10, P<0.05). The binding affinity of GHR among liver tissue, hepatocytes of various groups had no significant difference (P>0.05). The expression of GHR mRNA (riOD,pixel) in rat cirrhotic hepatic tissues (23.3±3.1) was also significantly lower than that (29.3±3.4) in normal control (n=10, P<0.05).CONCLUSION: The growth hormone receptor was expressed in a reduced level in liver tissue of cirrhotic rats,and lesser expression of growth hormone receptors was found in a later stage of cirrhosis. 4Kinetic study on desulfurization and denitrification using microwave irradiation over activated carbon显示文摘Sulfur dioxide (SO2) and nitrogen oxide (NOx) in flue gas can be removed by combining microwave induced catalysis and ad-sorption on activated carbon.The reaction mechanisms of desulfurization and denitrification by microwave irradiation were analyzed based on the measurement of reaction products.Thermodynamic parameters for desulfurization and denitrification by thermal-carbon reduction were predicted according to the principles of thermodynamics.The experimental results indicated that the desulfurization and denitrification reaction processes include three reaction stages: slow reaction zone,transitional zone and rapid reaction zone.In high temperature zone,activation energies for the reduction of SO2 and nitrogen monoxide (NO) are 30.69 and 24.06 kJ mol-1,respectively.This study shows that microwave can effectively enhance the removal of pol-lutants through its heating effect and the induced catalysis.MA ShuangChen YAO Juan Juan JIN Xin ZHANG Bo 2011Science China(Technological Sciences)2011,54,9:13
5Protective effects of recombinant human growth hormone on cirrhotic rats显示文摘AIM: To investigate the effects and molecular mechanismsof recombinant human growth hormone (rhGH) onprotecting liver function and alleviating portal hypertensionof liver cirrhotic rats.METHODS: Liver cirrhosis of male Sprague-Dawley ratswas induced by administration of thioacetamide. The ratswith or without liver cirrhosis were randomly divided intofour groups. Group A consisted of the normal rats wastreated with normal saline (NS), group B consisted of thenormal rats was treated with rhGH, group C consisted ofcirrhotic rats was treated with NS, and group D consistedof cirrhotic rats was treated with rhGH. The rats of differentgroups were subcutaneously injected with 0.5 mL of NS or333 ng/kg of rhGH daily for 7 d. After treatments, thefollowing parameters were examined, including GH-bindingcapacity (RO by 12SI-hGH binding, growth hormone receptormRNA(GHR mRNA) expression by RT-PCR, relative contentof collagen (RCC) by histomorphomertry, and level ofmalon-dialdehyde (MDA) and superoxide dismutase (SOD)in liver tissue by thiobarbituric acid reaction and pyrogallicacid self-oxidation, respectively. Serum albumin (ALB),alanine transaminase (ALT) and portal vein pressure (PVP)were also examined.RESULTS: rhGH up-regulated both the GH-binding capacity(R0 and the expression of GHR mRNA in vivo. RT in groupA (72+12 fmol/mg protein) was significantly higher thanthat in group C (31+4 fmol/mg protein) (P<0.05). RT ingroup B (80+9 fmol/mg protein) increased markedlycompared to group A (P<0.05). RT in group D (40+7 fmol/mgprotein) raised remarkably compared with group C (P<0.05),but less than that in group A, and there was no significantGH binding affinity contrast (Kd) change. The GHR mRNAlevel (iOD, pixel) in group A (29+3) was significantly higherthan that in group C (23+3) (P<0.05). GHR mRNA levelswere significantly raised in group B (56+4) and group D(42+8) compared with groups A and C (29+3 and 23+3,respectively) (P<0.05). Compared with the normal liver,MDA level was higher and SOD level was lower in cirrhoticlivers. After rhGH treatment, MDA level was significantlydeclined to 12.0+2.2 nmol/mg protein and SOD was raisedto 1029+76 U/rag protein in group D (P<0.05). ALB levelsin groups B and D (42+7 g/L and 37+7 g/L, respectively)were significantly raised compared with those in groups Aand C (35+5 g/L and 29+4 g/L, respectively) (P<0.05).ALT level was markedly lower in group D (69+7 U/L)compared to group C (89+15 U/L) (P<0.05), and close togroup A (61+10 U/L). RCC in group C (22.30+3.86%) wassignificantly higher than that in group A (1.14+0.21%) andgroup D (14.70+2.07%) (P<0.05). 6Mechanism of flue gas simultaneous desulfuri-zation and denitrification using the highly reactive absorbent显示文摘Fly ash, industry-grade lime and a few oxidizing manganese compound additive were used to prepare the “Oxygen-riched” highly reactive absorbent for simultaneous desulfurization and denitrification. Experiments of simultaneous desulfurization and denitrification were carried out using the highly reactive absorbent in the flue gas circulating fluidized bed (CFB) system. Removal efficiencies of 94.5% for SO2 and 64.2% for NO were obtained respectively. The scanning electron microscope (SEM) and accessory X-ray energy spectrometer were used to observe micro-properties of the samples, including fly ash, common highly reactive absorbent, “Oxygen-riched” highly reactive absorbent and spent absorbent. The white flake layers were observed in the SEM images about surfaces of the common highly reactive absorbent and “Oxygen- riched” one, and the particle surfaces of the spent absorbent were porous. The content of calcium on surface was higher than that of the average in the highly reactive absorbent. The manganese compound additive dispersed uniformly on the surfaces of the “Oxygen- riched” highly reactive absorbent. There was a sulfur peak in the energy spectra pictures of the spent absorbent. The component of the spent absorbent was analyzed with chemical analysis methods, and the results indicated that more nitrogen species appeared in the absorbent except sulfur species, and SO2 and NO were removed by chemical absorption according to the experimental results of X-ray energy spectrometer and the chemical analysis. 7Efficient improvement of 2.7 μm luminescence of Er^(3+):oxyfluoride glass containing gallium by Yb^(3+) ions codoping显示文摘Mid-infrared laser materials with low phonon energy have significant applications. However, the development of available glass systems for high-power laser gain medium have posed a great challenge.Therefore, we investigated the 2.7 μm spectroscopic properties of Er^(3+)/Yb^(3+) -codoped oxyfluoride glass containing gallium, which were prepared by typically melting and quenching methods. The 2.7 μm luminescence properties of the Er^(3+)/Yb^(3+)-codoped oxyfluoride glass containing gallium were recorded by a 980 nm laser diode. The Judde Ofelt parameters, decay curves, emission cross section, energy transfer efficiency and quantum efficiency were calculated. The maximum emission cross section of YbFGa-0.5 is 1.63 × 10^(-20) cm^2 by 980 nm excitation. The energy transfer efficiency is calculated to be77.8% for the YbFGa-0.5 glass around 2700 nm. The quantum efficiency at 1530 nm is 65.6%. 8Experimental study on removing NO from flue gas using microwave irradiation over activated carbon carried catalyst显示文摘Nitrogen oxides(NOx) from flue gas can be removed efficiently by activated carbon continuously irradiated by microwave,which,however,needs high temperature and consumes excessive carbon. If catalyst is added into activated carbon,then reaction temperature can be reduced and selectivity of reaction enhanced. The effects on flue gas denitrification by adding different catalysts to microwave reactor were studied in this paper. It was found that the addition of catalyst could reduce the microwave power required by the same removal efficiency obviously;the difference of removal efficiency was different due to different catalysts,and the Cu-based catalyst has more catalytic action efficiency. Reaction temperature decreased by about 200℃ and removal efficiency increased by 25% after adding Cu-based catalyst. 9Integration of nanoscale light emitters:an efficient ultraviolet and blue random lasing from NaYF_4:Yb/Tm hexagonal nanocrystals显示文摘Near infrared light-controlled release of payloads from ultraviolet-sensitive(UV-sensitive) polymer hydrogels or nanocarriers is one of the most promising strategies for biotherapy. Here, we propose the concept of light activation of NaYF_4:20%Yb, 2%Tm nanocrystals(NCs). NaYF_4:20%Yb, 2%Tm NCs are synthesized by a solvothermal method. Effective upconversion luminescence from NaYF_4:20%Yb, 2%Tm NCs excited by a continuous wave(CW) 980 nm laser is obtained. The NaYF_4:20%Yb, 2%Tm NCs are then used as a laser gain medium and sandwiched between Al and quartz reflectors to form laser microcavities. UV and blue upconverted random lasing is obtained from the laser microcavities. Hence, we verify explicitly that the NaYF_4:Yb, Tm NCs support UV and blue upconversion random lasing via a 980 nm nanosecond laser excitation. 10Research on desorption and regeneration of simulated decarbonization solution in the process of CO_2 capture using ammonia method显示文摘Study on desorption and regeneration of simulated decarbonization solution using ammonia method for CO2 capture was carried out in order to understand the feature of regeneration of decarbonization solution. The mechanisms about solution desorption after decarbonization were introduced briefly. 11Novel Even Beam Splitters Based on Subwavelength Binary Simple Periodic Rectangular Structure显示文摘In this paper, a novel method of a subwavelength binary simple periodic rectangular structure is presented to realize even beam splitting by combining the rigorous couple-wave analysis with the genetic algorithm. Several even splitters in the terahertz region were designed and one of the silicon-based beam splitters designed to separate one incident beam into four emergent beams has total efficiency up to 92.23 %. Zero-order diffraction efficiency was reduced to less than 0.192 % and the error of uniformity decreased to 6.51 9 10-6. These results break the limitation of even beam splitting based on the traditional scalar theory. 120.33 mJ, 104.3 W dissipative soliton resonance based on a figure-of-9 double-clad Tm-doped oscillator and an all-fiber MOPA system显示文摘We demonstrate, for the first time, to the best of our knowledge, an all-fiber figure-of-9 double-clad Tm-doped fiber laser operating in the dissipative soliton resonance(DSR) regime. Stable mode-locked rectangular pulses are obtained by using the nonlinear amplifying loop mirror(NALM) technique. A long spool of high-nonlinearity fiber(HNLF) and a segment of SMF-28 fiber are used to enhance the nonlinearity of the NALM loop and to obtain a large all-anomalous regime. Output power and pulse energy are further boosted by using a three-stage master oscillator power amplifier(MOPA) system. 13Radiation-pressure-induced photoluminescence enhancement of all-inorganic perovskite CsPbBr3 quantum dots显示文摘Perovskite quantum dots(QDs) are of great interest due to their outstanding optoelectronic properties and tremendous application potential. Improving photoluminescence(PL) spectra in all-inorganic perovskite QDs is of great importance for performance enhancement. In this work, the PL quantum yield of the CsPbBr3 perovskite QDs is enhanced from 70% to 95% with increasing radiation pressure. Such enhancement is attributed to the increased binding energy of self-trapped excitons(STEs) upon radiation pressure, which is consistent with its blue-shifted PL and other characterization results. Furthermore, we study ultrafast absorption spectroscopy and find that the dynamics of relaxation from free excitons to STEs in radiation pressure CsPbBr3 QDs is ascribed to stronger electron–phonon coupling in the contracted octahedral structure. 15Zeolite templated carbon nanodots for broadband ultrafast pulsed fiber laser generation显示文摘Carbon nanodots(C-dots) with a uniform size of about 2 nm are synthesized via in situ pyrolysis of n-propylamine that is confined in the nanochannels of zeolite Linde Type A(LTA). The as-synthesized C-dots@LTA composite shows nonlinear optical saturable absorption properties in a broad wavelength band and can be used as saturable absorber(SA) to generate ultrafast pulsed fiber lasers. By inserting a zeolite LTA single crystal hosting C-dots into the fiber laser cavity, mode-locked fiber lasers with long-term operation stability at 1.5 μm and 1 μm are achieved. These results show that the C-dots@LTA are a promising SA material for ultrafast pulsed fiber laser generation in a broad wavelength band. 18Facile active control of a pulsed erbium-doped fiber laser using modulation depth tunable carbon nanotubes显示文摘Short pulsed fiber lasers have been widely made using single-walled carbon nanotubes as a saturable absorber(SA). However, most of the currently used devices can only operate in one determined operation state with an unchangeable modulation SA depth in the cavity, which significantly limits their application in photonic devices.In this paper, well-aligned carbon nanotube arrays are synthesized using zeolite AlPO_4-5 as a template, which features anisotropic optical absorption. The linear optical absorption of the as-synthesized carbon nanotube arrays can easily be tuned by adjusting a polarization controller, thus providing a tunable modulation depth for the carbon nanotube SA. By exploiting this SA in an erbium-doped fiber laser cavity, both Q-switched and modelocked pulsed lasers are achieved by simply adjusting a polarization controller under a fixed pump power of 330 mW. In addition, the repetition rate of the Q-switching and pulse duration of the mode-locking can be tuned according to the variation of modulation depth. 20Decoration of C_(60) nanorods with nickel and their magnetic properties显示文摘We studied the coating of C60 nanorods with nickel by electroless plating method and investigated their magnetic properties. The morphology and structure of the nickel layer coated on C60 nanorods were characterized by transmission electron microscopy (TEM), energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Raman spectroscopy. The coated nickel is in the form of nano-sized crystals and becomes a continuous layer as reaction time increases. The hysteresis loop shows a super paramagnetic characteristic similar to that of nanometer-sized nickel particle. These results suggest that the average size of nickel particles on C60 rods is below 10 nm.
