1Seroprevalence of SARS-CoV-2 infections among children visiting a hospital显示文摘Importance:In this study,we retrospectively investigated the seroprevalence of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)antibodies within serum samples from children in Beijing,China.These findings provide preliminary guidance regarding population susceptibility to SARS-CoV-2,which will aid in establishing policy toward coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)prevention and control.Objective:To understand the seropositivity of anti-SARS-CoV-2 IgM/IgG antibodies among children in Beijing,China,evaluate the susceptibility of children in Beijing to SARS-CoV-2,and provide prima facie evidence to guide SARS-CoV-2 prevention and control.Methods:IgM/IgG antibody kits(colloidal gold)were used to conduct preliminary screening of SARS-CoV-2 IgM/IgG antibodies in serum samples of children who presented to Beijing Children’s Hospital,Capital Medical University,having fever or requiring hospitalization,from March 2020 to August 2020.Statistical analysis of anti-SARS-CoV-2 antibody seropositivity was performed according to the children’s general demographic characteristics,timing of admission to hospital,presence of pneumonia,and viral nucleic acid test results.Results:The study included 19797 children with both IgM and IgG antibody results.Twenty-four children had anti-SARS-CoV-2 IgM-positive results(positive rate of 1.2‰),twelve children had anti-SARS-CoV-2 IgG-positive results(positive rate of 0.6‰).Viral nucleic acid test results were negative for the above-mentioned children with positive antibody findings;during the study,two children exhibited positive viral nucleic acid test results,but their anti-SARS-CoV-2 IgM/IgG antibody results were negative.Anti-SARS-CoV-2 IgM antibody seropositivity was higher in the<1-year-old group than in the≥6-year-old group.The rates of anti-SARS-CoV-2 IgM seropositivity was highest in August from March to August;IgG results did not significantly differ over time.The rates of anti-SARS-CoV-2 IgM or IgG seropositivity among children with and without suspected pneumonia did not significantly differ between groups.Interpretation:During the study period,the rates of anti-SARS-CoV-2 IgM/IgG antibody seropositivity were low among children who presented to Beijing Children’s Hospital,Capital Medical University.The findings suggest that children in Beijing are generally susceptible to SARS-CoV-2 infection;COVID-19 prevention and control measures should be strengthened to prevent disease in children.Ran Wang Fang Jin Shuhui Cao Hong Yuan Jingchen Qu Jiaqi Zhang Yuxuan Li Xiangpeng Chen Wenqi Song Zhengde Xie 2020Pediatric Investigation2020,4,4:2
2Geochemical characteristics of Oligocene-Miocene sediments from the deepwater area of the northern South China Sea and their provenance implications显示文摘Geochemical and detrital zircon U-Pb dating data for drilled sediments from the Baiyun deepwater area of the northern South China Sea demonstrate a change of sedimentary sources from the Oligocene to the Miocene.Zircon ages of the pre-rift Eocene sequences are dominated by Yanshanian ages with various peak values(110–115 Ma for U1435 and L21; 150 Ma for H1), indicating local sediment supply from the pre-existing Mesozoic magmatic belt. For the Oligocene sediments in the northern part of the basin, the rare earth elements show different distribution characteristics, indicating sediment supply from the paleo-Zhujiang River(Pearl River), as also confirmed by the multimodal zircon age spectra of the Lower Oligocene strata in Well X28. By contrast, a positive Eu anomaly characterizes sediments from the western and southern parts of the basin, indicating potential provenances from intermediate to basic volcanic rock materials. The Baiyun Movement at the end of the Oligocene contributed to a large-scale subsidence in the deepwater area and also a northward retreat of continental shelf break, leading to deepening depositional environment in the basin. As a result, all the detrital zircon ages of the Upper Oligocene strata from Wells X28, L13, and L21 share a similar distribution, implying the possible control of a common source like the Zhujiang River. 10Impairment of Autophagic Flux After Hypobaric Hypoxia Potentiates Oxidative Stress and Cognitive Function Disturbances in Mice显示文摘Acute hypobaric hypoxic brain damage is a potentially fatal high-altitude sickness.Autophagy plays a critical role in ischemic brain injury,but its role in hypo-baric hypoxia(HH)remains unknown.Here we used an HH chamber to demonstrate that acute HH exposure impairs autophagic activity in both the early and late stages of the mouse brain,and is partially responsible for HH-induced oxidative stress,neuronal loss,and brain damage.The autophagic agonist rapamycin only promotes the initiation of autophagy.By proteome analysis,a screen showed that protein dynamin2(DNM2)potentially regulates autophagic flux.Overexpression of DNM2 significantly increased the formation of autolysosomes,thus maintaining autophagic flux in combination with rapamycin.Furthermore,the enhancement of autophagic activity attenuated oxidative stress and neurological deficits after HH exposure.These results contribute to evidence supporting the conclusion that DNM2-mediated autophagic flux represents a new therapeutic target in HH-induced brain damage.Shuhui Dai Yuan Feng Chuanhao Lu Hongchen Zhang Wenke Ma Wenyu Xie Xiuquan Wu Peng Luo Lei Zhang Fei Fei Zhou Fei Xia Li 2024Neuroscience Bulletin2024,40,1:0

13Relationship between interleukin-18 levels and characterization of atherosclerotic plaque and percutaneous coronary intervention显示文摘Background lnterleuldn-18(IL- 18) plays a key role in the development,progression and outcome of coronary artery disease and its complications.However,its variability relation to the characterization of atherosclerotic plaque and percutaneous coronary intervention are still unknown.Methods Fifty four patients with coronary artery disease [22 patients with stable angina (SA) and 32 patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS)] were enrolled in this study.All patients underwent percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI).The stability of the plaques at the criminal vessels was assessed with analogical IVUS.Serum IL-18 levels were measured at the time points of 5 rain before PCI,and Oh,6h,24h and lmonth after PCI in all patients.Results ACS group consisted mainly of lipidic unstable plaques while SA group of fibrous stable plaques.Moreover,compared with those in SA group,eccentricity index (EI) and remodeling index (RI) were significantly higher in ACS group.Positive remodeling was seen in ACS group while negative or no remodeling in SA group.Further,serum IL-18 levels were significantly elevated in patients with ACS than those in SA group before PCI,increased at Oh,6h,24h after PCI (P<0.05)and were not significant different at 1 month after PCI from those before PCI.Conclusions There is significant difference in the composition and structural characteristics of atherosclerotic plaques between ACS and UA groups.PCI triggersd and enhances the inflammatory response in a short time.Serum levels of IL- 18 are the predictors of progression of unstable plaque in atherosclerosis.Post-operative complications of PCI might be reduced by inhibiting IL- 18.(J Geriatr Cardiol 2008;5:21-24)Weihua Li Kaimin Lin Lei Gao Rong Wu Qiang Xie Yongjun Guo Shuhui Dai 2008Journal of Geriatric Cardiology2008,5,1:0
14Fate of Parent and Substituted Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons in SBR/MBBR Treatment Process:Experimental Value Against Model Prediction显示文摘The knowledge of the existence,distribution and fate of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons(PAHs)and substituted polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons(SPAHs)in wastewater treatment plants(WWTPs)was vital for reducing their concentrations entering the aquatic environment.The concentrations of 13 SPAHs and 16 PAHs were all determined in a WWTP with styrene butadiene rubber(SBR)in partnership with the moving bed biofilm reactor(MBBR)process.SPAHs presented a higher concentration lever than PAHs in nearly all samples.The total removal efficiencies of PAHs and SPAHs ranged from 64.0%to 71.36%and 78.4%to 79.7%,respectively.The total yearly loads of PAHs(43.0 kg)and SPAHs(73.0 kg)were mainly reduced by the primary and SBR/MBBR biological treatment stages.The tertiary treatment stage had a minor contribution to target compounds removal.According to a synthesis and improvement fate model,we found that the dominant processes changed as the chemical octanol water partition coefficient(K_(ow))increased.But the seasonal variations of experimental removal efficiencies were more obvious than that of predicted data.In the primary sedimentation tank,dissolution in the aqueous phase and sorption to sludge/particulate matter were controlling processes for the removal of PAHs and SPAHs.The sorption to sludge and biodegradation were the principal removal mechanisms during the SBR/MBBR biological treatment process.The contribution of volatilization to removal was always insignificant.Furthermore,the basic physicochemical properties and operating parameters influenced the fate of PAHs and SPAHs in the WWTP.ZHAO Jing TIAN Weijun LIU Shuhui QIAO Kaili DU Zhaoyang XIE Wenlong 2023Journal of Ocean University of China2023,22,2:0
15Exceptional reversed yield strength asymmetry in a rare-earth free Mg alloy containing quasicrystal precipitates显示文摘This work reports an exceptional reversed yield strength asymmetry at room temperature for a rare-earth free magnesium alloy containing a mass of fine dispersed quasicrystal(I-phase)precipitates.Although exhibiting traditional basal texture,it owns an exceptional CYS/TYS as high as~1.17.Electron back-scattered diffraction(EBSD)and transmission electron microscopy(TEM)examinations indicate pyramidal and prismatic dislocations plus tensile twinning being activated after immediate yielding in compression while basal and non-basal dislocations in tension.I-phase particles transferred the concentrated stress by self-twinning to provide the driving force for tensile twin initiating in neighboring grains,thereby significantly increasing the critical resolved shear stress of tensile twinning to possibly the level of pyramidal slip,finally leading to the dominance of pyramidal slip plus tensile twinning in texture grains.This results in a higher contribution on yield strength by~55 MPa in compression than in tension,which reasonably agrees with the experimental yield strength difference(~38 MPa).It can be concluded that I-phase particles influence deformation modes in tension and in compression,finally result in reversed yield strength asymmetry.Qiang Yang Shuhui Lv Zixiang Yan Zefeng Xie Xin Qiu 2024Journal of Magnesium and Alloys2024,12,2:0
