1Photothermal therapy with regulated Nrf2/NF-κB signaling pathway for treating bacteria-induced periodontitis显示文摘Periodontitis is an inflammatory disease initiated by bacterial infection,developed by excessive immune response,and aggravated by high level of reactive oxygen species(ROS).Hence,herein,a versatile metal-organic framework(MOF)-based nanoplatform is prepared using mesoporous Prussian blue(MPB)nanoparticles to load BA,denoted as MPB-BA.The established MPB-BA nanoplatform serves as a shelter and reservoir for vulnerable immunomodulatory drug BA,which possesses antioxidant,anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial effects.Thus,MPB-BA can exert its antioxidant,anti-inflammatory functions through scavenging intracellular ROS to switch macrophages from M1 to M2 phenotype so as to relieve inflammation.The underlying molecular mechanism lies in the upregulation of phosphorylated nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2(Nrf2)to scavenge ROS and subsequently inhibit the nuclear factor kappa-B(NF-κB)signal pathway.Moreover,MPB-BA also exhibited efficient photothermal antibacterial activity against periodontal pathogens under near-infrared(NIR)light irradiation.In vivo RNA sequencing results revealed the high involvement of both antioxidant and anti-inflammatory pathways after MPB-BA application.Meanwhile,micro-CT and immunohistochemical staining of p-Nrf2 and p-P65 further confirmed the superior therapeutic effects of MPB-BA than minocycline hydrochloride.This work may provide an insight into the treatment of periodontitis by regulating Nrf2/NF-κB signaling pathway through photothermal bioplatform-assisted immunotherapy.Yujuan Tian Ying Li Jialin Liu Yi Lin Jian Jiao Bo Chen Wanmeng Wang Shuilin Wu Changyi Li 2022Bioactive Materials2022,7,3:3
2Fabrication of Ce-doped(Gd2Y)Al5O12/Y3Al5O12 composite-phase scintillation ceramic显示文摘In this paper,a novel Ce(Gd2 Y)Al5O12/Ce:Y3Al5O12(Ce:GYAG/Ce:YAG)composite scintillation ceramic was designed and fabricated by a solid-state reaction method.The phase,luminescence and scintillation properties were investigated.The Ce:GYAG/Ce:YAG composite ceramic consisting of two-phase has a broad emission band ranging from 500 to 750 nm.The total mass attenuation coefficient of Ce:GYAG/Ce:YAG is 0.3864 cm^-1,in between those of Ce:YAG and Ce:GYAG ceramics.In addition,the composite ceramic had a high light yield of 20430 ph/MeV.By controlling the ratio of GYAG and YAG,the composite ceramic can realize a spectrum design and total mass attenuation coefficient control to meet the requirements for wide-X-ray-energy-range detectors.Shuilin Chen Benxue Jiang Yang Wang Qiangqiang Zhu Qinghua Yang Wanqiu Ma Ge Zhang Long Zhang 2019Journal of Rare Earths2019,37,9:3
3Structural engineering of sulfur-doped carbon encapsulated bismuth sulfide core-shell structure for enhanced potassium storage performance显示文摘Owing to the high theoretical capacity,metal sulfides have emerged as promising anode materials for potassium-ion batteries(PIBs).However,sluggish kinetics,drastic volume expansion,and polysulfide dissolution during charge/discharge result in unsatisfactory electrochemical performance.Herein,we design a core-shell structure consisting of an active bismuth sulfide core and a highly conductive sulfur-doped carbon shell(Bi2S3@SC)as a novel anode material for PIBs.Benefiting from its unique core-shell structure,this Bi2S3@SC is endowed with outstanding potassium storage performance with high specific capacity(626 mAh·g^(-1)under 50 mA·g^(-1))and excellent rate capability(268.9 mAh·g^(-1)at 1 A·g^(-1)).More importantly,a Bi2S3@SC//KFe[Fe(CN)6]full cell is successfully fabricated,which achieves a high reversible capacity of 257 mAh·g^(-1)at 50 mA·g^(-1)over 50 cycles,holding great potentials in practical applications.Density functional theory(DFT)calculations reveal that potassium ions have a low diffusion barrier of 0.54 eV in Bi2S3 due to the weak van der Waals interactions between layers.This work heralds a promising strategy in the structural design of high-performance anode materials for PIBs.Changlai Wang Jian Lu Huigang Tong Shuilin Wu Dongdong Wang Bin Liu Ling Cheng Zhiyu Lin Lin Hu Hui Wang Wenjun Zhang Qianwang Chen 2021Nano Research2021,14,10:2
4Enhanced visible-light-assisted peroxymonosulfate activation over MnFe_(2)O_(4) modified g-C_(3)N_(4)/diatomite composite for bisphenol A degradation显示文摘The MnFe_(2) O_(4)/g-C_(3) N_(4)/diatomite composites(Mn/G/D) were prepared via a facile precipitation-calcination method in this study.The Mn/G/D possessed higher specific surface area,lower electron-hole pairs' recombination rate,as well as wider and stronger visible light absorption capacity.Since the synergistic effect between g-C_(3 )N_(4) and MnFe_(2) O_(4),the photogene rated electron could transfer from g-C3 N4 to MnFe_(2) O_(4),which could promote the migration of electrons as well as enhance the photocatalytic activity and peroxymonosulfate(PMS) activation efficiency.Mn/G/D-5% composite displayed the excellent degradation performance of bisphenol A(BPA) with the removal efficiency of 99.9% under PMS/Vis system,which was approximately 2.47 and 63.8 times as high as that of the Mn/G/D-5%/PMS and Mn/G/D-5%/Vis system,respectively.Moreover,negative electricity derived from diatomite surface also promoted the photogenerated carriers' migration,and the degradation rate constant was around 2.4 times higher than that of MnFe_(2) O_(4)/g-C_(3) N_(4)(Mn/G).In addition,quenching experiments showed that both radical pathway(h^(+),·OH,·O_(2)^(-)and SO_(4)·^(-)) and non-radical pathway(^(1) O_(2)) were responsible for the degradation of BPA.Xiangwei Zhang Chunquan Li Ting Chen Ye Tan Xiaorui Liu Fang Yuan Shuilin Zheng Zhiming Sun 2021International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2021,31,6:2
5Stepwise 3D-spatio-temporal magnesium cationic niche: Nanocomposite scaffold mediated microenvironment for modulating intramembranous ossification显示文摘The fate of cells and subsequent bone regeneration is highly correlated with temporospatial coordination of chemical,biological,or physical cues within a local tissue microenvironment.Deeper understanding of how mammalian cells react to local tissue microenvironment is paramount important when designing next generation of biomaterials for tissue engineering.This study aims to investigate that the regulation of magnesium cationic(Mg^2+)tissue microenvironment is able to convince early-stage bone regeneration and its mechanism undergoes intramembranous ossification.It was discovered that moderate Mg^2+content niche(~4.11 mM)led to superior bone regeneration,while Mg^2+-free and strong Mg^2+content(~16.44 mM)discouraged cell adhesion,proliferation and osteogenic differentiation,thereby bone formation was rarely found.When magnesium ions diffused into free Mg zone from concentrated zone in late time point,new bone formation on free Mg zone became significant through intramembranous ossification.This study successfully demonstrates that magnesium cationic microenvironment serves as an effective biochemical cue and is able to modulate the process of bony tissue regeneration.The knowledge of how a Mg^2+cationic microenvironment intertwines with cells and subsequent bone formation gained from this study may provide a new insight to develop the next generation of tissuerepairing biomaterials.Jie Shen Bo Chen Xinyun Zhai Wei Qiao Shuilin Wu Xuanyong Liu Ying Zhao Changshun Ruan Haobo Pan Paul K.Chu Kenneth M.C.Cheung Kelvin W.K.Yeung 2021Bioactive Materials2021,6,2:2
