| 1 | Theoretical analysis of polarization properties for tilted fiber Bragg gratings显示文摘The polarization properties for tilted fiber Bragg gratings (TFBGs) are investigated theoretically based on coupled-mode theory and Mueller matrix method. The expression of wavelength-related polarizationdependent loss (PDL) for TFBGs with different tilt angles is derived and calculated. Simulation results are compared, and the results indicate that the polarization capability of TFBGs with 45° angle is stronger than other TFBGs with smaller angles. The degree of polarization for unpolarized light passing TFBGs is also simulated to further evaluate the polarization properties for various tilt angles. | 5 | Design and fabrication of erbium doped photosensitive fibers显示文摘A kind of erbium doped photosensitive fiber(EDPF) was proposed and fabricated,whose core was made of double layers named photosensitive layer and erbium doped layer.The double-layer core de-sign can overcome difficulties in fabrication of EDPF with single core design,i.e.the conflict between the high consistency rare earth doping and high consistency germanium doping.A sample was fabri-cated through the modified chemical vapor deposition method combined with solution doping tech-nique.The peak absorption coefficient was 48.80 dB/m at 1.53 μm,the background loss was lower than 0.1 dB/m,and the reflectivity of the fiber Brag gratings(FBG) written directly on the sample fiber was up to 97.3% by UV-writing technology.Moreover,a C band tunable fiber laser was fabricated using the sample fiber,in which a uniform FBG was written directly on EDPFs as a reflector.A single wavelength lasing with a maximum wavelength tuning range of 1555.2―1558.0 nm was achieved experimentally.Within this tuning range,the full-width at half maximum(FWHM) of the laser output was smaller than 0.015 nm and the side mode suppression ratio(SMSR) was better than 50 dB. | LI Jian LIU Peng LU ShaoHua WANG Jing MAO XiangQiao WEI Huai FU YongJun ZHENG Kai NING TiGang LI TangJun JIAN ShuiSheng | 2009 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2009,52,5: | 1 |

| 9 | Analysis of coupling from core mode to counter-propagating radiation modes in tilted fiber Bragg gratings显示文摘Radiation-mode coupling is stronger and more efficient in tilted fiber Bragg gratings than in other fiber gratings; it has good advantage in such fields as optical communication and optical sensors. A simplified coupled-mode theory (CMT) approach is proposed for what we believe to be the first time, whose validity is demonstrated by comparing its simulation results with that of the complete CMT equations. With the simplified CMT approach, a theoretical spectral analysis of coupling from core mode to counter-propagating radiation modes in reflective tilted fiber Bragg gratings is presented. The influence of grating length, refractive index modulation amplitude and tilt angle is exhaustively investigated on the transmission spectrum characteristics. | 15 | Integrated liver proteomics and metabolomics identify metabolic pathways affected by pantothenic acid deficiency in Pekin ducks显示文摘Pantothenic acid deficiency(PAD)in animals causes growth depression,fasting hypoglycemia and impaired lipid and glucose metabolism.However,a systematic multi-omics analysis of effects of PAD on hepatic function has apparently not been reported.We investigated liver proteome and metabolome changes induced by PAD to explain its effects on growth and liver metabolic disorders.Pekin ducks(1-dold,n=128)were allocated into 2 groups,with 8 replicates and 8 birds per replicate.For 16 d,all ducks had ad libitum access to either a PAD or a pantothenic acid adequate(control,CON)diet,formulated by supplementing a basal diet with 0 or 8 mg pantothenic acid/kg of diet,respectively.Liver enlargement,elevated liver glycogen concentrations and decreased liver concentrations of triglyceride and unsaturated fatty acids were present in the PAD group compared to the CON group.Based on integrated liver proteomics and metabolomics,PAD mainly affected glycogen synthesis and degradation,glycolysis and gluconeogenesis,tricarboxylic acid(TCA)cycle,peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor(PPAR)signaling pathway,fatty acid beta oxidation,and oxidative phosphorylation.Selected proteins were confirmed by Western blotting.Downregulation of proteins and metabolites involved in glycogen synthesis and degradation,glycolysis and gluconeogenesis implied that these processes were impaired in PAD ducks,which could have contributed to fasting hypoglycemia,liver glycogen storage,insufficient ATP production,and growth retardation.In contrast,PAD also upregulated proteins and metabolites involved in fatty acid beta oxidation,the TCA cycle,and oxidative phosphorylation processes in the liver;presumably compensatory responses to produce ATP.We inferred that PAD decreased liver triglyceride and unsaturated fatty acids by activating fatty acid beta oxidation and impairing unsaturated fatty acid synthesis.These findings contributed to our understanding of the mechanisms of PAD-induced changes in hepatic metabolism. | Jing Tang Yongbao Wu Bo Zhang Suyun Liang Zhanbao Guo Jian Hu Zhengkui Zhou Ming Xie Shuisheng Hou | 2022 | Animal Nutrition2022,,4: | 0 |
