| 1 | Age-related rhesus macaque models of COVID-19显示文摘Background:Since December 2019,an outbreak of the Corona Virus disease 2019(COVID-19)caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus(SARS-CoV-2)in Wuhan,China,has become a public health emergency of international concern.The high fatality of aged cases caused by SARS-CoV-2 was a need to explore the possible age-related phenomena with non-human primate models.Methods:Three 3-5 years old and two 15 years old rhesus macaques were intratracheally infected with SARS-CoV-2,and then analyzed by clinical signs,viral replication,chest X-ray,histopathological changes and immune response.Results:Viral replication of nasopharyngeal swabs,anal swabs and lung in old monkeys was more active than that in young monkeys for 14 days after SARS-CoV-2 challenge.Monkeys developed typical interstitial pneumonia characterized by thickened alveolar septum accompanied with inflammation and edema,notably,old monkeys exhibited diffuse severe interstitial pneumonia.Viral antigens were detected mainly in alveolar epithelial cells and macrophages.Conclusion:SARS-CoV-2 caused more severe interstitial pneumonia in old monkeys than that in young monkeys.Rhesus macaque models infected with SARS-CoV-2 provided insight into the pathogenic mechanism and facilitated the development of vaccines and therapeutics against SARS-CoV-2 infection. | Pin Yu Feifei Qi Yanfeng Xu Fengdi Li Peipei Liu Jiayi Liu Linlin Bao Wei Deng Hong Gao Zhiguang Xiang Chong Xiao Qi Lv Shuran Gong Jiangning Liu Zhiqi Song Yajin Qu Jing Xue Qiang Wei Mingya Liu Guanpeng Wang Shunyi Wang Haisheng Yu Xing Liu Baoying Huang Wenling Wang Li Zhao Huijuan Wang Fei Ye Weimin Zhou Wei Zhen Jun Han Guizhen Wu Qi Jin Jianwei Wang Wenjie Tan Chuan Qin | 2020 | Animal Models and Experimental Medicine2020,3,1: | 22 |

| 3 | Sensitivity of SARS-CoV-2 to different temperatures显示文摘This study was designed to investigate the sensitivity of SARS-CoV-2 to different temperatures,to provide basic data and a scientific basis for the control of COVID-19 epidemic.The virus was dispersed in 1 mL basal DMEM medium at a final concentration of 103.2 TCID 50/mL and then incubated at 4,22,30,35,37,38,39 and 40°C for up to 5 days.The infectivity of residual virus was titrated using the Vero E6 cell line.The results showed that the virus remained viable for 5 days at 4°C,and for 1 day only at 22 and 30°C.We found that the infectivity of the virus was completely lost after less than 12 hours at 37,38 and 39°C,while at 40°C,the inactivation time of the virus was rapidly reduced to 6 hours.We show that SARS-CoV-2 is sensitive to heat,is more stable at lower temperatures than higher temperature,remains viable for longer at lower temperatures,and loses viability rapidly at higher temperatures. | Qi Lv Mingya Liu Feifei Qi Shuran Gong Shasha Zhou Shisheng Zhan Linlin Bao | 2020 | Animal Models and Experimental Medicine2020,3,4: | 3 |
| 4 | Simulation and experimental research on droplet flow characteristics and deposition in airflow field显示文摘In order to study the motion law of droplet flow under the airflow action of long-range air-blast sprayers,a CFD-based 3D model was established for the air-blast sprayer duct and its external airflow field,and the discrete phase model was introduced to simulate the motion of droplet flow in the airflow.The simulation data of the droplet flow trajectory,droplet flow parameters and droplet deposition were obtained by establishing the monitoring sections and bilateral coupling calculation in the airflow field.Results showed that gravity had an obvious effect on droplets and large droplets settled faster.Some of the larger droplets were formed by polymerization in droplets motion.The smaller droplets were transported further along with the airflow,and the long-range sprayer has a significant effect on the directional transport of small droplets.Besides,the spraying swath in the direction perpendicular to the range enlarged gradually with the increase of the spraying range.At the end of the range,the diffuse and drifting of the droplets were dominant.Given that the outlet airflow velocity of the sprayer duct was 25.01 m/s and the spray pressure 1.8 MPa,the maximum motion distances of aerosol,mist,fine mist and coarse mist in the airflow field were 18.5 m,19.5 m,17.5 m and 10.5 m,respectively.Droplet size and number as well as number density and volume density of droplet flow on all monitoring sections showed a regression function with changes in the distance of the spraying range.The simulation results of the model adopted in this paper were verified by Chi-square test between the simulation results of the droplet deposition and the spray measurement results.Research results provide a new method for the study of orchard air-blast spraying technology and references for the optimization of spraying technology. | Bing Xiahou Daozong Sun Shuran Song Xiuyun Xue Qiufang Dai | 2020 | International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2020,13,6: | 3 |
| 5 | Psychometric properties of the Caregiver Strain Questionnaire among Chinese parents of children with ADHD or ASD显示文摘Background There is an urgent need in clinical practice to measure the stress of parenting.The Caregiver Strain Questionnaire(CGSQ)was found to be useful to measure parenting stress,but it has not been validated among the Chinese population.Aims To assess the reliability and construct validity of the Chinese version of CGSQ among Chinese parents.Methods From 2016 to 2017,266 parents(patient group)with a child having DSM-5-defined attention deficit hyperactivity disorder(ADHD)(n=107)or autism spectrum disorder(ASD)(n=159)and 268 parents of healthy children(control group)were recruited to the present study in Kunming,Yunnan province.All the parents were asked to fill out the Chinese version of CGSQ.We conducted exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis(CFA)to verify construct validity of CGSQ in both patient and control groups.Cronbach’s α coefficient as an index of internal consistency was assessed for each subscale.Fourteen days later,23 subjects filled out the scale again.Intra-class correlation coefficient was calculated to evaluate the test-retest reliability.Results(1)Cronbach’s alpha of the global scale was 0.901 for the control group and 0.952 for the patient group.The test-retest reliability for the whole scale was 0.890;(2)CFA indicated that the three-factor model had better fitting indices compared with the two-factor model in both groups.Besides,the fitting indices in the patient group were more favourable than those of the control group,withχ2/df=1.564,Goodness-of Fit Index=0.841,Comparative Fit Index=0.954,and root mean square error of approximation=0.065 for the patient group at three-factor model;(3)The caregiver strain of ASD parents was statistically higher than that of ADHD parents,and caregiver strain of ADHD parents was higher than that of control group.Conclusion These findings provide initial evidence to support the construct validity and reliability of CGSQ as a parenting stress measurement tool for Chinese parents,especially for parents of children with ADHD or ASD. | Runxu Yang Huizhi Zhou Jin Liu Yufeng Wang Yan Zhang Yanjiao Wang Ruixiang Liu Xia Cao Dong Han Shuran Yang Jianzhong Yang Chuanyuan Kang | 2021 | General Psychiatry2021,34,2: | 2 |
| 6 | APOBEC3B and IL-6 form a positive feedback loop in hepatocellular carcinoma cells显示文摘APOBEC3 protein families, a DNA cytidine deaminase, were up-regulated in multiple tumors. However, the relationship between Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) and APOBEC3B(A3B) remains unknown. It has been confirmed that interleukin-6(IL-6)has significant impacts on oncogenesis of HCC. Here, we reported that the expression of IL-6 was substantially up-regulated by A3 B in HepG2 cells. A3 B induced IL-6 expression through relocating HuR to enhance the IL-6 mRNA stability. Further analysis indicated that IL-6 also increased the expression of A3 B through JAK1/STAT3 signaling pathway, which formed a positive feedback to maintain the continuous expression of A3 B and IL-6, and thereby promoted the prolonged non-resolving inflammation. | 7 | Effect of the pineal gland on 5-hydroxytryptamine and γ-aminobutyric acid secretion in the hippocampus of male rats during the summer and winter显示文摘Objective:The present study aimed to investigate the effect of seasonal variation on neurotransmitter release in the hippocampus of normal rats and rats with pineal excision.Methods:Two time points,the summer and winter solstice,which are the longest and shortest days of the year,respectively,were selected.Male Spraguee Dawley rats that underwent a sham operation without pineal excision were included as a control group.The concentrations of 5-hydroxytryptamine(5-HT)andγ-aminobutyric acid(GABA)were determined by radioimmunoassays and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays,respectively.Results:In the winter,the 5-HT and GABA levels in normal rats exhibited a significant difference compared with those in the operation group(P<.01).A difference was also noted in GABA levels between the normal group and the sham operation group(P<.05).The concentrations of 5-HT and GABA in the hippocampal tissues of the normal group exhibited a seasonal rhythm consisting of elevation during the summer and reduction during the winter(P<.01),while the GABA levels in the sham operation group exhibited a significant difference,with elevation during the summer and reduction during the winter(P<.01).In the operation group,GABA showed the same trend(P<.01).Conclusion:The seasonal rhythm of neurotransmitter secretion by the hippocampus(5-HT and GABA)consisted of elevation during the summer and reduction during the winter.During the winter,the pineal gland exhibited a reverse regulatory effect on the secretion of 5-HT and GABA in the hippocampus,and it exhibited seasonal selectivity with regard to the regulation of 5-HT. | Ting Li Hailu Wang Hewei Zhang Leilei Liu Peipei Li Shuran Ma | 2020 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medical Sciences2020,7,3: | 2 |
| 8 | Is Habitat Preference Associated with Locomotor Performance in Multiocellated Racerunners(Eremias multiocellata) from a Desert Steppe?显示文摘Locomotor performance in lizards is strongly affected by structural habitat. Understanding this relationship allows us to predict species distributions across habitat types. However, little information is available about the ecological role of the locomotion of multiocellated racerunner(Eremias multiocellata) in the desert steppe ecosystem of Inner Mongolia, China. Herein, we studied the effects of habitat structure on the locomotor performance of this lizard species in the field. We found that the sprint speed of this lizard declined significantly with increasing vegetation coverage. Manipulative experiments were further conducted to examine the effects of branch barriers and surface substrates on the sprint speed of the lizard. We found that the sprint speed was significantly influenced by the surface substrates and branch barriers, and there were no interactions between them. Branch barriers impeded sprint speed, and E. multiocellata showed better locomotor performance on sandy rather than loamy substrates. | 9 | Inhibitory effect of Sumu(Lignum Sappan) plus Fuzi(Radix Aconiti Lateralis Praeparata) on a lung carcinoma model显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To investigate the inhibitory effect of Sumu(Lignum Sappan) plus Fuzi(Radix Aconiti Lateralis Praeparata)(SF) on the growth and metastasis of Lewis lung carcinoma.METHODS: A lung carcinoma model was established by subcutaneously inoculating Lewis lung carcinoma cells into C57 BL/6 mice. The mice were randomly divided into four groups of 13 mice(control, low-dose, moderate-dose, and high-dose), and gavaged once-daily for 21 consecutive days. The rates of tumor inhibition, metastasis, and metastasis inhibition were observed. The differential expressions of s P-selectin and vascular endothelial growth factor C(VEGFC) were compared between the treatment groups and the control group.RESULTS: The tumor weights differed significantly between the treatment groups and the control group(P < 0.05). | 17 | Thermal-physiological Strategies Underlying the Sympatric Occurrence of Three Desert Lizard Species显示文摘Sympatric reptiles are the ideal system for investigating temperature-driven coexistence. Understanding thermally physiological responses of sympatric lizards is necessary to reveal the physiological mechanisms that underpin the sympatric occurrence of reptiles. In this study, we used three lizard species, Eremias argus, E. multiocellata, and Phrynocephalus przewalskii, which are sympatric in the Inner Mongolia desert steppe, as a study system. By comparing their resting metabolic rates(RMR) and locomotion at different body temperatures, we aimed to better understand their physiological responses to thermal environments, which may explain the sympatric occurrence of these lizards. Our results showed that E. argus had significantly higher RMR and sprint speed than E. multiocellata, and higher RMR than P. przewalskii. In addition, the optimal temperature that maximized metabolic rates and locomotion for E. argus and E. multiocellata was 36°C, whereas for P. przewalskii it was 39°C. Our study revealed the physiological responses to temperatures that justify the sympatric occurrence of these lizards with different thermal and microhabitat preferences and active body temperatures. Eremias argus and E. multiocellata, which have lower body temperatures than P. przewalskii, depend on higher RMR and locomotion to compensate for their lower body temperatures in field conditions. | 18 | Shizhenqing granule stimulates the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis and reduces serum pro-inflammatory factors in a rat model with chronic eczema显示文摘Objective:In this study,we examined the effects of Shizhenqing granule(SZQG)on hypothalamicpituitary-adrenal(HPA)axis and serum inflammatory factors in a rat model of chronic eczema,in order to explore the mechanism of action of SZQG in treatment of this disease.Methods:Sixty SpragueeDawley male rats were randomly divided into six groups(with 10 rats per group):blank group;model group;positive control group(prednisone);and the low-,medium-,and high-dose SZQG groups.Except for the blank group,rats in all other groups were treated with 2,4-dinitrochlorobenzene to induce chronic eczema.These rats were administered prednisone or SZQG for 7 consecutive days after successful establishment of the chronic eczema model,and samples were collected 12 h after the last administration.The degree of skin lesions and the changes in serum levels of corticotropin-releasing hormone(CRH),adrenocorticotropic hormone(ACTH),cortisol(CORT),interleukin(IL)-4,interferon(IFN)-g,IL-25,and IL-31 among the groups were compared.Results:SZQG effectively increased the levels of CRH,ACTH,and CORT,which decreased in the serum of rats with chronic eczema,stimulated the function of the HPA axis,and promoted the expression of glucocorticoids.SZQG reduced the serum levels of inflammatory factors including IL-4,IL-25 and IL-31,which were overexpressed in rats with chronic eczema,and increased those of anti-inflammatory factor IFN-g,thereby alleviating the inflammatory symptoms and itching,and ameliorating the clinical symptoms of chronic eczema.Conclusion:SZQG effectively alleviates skin lesions in the chronic eczema rat model by stimulating the function of the HPA axis. | Jinrui Lu Xiaoyan Liu Yao Xiao Shuran Ma | 2020 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medical Sciences2020,7,4: | 1 |
