2NMR-based damage characterisation of backfill material in host rock under dynamic loading显示文摘It is not uncommon that backfill material used in underground mining being exposed to repetitive dynamic stresses induced by blasting operations or rockburst events. Understanding the strength and fracture evolution of backfilled stopes is critical to maintain the long-term stope stability and ensure safe mining activities. This paper aims to study the damage evolution of the backfill material and its host rock behaviour under three-dimensional(3D) dynamic loading. Using a true-triaxial testing machine, multiple samples of backfill material enclosed by country rock were fabricated and tested under various dynamic loadings with different true-triaxial confining stress conditions. In addition, the nuclear magnetic resonance(NMR) measurement was conducted on the samples before and after exerting static and dynamic loading to obtain their porosity distribution changes. The experiment results suggested that with the increase of the dynamic loading, the porosity of the backfill sample goes through a two-stage process,which shows a slightly linear decrease and then followed by an exponential increase. 5Recent progress on MOF-derived carbon materials for energy storage显示文摘Metal-organic frameworks(MOFs)are of quite a significance in the field of inorganic-organic hybrid crystals.Especially,MOFs have attracted increasing attention in recent years due to their large specific surface area,desirable electrical conductivity,controllable porosity,tunable geometric structure,and excellent thermal/chemical stability.Some recent studies have shown that carbon materials prepared by MOFs as precursors can retain the privileged structure of MOFs,such as large specific surface area and porous structure and,in contrast,realize in situ doping with heteroatoms(eg,N,S,P,and B).Moreover,by selecting appropriate MOF precursors,the composition and morphology of the carbon products can be easily adjusted.These remarkable structural advantages enable the great potential of MOF-derived carbon as high-performance energy materials,which to date have been applied in the fields of energy storage and conversion systems.In this review,we summarize the latest advances in MOF-derived carbon materials for energy storage applications.We first introduce the compositions,structures,and synthesis methods of MOF-derived carbon materials,and then discuss their applications and potentials in energy storage systems,including rechargeable lithium/sodium-ion batteries,lithium-sulfur batteries,supercapacitors,and so forth,in detail.Finally,we put forward our own perspectives on the future development of MOF-derived carbon materials.Jincan Ren Yalan Huang He Zhu Binghao Zhang Hekang Zhu Shenghui Shen Guoqiang Tan Feng Wu Hao He Si Lan Xinhui Xia Qi Liu 2020Carbon Energy2020,2,2:8
6Association of Overlapped and Un-overlapped Comorbidities with COVID-19 Severity and Treatment Outcomes: A Retrospective Cohort Study from Nine Provinces in China显示文摘Objective Several COVID-19 patients have overlapping comorbidities. The independent role of each component contributing to the risk of COVID-19 is unknown, and how some non-cardiometabolic comorbidities affect the risk of COVID-19 remains unclear.Methods A retrospective follow-up design was adopted. A total of 1,160 laboratory-confirmed patients were enrolled from nine provinces in China. Data on comorbidities were obtained from the patients’ medical records. Multivariable logistic regression models were used to estimate the odds ratio(OR) and 95% confidence interval(95% CI) of the associations between comorbidities(cardiometabolic or non-cardiometabolic diseases), clinical severity, and treatment outcomes of COVID-19.Results Overall, 158(13.6%) patients were diagnosed with severe illness and 32(2.7%) had unfavorable outcomes. Hypertension(2.87, 1.30–6.32), type 2 diabetes(T2 DM)(3.57, 2.32–5.49),cardiovascular disease(CVD)(3.78, 1.81–7.89), fatty liver disease(7.53, 1.96–28.96), hyperlipidemia(2.15, 1.26–3.67), other lung diseases(6.00, 3.01–11.96), and electrolyte imbalance(10.40, 3.00–26.10)were independently linked to increased odds of being severely ill. T2 DM(6.07, 2.89–12.75), CVD(8.47,6.03–11.89), and electrolyte imbalance(19.44, 11.47–32.96) were also strong predictors of unfavorable outcomes. Women with comorbidities were more likely to have severe disease on admission(5.46,3.25–9.19), while men with comorbidities were more likely to have unfavorable treatment outcomes(6.58, 1.46–29.64) within two weeks.Conclusion Besides hypertension, diabetes, and CVD, fatty liver disease, hyperlipidemia, other lung diseases, and electrolyte imbalance were independent risk factors for COVID-19 severity and poor treatment outcome. 7Novel high-resolution DOA estimation using subspace projection method显示文摘The performance of multiple signal classification(MUSIC) algorithm with regard to solving closely spaced direction of arrivals(DOAs) depends strongly upon the signal-to-noise ratio(SNR) and snapshots.In order to solve this problem,a method by reconstructing the spatial spectrum function with both noise subspace and signal subspace is presented in this paper.The key idea is to apply the full information contained in covariance matrix and change the projection weights of steering vector on the noise and signal subspace by their revised eigenvalues,respectively.Comparing with the MUSIC algorithm,it does not increase any computational complexity either,and remarkably,it has the advantages of simultaneously reducing noise and keeping the high-resolution ability under low SNR and small sample sized scenarios.Simulation and experiment results are included to demonstrate the superior performance of the proposed algorithm.SI Wei-jian LAN Xiao-yu ZOU Yan 2012The Journal of China Universities of Posts and Telecommunications2012,19,4:6

9Allicin as add-on therapy for Helicobacter pylori infection: A systematic review and meta-analysis显示文摘BACKGROUND Allicin(2-propene-1-sulfinothioic acid S-2-propenyl ester,diallyl thiosulfinate)extracted from garlic,has proven activity against Helicobacter pylori(H.Pylori)infection.In recent years,clinical trials have explored its utility as an add-on therapy with variable outcomes reported.AIM To perform a systemic review of allicin as an add-on treatment for H.Pylori infection and assess its efficacy in randomized controlled trials(RCTs).METHODS Electronic databases including MEDLINE,EMBASE,the Web of Science,the Cochrane Database,the China National Knowledge Infrastructure Database,Chinese VIP Information Databases,Chinese Medical Databases,and the Wan-Fang Database were searched for keywords including“allicin”,“Helicobacter pylori”,“randomized clinical trials”,and their synonyms.A meta-analysis was performed using the fixed-effects model for low heterogeneity and the randomeffects model for high heterogeneity with sensitivity analysis.Bias was evaluated using Egger’s tests.Trial sequential analysis(TSA)was used to evaluate information size and treatment benefits.The Grading of Recommendations Assessment,Development and Evaluation(GRADE)was used to assess the level of quality,and studies were classed as“high quality”,“moderate quality”,“low quality”,and“very low quality”.RESULTS A total of eight RCTs consisting of 867 participants(435 from the allicin group and 432 from the control group)were included.Eradication rate in the allicin group(93.33%,406/435)was significantly higher than that of the control group(83.56%,361/432)[I2=0%,odds ratio(OR)=2.75,95%confidence interval(CI):1.74-4.35,P<0.001].The healing rate of ulcers following H.pylori therapy in the allicin group(86.17%,349/405)was significantly higher than that of the control group(75.87%,305/402)[I2=0%,OR=2.05,95%CI:1.39-3.03,P<0.001].The total remission rate of peptic ulcers across all allicin groups was 95.99%,which was significantly higher than that of controls[95.99%(359/374)vs 89.25%(332/372),I2=0,heterogeneity P=0.84,OR=3.13,95%CI:1.51-6.51,P=0.002].No significant differences in side effects were observed.TSA suggested that the trials were of sufficient standard to draw reliable conclusions.The quality of outcomes including eradication rates and side effects was graded as“very low”due to downgrades for“risk of bias”and“indirectness”.Other outcomes such as ulcer healing rates and total ulcer remission rates were graded as'low'due to downgrades for“risk of bias”.CONCLUSION Allicin as an add-on therapy improves H.pylori eradication,healing of ulcers,and remission of symptoms.These results are suggested to be treated with caution due to limited quality.Xiao-Bei Si Xu-Min Zhang Shuai Wang Yu Lan Shuo Zhang Lin-Yu Huo 2019World Journal of Gastroenterology2019,25,39:5
10In situ scattering study of multiscale structural evolution during liquid–liquid phase transition in Mg-based metallic glasses显示文摘The glass-forming ability of Mg-Cu-Gd alloys could be significantly promoted with the addition of Ag.A calorimetric anomaly could be observed in the supercooled liquid region of the Mg-Cu-Ag-Gd metallic glass,indicating the occurrence of a liquid-state phase transition driven by entropy.However,the underlying mechanism of the polyamorphous phase transition remains unsettled.In the paper,in situ scattering techniques were employed to reveal multiscale structure evidence in a Mg65Cu15Ag10Gd10metallic glass with an anomalous exothermic peak upon heating.Resistivity measurements indicate a reentrant behavior for the Mg-Cu-Ag-Gd metallic glass in the anomalous exothermic peak temperature region during heating.In situ synchrotron diffraction results revealed that the local atomic structure tends to be ordered and loosely packed first,followed by reentering into the initial state upon heating.Moreover,time-resolved small-angle synchrotron X-ray scattering(SAXS) results show an increase in nanoscale heterogeneity first followed by a reentrant supercooled liquid behavior.A core-shell structure model has been used to fit the SAXS profiles when polyamorphous phase transition occurs.In contrast,there is no structure anomaly for the reference Mg-Cu-Gd alloy system.The detailed multiscale structural evidence suggests the occurrence of a liquid-liquid phase transition followed by a reentrant behavior in the MgCu-Ag-Gd metallic glass.Our results deepen the understanding of the structural origin of the glass-forming ability and shed light on the possibility of tuning the physical and mechanical properties by heat-treatment in the supercooled liquid region of Mg-based metallic glasses.Kang-Hua Li Jia-Cheng Ge Si-Nan Liu Shu Fu Zi-Xuan Yin Wen-Tao Zhang Guo-Xing Chen Shao-Chong Wei Hua Ji Tao Feng Qi Liu Xun-Li Wang Xiao-Bing Zuo Yang Ren Horst Hahn Si Lan 2021Rare Metals2021,40,11:3

12Construction of a DNA library from chromosome 4 of rice(Oryza sativa)by microdissection显示文摘A simple method to create a chromosome-specific DNA library of rice, including microdissection, amplification,characterization and cloning, is described. Rice chromosome 4 from a metaphase cell has been isolated and amplified by the Linker Adapter PCR (LA-PCR). The PCR products were labeled as probes with DIG-11-dUTP using the random priming method.Southern blot analysis with rice genomic DNA and specific RFLP markers demonstrated that the PCR products were derived from rice chromosome 4. A large library comprising over 100,000recombinant plasmid microclones from rice chromosome 4was constructed. Colony hybridization showed that 58% of the clones contained single or low-copy sequences and 42%contained repetitive sequences. 14Experimental Study on Analgesia and Hemostasis of Paris polyphylla,Scutellaria baicalensis and Their Compatibility显示文摘[Objectives]The analgesic and hemostatic effects of Paris polyphylla,Scutellaria baicalensis,and their compatibility were studied.[Methods](i)In the experiment on the writhing of mice induced by acetic acid,60 Kunming SPF mice were randomly selected,and were randomly divided into 6 groups according to the male-to-female ratio of 1∶1,including blank control group,P.polyphylla group,S.baicalensis group,and three P.polyphylla and S.baicalensis compatibility groups(with the ratio of 1∶2,1∶1 and 1∶2).There were 10 mice in each group.In the experimental groups,the mice were given 1 g/mL Chinese medicine extract according to a dose of 20 mL/kg.In the control group,the mice were given 0.9%normal saline in equal volumes.Gavage was performed one time every 24 h and lasted for 14 d.1 h after the gavage on the 14th day,they were given 0.5%glacial acetic acid solution via intraperitoneal injection.(ii)In the hot plate experiment,60 Kunming SPF mice were selected,and the ratio of male to female,grouping,administration and gavage were the same as those of the glacial acetic acid-induced writhing experiment.Gavage was lasted for 14 d.1 h after the gavage on the 14th day,the mice were placed on a hot plate apparatus at(55±0.5)℃,and the time of licking hindfoot was measured.(iii)The hemostatic effect was explored through three experimental methods of tail hemostasis,femoral artery hemostasis and liver hemostasis.60 Kunming SPF mice were taken in each of the three experiments,and the male-female ratio and grouping were the same as above.The powder was covered on the surface of the wound sites,and the bleeding was observed.The hemostatic time was recorded,and the hemostatic time was recorded as 3 min if it exceeded 3 min.[Results](i)In the acetic acid-induced writhing experiment,compared with the blank control group,the pain of mice in the experimental groups was inhibited.Among them,P.polyphylla group,S.baicalensis group,compatibility 1∶2 group,compatibility 1∶1 group,and compatibility 2∶1 group had significant effects(P<0.05),and the inhibition rate of writhing was 20.43%,28.32%,52.30%,32.79%,and 39.02%,respectively.The analgesic effect of the compatibility 1∶2 group was the most obvious.(ii)In the hot plate experiment,compared with the blank control group,the experimental groups had analgesic effect.Among them,P.polyphylla group,S.baicalensis group,compatibility 1∶2 group,compatibility 1∶1 group,and compatibility 2∶1 group had significant effects(P<0.05),and the increase rate of pain threshold was 29.17%,47.83%,61.54%,and 50.61%,and 53.83%,respectively.The analgesic effect of the compatibility 2∶1 group was the most significant.(iii)In the hemostatic experiment,there was a significant difference in hemostatic time between the compatibility 1∶2 group and the blank control group,P.polyphylla group,and S.baicalensis group(P<0.05).The hemostatic effect of the compatibility 1∶2 group was the best.[Conclusions]P.polyphylla,S.baicalensis,and its compatibility had good analgesic and hemostatic effects,and the best compatibility ratio was 1∶2.Shibo ZHAO Suoyi HUANG Zhenjing SI Lanlan GAN Shusheng HUANG Ye FU Jianjie LAN Xueying YU Yuekong CEN 2020Medicinal Plant2020,11,2:2
15LMP2-DC Vaccine Elicits Specific EBV-LMP2 Response to Effectively Improve Immunotherapy in Patients with Nasopharyngeal Cancer显示文摘Objective To evaluate the safety and effectiveness of a vaccine based on latent membrane protein 2(LMP2)modified dendritic cells(DCs)that boosts specific responses of cytotoxic T lymphocytes(CTLs)to LMP2 before and after intradermal injection in patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma(NPC).Methods DCs were derived from peripheral blood monocytes of patients with NPC.We prepared LMP2-DCs infected by recombinant adenovirus vector expressing LMP2(rAd-LMP2).NPC patients were immunized with 2×105 LMP2-DCs by intradermal injection at week 0 and after the second and fourth weeks.Specific responses to LMP2 were detected by enzyme-linked immunospot(ELISPOT)assay at week 0 and at the fifth and eighth weeks.Local clinicians performed the follow-up and tracking of patients.Results We demonstrated that DCs derived from monocytes displayed typical DC morphologies;the expression of LMP2 in the LMP2-DCs vaccine was confirmed by immunocytochemical assay.Twenty-nine patients with NPC were enrolled in this clinical trial.The LMP2-DCs vaccine was well tolerated in all of the patients.Boosted responses to LMP2 peptide sub-pools were observed in 18 of the 29 patients with NPC.The follow-up data of 29 immunized patients from April,2010 to April 2015 indicated a five-year survival rate of 94.4%in responders and 45.5%in non-responders.Conclusion In this pilot study,we demonstrated that the LMP2-DCs vaccine is safe and effective in patients with NPC.Specific CTLs responses to LMP2 play a certain role in controlling and preventing the recurrence and metastasis of NPC,which warrants further clinical testing.ZENG Yi SI Yong Feng LAN Gui Ping WANG Zhan ZHOU Ling TANG Min Zhong SJ O`Brien LAN Jiao ZHOU Xiang Yang WANG Yong Li TANG Juan ZHOU Zhi Xiang DU Hai Jun LIN Hui 2020Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2020,33,11:2
16“Ferrero-like”nanoparticles knotted injectable hydrogels to initially scavenge ROS and lastingly promote vascularization in infarcted hearts显示文摘Myocardial infarction(MI)exhibits a complicated and ever-accelerated pathological change involving excessive reactive oxygen species(ROS)and the up-regulation of pro-inflammatory cytokines in the initial stage,and a permanently inadequate blood supply.Herein,an injectable hydrogel fabricated by nanoparticles(NPs)knotted thiolated hyaluronic acid(HA-SH)was reported to reverse the hostile microenvironment and rebuild the heart functions after MI.Inspired by the composite shell-core structure of Ferrero chocolate sphere,a mimetic nanocarrier was designed to consist of the hydrophobic dimethyloxalylglycine(DMOG)NPs core and a thick polydopamine(PDA)shell formed by the self-polymerization of dopamine embedded with watersoluble drug epigallocatechin-3-gallate(EGCG)throughπ-πinteractions.The resulted'Ferrero-like'NPs exhibited a'three-inone'capacity,namely loading two distinct drugs,elimination of ROS,and serving a crosslinker to knot HA-SH.'Ferrero-like'NPs and HA-SH could rapidly form a hydrogel that exhibited a stable mechanical property,high capability to capture ROS,and programmed release of EGCG and DMOG.Four weeks after deploying the'Ferrero-like'NPs knotted hydrogels into rat infarcted hearts,the ejection fraction(EF)increased by 23.7%,and the infarct size decreased by 21.1%,and the fibrotic area reduced by 24.4%.The outcomes of immunofluorescence staining and reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction(RTPCR)demonstrated a down-regulation of inflammatory factors(tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α),interleukin-1β(IL-1β),interferon-γ(IFN-γ)),up-regulation of vascular related growth factors(hypoxia inducible factor-1α(HIF-1α),vascular endothelial growth factor A(VEGFA),von Willebrand factor(vWF),angiopoietin-1(Ang-1))and cardiac-related m RNAs(gap junction protein(Cx43),Cadherin 2).All in all,in this report,a very simple approach to intertemporally address the intricate and ongoing pathological changes after MI by injecting'Ferrero-like'NPs knotted hydrogels is developed to reverse hostile microenvironment,with an ability to scavenge ROS,down-regulate pro-inflammation factors in the first stage,and promote angiogenesis in a long term,thereby contributing to a significant improvement of heart functions.HAN XiaoXu LI Lan XIE Tian CHEN Si ZOU Yang JIN Xin LI Sheng WANG Meng HAN Ning FAN GuanWei LIU WenGuang WANG Wei 2020Science China(Technological Sciences)2020,63,11:2
17Neural computational modeling reveals a major role of corticospinal gating of central oscillations in the generation of essential tremor显示文摘Essential tremor, also referred to as familial tremor, is an autosomal dominant genetic disease and the most common movement disorder. It typically involves a postural and motor tremor of the hands, head or other part of the body. Essential tremor is driven by a central oscillation signal in the brain. However, the corticospinal mechanisms involved in the generation of essential tremor are unclear. Therefore, in this study, we used a neural computational model that includes both monosynaptic and multisynaptic corticospinal pathways interacting with a propriospinal neuronal network. A virtual arm model is driven by the central oscillation signal to simulate tremor activity behavior. Cortical descending commands are classified as alpha or gamma through monosynaptic or multisynaptic corticospinal pathways, which converge respectively on alpha or gamma motoneurons in the spinal cord. Several scenarios are evaluated based on the central oscillation signal passing down to the spinal motoneurons via each descending pathway. The simulated behaviors are compared with clinical essential tremor characteristics to identify the corticospinal pathways responsible for transmitting the central oscillation signal. A propriospinal neuron with strong cortical inhibition performs a gating function in the generation of essential tremor. 18Broadband flextensional transducer with major axis lengthened显示文摘The bandwidth of the Class IV flextensional transducer is narrow for its high mechanical quality factor.For improving its bandwidth performance,a flextensional transducer with major axis lengthened was proposed by the theory of multiple-mode-coupling based on the oval shell.The transducer driven by novel relaxor ferroelectric single crystal lead magnesium niobate-lead titanate(PMNT)was designed and analysed using finite element software ANSYS and a prototype of the transducer was developed.The transmitting voltage response of the transducer reaches to 136 dB with fluctuation 7.8 dB from 1.6 kHz to 16 kHz.Based on the theoretical analysis and experimental results,it proves that the flextensional transducer with major axis lengthened has a much broader bandwidth than the ClassⅣflextensional transducer combing with the advantages of low frequency and high response.CHEN Si LAN Yu 2012Chinese Journal of Acoustics2012,31,3:1
19Asymmetric interfaces and high-TC ferromagnetic phase in La_(0.67)Ca_(0.33)MnO_(3)/SrRuO_(3)superlattices显示文摘Interfacial magnetism in functional oxide heterostructures not only exhibits intriguing physical phenomena but also implies great potential for device applications.In these systems,interfacial structural and electronic reconstructions are essential for improving the stability and tunability of the magnetic properties.In this work,we constructed ultra-thinLa_(0.67)Ca_(0.33)MnO_(3)/SrRuO_(3)(SRO)layers into superlattices,which exhibited a robust ferromagnetic phase.The high Curie temperature(TC)reaches 291 K,more than 30 K higher than that of bulk LCMO.We found that the LCMO/SRO superlattices consisted of atomically-sharp and asymmetric heterointerfaces.Such a unique interface structure can trigger a sizable charge transfer as well as a ferroelectric-like polar distortion.These two interfacial effects cooperatively stabilized the high-T_(C)ferromagnetic phase.Our results could pave a promising approach towards effective control of interfacial magnetism and new designs of oxide-based spintronic devices.Lili Qu Da Lan Liang Si Chao Ma Shasha Wang Liqiang Xu Kexuan Zhang Feng Jin Zixun Zhang Enda Hua Binbin Chen Guanyin Gao Feng Chen Haifeng Du Karsten Held Lingfei Wang Wenbin Wu 2021Nano Research2021,14,10:1
