1Apoptotic extracellular vesicles are metabolized regulators nurturing the skin and hair显示文摘Over 300 billion of cells die every day in the human body,producing a large number of endogenous apoptotic extracellular vesicles(apoEVs).Also,allogenic stem cell transplantation,a commonly used therapeutic approach in current clinical practice,generates exogenous apoEVs.It is well known that phagocytic cells engulf and digest apoEVs to maintain the body’s homeostasis.In this study,we show that a fraction of exogenous apoEVs is metabolized in the integumentary skin and hair follicles.Mechanistically,apoEVs activate the Wnt/β-catenin pathway to facilitate their metabolism in a wave-like pattern.The migration of apoEVs is enhanced by treadmill exercise and inhibited by tail suspension,which is associated with the mechanical force-regulated expression of DKK1 in circulation.Furthermore,we show that exogenous apoEVs promote wound healing and hair growth via activation of Wnt/β-catenin pathway in skin and hair follicle mesenchymal stem cells.This study reveals a previously unrecognized metabolic pathway of apoEVs and opens a new avenue for exploring apoEV-based therapy for skin and hair disorders.Lan Ma Chider Chen Dawei Liu Zhiqing Huang Jiaqi Li Haixiang Liu Ryan Tsz Kin Kwok Benzhong Tang Bingdong Sui Xiao Zhang Jianxia Tang Xueli Mao Weiying Huang Songtao Shi Xiaoxing Kou 2023Bioactive Materials2023,,1:3

5A facile design for multifunctional AIEgen based on tetraaniline derivatives显示文摘Aniline oligomers have been widely used in many fields due to their excellent physicochemical properties. Owing to strong intermolecular interactions, their emission is always weakened or quenched when they are in high concentration or aggregated state, which greatly limits their fluorescent applications. Inspired by the concept of aggregation-induced emission(AIE), herein we introduced large steric groups onto the aniline oligomer to prevent the formation of packing structure. In particular, diphenyl vinyl group was bonded with oligomeric tetraaniline by a facile synthetic procedure with high yield. The obtained aniline oligomer derivative exhibited typical AIE features, which was also confirmed by density functional theoretical calculation. More importantly, this AIE oligomer was able to detect Fe^(3+) ions selectively and quantitatively. The fluorescence intensity decreased linearly along with the increment of Fe^(3+) concentration. Moreover, we demonstrated that this AIE oligomer could stain live bacteria, such as E. coli and S. aureus efficiently. 16Aggregation-induced emission:Red and near-infrared organic light-emitting diodes显示文摘Red and near-infrared(NIR)organic light-emitting diodes(OLED)have gained remarkable interest due to their numerous applications.However,the construction of highly emissive emitters is hampered by the energy-gap law and aggregation-caused quenching(ACQ)effect.Whereas,aggregationinduced emission(AIE)materials could avoid the undesirable ACQ effect and emit bright light in aggregated state,which is one class of the most promising materials to fabricate high-performance OLED with a high external quantum efficiency and low efficiency roll-off.This review summarizes recent advances in red and NIR OLED with AIE property,including the traditional fluorescence,thermally activated delayed fluorescence,and hybridized local and charge transfer compounds.Meanwhile,the emphasis attention is paid to the molecular design principles,as well as the molecular structure-photophysical characteristics.We also briefly further outlook the challenges and perspective of red and NIR AIE luminogens.Liangjing Tu Yujun Xie Zhen Li Benzhong Tang 2021SmartMat2021,2,3:1

18Non-Aufbau Principle to Achieve High Stability Organic Luminescence Radicals显示文摘To solve the problem of stability of organic luminescence radicals, Li et al. proposed a new kind of organic luminescence radicals with non-Aufbau electronic structure by using donor-acceptor molecular structure. The stability of this kind of radicals was greatly improved and the high luminous efficiency was maintained. Using a non-Aufbau radical as the emission layer of an OLED, the maximum external efficiency of 5.3% has been achieved, which is among the highest efficiencies for pure organic near-intrared electroluminescence. 201-((12-Bromododecyl)oxy)-4-((4-(4-pentylcyclohexyl) phenyl)ethynyl) benzene:Liquid crystal with aggregation-induced emission characteristics显示文摘The luminescent liquid crystals(LLCs)are expected to solve the conflicts between the aggregation caused quenching and the requirement of aggregation or self-organization for LCs.Herein,we developed a new strategy of applying aggregation-induced emission(AIE)phenomenon to the molecular design of LCs towards LLCs.In this report,a calamitic liquid crystal based on tolane with AIE characteristics was successfully synthesized and the chemical structure was characterized by1H,13C NMR,and matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time-of-flight(MALDI-TOF)high-resolution mass spectra.The fluorescence behavior was studied by fluorescence spectroscopy and the liquid crystal phase behaviors were investigated by differential scanning calorimetry(DSC),polarized optical microscopy(POM).The crystal structure was obtained by X-ray diffraction crystallography with P1 space group.Results demonstrated that the sample was AIE active and the LC phases sequence during cooling was nematic,smectic C and smectic B phase.CHEN YaFei LIN JieSheng YUAN WangZhang YU ZhenQiang LAM Jacky WingYip TANG BenZhong 2013中国科学:化学2013,43,9:0
