Biomarker Records of Phytoplankton Productivity and Community Structure Changes in the Central Yellow Sea Mud Area During the Mid-Late Holocene显示文摘The Yellow Sea(YS)environmental and ecological changes during the Holocene are driven by the interactions between the Yellow Sea Warm Current(YSWC),the East Asian Winter Monsoon(EAWM)and the Kuroshio Current(KC).We report marine biomarker records of brassicasterol, dinosterol and C37 alkenones in core ZY1 and core ZY2 from the South Yellow Sea(SYS)to reconstruct the spatial/temporal variations and possible mechanisms of phytoplankton primary productivity and community structure changes during the Mid-late Holocene. The contents of the corresponding biomarkers in the two cores are similar, and they also reveal broadly similar temporal trends. From 6 kyr to 3 kyr,the biomarker contents in the two cores were relatively low with small oscillations, followed by a distinct increase at about 3 kyr indicating productivity increases caused by a stronger EAWM.The alkenone/brassicasterol ratio(A/B)is used as a community structure proxy, which also showed higher values in both cores since 3 kyr, indicating increased haptophyte contribution to total productivity. It is proposed that the YS community structure has been mainly influenced by the YSWC,with stronger YSWC influences causing an increase in haptophyte contribution since 3 kyr. Some differences of the biomarker records between ZY2 and ZY1 suggest spatial variations in response to YSWC and KC forcing. When the KC was intensified during the periods of 6 4.2 kyr and 1.7 0 kyr,the YSWC extended eastward, exerting more influence on core ZY1.On the other hand, when the KC weakened during 4.2 1.7 kyr,the YSWC extended westward, exerting more influence on the ZY2. | ZHAO Xiaochen TAO Shuqin ZHANG Rongping ZHANG Hailong YANG Zuosheng ZHAO Meixun | 2013 | Journal of Ocean University of China2013,12,4: | 11
Biomarker evidence for changes in terrestrial organic matter input into the Yellow Sea mud area during the Holocene显示文摘We present lipid biomarker records of two cores(ZY1 and ZY3) from the central South Yellow Sea mud area to investigate the changes in sources and transport processes of the sedimentary organic matter(OM) throughout the Holocene. Based on the analysis of marine biomarker content(SPB(Phytoplankton Biomarker, total content of brassicasterol, dinosterol and C_(37)-alkenones) and crenarchaeol), and terrestrial biomarkers(Sn-alkanols and br GDGTs) as well as TMBR′ and BIT index values, the marine organic matter(MOM) and terrestrial organic matter(TOM) deposition history was reconstructed. Changes in TOM and MOM were related to variations in land vegetation density and marine productivity, as well as transport processes dominated by the oceanic circulation system. The marine biomarker contents from the South Yellow Sea have generally increased throughout the Holocene, indicating that the increased MOM contents were mainly controlled by the strengthening of the circulation system. The terrestrial biomarkers, on the other hand, were more variable, indicating more complex influence of TOM burial in the Yellow Sea. During the Early Holocene(7200–6000 cal yr BP), the moderate TOM input revealed by the terrestrial proxy records may result from abundant land source supply by strong river transport despite the lack of transport via circulation system. The Mid-Holocene(6000–3000 cal yr BP) was characterized by decreased terrestrial biomarker contents. The balance between the decrease in land source supply and increase of transportation by the current system of the TOM resulted in the lower but stable contents of TOM. During the Late Holocene(3000 cal yr BP to present), the TOM deposition in the South Yellow Sea increased as the current system was further enhanced and thus transported more TOM to the central South Yellow Sea, although the land supply of TOM was further reduced. | WU Peng XIAO XiaoTong TAO ShuQin YANG ZuoSheng ZHANG HaiLong LI Li ZHAO MeiXuna | 2016 | Science China Earth Sciences2016,59,6: | 6
Proprotein convertase 1 mRNA and protein expression in ischemic rat cortex after reperfusion显示文摘Proprotein convertase 1(PC1) is a member of the family of proprotein convertases(PCs),which are the processing enzymes of neuropeptides.Previous studies have addressed PC1 effects with regard to the neuroendocrine system. In this study, the developing changes of PC1 mRNA and PC1 protein in rat cortices after transient focal cerebral ischemia were investigated by fluorescent double labeling(both in situ hybridization and immunocytochemistry) using a transient focal cerebral ischemia model in rats. The results were compared with those of sham-operated rat cortices. Both the mRNA and protein levels of PC1 in ischemic cortices decreased gradually at 4,8,and 16 hours of reperfusion after 100 minutes of middle cerebral artery occlusion. After 24 hours of reperfusion, enhanced intensities of signals for PC1 protein were observed, while signals for PC1 mRNA remained low. These results suggest that transient focal cerebral ischemia influences PC1 mRNA and protein expression in cortices of ischemic rats.Thus,PC1 is regulated by ischemic stress. | Shuqin Zhan An Zhou Jingquan Lan Tao Yang | 2011 | Neural Regeneration Research2011,6,4: | 2
Changes in proprotein convertase subtilisin/kexin type 9 mRNA expression in rat cortex after cerebral ischemia显示文摘Oxidized low density lipoprotein is a risk factor for cerebrovascular disease.Proprotein convertase subtilisin/kexin type 9(PCSK9) can increase the level of low density lipoprotein. Therefore, this study assumed that PCSK9 plays important roles in ischemic cerebrovascular disease. The present study established transient focal cerebral ischemia models after 100 minutes of middle cerebral artery occlusion. In situ hybridization demonstrated that PCSK9 mRNA expression increased gradually with prolonged reperfusion time in ischemic cortices. This indicated that transient focal cerebral ischemia upregulated PCSK9 mRNA expression in ischemic cortices. | Shuqin Zhan An Zhou Jingquan Lan Tao Yang | 2011 | Neural Regeneration Research2011,6,13: | 0
Dynamic changes in proprotein convertase 2 activity in cortical neurons after ischemia/reperfusion and oxygen-glucose deprivation显示文摘In this study, a rat model of transient focal cerebral ischemia was established by performing 100 minutes of middle cerebral artery occlusion, and an in vitro model of experimental oxygen-glucose deprivation using cultured rat cortical neurons was established. Proprotein convertase 2 activity gradually decreased in the ischemic cortex with increasing duration of reperfusion. In cultured rat cortical neurons, the number of terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase-mediated 2'-deoxyuridine 5'-triphosphate-biotin nick end labeling-positive neurons significantly increased and proprotein convertase 2 activity also decreased gradually with increasing duration of oxygen-glucose deprivation. These experimental findings indicate that proprotein convertase 2 activity decreases in ischemic rat cortex after reperfusion, as well as in cultured rat cortical neurons after oxygen-glucose deprivation. These changes in enzyme activity may play an important pathological role in brain injury. | Shuqin Zhan An Zhou Chelsea Piper Tao Yang | 2013 | Neural Regeneration Research2013,8,1: | 0
All-solid anti-resonant single crystal fibers显示文摘In this paper,a novel all-solid anti-resonant single crystal fiber(AR-SCF)with high refractive index tubes cladding is proposed.By producing the cladding tubes with high refractive index material, the AR guiding mechanism can be realized for the SCF,which can reduce the mode number to achieve single-mode or few-mode transmission. The influences of dif-ferent materials and structures on the confinement loss and effective guided mode number for wavelengths of 2-3μm are investigated. Then, the optimal AR-SCF structures for different wavelengths are determined.Furthermore, the influences of different fabrication errors are analyzed. This work would provide insight to new opportunities in the novel design of SCFs by AR,which would greatly impact the fields of laser application, supercontinum generation, and SCF sensors. | Jinmin Ding Fanchao Meng Xiaoting Zhao Xin Wang Shuqin Lou Xinzhi Sheng Luyun Yang Guangming Tao Sheng Liang | 2022 | Frontiers of Optoelectronics2022,15,1: | 0

Genome-Wide Identification, Evolution and Expression Analyses of GA2ox Gene Family in Brassica napus L.显示文摘Gibberellin 2-oxidases(GA2ox)are important enzymes that maintain the balance of bioactive GAs in plants.GA2ox genes have been identified and characterized in many plants, but these genes were not investigated in Brassica napus. Here,we identified 31 GA2ox genes in B.napus and 15 of these BnaGA2ox genes were distributed in the A and C subgenomes.Subcellular localization predictions suggested that all BnaGA2ox proteins were localized in the cytoplasm, and gene structure analysis showed that the BnaGA2ox genes contained 2–4 exons.Phylogenetic analysis indicated that BnGA2ox family proteins in monocotyledons and dicotyledons can be divided into four groups, including two C_(19)-GA2ox and two C_(20)-GA2ox clades.Group 4 is a C_(20)-GA2ox Class discovered recently. Most BnaGA2ox genes had a syntenic relationship with AtGA2ox genes.BnaGA2ox genes in the C subgenome had experienced stronger selection pressure than genes in the A subgenome.BnaGA2ox genes were highly expressed in specific tissues such as those involved in growth and development, and most of them were mainly involved in abiotic responses, regulation of phytohormones and growth and development. Our study provided a valuable evolutionary analysis of GA2ox genes in monocotyledons and dicotyledons,as well as an insight into the biological functions of GA2ox family genes in B.napus. | Yanhua Li Hualei Huang Youming Shi Shuqin Huang Tao Liu Changming Xiao Xiaoqing Tian Ping Zhao Xiaoyan Dai Taocui Huang Yan Zhou | 2023 | Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany2023,92,3: | 0
