| 1 | Estimates of genetic and phenotypic parameters for weight and length in Paralichthys olivaceus(Temminck et Schlegel)显示文摘The complete diallel cross design was employed to estimate the genetic parameters of the growth of Japanese flounder (Paralichthys olivaceus). A total of 60 full-sib families were cultivated and two growth-related traits, body weight (BW) and body length (BL), were examined at average 2, 3 and 8 months of age respectively, with 1 800 individuals measured in each age group (30 per family). Based on the additive-dominance-maternal-effect genetic analysis model, the restricted maximum likelihood approach was used to estimate various (co)variance components. The results showed that narrow-sense heritability estimates of BW and BL were respectively: 0.29 ± 0.01 and 0.22 ± 0.02 at 2 months of age, 0.32 ± 0.02 and 0.30 ± 0.04 at 3 months of age, 0.48 ± 0.04 and 0.40 ± 0.05 at 8 months of age; broad-sense heritability estimates were respectively: 0.44 ± 0.02 and 0.54 ± 0.04 at 2 months of age, 0.35 ± 0.01 and 0.36 ± 0.03 at 3 months of age, 0.49 ± 0.03 and 0.45 ± 0.04. All heritabilities were statistically significant (P <0.05). Additive genetic correlations between BW and BL at 2, 3 and 8 months of age were consistently positive and highly significant (P <0.01): 0.93 ± 0.02, 0.95 ± 0.03 and 0.92 ± 0.03 respectively. Maternal effect was significant (P <0.05) only at 2 months of age, and was not detected at 3 and 8 months of age. | 5 | Hierarchically wood-derived integrated electrode with tunable superhydrophilic/superaerophobic surface for efficient urea electrolysis显示文摘Conferring surfaces with superhydrophilic/superaerophobic characteristics is desirable for synthesizing efficient gas reaction catalysts.However,complicated procedures,high costs,and poor interfaces hinder commercialization.Here,an integrated electrode with tunable wettability derived from a hierarchically porous wood scaffold was well designed for urea oxidation reaction(UOR).Interestingly,the outer surface of the wood lumen was optimized to the preferred wettability via stoichiometry to promote electrolyte permeation and gas escape.This catalyst exhibits outstanding activity and durability for UOR in alkaline media,requiring only a potential of 1.36 V(vs.RHE)to deliver 10 m A cm^(-2)and maintain its activity without significant decay for 60 h.These experiments and theoretical calculations demonstrate that the nickel(oxy)hydroxide layer formed through surface reconstruction of nickel nanoparticles improves the active sites and intrinsic activity.Moreover,the superwetting properties of the electrode promote mass transfer by guaranteeing substantial contact with the electrolyte and accelerating the separation of gaseous products during electrocatalysis.These findings provide the understanding needed to manipulate the surface wettability through rational design and fabrication of efficient electrocatalysts for gas-evolving processes. | Yu Liao Songlin Deng Yan Qing Han Xu Cuihua Tian Yiqiang Wu | 2023 | Journal of Energy Chemistry2023，，1： | 1 |

| 8 | Disrupted tenogenesis in masseter as a potential cause of micrognathia显示文摘Micrognathia is a severe craniofacial deformity affecting appearance and survival. Previous studies revealed that multiple factors involved in the osteogenesis of mandibular bone have contributed to micrognathia, but concerned little on factors other than osteogenesis. In the current study, we found that ectopic activation of Fgf8 by Osr2-cre in the presumptive mesenchyme for masseter tendon in mice led to micrognathia, masseter regression, and the disrupted patterning and differentiation of masseter tendon. Since Myf5-cre;Rosa26R-Fgf8 mice exhibited the normal masseter and mandibular bone, the possibility that the micrognathia and masseter regression resulted directly from the over-expressed Fgf8 was excluded. Further investigation disclosed that a series of chondrogenic markers were ectopically activated in the developing Osr2-cre;Rosa26R-Fgf8 masseter tendon, while the mechanical sensing in the masseter and mandibular bone was obviously reduced. Thus, it suggested that the micrognathia in Osr2-cre;Rosa26R-Fgf8 mice resulted secondarily from the reduced mechanical force transmitted to mandibular bone. Consistently,when tenogenic or myogenic components were deleted from the developing mandibles, both the micrognathia and masseter degeneration took place with the decreased mechanical sensing in mandibular bone, which verified that the loss of mechanical force transmitted by masseter tendon could result in micrognathia. Furthermore, it appeared that the micrognathia resulting from the disrupted tenogenesis was attributed to the impaired osteogenic specification, instead of the differentiation in the periosteal progenitors. | 11 | Leprosy without typical skin involvement but with concurrent tuberculosis: a case report显示文摘Leprosy is characterized by skin lesions and peripheral nerve damage. It may take a long time before the diagnosis can be confirmed if the patients have no typical skin involvements. Here we report an unusual case. A 40-year-old male with lepromatous leprosy showed a gradual onset of bilateral symmetrical neuropathies without characteristic skin manifestations seven years after onset and with pulmonary tuberculosis simultaneously. He was misdiagnosed as having Guillani-Barré syndrome and systemic necrotizing vasculitis for 10 years until the skin biopsy was performed. | 13 | Crustal P-and S-Wave Velocity Structure of the North China Craton at 36°N from Active-Source Seismic Data and Its Tectonic Implications显示文摘We present crustal models for seismic P-waves(Vp),S-waves(Vs)and the Vp/Vs ratio across the southern North China Craton along latitude 36°N.Our results are based on inverse and forward modeling of long-range wide-angle reflection/refraction data.The crust of the southern Ordos Block has high lower crustal velocity(7.0 km/s)and a Moho depth of~42 km.In contrast,thick sediments and a lower average velocity(compared with the Ordos block)found underneath the Shanxi Graben are likely to be the products of rifting that has occurred since the Cenozoic.Steep Moho dips,exposed basement rock and higher average crustal velocity beneath the Lüliang Mountain and the Taihang Mountain are characteristic of an orogenic belt.The Tanlu fault and the Liaocheng-Lankao fault show sharp crustal velocity variations and a Moho offset.This seismic profile sampled the entire region of the Eastern North China Craton where the cratonic root has been destroyed and the unique crustal structure is correlated with the substantially modified lithosphere.Our crustal seismic velocity model shows a strong correspondence between surface geology,local tectonics and the deep crustal structure. | Xiaofeng Tian Walter DMooney Xiaoguo Deng Songlin Li Baofeng Liu Hanqi Liu | 2022 | Journal of Earth Science2022，33，3： | 0 |
| 14 | Nomogram for predicting the overall survival of patients after D2/R0 resection and chemoradiotherapy for stage Ⅲ gastric cancer or gastroesophageal junction cancer显示文摘Objective:To explore the independent factors associated with the overall survival(OS)after D2/R0 resection and adjuvant chemoradiotherapy(CRT)for stage Ⅲ gastric cancer(GC)and gastroesophageal junction(GEJ)cancer,and establish and validate a nomogram model to predict the OS in this patient population.Methods:A total of 569 stage Ⅲ GC or GEJ cancer patients who underwent D2/R0 resection and adjuvant CRT at our center from January 2013 to May 2018 were retrospectively enrolled in this study.The patients were randomly divided into training and validation cohorts in a 3:1 ratio.In the training cohort,univariate and multivariate analysis were conducted to identify clinical factors associated with OS,and a nomogram model was established on the basis of the independent factors.The concordance index(C-index)and the calibration curve were used to validate the prediction power of the nomogram.Results:Overall,427 and 142 patients were enrolled in the training and validation cohorts,respectively.In the univariate and multivariate analyses,age,Lauren's classification,TNM stage,and administration of adjuvant CRT were independent factors for OS to construct the nomogram.The C-index values were 0.654 and 0.613 in the training and validation cohorts,respectively.The calibration curves were identical to the actual OS.Risk stratification based on the nomogram model showed good risk stratification for OS in both groups.Conclusion:Our study included adjuvant CRT as a predictive factor and established a nomogram model for predicting the OS in patients with stage III GC or GEJ after D2/R0 resection and adjuvant therapy.This nomogram could facilitate more individualized prediction of OS in clinical practice. | Jinming Shi Wenzhe Kang Songlin Gao Wenyang Liu Yuan Tang Ning Li Qiang Zeng Huiying Ma Haoyue Li Yantao Tian Jing Jin | 2023 | Radiation Medicine and Protection2023，4，3： | 0 |

Microsatellite markers are very suitable for assessing genetic diversity. Four microsatellite-enriched libraries of half smooth tongue sole (Cynoglossus semilaevis) were constructed,from which 57 polymorphic microsatellites were isolated and characterized.The polymorphism of these microsatellites was assessed by genotyping in 30 individual fish.The number of alleles ranged from 2 to 11, with an average of 4.614 alleles per locus.The values of observed and expected heterozygosities ranged from 0.1000 to 1.0000 and from 0.0966 to 0.8847 respectively. | 17 | Molecular Characterization and Expression and DNA Methylation Analyses of a Galectin-Related Protein Gene from Cynoglossus semilaevis显示文摘Galectins,a family of ?-galactoside-binding proteins,participate in both innate immunity and adaptive immunity.This study identified one novel galectin-related protein from half-smooth tongue sole Cynoglossus semilaevis,which was designated as Cs GRP.The full-length c DNA of its encoding gene was 785 bp in length with a 528 bp open reading frame encoding a putative protein of 176 amino acids.The deduced Cs GRP contained a putative 131-aa galactoside-binding lectin domain and 3 critical residues responsible for carbohydrate binding(R^(93),W^(109) and R^(114)).Genomic structural analysis revealed that Cs GRP consisted of five exons and four introns.Cs GRP showed 68% similarity with Poecilia latipinna GRP and 67% similarity with Stegastes partitus GRP.Cs GRP showed the highest expression level in liver,although its expression was detected in all tested tissues.When challenged with Vibrio harveyi,the expression of Cs GRP was significantly down-regulated in liver(P < 0.05).In addition,we found that in spleen and kidney of C.semilaevis,the Cp G island of Cs GRP showed significantly higher(P < 0.05) methylation level in disease-resistant family of C.semilaevis(DR-Cs) than in disease-susceptible ones(DS-Cs).Our results suggested that Cs GRP may play important roles in the immune response of C.semilaevis.Moreover,DNA methylation patterns provided valuable data for understanding the relationship between epigenetic regulation and immunity,which would assist the animal genetic research and improve the animal breeding in the future. | XIU Yunji GAN Tian XU Wenteng SHAO Changwei CHEN Songlin | 2018 | Journal of Ocean University of China2018，17，5： | 0 |
