1Chinese expert consensus on cytoreductive surgery and hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy for peritoneal malignancies显示文摘Locoregional spread of abdominopelvic malignant tumors frequently results in peritoneal carcinomatosis(PC). The prognosis of PC patients treated by conventional systemic chemotherapy is poor, with a median survival of < 6 mo. However, over the past three decades, an integrated treatment strategy of cytoreductive surgery(CRS) + hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy(HIPEC) has been developed by the pioneering oncologists, with proved efficacy and safety in selected patients. Supported by several lines of clinical evidence from phases Ⅰ, Ⅱ and Ⅲ clinical trials, CRS + HIPEC has been regarded as the standard treatment for selected patients with PC in many established cancer centers worldwide. In China, an expert consensus on CRS + HIPEC has been reached by the leading surgical and medical oncologists, under the framework of the China Anti-Cancer Association. 2Hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy for gastric and colorectal cancer in China's Mainland显示文摘AIM:To investigate the current status of peritoneal carcinomatosis(PC) management,as well as the usage of cytoreductive surgery(CRS) and hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy(HIPEC) in China's Mainland.METHODS:A potentially curative therapeutic strategy for selecting patients with PC,known as 'Techniques',consists of CRS in combination with HIPEC.A systemic search of published works and clinical trials was performed.Additional papers were retrieved by crosschecking references and obtaining information from Chinese oncologists and relevant conferences.One hundred and one papers and one registered clinical trial on HIPEC were included.RESULTS:A literature review identified 86 hospitals in 25 out of all 31 areas of China's Mainland that perform HIPEC.The earliest report included in our survey was published in 1993.Different approaches to HIPEC have been utilized,i.e.palliative,prophylactic,and possiblycurative treatment.Only one center has consistently performed HIPEC according to the 'Sugarbaker Protocol',which involves evaluating the extent of PC with peritoneal cancer index and the results of CRS with the completeness of cytoreduction.Positive preliminary results were reported:7 of 21 patients with PC survived,free of tumors,during an 8-43-mo follow-up period.Hyperthermic strategies that include HIPEC have been practiced for a long time in China's Mainland,whereas the 'Sugarbaker Protocol/Techniques' has been only rarely implemented in China.The Peritoneal Surface Oncology Group International hosts a biannual workshop with the intent to train more specialists in this field and provide support for the construction of quality treatment centers,especially in developing countries like China,whose population is huge and has a dramatically increased incidence of cancer.CONCLUSION:To popularize Sugarbaker Protocol/Techniques in China's Mainland in PC management arising from gastric cancer or colorectal cancer will be the responsibility of the upcoming Chinese Peritoneal Surface Oncology Group.Tao Suo Haile Mahteme Xin-Yu Qin 2011World Journal of Gastroenterology2011,17,8:18
3Effects of typhoon Matsa on ionospheric TEC显示文摘The effects of typhoon Matsa on the ionosphere are studied by using GPS-TEC data observed at about 50 GPS stations.It is shown that the ionosphere has been already influenced and TEC tends to increase before the landing of Matsa,and the difference of TEC from its monthly median over the typhoon area is about 5 TECU.With the landing of Matsa,both the magnitude and the area of increased TEC decrease.One day after the landing of Matsa,TEC reaches its minimum and is lower than the monthly median.In comparison of TEC along the typhoon's path with that along three reference paths far from the typhoon,it is found that typhoon's impact on TEC can be fully distinguished.The evolution of TEC variation has the same tendency as reported typhoon-induced foF2.MAO Tian WANG JingSong YANG GuangLin YU Tao PING JinSong SUO YuCheng 2010Chinese Science Bulletin2010,55,8:8
4DYNAMIC MECHANICAL BEHAVIOR OF 6061 AL ALLOY AT ELEVATED TEMPERATURES AND DIFFERENT STRAIN RATES显示文摘The compressive stress-strain relationships of 6061Al alloy over wide temperatures and strain rates are investigated. The dynamic impact experiments are performed using an improved high temperature split Hopkinson pressure bar apparatus. The experimental results are compared with those obtained by the modified Johnson-Cook constitutive model. It is found that the dynamic mechanical behavior depends sensitively on temperature under relatively low strain rates or on strain rate at relatively high temperatures. 5Microglia modulation with 1070-nm light attenuates Aβ burden and cognitive impairment in Alzheimer’s disease mouse model显示文摘Photobiomodulation,by utilizing low-power light in the visible and near-infrared spectra to trigger biological responses in cells and tissues,has been considered as a possible therapeutic strategy for Alzheimer’s disease(AD),while its specific mechanisms have remained elusive.Here,we demonstrate that cognitive and memory impairment in an AD mouse model can be ameliorated by 1070-nm light via reducing cerebralβ-amyloid(Aβ)burden,the hallmark of AD.The glial cells,including microglia and astrocytes,play important roles in Aβclearance.Our results show that 1070-nm light pulsed at 10 Hz triggers microglia rather than astrocyte responses in AD mice.The 1070-nm lightinduced microglia responses with alteration in morphology and increased colocalization with Aβare sufficient to reduce Aβload in AD mice.Moreover,1070-nm light pulsed at 10 Hz can reduce perivascular microglia and promote angiogenesis to further enhance Aβclearance.Our study confirms the important roles of microglia and cerebral vessels in the use of 1070-nm light for the treatment of AD mice and provides a framework for developing a novel therapeutic approach for AD.Lechan Tao Qi Liu Fuli Zhang Yuting Fu Xi Zhu Xiaofu Weng Hongbin Han Yong Huang Yuanzhen Suo Liang Chen Xiaoling Gao Xunbin Wei 2021Light(Science & Applications)2021,10,10:4
6Smoking and the risk of dry eye: a Meta-analysis显示文摘AIM: To collect the evidence to estimate the correlation between smoking and the incidence of dry eye. METHODS: The Pub Med,EMBASE,the Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials(CENTRAL,last issue),CBM(Chinese Bio Medical Literature Database),and CNKI(China National Knowledge Infrastructure/Chinese Academic Journals full-text Database) were searched for eligible studies published from January1964 to December 2015 to investigate the association of smoking with the risk of dry eye.The odds ratio(OR)and 95% confidence interval(CI) were summarized and calculated.The extracted studies were pooled by the fixed-effects model or a random-effects model. RESULTS: Two cohort studies and eight cross-sectional surveys were included in our Meta-analysis.There was no statistically significant relationship between current(OR=1.32; 95% CI: 0.99-1.76; P=0.055)or ever smoking(OR=1.12; 95% CI: 0.98-1.28; P=0.107)and the risk of dry eye among the studies,even when age and gender were adjusted(OR=1.16; 95% CI: 0.83-1.64; P=0.383).In the sensitivity analysis in which only general population were included,the association was significant between smoking and dry eye(OR=1.50; 95%CI: 1.08-2.09; P=0.016).CONCLUSION: This Meta-analysis suggests that smoking may associate with the risk of dry eye in general population.Li Xu Wei Zhang Xiao-Yu Zhu Tao Suo Xian-Qun Fan Yao Fu 2016International Journal of Ophthalmology(English edition)2016,9,10:3
7Adhesive anastomosis for organ transplantation显示文摘The recent development of tough tissue adhesives has stimulated intense interests among material scientists and medical doctors.However,these adhesives have seldom been tested in clinically demanding surgeries.Here we demonstrate adhesive anastomosis in organ transplantation.Anastomosis is commonly conducted by dense sutures and takes a long time,during which all the vessels are occluded.Prolonged occlusion may damage organs and even cause death.We formulate a tough,biocompatible,bioabsorbable adhesive that can sustain tissue tension and pressurized flow.We expose the endothelial surface of vessels onto a gasket,press two endothelial surfaces to the adhesive using a pair of magnetic rings,and reopen the bloodstream immediately.The time for adhesive anastomosis is shortened compared to the time for sutured anastomosis.We have achieved adhesive anastomosis of a great vein in transplanting the liver of a pig.After the surgery,the adhesive is absorbed,the vein heals,and the pig lives for over one month.Kang Liu Hang Yang Gaobo Huang Aihua Shi Qiang Lu Shanpei Wang Wei Qiao Haohua Wang Mengyun Ke Hongfan Ding Tao Li Yanchao Zhang Jiawei Yu Bingyi Ren Rongfeng Wang Kailing Wang Hui Feng Zhigang Suo Jingda Tang Yi Lv 2022Bioactive Materials2022,7,7:3
8High-velocity impact responses of 2618 aluminum plates for engine containment systems under combined actions of projectile form and oblique angle显示文摘Ballistic impact tests were carried out with examined projectiles of the Ti-6Al-4V titanium alloy to investigate the impact response of the 2618 aluminum plates at a nominal velocity of 210 m/s. The influence of projectile forms and oblique angles on damage formation was particularly discussed by applying different loading conditions such as multiple projectile forms and oblique angles. Additionally, the numerical simulation method was employed to provide further insight into the characteristics of damage and target responses. The Johnson-Cook(J-C)constitutive model with revised failure parameters was used to support the simulations to assess target responses and characteristics of the damage created from different impact conditions. Results show that there is a significant transition in the deformation mode as changes of the projectile form are applied. Moreover, the cracks on the back of the 2618 aluminum alloy plates impacted by the solid plate projectile and the hollow blade projectile tend to locate at different positions, which are supposed to be influenced by local bending and stretching. 10Temperature Effect on the Mechanical Behavior of Acrylic Polymers under Quasi-static and Dynamic Loading显示文摘In this paper, the mechanical behavior of acrylic polymers at elevated temperature was investigated. Four acrylic polymers were tested at high strain rate by using compression Hopkinson bar and at quasi-static strain rate by using an Instron servo hydraulic axial testing machine with the testing temperature from 218K to 393K. The results show that the mechanical property of acrylic polymers depends heavily on the testing temperature. The yield stress and Young's modulus were found to decrease with increasing temperature at low strain rate. At very low temperature, the materials display typical brittle fracture; however their plasticity improves remarkably at high temperatures. 12Sirolimus combined with oseltamivir and corticosteroid treatment for a puerpera with severe pneumonia caused by 2009 pandemic H1N1:A case report显示文摘Severe pneumonia in patients infected with the 2009 pandemic H1N1(pH1N1)virus was partially attributed to excessive immune response.Anti-virus treatment for these patients was insufficient.Here we reported the therapy effect of sirolimus,an immunosuppressor,combined with oseltamivir and corticosteroid for a puerpera with severe pneumonia caused by pH1N1 virus.This patient has infected with the pH1N1 virus in late pregnancy,and antiviral therapy was not implemented timely.She developed severe pneumonia and ARDS rapidly and need receive a cesarean section on the 39th week after pregnancy.After giving birth to a healthy baby,she received a combination of oseltamivir,sirolimus and corticosteroid,and improved in the following days.Moreover,the cytokines in serum and viral loads in BALF decreased significantly.She recovered without infectious symptoms and was discharged.Sirolimus combined with oseltamivir and corticosteroid is likely responsible for lowering the viral loads,reducing the patient's cytokine level,and further improving her clinical outcomes.It provides evidence that adjuvant treatment was beneficial to patients with severe pneumonia induced by the pH1N1 virus.Lijun Suo Xiaofeng Yu Yongfeng Hu Hongyun Cao Xiaohui Zou Peiquan Wang Tao Xu Xiangzhi Zhou Yexin Wu Lili Ren Bo Liu Bin Cao 2021Biosafety and Health2021,3,6:2

14TEMPERATURE SENSITIVITY AND PREDICTION OF THE MECHANICAL BEHAVIORS OF ULTRAFINE GRAINED ALUMINUM UNDER UNIAXIAL COMPRESSION显示文摘In the present work, we explore the strain hardening behaviors as well as the effect of temperature on the plastic deformation of ultrafine grained aluminum. The temperature sensitivity is determined and compared with that of coarse grained material. The results indicate that the flow stress of ultrafine grained aluminum displays enhanced sensitivity to temperature. The reduction in activation volume is suggested to be the major reason for the enhanced temperature sensitivity as grain size is refined into the sub-micrometer regime. 18Effect of impact deformation on shape recovery behavior in Fe-Mn-Si shape memory alloy under shape memory training process with cyclic thermo-mechanical loading显示文摘In the past studies, it has been discovered that the shape memory effect(SME) in the Fe-Mn-Si shape memory alloy(Fe-SMA)can gradually be enhanced by a pre-process called as shape memory training process under cyclic thermo-mechanical loading.On the other hand, it has been shown that the SME of Fe-SMA can also be affected by changing the strain rate. Therefore, it is possible to improve the SME by combining the strain rate sensitivity and shape memory training process. However, the improvement of SME caused by the training process under impact condition is still unclear. For the training process under impact condition, it is difficult to interrupt the test at the desired strain level due to many reflections of stress waves, which reload the specimen from the free ends. In this paper, to obtain reliable experimental results of SME after the training process under impact condition, the stress waves after first loading are eliminated by the double momentum-trap structure introduced into the impact tensile testing apparatus based on the split Hopkinson pressure bar method. In order to achieve an optimum design of the structure used in experiments, the finite element simulation of the structure is performed. Then, tensile tests in the training process of Fe-28Mn-6Si-5Cr alloy at different strain rates including the impact level are conducted and temperature change of the specimen is measured during training and heating process. 20Differences Between the Concentrations in Rabbit Body Fluid of Berberine Hydrochloride, Chlorogenic Acid, Baicalin, and Their Minimal Inhibitory Concentrations显示文摘To explore the relationship between the heat-clearing and detoxicating functions and the bacteriostatic actions of berberine hydrochloride (Ber. H), chlorogenic acid (Chlo. A), and baicalin (Bai), their concentrations in rabbit body fluid were compared with their minimal inhibitory concentrations (MICs). Their concentrations in rabbit blood and tissue fluid were determined by reversed-phase high performance liquid chromatography, and their MICs to Escherichia coli were determined by tube dilution method. The results showed that the peak concentrations of Ber. H, Chlo. A, and Bai in rabbit blood were 3.2, 5.03, and 7.63 μg mL-1, and in rabbit tissue fluid were 0.12, 0.11, and 0.12 μg mL-1, respectively. Their MICs to E. coli were, respectively, 1.0 × 103, 3.75 × 103, and 6.75 × 103 μg mL-1, which were far higher than the concentrations in rabbit body fluids. This study indicates that Ber. H, Chlo.
