| 1 | Closed-loop drip irrigation control using a hybrid wireless sensor and actuator network显示文摘In this research, a closed-loop drip irrigation control hybrid wireless sensor and actuator network (HWSAN) prototype were developed and deployed in a crop field for soil property precise measurement and precision irrigation in accordance with the measured soil property. The HWSAN was composed of a wireless sensor and actuator network (WSAN) used for in-field soil property monitoring and irrigation control and a laboratory supervising system. The WSAN included ten sensor nodes, five irrigation control nodes, a central node, a gateway and a cellular modem. The laboratory supervising system was formed by a web-server. The system could automatically sample soil properties including soil moisture, electrical conductivity, and nearsurface temperature at four different depths underground and transmit field data through cellular network to the web-server. Closed-loop control was achieved through the control nodes listening uploading packets from its paired sensor nodes to control drip irrigation. | 2 | Melatonin enhances radiofrequency-induced NK antitumor immunity,causing cancer metabolism reprogramming and inhibition of multiple pulmonary tumor development显示文摘Surgery is the comm on treatme nt for early lung cancer with multiple pulm onary no dules,but it is often accompanied by the problem of significant malignancy of other nodules in non-therapeutic areas.In this study,we found that a combined treatment of local rad iofreq ue ncy ablati on(RFA)and melatonin(MLT)greatly improved clinical outcomes for early lung cancer patie nts with multiple pulmonary nodules by minimizing lung function injury and reducing the probability of malignant transformation or enlargement of nodules in non-ablated areas.Mechanically,as demonstrated in an associated mouse lung tumor model,RFA not only effectively remove treated tumors but also stimulate antitumor immunity,which could inhibit tumor growth in non-ablated areas.MLT enhanced RFA-stimulated NK activity and exerted synergistic antitumor effects with RFA.Transcriptomics and proteomics analyses of residual tumor tissues revealed enhanced oxidative phosphorylation and reduced acidification as well as hypoxia in the tumor microenvironment,which suggests reprogrammed tumor metabolism after combined treatment with RFA and MLT.Analysis of residual tumor further revealed the depressed activity of MAPK,NF-kappa B,Wnt,and Hedgehog pathways and upregulated P53 pathway in tumors,which was in line with the inhibited tumor growth.Combined RFA and MLT treatment also reversed the Warburg effect and decreased tumor malignancy.These findings thus demonstrated that combined treatment of RFA and MLT effectively inhibited the malignancy of non-ablated nodules and provided an innovative non-invasive strategy for treating early lung tumors with multiple pulmonary nodules.Trial registration:www.chictr.org.cn,identifier ChiCTR2100042695,http://gffzz62a03ee25e6f4a77hbfpncxk66vn66kn9.ffgz.tsg.suse.edu.cn/showproj.aspx?proj=120931. | Ming Li Bingjie Hao Menghuan Zhang Russel J.Reiter Shumeng Lin Tiansheng Zheng Xiangyun Chen Yanbei Ren Liduo Yue Baigenzhin Abay Guojie Chen Xiao Xu Yufeng Shi Lihong Fan | 2021 | Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2021,6,10: | 6 |
| 3 | An expert consensus on the evaluation and treatment of acute thoracolumbar spine and spinal cord injury in China显示文摘This is an expert consensus on the evaluation and treatment of thoracolumbar spinal injury,established from February 2009 to July 2010.The expert consensus consists mainly of six parts with a total of 54 recommendations including the overview(one item);pre-hospital care(one item);evaluation and diagnosis(13 items);treatment(23 items);prevention and treatment of major complications(12 items);and rehabilitation(four items).This is the first time that Chinese experts have published a consensus on spine and spinal cord injury.The expert consensus was established based on Delphi methods,literature analysis,and clinical experiences.Each recommendation is supported by and was interpreted using multi-level evidences.The level of agreement with the recommendation among the panel members was assessed as either low,moderate,or strong.Each panel member was asked to indicate his or her level of agreement on a 5-point scale,with '1' corresponding to neutrality and '5' representing maximum agreement.Scores were aggregated across the panel members and an arithmetic mean was calculated.This mean score was then translated into low,moderate,or strong.After all of the votes were collected and calculated,the results showed no low-level recommendations,10 moderate-level recommendations,and 44 strong-level recommendations.An expert consensus was reached and was recognized by Chinese spine surgeons.Wide-scale adoption of these recommendations is urgent in the management of acute thoracolumbar spine and spinal cord injury in a broader attempt to create a standard evaluation and treatment strategy for acute thoracolumbar spine and spinal cord injury in China. | Zhicheng Zhang Fang Li Tiansheng Sun | 2013 | Neural Regeneration Research2013,8,33: | 6 |
| 4 | Effect of transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation at acupoints on patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus:a randomized controlled trial显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To examine whether transcutaneous electric nerve stimulation at acupoints(Acu-TENS)improved the biochemical and physical indices of patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM).METHODS:Ninety subjects with T2DM were divided randomly into a control group(n = 30),aerobic exercise group(n- 30),or Acu-TENS group(n = 30).In addition to conventional diabetes drug treatment,patients in the Acu-TENS group received acupoint stimulation,the aerobic exercise group engaged in walking exercises,and the control group was given sham electrical stimulation.All groups were treated for 30 min for each session and five times a week for 2 months.The indices of glycosylated hemoglobin,2 h postprandial glucose,fasting serum insulin,triglyceride,total cholesterol,and body mass index were assessed at pre-treatment,post-treatment,and follow-up,which was 2 months after treatment.RESULTS:The indices of the control group were not changed(P > 0.05) at the three time points.At the pre-treatment measurement,there were significant differences(P > 0.05) in indices among the three groups.At post-treatment,each index of the two groups was lower than that of the control group(P < 0.05),and improved in comparison with the pre-treatment measurement(P < 0.05).In follow-up,each index of the aerobic exercise group and Acu-TENS group increased,but was still decreased compared with the pre-treatment value(P < 0.05),excluding body mass index.CONCLUSION:Acu-TENS could improve the state of patients with T2 DM and be used as a therapy in clinical application. | Wu Zhiyuan Yang Ming Jia Jie Wu Yi Huang Tiansheng Li Mingfen He Zhijie Guo Zhenzhen Leung Mason Chin Pang | 2015 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2015,35,2: | 5 |

| 6 | Identification and Molecular Characterization of a Phytoplasma Associated with Pomegranate Fasciation Disease显示文摘To confirm phytoplasma infection,samples of pomegranate(Punica granatum L.)plants showing symptoms of fasciation were collected from an orchard located in Tai’an,Shandong Province,China.A fragment of approximately 1.2 kb was amplified with universal primers targeting the phytoplasma 16S r RNA gene from symptomatic pomegranate plants,while no fragment was obtained from healthy plants.The phytoplasma associated with the disease was designated as pomegranate fasciation(Po F).Two representative phytoplasma 16S r DNA gene sequences(Po F-Ch01 and Po F-Ch02)had 100%nucleotide sequence identity.The 16S r DNA sequence of Po F-Ch01 and Po F-Ch02 showed the highest similarity(99.6%)to that of‘P.granatum’phytoplasma isolate AY-PG,which belong to 16Sr I-B.Further phylogenetic analysis showed that Po F-Ch01 and Po F-Ch02 belonged to a cluster of 16Sr I subgroup members.In silico RFLP analysis indicated that Po F-Ch01 shared the highest similarity coefficient of 0.97 with reference strains of 16Sr I-B,M and N.Actual RFLP analysis of both enzymes Bst U I and Bfa I confirmed that of the virtual RFLP analysis.Combining these results,we concluded that Po F was a member of the‘Candidatus Phytoplasma asteris’group(16Sr I),and has very close relationship with 16Sr I-B subgroup. | GAOdb Rui WANG Jie ZHU Tiansheng JIA Xi LI Xiangdong | 2018 | Horticultural Plant Journal2018,4,1: | 3 |
| 7 | CPT1C-mediated fatty acid oxidation facilitates colorectal cancer cell proliferation and metastasis显示文摘Fatty acid oxidation(FAO)has been proven to be an accomplice in tumor progression.Carnitine palmitoyltransferase 1C(CPT1C),a rate-limiting enzyme in FAO,mainly functions to catalyze fatty acid carnitinylation and guarantee subsequent entry into the mitochondria for FAO in colorectal cancer(CRC).Gene expression data and clinical information extracted from The Cancer Genome Atlas(TCGA)database show significantly higher expression of CPT1C in patients with metastatic CRC(P=0.005).Moreover,overexpression of CPT1C is correlated with worse relapse-free survival in CRC(HR 2.1,P=0.0006),while no statistical significance is indicated for CPT1A and CPT1B.Further experiments demonstrate that downregulation of CPT1C expression leads to a decrease in the FAO rate,suppression of cell proliferation,cell cycle arrest and repression of cell migration in CRC,whereas opposite results are obtained when CPT1C is overexpressed.Furthermore,an FAO inhibitor almost completely reverses the enhanced cell proliferation and migration induced by CPT1C overexpression.In addition,analysis of TCGA data illustrates a positive association between CPT1C expression and HIF1αlevel,suggesting that CPT1C is a transcriptional target of HIF1α.In conclusion,CPT1C overexpression indicates poor relapse-free survival of patients with CRC,and CPT1C is transcriptionally activated by HIF1α,thereby promoting the proliferation and migration of CRC cells. | Jing Li Wanwei Zheng Jie Wu Jun Zhang Bin Lv Wenshuai Li Jie Liu Xin Zhang Tiansheng Huang Zhongguang Luo | 2023 | Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2023,55,8: | 1 |
| 8 | Regulating the nanoscale intimacy of metal and acidic sites in Ru/γ-Al_(2)O_(3)for the selective conversions of lignin-derived phenols to jet fuels显示文摘Catalytic hydrodeoxygenation(HDO)of biomass-derived oxy-compounds to advanced hydrocarbon fuels usually requires bifunctional catalysts containing metals and acidic sites.The appropriate tuning of metal and/or acidic active sites at interfaces of bifunctional catalysts can significantly improve catalyst activity and product selectivity.Here,4-trifuoromethyl salicylic acid(TFMSA),as a hydrothermal stable organic acid,was employed to tailor the bifunctional interface of Ru/γ-Al_(2)O_(3)to enhance the catalytic performance on converting lignin-derived phenols to jet fuel range cycloalkanes.More than 80%phenol was converted into cyclohexane at 230°C for 1 h over Ru/γ-Al_(2)O_(3)modified by TFMSA,which was about three times higher than that over unmodified Ru/γ-Al_(2)O_(3).X-ray diffraction(XRD),Transmission electron microscope(TEM),H2 chemisorption,and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy(EDS)elemental mapping results indicated that Ru nanoparticles and TFMSA were well distributed onγ-Al_(2)O_(3),and a nanoscale intimacy between Ru and TFMSA was reached.Meanwhile,Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy after pyridine adsorption(Py-FT-IR)analysis proved that Brønsted acidic sites on the catalytic interfaces of TFMSA modified Ru/γ-Al_(2)O_(3)had been improved.Moreover,the kinetic and density functional theory(DFT)results suggested that the synergistic effects of adjacent Ru nanoparticles and acidic sites were crutial for promoting the rate-limiting conversion step of phenol HDO to cyclohexane. | Shanshuai Chen Weichen Wang Xue Li Puxiang Yan Wanying Han Tian Sheng Tiansheng Deng Wanbin Zhu Hongliang Wang | 2022 | Journal of Energy Chemistry2022,31,3: | 1 |
