1Protective effects of Jiayan Kangtai granules on autoimmune thyroiditis in a rat model by modulating Th17/Treg cell balance显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To investigate the protective effects of Jiayan Kangtai(JYKT) granules, consisting of 9 Chinese herbs, in a rat model of autoimmune thyroiditis(AIT), and the possible underlying mechanism.METHODS: Female Lewis rats(6-8 weeks) were randomly apportioned to 5 groups of 10, including a normal control. AIT was induced in the untreated AIT-model group, and rats treated subsequently with daily low, medium, or high dose JYKT granules. After 12 weeks, plasma levels of thyroid autoantibodies and morphological changes in the thyroid were detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay and histological examination, respectively. The presence of interleukin(IL)-6,IL23 p19, and IL-2 in thyroid tissue was assessed by immunohistochemical staining. The percentages of T helper(Th)17 cells and regulatory T cells(Tregs) in the peripheral blood were analyzed by flow cytometry. Relevant levels of cytokines and proteins were examined via bead-based multiplex flow cytometry and ELISA, respectively. Expressions of genes and proteins regulated by Th17 cells and Tregs were shown by real-time PCR and Western blot.RESULTS: Compared to the control, AIT-model rats had higher plasma concentrations of thyroid autoantibodies. The high-dose JYKT rats showed significantly lower levels of thyroid autoantibodies compared with the AIT model group. Rats in the AIT-JYKT groups also had fewer thyroid lesions and less lymphocytic infiltration, a lower percentage of Th17 cells, and a higher percentage of Tregs, compared with the AIT-model. Rats given high-dose JYKT had a significantly lower Th17/Treg ratio compared with the AIT model. Differences in plasma cytokine concentrations and relevant gene and protein expressions in the spleens of JYKT-treated rats and the AIT group suggested an association between JYKT treatment and lower Th17 cell percentage and higher Treg activity.CONCLUSION: JYKT treatment appeared to be protective against AIT in rats, possibly via the regulation of the Th17 cell/Treg imbalance in AIT.Hou Yi Wang Tieshan Guo Xiangyu Sun Wen Guo Xuan Wu Lili Qin Lingling Zhang Chengfei Liu Tonghua 2018Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2018,38,3:9

3Slope safety control during mining below a landslide显示文摘The East Open Pits of Daye Iron Mine were closed in year 2000 and the ore beyond the pit limit was planned to be mined by underground ways. In order to facilitate the smooth transition to underground mining, hanging-wall ores in the old pits were scheduled to be mined. Xiangbishan pit is one of the four mining spots selected. In 1979 when the pit was mined to around 36 m a.s.l., a landside of around 70000 m3 occurred in its North Slope, leading to the closure of the pit. The pit was then backfilled to 60 m a.s.l. to maintain the slope stability. The hanging-wall ore to be mined is just located below the old slide, so whether the slide will be reactivated and how to control its deformation and stability are the key issues concerned. Based on geological investigation and numerical analysis, it was predicted that the slide would be reactivated and a control measure using the intact ore body as a retaining wall was thus suggested. During mining, displacements were monitored to assure safety. By July, 2003, 383000 tons of ore were successfully mined. Though the observed displacement reached 8795 mm, no major failure happened. 4Predictor-based neural dynamic surface control for distributed formation tracking of multiple marine surface vehicles with improved transient performance显示文摘In this paper, we investigate the distributed formation tracking problem of multiple marine surface vehicles with model uncertainty and time-varying ocean disturbances induced by wind, waves, and ocean currents. The objective is to achieve a collective tracking with a time-varying trajectory, which can only be accessed by a fraction of follower vehicles. A novel predictor-based neural dynamic surface control design approach is proposed to develop the distributed adaptive formation controllers. We use prediction errors, rather than tracking errors, to construct the neural adaptive laws, which enable the fast identification of the vehicle dynamics without incurring high-frequency oscillations in control signals. We establish the stability properties of the closed-loop network via Lyapunov analysis, and quantify the transient performance by deriving the truncated L2 norms of the derivatives of neural weights, which we demonstrate to be smaller than the classical neural dynamic surface control design approach. We also extend the above result to the distributed formation tracking using the relative position information of vehicles, and the advantage is that the velocity information of neighbors and leader are required. 6Suburbanization and Subcentering of Population in Beijing Metropolitan Area:A Nonparametric Analysis显示文摘This study focuses on the suburbanization and subcentering of population and examines the nature of spatial restructuring in terms of the population distribution in the Beijing metropolitan area.Instead of the classic density function approach,we employ the nonparametric analysis to characterize the spatial pattern of population densities in the Beijing metropolitan area and identify the suburban subcenters.Our findings suggest that the population has spread with rapid urban growth in the Beijing metropolitan area,and the compact urban form has been replaced by a more dispersed polycentric spatial distribution.However,compared with the decentralization of western cities,the spatial extent of the decentralization of population in the Beijing metropolitan area is quite limited.The rapid growth of population in the near suburbs has expedited the sprawl of the central city,with a larger central agglomeration of population dominating the metropolitan area.In this sense,the spatial pattern of the Beijing metropolitan area is still characterized by the continuous compactness.However,our findings do provide the evidence that the city has been turning to a polycentric structure.We find significant population subcenters have emerged in the suburbs of Beijing since the 1980s.But the polycentricity emerged in the Beijing metropolitan area is very different by nature from that observed in Western cities.The subcenters emerged are adherent to the development scheme planned for the city,so it can be referred to as the so called 'planned polycentricity'.SUN Tieshan HAN Zhenhai WANG Lanlan LI Guoping 2012Chinese Geographical Science2012,22,4:3
7Effects of Industrial Relocation on Chinese Regional Economic Growth Disparities: Based on System Dynamics Modeling显示文摘The economic growth of China has led to increasing growth disparities between regions. Such disparities are uncontrolled and are severely negative symptoms in the process of economic development. On the basis of system dynamics(SD) modeling and the relationship between industrial relocation and regional economic growth, we construct a model of the interrelationship between the two aforementioned phenomena. The model is an effective and creative exploration for examining effects of industrial relocation on Chinese regional economic growth disparities. The SD model is employed in this study to build an inter-regional labor migration SD model, an inter-regional capital migration SD model, an intra-industry SD model, an intra-regional population SD model, and an intra-regional SD model which are based on realities in labor and capital flow from the view of industrial relocation. VENSIM software is utilized to perform a system simulation based on the data of the eastern, middle, and western regions from 2000 to 2010. Results show that industrial relocation gradually narrows the relative disparity in GDP among the three regions. Moreover, the absolute one is enlarged continuously. 8Adaptive robust dissipative designs on straight path control for underactuated ships显示文摘An adaptive robust control algorithm for ship straight path control system in the presence of both modeling uncertainties and the bounded disturbances is proposed. Motivated by the backstepping approach, the algorithm is developed by using the dissipation theory, such that the resulting closed-loop system is both strictly dissipative and asymptotically adaptively stable for all admissible uncertainties. Also, it is able to steer an underactuated ship along a prescribed straight path with ultimate bounds under external disturbances induced by wave, wind and ocean current. When there are no disturbances, the straight path control can be implemented in a locally asymptotically stable manner. 15The new sideway of CNTF sig-nal transduction pathway显示文摘The action of ciliary neurotrophic factor (CNTF) on intercellular free Ca2+ concentrations [Ca2+]1 induced by glutamate (Glu) in primary cultured hippocampal neurons were detected with Fura2/AM, a Ca2+-sensitive fluorophore. and the morphological influence of G-protein on it was ob-jected. Glu could induce rapid increase of [Ca2+]1 in hippo-campal neurons. CNTF had no significant action on [Ca2+]1 in resting hippocampal neurons. However, after incubation of CNTF for 5 min, the increase of [Ca2+]1 in hippocampal neurons rapidly induced by Glu was inhibited. Pretussis toxin (PTX)-sensitive G protein could block the action. 19Adaptive median threshold algorithm used in FDIS of DSSS receivers显示文摘For direct sequence spread spectrum(DSSS) receivers, the capability of rejecting narrow-band interference can be significantly improved by a process of frequency-domain interference suppression(FDIS).The key issue of this process is how to determine a threshold to eliminate interference in the frequency domain,which has been extensively studied.However,these previous methods are tedious or very complex.A simple and efficient algorithm based on medians is proposed.The elimination threshold is only related to the median by a scale factor,which can be obtained by the numerical analysis.Simulation results show that the algorithm provides excellent narrow-band interference suppression while only slightly degrading the signal-to-noise ratio(SNR).A one-pass algorithm using logarithmic segmentation is further derived to estimate medians with low computational complexity.
