| 2 | The chromosome-level quality genome provides insights into the evolution of the biosynthesis genes for aroma compounds of Osmanthus fragrans显示文摘Sweet osmanthus(Osmanthus fragrans)is a very popular ornamental tree species throughout Southeast Asia and USA particularly for its extremely fragrant aroma.We constructed a chromosome-level reference genome of O.fragrans to assist in studies of the evolution,genetic diversity,and molecular mechanism of aroma development.A total of over 118 Gb of polished reads was produced from HiSeq(45.1 Gb)and PacBio Sequel(73.35 Gb),giving 100×depth coverage for long reads.The combination of Illumina-short reads,PacBio-long reads,and Hi-C data produced the final chromosome quality genome of O.fragrans with a genome size of 727 Mb and a heterozygosity of 1.45%.The genome was annotated using de novo and homology comparison and further refined with transcriptome data.The genome of O.fragrans was predicted to have 45,542 genes,of which 95.68%were functionally annotated.Genome annotation found 49.35%as the repetitive sequences,with long terminal repeats(LTR)being the richest(28.94%).Genome evolution analysis indicated the evidence of whole-genome duplication 15 million years ago,which contributed to the current content of 45,242 genes.Metabolic analysis revealed that linalool,a monoterpene is the main aroma compound.Based on the genome and transcriptome,we further demonstrated the direct connection between terpene synthases(TPSs)and the rich aromatic molecules in O.fragrans.We identified three new flower-specific TPS genes,of which the expression coincided with the production of linalool.Our results suggest that the high number of TPS genes and the flower tissue-and stage-specific TPS genes expressions might drive the strong unique aroma production of O.fragrans. | Xiulian Yang Yuanzheng Yue Haiyan Li Wenjie Ding Gongwei Chen Tingting Shi Junhao Chen Min S.Park Fei Chen Lianggui Wang | 2018 | Horticulture Research2018,5,1: | 16 |

To provide an efficient and easy-to-use platform for managing huge sequence data, here we present Genome Sequence Archive(GSA; http://gffzzdbc7b6aaae734bddh9kck5x9fn0oq69vn.ffgz.tsg.suse.edu.cn/gsa or http://gffzz4eaf941a184140e3h9kck5x9fn0oq69vn.ffgz.tsg.suse.edu.cn), a data repository for archiving raw sequence data. In compliance with data standards and structures of the International Nucleotide Sequence Database Collaboration(INSDC), GSA adopts four data objects(Bio Project, Bio Sample,Experiment, and Run) for data organization, accepts raw sequence reads produced by a variety of sequencing platforms, stores both sequence reads and metadata submitted from all over the world,and makes all these data publicly available to worldwide scientific communities. | 7 | Opposite effects of nitrogen fertilization and plastic film mulching on crop N and P stoichiometry in a temperate agroecosystem显示文摘Aims Crop nitrogen(N)and phosphorus(P)stoichiometry can influence food nutritive quality and many ecosystem processes.However,how and why N and P stoichiometry respond to long-term agricul-tural management practices(e.g.N fertilization and film mulching)are not clearly understood.Methods We collected maize tissues(leaf,stem,root and seed)and soil sam-ples from a temperate cropland under 30-year continuous N fer-tilization and plastic film mulching treatments,measured their C,N and P concentrations(the proportion(%)relative to the sample mass),and used structural equation models to uncover the re-sponding mechanisms for crop N and P contents(the total amount(g/m2)in crop biomass).Important Findings Long-term N fertilization increased N concentrations in all crop tissues but sharply decreased P concentrations in vegetative tis-sues(leaf,stem and root),thereby reducing their C/N ratio and increasing C/P and N/P ratios.The drop in P concentration in vegetative tissues was due to the dilution effect by biomass in-crement and the priority of P supply for seed production.In con-trast,film mulching decreased N concentration but increased P concentrations in most crop tissues,thereby increasing C/N ratio and reducing C/P and N/P ratios.Film mulching increased crop P content by increasing soil temperature and moisture;whereas,mulching showed little effect on crop N content,because a posi-tive effects of soil temperature may have canceled out a negative effect by soil moisture.This indicated a decoupling of P and N uptake by crops under film mulching.In conclusion,N fertiliza-tion and plastic film mulching showed opposite effects of on crop N and P stoichiometry. | Fan Ding Shuangyi Li Xiao-Tao Lü Feike A.Dijkstra Sean Schaeffer Tingting An Jiubo Pei Liangjie Sun Jingkuan Wang | 2019 | Journal of Plant Ecology2019,12,4: | 8 |
| 8 | Model tests on XCC-piled embankment under dynamic train load of high-speed railways显示文摘Piled embankments,which offer many advantages,are increasingly popular in construction of high-speed railways in China.Although the performance of piled embankment under static loading is well-known,the behavior under the dynamic train load of a high-speed railway is not yet understood.In light of this,a heavily instrumented piled embankment model was set up,and a model test was carried out,in which a servo-hydraulic actuator outputting M-shaped waves was adopted to simulate the process of a running train.Earth pressure,settlement,strain in the geogrid and pile and excess pore water pressure were measured.The results show that the soil arching height under the dynamic train load of a high-speed railway is shorter than under static loading.The growth trend for accumulated settlement slowed down after long-term vibration although there was still a tendency for it to increase.Accumulated geogrid strain has an increasing tendency after long-term vibration.The closer the embankment edge,the greater the geogrid strain over the subsoil.Strains in the pile were smaller under dynamic train loads,and their distribution was different from that under static loading.At the same elevation,excess pore water pressure under the track slab was greater than that under the embankment shoulder. | Niu Tingting Liu Hanlong Ding Xuanming Zheng Changjie | 2018 | Earthquake Engineering and Engineering Vibration2018,17,3: | 6 |

| 11 | ZBP1 mediates interferon-induced necroptosis显示文摘Interferons(IFNs)play an important role in immunomodulatory and antiviral functions.IFN-induced necroptosis has been reported in cells deficient in receptor-interacting protein kinase 1(RIPK1),Fas-associated protein with death domain(FADD),or caspase-8,but the mechanism is largely unknown.Here,we report that the DNA-dependent activator of IFN regulatory factors(ZBP1,also known as DAI)is required for both type Ⅰ(β)and type Ⅱ(γ)IFN-induced necroptosis.We show that L929 fibroblast cells became susceptible to IFN-induced necroptosis when RIPK1,FADD,or Caspase-8 was genetically deleted,confirming the antinecroptotic role of these proteins in IFN signaling.We found that the pronecroptotic signal from IFN stimulation depends on new protein synthesis and identified ZBP1,an IFN-stimulated gene(ISG)product,as the de novo synthesized protein that triggers necroptosis in IFN-stimulated cells.The N-terminal domain(ND)of ZBP1 is important for ZBP1–ZBP1 homointeraction,and its RHIM domain in the C-terminal region interacts with RIPK3 to initiate RIPK3-dependent necroptosis.The antinecroptotic function of RIPK1,FADD,and caspase-8 in IFN-treated cells is most likely executed by caspase-8-mediated cleavage of RIPK3,since the inhibitory effect on necroptosis was eliminated when the caspase-8 cleavage site in RIPK3 was mutated.ZBP1-mediated necroptosis in IFN-treated cells is likely physiologically relevant,as ZBP1 KO mice were significantly protected against acute systemic inflammatory response syndrome(SIRS)induced by TNF+IFN-γ. | Daowei Yang Yaoji Liang Shubo Zhao Yan Ding Qiuyu Zhuang Qilin Shi Tingting Ai Su-Qin Wu Jiahuai Han | 2020 | Cellular & Molecular Immunology2020,17,4: | 5 |

| 14 | NDUFAB1 confers cardio-protection by enhancing mitochondrial bioenergetics through coordination of respiratory complex and supercomplex assembly显示文摘The impairment of mitochondrial bioenergetics,often coupled with exaggerated reactive oxygen species (ROS) production, is a fundamental disease mechanism in organs with a high demand for energy, including the heart. Building a more robust and safer cellular powerhouse holds the promise for protecting these organs in stressful conditions. Here, we demonstrate that NADH:ubiquinone oxidoreductase subunit AB1 (NDUFAB1), also known as mitochondrial acyl carrier protein, acts as a powerful cardio-protector by conferring greater capacity and efficiency of mitochondrial energy metabolism. In particular, NDUFAB1 not only serves as a complex I subunit, but also coordinates the assembly of respiratory complexes I, II, and III, and supercomplexes, through regulating iron-sulfur biosynthesis and complex I subunit stability. Cardiac-specific deletion of Ndufab1 in mice caused defective bioenergetics and elevated ROS levels, leading to progressive dilated cardiomyopathy and eventual heart failure and sudden death. Overexpression of Ndufab1 effectively enhanced mitochondrial bioenergetics while limiting ROS production and protected the heart against ischemia-reperfusion injury. | 15 | The role of China's terrestrial carbon sequestration 2010-2060 in offsetting energy-related CO_(2) emissions显示文摘Energy consumption dominates annual CO_(2) emissions in China.It is essential to significantly reduce CO_(2) emissions from energy consumption to reach national carbon neutrality by 2060,while the role of terrestrial carbon sequestration in offsetting energy-related CO_(2) emissions cannot be underestimated.Natural climate solutions(NCS),including improvements in terrestrial carbon sequestration,represent readily deployable options to offset anthropogenic greenhouse gas emissions.However,the extent to which China’s terrestrial carbon sequestration in the future,especially when target-oriented managements(TOMs)are implemented,can help to mitigate energy-related CO_(2) emissions is far from certain.By synthesizing available findings and using several parameter-sparse empirical models that have been calibrated and/or fitted against contemporary measurements,we assessed China’s terrestrial carbon sequestration over 2010-2060 and its contribution to offsetting national energy-related CO_(2) emissions.We show that terrestrial C sequestration in China will increase from 0.375±0.056(mean±standard deviation)Pg C yr^(-1) in the 2010s to 0.458±0.100 Pg C yr^(-1)under RCP2.6 and 0.493±0.108 Pg C yr^(-1) under the RCP4.5 scenario in the 2050s,when TOMs are implemented.The majority of carbon sequestration comes from forest,accounting for 67.8-71.4%of the total amount.China’s terrestrial ecosystems can offset 12.2-15.0%and 13.4-17.8%of energy-related peak CO_(2) emissions in 2030 and 2060,respectively.The implementation of TOMs contributes 11.9%of the overall terrestrial carbon sequestration in the 2020s and 23.7%in the 2050s.The most likely strategy to maximize future NCS effectiveness is a full implementation of all applicable cost-effective NCS pathways in China.Our findings highlight the role of terrestrial carbon sequestration in offsetting energy-related CO_(2) emissions and put forward future needs in the context of carbon neutrality. | Yao Huang Wenjuan Sun Zhangcai Qin Wen Zhang Yongqiang Yu Tingting Li Qing Zhang Guocheng Wang Lingfei Yu Yijie Wang Fan Ding Ping Zhang | 2022 | National Science Review2022,9,8: | 4 |

| 18 | Hot compressive deformation behaviors of Mg–10Gd–3Y–0.5Zr alloy显示文摘In this paper, the hot compressive deformation characteristics of a Mg–10Gd–3Y–0.5Zr(GW103K) alloy have been investigated by isothermal compression test at the temperature range of 350–450°C and strain rate range of 0.0001–0.1s^(-1). True stress–strain relationships at various strain rates showed the typical strain hardening and softening stage which is indicative of dynamic recrystallization during deformation. The results showed that the peak stress was obviously dependent on temperature and strain rate. A constitutive equation to describe the deformation process was established based on the hyperbolic sine function. The stress exponent n and apparent activation energy Q were determined to be 3.018 and 203.947 k J/mol, respectively. Microstructure investigation showed that dislocation slipping was the dominant deformation mechanism during the hot deformation at all conditions. However, at the temperatures lower than 400 °C and strain rates higher than 0.01 s^(-1), twinning was observed to be activated, which indicated another deformation mechanism.
