Generation of 33 fs pulses directly from a Kerr-lens mode-locked Yb:CaYAlO4 laser显示文摘We experimentally demonstrated a diode-pumped Kerr-lens mode-locked femtosecond laser with a Yb:CaYAlO4 crystal as the gain medium. Pulse duration as short as 33 fs was obtained directly from the oscillator at a repetition rate of 115 MHz. The central wavelength was at 1059 nm with a spectral bandwidth of 49 nm. These are, to the bestof our knowledge, the shortest pulses generated from a Yb:CaYAlO4 oscillator. | Ziye Gao Jiangfeng Zhu Junli Wang Zhiyi Wei Xiaodong Xu Lihe Zheng Liangbi Su Jun Xu | 2015 | Photonics Research2015,3,6: | 8
Preparation process of bio-oil and bio-asphalt,their performance, and the application of bio-asphalt:A comprehensive review显示文摘The objective of this paper is to establish the state of knowledge on fast pyrolysis of bio-oil and bio-asphalt binder and to facilitate efforts in improving the overall perform ance of bioasphalt and maximizing its road application. On the basis of reviewing the relevant literature recently, the fast pyrolysis(FasP) preparation process of bio-oil and its main properties, the preparation process of bio-asphalt and its performance and the application of bio-asphalt have been summarized.Due to the variations in raw materials, the adopted methods of FasP to prepare bio-oil could be different, and the properties of bio-oil from different sources are also different. At present, the plant-based bio-oil(mainly derived from wood waste and sawdust) has been widely used to prepare the bio-asphalt.Research on the low-temperature flexibility,high-temperature rheology, workability and other performance of biological asphalt showed that the workability and high-temperature performance of most asphalt are improved after adding bio-oil.However,the low-temperature performance is found to relatively reduce. Also, with regards to its application as a rejuvenator,bio-oil can considerably rejuvenate the aged asphalt’s mixture performance.By far, most of research on bio-asphalt is still focused on the performance of bio-asphalt binder in the laboratory;its application in practical road engineering is still to be examined. This review also provides an outlook for the future, for example, establishing an integrated preparation process from bio-oil to bio-asphalt,and evaluating the properties of bioasphalt by new standards. | Hainian Wang Ziye Ma Xi Chen Mohd Rosli Mohd Hasan | 2020 | Journal of Traffic and Transportation Engineering(English Edition)2020,7,2: | 5
The role of bone marrow-derived cells in the origin of liver cancer revealed by single-cell sequencing显示文摘Objective:Epithelial cancers often originate from progenitor cells, while the origin of hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)is still controversial.HCC,one of the deadliest cancers,is closely linked with liver injuries and chronic inflammation, which trigger massive infiltration of bone marrow-derived cells(BMDCs)during liver repair. Methods:To address the possible roles of BMDCs in HCC origination,we established a diethylnitrosamine(DEN)-induced HCC model in bone marrow transplanted mice.Immunohistochemistry and frozen tissue immunofluorescence were used to verify DENinduced HCC in the pathology of the disease. The cellular origin of DEN-induced HCC was further studied by single cell sequencing,single-cell nested PCR,and immunofluorescence-fluorescence in situ hybridization. Results:Studies by using single cell sequencing and biochemical analysis revealed that HCC cells in these mice were coming from donor mice BMDCs,and not from recipient mice.Furthermore, the copy numbers of mouse orthologs of several HCC-related genes previously reported in human HCC were also altered in our mouse model.DEN-induced HCCs exhibited a similar histological phenotype and genomic profile as human HCCs.Conclusions:These results suggested that BMDCs are an important origin of HCC,which provide important clues to HCC prevention, detection, and treatments. | Lu Chen Xianfu Yi Piao Guo Hua Guo Ziye Chen Chunyu Hou Lisha Qi Yongrong Wang Chengwen Li Peng Liu Yucun Liu Yuanfu Xu Ning Zhang | 2020 | Cancer Biology & Medicine2020,17,1: | 4
Necessary and sufficient conditions for normalization and sliding mode control of singular fractional-order systems with uncertainties显示文摘The sliding mode control(SMC) problem for a normalized singular fractional-order system(SFOS) with matched uncertainties was investigated. Firstly, SFOS was normalized under constrained conditions. Then, the linear sliding mode(SM) function was designed using a fractional-order(FO) positive definite matrix and a linear matrix inequality(LMI). The SM controller was subsequently constructed based on switching laws. Finally, the feasibility of the method was evaluated using a numerical example. | Bo MENG Xinhe WANG Ziye ZHANG Zhen WANG | 2020 | Science China(Information Sciences)2020,63,5: | 4
Numerical study on aero-optical imaging deviations of vehicles at different altitudes显示文摘When the vehicle is flying in the atmosphere at high speed, the optical head and the atmosphere will have severe friction, thus forming a complex flow field, which makes the target image shift in the optical imaging system. The influence of altitude on aero-optical imaging deviation is studied in this paper. The geometric modeling and mesh generation of a typical blunt nosed high-speed vehicle were carried out, and the three-dimensional(3 D) flow field density was obtained by a large amount of computational fluid dynamic calculation. In order to complete the optical calculation, the backward ray tracing method and the backward ray tracing stop criterion were used. The results show that as the height increases, the imaging deviation decreases gradually, and the imaging deviation slope increases and tends to be flat and close to zero. | XU Liang ZHANG Ziye WANG Tao WU Jianhui CHEN Xi | 2022 | Optoelectronics Letters2022,18,2: | 4
A Monte Carlo-based framework for risk-return analysis in mineral prospectivity mapping显示文摘Quantification of a mineral prospectivity mapping(MPM)heavily relies on geological, geophysical and geochemical analysis, which combines various evidence layers into a single map. However,MPM is subject to considerable uncertainty due to lack of understanding of the metallogenesis and limited spatial data samples. In this paper,we provide a framework that addresses how uncertainty in the evidence layers can be quantified and how such uncertainty is propagated to the prediction of mineral potential.More specifically,we use Monte Carlo simulation to jointly quantify uncertainties on all uncertain evidence variables, categorized into geological, geochemical and geophysical. On stochastically simulated sets of the multiple input layers, logistic regression is employed to produce different quantifications of the mineral potential in terms of probability.Uncertainties we address lie in the downscaling of magnetic data to a scale that makes such data comparable with known mineral deposits.Additionally,we deal with the limited spatial sampling of geochemistry that leads to spatial uncertainty.Next,we deal with the conceptual geological uncertainty related to how the spatial extent of the influence of evidential geological features such as faults, granite intrusions and sedimentary formations. Finally,we provide a novel way to interpret the established uncertainty in a risk-return analysis to decide areas with high potential but at the same time low uncertainty on that potential. Our methods are illustrated and compared with traditional deterministic MPM on a real case study of prospecting skarn Fe deposition in southwestern Fujian,China. | Ziye Wang Zhen Yin Jef Caers Renguang Zuo | 2020 | Geoscience Frontiers2020,11,6: | 3
Spatial Analysis of Fe Deposits in Fujian Province, China: Implications for Mineral Exploration显示文摘Spatial point pattern statistics, fractal analysis and Fry analysis in support of GIS were applied to explore the spatial distribution characteristics of mineral deposits and the spatial relationships between mineralization and geological features in Fujian Province(China). The results of Ripley's K(r) revealed a clustered distribution of Fe deposits in space with a fractal dimension of 1.38. Fry analysis showed that Fe deposits distributed mainly along a NNE-NE trend. Buffer analysis showed that most of the known Fe deposits developed within 4 km buffer zones of the NNE-NE-trending faults, Yanshanian intrusions, and Late Paleozoic marine sedimentary rocks and the carbonate formations(C–P Formation), indicating that they possibly control the spatial distribution of Fe mineralization. This is possibly because the NNE-NE-trending faults, Yanshanian intrusions, and C–P Formation provided pathways of fluids, energy and a part of metal, and zones of deposition for the Fe mineralization, respectively. The fractal relation of the number of Fe deposits occurring within the buffer zones of geological features was observed. The fractal dimension suggested that the significance of Yanshanian intrusions and C–P Formation are greater than that of NNE-NE-trending faults in controlling the formation of Fe mineralization. These findings are useful for better understanding the formation of the mineralization and provide significant information for further mineral exploration. | Ziye Wang Renguang Zuo Zhenjie Zhang | 2015 | Journal of Earth Science2015,26,6: | 2

The high-resolution community velocity model V2.0 of southwest China, constructed by joint body and surface wave tomography of data recorded at temporary dense arrays显示文摘The Sichuan-Yunnan area is located at the southeastern margin of the Tibetan Plateau, where tectonic movement is strong with deep and large faults distributed in a staggered manner, which results in strong seismic activities and severe earthquake hazards.Since the 21st century, several earthquakes of magnitude 7.0 or above occurred in this region, which have caused huge casualties and economic losses, especially the 2008 M_(s)8.0 Wenchuan earthquake. At present, earthquake monitoring and source parameter inversion, strong earthquake hazard analysis and disaster assessment are still the focus of seismological researches in the Sichuan-Yunnan region.Regional high-precision 3D community velocity models are fundamental for these studies. In this paper,by assembling seismic observations at permanent seismic stations and several temporary dense seismic arrays in this region,we obtained about 7.06 million body wave travel time data(including absolute and differential travel times)using a newly developed artificial intelligence body wave arrival time picking method and about 100,000 Rayleigh wave phase velocity dispersion data in the period range of 5-50 s from ambient noise cross-correlation technique.Based on this abundant dataset,we obtained the three-dimensional high resolution V_p and V_(s)model in the crust and uppermost mantle of southwest(SW)China by adopting the joint body and surface wave travel time tomography method considering the topography effect starting from the first version of community velocity model in SW China(SWChina CVM-1.0).Compared to SWChina CVM-1.0,this newly determined velocity model has higher resolution and better data fitness. It is accepted by the China Seismic Experimental Site as the second version of the community velocity model in SW China(SWChina CVM-2.0).The new model shows strong lateral heterogeneities in the shallow crust. Two disconnected low velocity zones are observed in the middle to lower crust, which is located in the Songpan-Ganzi block and the northern Chuandian block to the west of the Longmenshan-Lijiang-Xiaojinhe fault, and beneath the Xiaojiang fault zone, respectively. The inner zone of the Emeishan large igneous province(ELIP)exhibits a high velocity anomaly, which separates the two aforementioned low velocity anomalies.Low velocity anomaly is also shown beneath the Tengchong volcano. The velocity structures in the vicinity of the 2008 M_(s)8.0 Wenchuan earthquake, the 2013 M_(s)7.0Lushan earthquake and the 2017 M_(s)7.0 Jiuzhaigou earthquake mainly show high V_(p)and V_(s)anomalies and the mainshocks are basically located at the transition zone between the high and low velocity anomalies.Along with the segmentation characteristics of seismic activity,we suggest that areas with significant changes in velocity structures, especially in active fault zones, might have a greater potential to generate moderate to strong earthquakes. | Ying LIU Ziye YU Zhiqi ZHANG Huajian YAO Weitao WANG Haijiang ZHANG Hongjian FANG Lihua FANG | 2023 | Science China Earth Sciences2023,66,10: | 2
Purification and Photodynamic Bioactivity of Phycoerythrin and Phycocyanin from Porphyra yezoensis Ueda显示文摘Phycoerythrin and phycocyanin were purified from Porphyra yezoensis Ueda with their bioactivity determined in this study. Continuous precipitation with ammonium sulfate at different concentrations(10%, 20%, 40% and 50%) increased the purity(A564:A280) of phycoerythrin to 1.49, 3.92 fold of the raw extract(0.38) and the purity(A615:A280) of phycocyanin to 0.70, 3.33 fold of the raw extract(0.21). Two more times of chromatography with hydroxylapatites finally made the purity of phycoerythrin and phycocyanin reach 5.50, 14.47 fold of the raw extract, and 5.10, 24.29 fold of the raw extract, respectviely. The yield of high purity phycoerythrin and phycocyanin were 0.21% and 0.09% of dried P. yezoensis blade, respectively. The photodynamic cytotoxic experiment showed that both phycoerythrin and phycocyanin inhibited the growth of liver tumor cells significantly. It was found that 250 mg L-1 purified phycoerythrin and phycocyanin inhibited the growth of hepatocellular carcinoma cells 24 h after laser-irradiation by 80% and 59%, respectively, and 100 mg L-1 purified phycoerythrin and phycocyanin induced the apoptosis of 31.54% and 32.54% of the cells, respectively, 8 h after photodynamic therapy. | 11 | Benchmark on the accuracy and efficiency of several neural network based phase pickers using datasets from China Seismic Network显示文摘Seismic phase pickers based on deep neural networks have been extensively used recently, demonstrating their advantages on both performance and efficiency. However, these pickers are trained with and applied to different data.A comprehensive benchmark based on a single dataset is therefore lacking. Here, using the recently released DiTing dataset,we analyzed performances of seven phase pickers with different network structures, the efficiencies are also evaluated using both CPU and GPU devices.Evaluations based on F1-scores reveal that the recurrent neural network(RNN)and EQTransformer exhibit the best performance, likely owing to their large receptive fields.Similar performances are observed among PhaseNet(UNet),UNet++,and the lightweight phase picking network(LPPN).However, the LPPN models are the most efficient. The RNN and EQTransformer have similar speeds, which are slower than those of the LPPN and PhaseNet.UNet++requires the most computational effort among the pickers. As all of the pickers perform well after being trained with a large-scale dataset, users may choose the one suitable for their applications. For beginners,we provide a tutorial on training and validating the pickers using the DiTing dataset. We also provide two sets of models trained using datasets with both 50 Hz and 100 Hz sampling rates for direct application by end-users.All of our models are open-source and publicly accessible. | Ziye Yu Weitao Wang Yini Chen | 2023 | Earthquake Science2023,36,2: | 1
Insulin peptides and their receptors regulate ovarian development and oviposition behavior in Diaphorina citri显示文摘Diaphorina citri is an important vector of Citrus Huanglongbing(HLB)disease. After feeding on young host plant shoots, the population of D.citri can increase significantly.Females also only lay eggs on young shoots. However, there are few studies on the mechanism of this phenomenon.Exogenous nutrient signals can affect the insulin signaling system of D.citri after feeding on young shoots. In this study, the expression of upstreamfactors DclLPl,DclLP2,and DclR in the insulin signaling system of D.citri was upregulated after feeding on young shoots. After being silenced by RNA interference technology, the results showed that the number of oviposited eggs of D.citri was significantly decreased and the ovarian development was inhibited with severe vacuolation. In addition, detection using quantitative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction showed that the upstream regulatory gene DcRheb of the target of rapamycin(TOR)pathway and the downstream reproduction-related DcVg gene were also significantly downregulated. These results suggest that feeding upon young shoots may upregulate the expression levels of upstream factors DclLPl,DclLP2,and DclR in the insulin signaling system. The signal will be through upregulating the expression of DcRheb,an upstream gene of the TOR signaling pathway. This in turn influences yolk metabolism, which eventually causes the ovaries of female D.citri to mature and therefore initiate oviposition behavior. | Ziye Wang Delong Tan Feifeng Wana Shuhao Guo Jinhua Liu Andrew G.S.Cuthbertson Baoli Qiu Wen Sang | 2023 | Insect Science2023,30,1: | 1
Distribution characteristics of lipids from salt sediments in Qaidam Basin and their astrobiological significance显示文摘On Earth, salt environments are the most relevant analogues to Martian salt deposits with regard to the search for preserved biomolecules. In this study,we analyzed the distribution of lipids in salt samples from Dalangtan and Qarhan in the Qaidam Basin, which is the most important area to carry out analog research of Mars in China.Furthermore,we compared the lipids distribution results with that from other typical Martian analog sites such as the Atacama Desert.Salt samples in the Qaidam Basin are enriched with fatty acid compounds, including normal fatty acids, unsaturated fatty acids, branched fatty acids, and acyclic isoprene acids. In addtion, glycerol dialkyl glycerol tetraethers(GDGTs)and archaeol compounds were also detected in these salt samples.Compared with the hypersaline samples, the clay samples not only have higher abuandance of fatty acids,GDGTs and archaeol compounds, but also a more diversed lipids composition.Only a few lipids were detected in the pure-saline samples, such as archaeol compounds. These clues suggest that content of salt minerals is the major factor affecting the distribution of lipids. This study provides an analogy for detecting and evaluating the traces of life that may exist on Mars. | Ziye CHENG Long XIAO Hongmei WANG Ting HUANG | 2022 | Science China Earth Sciences2022,65,1: | 1

Virtual strain loading method for low temperature cohesive failure of asphalt binder显示文摘Cohesive failure is one of the primary reasons for low-temperature cracking in asphalt pavements.Understanding the micro-level mechanism is crucial for comprehending cohesive failure behavior. However, previous literature has not fully reported on this aspect. Moreover, there has been insufficient attention given to the correlation between macroscopic and microscopic failures. To address these issues, this study employed molecular dynamics simulation to investigate the low-temperature tensile behavior of asphalt binder.By applying virtual strain, the separation work during asphalt binder tensile failure was calculated.Additionally,a correlation between macroscopic and microscopic tensile behaviors was established.Specifically,a quadrilateral asphalt binder model was generated based on SARA fractions.By applying various combinations of virtual strain loading, the separation work at tensile failure was determined.Furthermore, the impact of strain loading combinations on separation work was analyzed.Normalization was employed to establish the correlation between macroscopic and microscopic tensile behaviors. The results indicated that thermodynamic and classical mechanical indicators validated the reliability of the tetragonal asphalt binder model. The strain loading combination consists of strain rate and loading number. All strain loading combinations exhibited the similar tensile failure characteristic. The critical separation strain was hardly influenced by strain loading combination. However, increasing strain rate significantly enhanced both the maximum traction stress and separation work of the asphalt binder. An increment in the loading number led to a decrease in separation work. The virtual strain combination of 0.5%-80 provided a more accurate representation of the actual asphalt's tensile behavior trend. | Heyang Ding Hainian Wang Ziye Ma Zhen Leng Ponan Feng Tangjie Wang Xin Qu | 2023 | Journal of Road Engineering2023,3,3: | 0
Artificial intelligence application in a renewable energy-driven desalination system: A critical review显示文摘Artificial intelligence,an emerging technology, widely exists in the field of engineering science and technology.Due to its high efficiency and precision, artificial intelligence is increasingly used in the optimal control of water treatment and seawater desalination.Generally, the design of a desalination system includes four processes:site selection, energy prediction, desalination technology selection and systematic parameter optimization. To a large extent, these choices depend on the experience and relevant criteria of researchers and experts. However, facing the scientific and technological progress and growing expectations,it is impossible to solve such complex nonlinear problems by simple experience and mathematical models, but artificial intelligence is good at this.In this paper,we synthetically analyzed and summarized the application of artificial intelligence in the field of seawater desalination with renewable energy.Artificial intelligence application in desalination is mainly divided into four aspects:expert decision-making,optimization,prediction and control by sequence. The features of artificial intelligence employed in the design of desalination systems not only realize the maximum of efficiency and minimum of cost, but release the human resources. After analyzing the four processes of desalination,it is found that artificial neural network and genetic algorithm are more widespread and mature than other algorithms in dealing with multi-objective nonlinear problems. This paper overviewed the application of artificial intelligence technologies in decision-making,optimization,prediction and control throughout the four processes of desalination designs. Finally, the application and future development prospect of artificial intelligence in the field of seawater desalination are summarized. | Qian He Hongfei Zheng Xinglong Ma Lu Wang Hui Kong Ziye Zhu | 2022 | Energy and AI2022,7,1: | 0
A Sharding Scheme Based on Graph Partitioning Algorithm for Public Blockchain显示文摘Blockchain technology, with its attributes of decentralization, immutability, and traceability, has emerged as a powerful catalyst for enhancing traditional industries in terms of optimizing business processes. However, transaction performance and scalability has become the main challenges hindering the widespread adoption of blockchain.Due to its inability to meet the demands of high-frequency trading, blockchain cannot be adopted in many scenarios. To improve the transaction capacity, researchers have proposed some on-chain scaling technologies, including lightning networks, directed acyclic graph technology, state channels, and shardingmechanisms, inwhich sharding emerges as a potential scaling technology.Nevertheless, excessive cross-shard transactions and uneven shard workloads prevent the sharding mechanism from achieving the expected aim. This paper proposes a graphbased sharding scheme for public blockchain to efficiently balance the transaction distribution.Bymitigating crossshard transactions and evening-out workloads among shards, the scheme reduces transaction confirmation latency and enhances the transaction capacity of the blockchain. Therefore, the scheme can achieve a high-frequency transaction as well as a better blockchain scalability.Experiments results show that the scheme effectively reduces the cross-shard transaction ratio to a range of 35%-56%and significantly decreases the transaction confirmation latency to 6 s in a blockchain with no more than 25 shards. | Shujiang Xu Ziye Wang Lianhai Wang Miodrag J.Mihaljevi′c Shuhui Zhang Wei Shao Qizheng Wang | 2024 | Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences2024,139,6: | 0
Types, characteristics and geological significance of event deposits of Chang 9 Member of Triassic Yanchang Formation in southwestern Ordos Basin,NW China显示文摘Through core observation, thin section identification, and logging and testing data analysis, the types and characteristics of event deposits in the ninth member of Yanchang Formation of Triassic(Chang 9 Member)in southwestern Ordos Basin,China, are examined. There are 4 types and 9 subtypes of event deposits,i.e.earthquake,gravity flow, volcanic and anoxic deposits,in the Chang 9 Member in the study area.Based on the analysis of the characteristics and distribution of such events deposits,it is proposed that the event deposits are generally symbiotic or associated, with intrinsic genetic relations and distribution laws.Five kinds of sedimentary microfacies with relatively developed event deposits are identified, and the genetic model of event deposits is discussed.Seismites are mainly developed in the lake transgression stage when the basin expands episodically, and commonly affected by liquefaction flow, gravity action and brittle shear deformation.Gravity flow, mainly distributed in the high water level period, sandwiched in the fine-grained sediments of prodelta or semi-deep lake,or creates banded or lobate slump turbidite fan.It is relatively developed above the seismites strata. The volcanic event deposits are only seen in the lower part of the Chang 9 Member, showing abrupt contact at the top and bottom, which reflects the volcanic activity at the same time.Anoxic deposits are mostly formed in the late stage of lake transgression to the highstand stage.Very thick organic-rich shales are developed in the highstand stage of Chang 9 Member, and the event deposits in the depositional period of these shales are conducive to potential reservoirs. | WANG Ziye MAO Zhiguo YUAN Xuanjun DENG Xiuqin HUI Xiao ZHANG Zhongyi CUI Jingweil | 2023 | Petroleum Exploration and Development2023,50,3: | 0
