| 1 | Effectiveness of Different Waist Circumference Cut-off Values in Predicting Metabolic Syndrome Prevalence and Risk Factors in Adults in China显示文摘Objective To study the effectiveness of waist circumference cut-off values in predicting the prevalence of metabolic syndrome(MetS) and risk factors in adults in China. Methods A cross-sectional survey was condcuted in 14 provinces(autonomous region, municipality) in China. A total of 47 325 adults aged ≥20 years were selected by multistage stratified sampling, and questionnaire survey and physical and clinical examination were conducted among them. MetS was defined according to the International Diabetes Federation(IDF) criteria and modified IDF criteria.Results The age-standardized prevalence of MetS was 24.2%(22.1% in men and 25.8% in women) and 19.5%(22.1% in men and 18.0% in women) according to the IDF criteria and modified IDF criteria respectively. The age-standardized prevalence of pre-MetS was 8.1%(8.6% in men and 7.8% in women) according to the modified IDF criteria. The prevalence of MetS was higher in urban residents than rural residents and in northern China residents than in southern China residents. The prevalence of central obesity was about 30% in both men and women according to the ethnicity-specific cut-off values of waist circumference for central obesity(90 cm for men and 85 cm for women). Multivariate regression analysis revealed no significant difference in risk factors between the two MetS definitions. | 3 | Effect of heparin on apoptosis in human nasopharyngeal carcinoma CNE2 cells显示文摘In order to study the mechanism of the effect of heparin on apoptosis in carcinoma cells, the nasopharyngeal carcinoma cell line CNE2 was used to identify the effect of heparin on apoptosis associated with the expression of c-myc, bax, bcl-2 proteins by use of Hoechst 33258 staining, terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase-mediated dUTP nick-end labeling (TUNEL), agarose gel electrophoresis, and flow cytometry, as well as Western blot analysis. The results showed that heparin induced apoptosis of CNE2 cells including the morphologic changes such as reduction in the volume, and the nuclear chromatin condensation, as well as the “ladder pattern” revealed by agarose gel electrophoresis of DNA in a concentration-dependent manner.The number of TUNEL-positive cells was dramatically increased to 33.6±1.2% from 2.8±0.3% by treat ment with heparin in different concentrations (10~40 kU/L). The apoptotic index was increased to 32.5% from 3.5% by detecting SubG1 peaks on flow cytometry. | 4 | Photo-promoted carbonylation of chloroalkanes with carbon monoxide by non-precious metal catalysts显示文摘The photo-promoted carbonylation of chloroalkanes with carbon monoxide was carried out under ambient conditions with copper and cadmium salts catalysts. The results indicated that the corresponding esters were produced with three salt catalysts, i.e. CuBr2, CuCl2 and CdI2. Among these catalysts, CdI2 was the most efficient in terms of ester yield and selectivity, particularly, 60% yield and 75% selectivity in the carbonylation of chlorocyclohexane were achieved. Furthermore, the yield and selectivity of the ester can be improved greatly by adding tri-n-butylamine in the CuBr2 and CuCl2 catalyst systems. On the other hand, the carbonylation did not proceed with single CdCl2, however, the catalytic activity of CdCl2 was increased greatly with NaIá2H2O as additive. | 5 | Determination of AF and AFG in Red Ginseng by High Performance Liquid Chromatography with Evaporative Light Scattering Detector (HPLC-ELSD)显示文摘[Objective]The paper was to establish a method for determining AF and AFG in red ginseng.[Method]A new simple,rapid and sensitive method for simultaneous determination of two amadori compounds,arginyl-fructose(AF)and arginyl-fructosyl-glucose(AFG),in extracts of three kinds of ginseng preparations was developed and validated using high performance liquid chromatography with evaporative light scattering detector(HPLC-ELSD).Two target analytes were efficiently separated by Prevail CTM18 column(4.6 mm×250 mm,5μm)at the flow rate of 0.8 mL/min within 15 min of single chromatographic run.[Result]Under optimized conditions,the detection limits were 0.015 and 0.02 mg/mL for AF and AFG,respectively.Calibration curves of peak area for two analytes were linear over three orders of magnitude with the correlation coefficients greater than 0.999.The average recoveries,precision,reproducibility and stability for two analytes(AF and AFG)were 99.5% and 100.9%,0.43% and 0.47%,0.46% and 0.43%,0.41% and 0.49%,respectively.[Conclusion]This method was successfully applied for quantifying AF and AFG in red ginseng and the method was efficient,sensitive and accurate. | Chen Wei He Da Shao Ying | 2019 | Animal Husbandry and Feed Science2019,11,5: | 2 |

| 8 | The Impact of Lipid-metabolizing Genetic Polymorphisms on Body Mass Index and Their Interactions with Soybean Food Intake: A Study in a Chinese Population显示文摘Objective To evaluate the association of known polymorphisms in the lipid metabolic pathway with body mass index(BMI), and estimate their interactions with soybean food intake. Methods A community-based cross-sectional survey was conducted in a Chinese Han population. BMI, soybean food intake, and single nucleotide polymorphisms of rs599839, rs3846662, rs3846663, rs12916, rs174547, rs174570, rs4938303, and rs1558861 were measured in 944 subjects. A multivariate logistic regression was used to analyze the association of the studied polymorphisms with BMIs. The expectation-maximization algorithm was employed to evaluate the extent of linkage disequilibrium between pairwise polymorphisms. The gene-environment interaction was assessed in the general multifactor dimensionality reduction model. Results The polymorphisms of rs3846662 and rs3846663 were associated with 10% highest BMIs when comparing to the 10% lowest values both in individuals and haplotype-based association tests. Although no statistically significant gene-environment interactions were found, people with the haplotype composed of C allele in rs3846662 and T allele in rs3846663 and low frequency of soybean intake had significantly higher risk to overweight and obesity as compared with those with the haplotype consisting of T allele in rs3846662 and C allele in rs3846663 and highly frequent soybean food intake, with an odds ratio of 1.64(95% confidence interval: 1.15-2.34, P<0.01) after adjusting for the common confounders. | 20 | Development and evaluation of a double-plane detector system for multi-radionuclide imaging显示文摘Purpose To develop a multi-radionuclide imaging system with a flexible and compact structure that has a potential for breast and other applications,and to evaluate its performances under both positron emission tomography and single photon emission imaging conditions.Methods The plane detector was composed of 5×6 blocks with an effective detection area of 168.6 mm×202.4 mm.Each block consisted of a 16×16 LYSO array.The pixel size is 1.9 mm×1.9 mm×15 mm.An 8×8 silicon photomultiplier(SiPM)array with SensL’s C-30035 sensors was coupled to the LYSO array,separated by a 1.5-mm-thick glass.To minimize the influence of temperature on the detector,the active part of the front-end electronics was kept away from SiPMs.Self-designed data acquisition system and reconstruction software were utilized to evaluate the performances of the whole system.Results All the blocks had excellent pixels identification.An average energy resolution of 11.39%for 511 keV and 21.37%for 140 keV was obtained.In the PET mode,the best spatial resolution was better than 2 mm and the system sensitivity reached up to 11.05%at 60 mm distance.In the single photon emission imaging mode,a spatial resolution better than 3 mm was obtained.Conclusion The results indicated that the system has a good overall performance and can be used in breast imaging and other general PET applications.It also has the potential to be used for single photon emission imaging.In pursuit of a better spatial resolution of cross-plane,PSF and DOI technology will be developed in the next work.For specific applications,further improvement of the detector system such as performance evaluation with phantoms will be carried out. | Zhen‑Rui Lu Xian‑Chao Huang Zhi‑Ming Zhang Ying‑Jie Wang Da‑Quan Cao Wei Zhou Xiao‑Yue Gu Xiao‑li Sun Pei Chai Hao‑Hui Tang Dao‑Wu Li Lin Li Chuang‑Xin Ma Long Wei | 2019 | Radiation Detection Technology and Methods2019,3,3: | 0 |
