1Toxicity of cadmium and its competition with mineral nutrients for uptake by plants:A review显示文摘Cadmium(Cd)is a toxic heavy metal occurring in the environment naturally and is also generated through various anthropogenic sources and acts as a pollutant.Human health is affected by Cd pollution in farmland soils because food is the main source of Cd intake in the non-smoking population.For crops,Cd toxicity may result from a disturbance in uptake and translocation of mineral nutrients and disturbance in plant metabolism,inhibiting plant growth and development.However,plants have Cd tolerance mechanisms,including restricted Cd uptake,decreased Cd root-to-shoot translocation,enhanced antioxidant enzyme activities,and increased production of phytochelatins.Furthermore,optimal supply of mineral nutrients is one of the strategies to alleviate the damaging effects of Cd on plants and to avoid its entry into the food chain.The emerging molecular knowledge contributes to understanding Cd uptake,translocation,and remobilization in plants.In this review,Cd toxicity and tolerance mechanisms,agricultural practices to minimize Cd accumulation,Cd competition with essential elements(calcium,copper,iron,zinc,and manganese),and genes associated with Cd uptake are discussed in detail,especially regarding how these mineral nutrients and genes play a role in decreasing Cd uptake and accumulation in crop plants.Shiyu QIN Hongen LIU Zhaojun NIE Zed RENGEL Wei GAO Chang LI Peng ZHAO 2020Pedosphere2020,30,2:20

3Design and optimization of seedling-feeding device for automatic maize transplanter with maize straw seedling-sprouting tray显示文摘This research aimed to solve current problems in the process of maize transplanting in China such as large labor intensity,low working efficiency and poor quality.On the basis of the structure of a seedling-sprouting tray made of maize straw and the agronomic requirements of maize production,this study developed a new feeding device for such a sprouting tray,determined the dimensions of the key components in a virtual environment via Solid Edge software and obtained optimal working parameters in combination with Matlab.Some tests on field validation and maize production were conducted as well.The test results showed the importance of the working parameters on an upright degree in descending order(as well as the best working parameters)to be the vertical angle of seedling planting(13.14°),the forward speed of locomotion(0.57 m/s),and the horizontal angle of the seedling box(22.5°).The standard deviation of the field validation was 6.04%,which was within the allowable range to meet the requirements of maize transplanting.Compared with maize transplanting machines(and manual transplanting operations)on the current market,the labor inputs,as well as the rates of spacing and upright degree qualification,omitted planting and the yield using the new feeding device for automatic transplanter with maize straw seedling-sprouting trays increased 0(6.9%),0(3.1%),0(4.5%)and 0(−1.0%),respectively;whereas,the manufacturing cost was reduced by 35.5%.The results can provide a technical basis and reference for subsequent development of automatic transplanters with maize straw seedling-sprouting trays.Zhang Wei Niu Zhaojun Li Lianhao Hou Yongrui 2015International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2015,8,6:8

5MPK14-mediated auxin signaling controls lateral root development via ERF13-regulated very-long-chain fatty acid biosynthesis显示文摘Auxin plays a critical role in lateral root(LR)formation.The signaling module composed of auxin-response factors(ARFs)and lateral organ boundaries domain transcription factors mediates auxin signaling to control almost every stage of LR development.Here,we show that auxin-induced degradation of the APETALA2/Ethylene Responsive Factor(AP2/ERF)transcription factor ERF13,dependent on MITOGENACTIVATED PROTEIN KINASE MPK14-mediated phosphorylation,plays an essential role in LR development.Overexpression of ERF13 results in restricted passage of the LR primordia through the endodermal layer,greatly reducing LR emergence,whereas the erf13 mutants showed an increase in emerged LR.ERF13 inhibits the expression of 3-ketoacyl-CoA synthase16(KCS16),which encodes a fatty acid elongase involved in very-long-chain fatty acid(VLCFA)biosynthesis.Overexpression of KCS16 or exogenous VLCFA treatment rescues the LR emergence defects in ERF13 overexpression lines,indicating a role downstream of the auxin-MPK14-ERF13 signaling module.Collectively,our study uncovers a novel molecular mechanism by which MPK14-mediated auxin signaling modulates LR development via ERF13-regulated VLCFA biosynthesis.Bingsheng Lv Kaijing Wei Kongqin Hu Te Tian Feng Zhang Zipeng Yu Dajian Zhang Yinghua Su Yalin Sang Xiansheng Zhang Zhaojun Ding 2021Molecular Plant2021,14,2:6

7AVP(4-8) Improves Cognitive Behaviors and Hippocampal Synaptic Plasticity in the APP/PS1 Mouse Model of Alzheimer’s Disease显示文摘Memory deficits with aging are related to the neurodegeneration in the brain, including a reduction in arginine vasopressin(AVP) in the brain of patients with Alzheimer’s disease(AD). AVP(4-8), different from its precursor AVP, plays memory enhancement roles in the CNS without peripheral side-effects. However, it is not clear whether AVP(4-8) can improve cognitive behaviors and synaptic plasticity in the APP/PS1 mouse model of AD. Here, we investigated for the first time the neuroprotective effects of AVP(4-8) on memory behaviors and in vivo long-term potentiation(LTP) in APP/PS1-AD mice.The results showed that:(1) APP/PS1-AD mice had lower spontaneous alternation in the Y-maze than wild-type(WT) mice, and this was significantly reversed by AVP(4-8);(2) the prolonged escape latency of APP/PS1-AD mice in the Morris water maze was significantly decreased by AVP(4-8), and the decreased swimming time in target quadrant recovered significantly after AVP(4-8) treatment;(3) in vivo hippocampal LTP induced by high-frequency stimulation had a significant deficit in the AD mice, and this was partly rescued by AVP(4-8);(4) AVP(4-8)significantly up-regulated the expression levels of postsynaptic density 95(PSD95) and nerve growth factor(NGF)in the hippocampus of AD mice. 8Molecular Epidemiological Characteristics of Gastroenteritis Outbreaks Caused by Norovirus GII.4 Sydney[P31]Strains—China,October 2016–December 2020显示文摘Introduction:Human noroviruses are the leading cause of acute viral gastroenteritis(AGE)worldwide in all age groups.GII.4 strains have been the predominant genotype circulating globally over the last 2 decades and since 2012.GII.4 Sydney viruses have emerged and caused the majority of AGE outbreaks worldwide.Methods:Data from norovirus outbreaks from the laboratory-based surveillance of norovirus outbreaks in China(CaliciNet China)between October 2016–December 2020 were analyzed.Results:During October 2016–December 2020,1,954 norovirus outbreaks were reported,and positive fecal samples from 1,352(69.19%)outbreaks were genotyped.GII.4 Sydney[P31]viruses accounted for 2.1%(October 2016–August 2017),5.5%(September 2017–August 2018),3.3%(September 2018–August 2018),26.6%(September 2019–August 2020),and and 1.1%(September 2020–December 2020)of GII outbreaks,respectively.Compared to reference strains of GII.4 Sydney[P31]from 2012 to 2013,7 amino acid mutations in epitopes[A(297,372 and 373),B(333),E(414),and H(309 and 310)]and 1 in human histo-blood group antigens binding site at site II 372 were found by analyzing 9 GII.4 Sydney[P31]complete genomic sequences.Conclusions:This report identified the genomic variation of GII.4 Sydney[P31]from CaliciNet China.Continued surveillance with prompt genotyping and genetic analysis is necessary to monitor the emergence of novel GII.4 variants.Xi Zhu Yaqing He Xingyan Wei Xiangyu Kong Qing Zhang Jingxin Li Miao Jin Zhaojun Duan 2021China CDC weekly2021,3,53:3
9Phosphomolybdic acid-modified highly organized TiO2 nanotube arrays with rapid photochromic performance显示文摘TiO2 nanotube arrays were prepared by means of an electrochemical anodization technique in an organic electrolyte solution doped with polyvinyl pyrrolidone (PVP) and were subsequently modified with phosphomolybdic acid (PMoA) to obtain PMoA/TiO2 nanotube arrays. The microstructure and photochromic properties were investigated via X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy (UV-vis), and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The results indicated that the Keggin structure of PMoA and the nanotube structure of TiO2 were not destroyed, and there was a strong degree of interaction between PMoA and TiO2 at the biphasic interface with lattice interlacing during the compositing process. The XPS results further indicated that there was a change in the chemical microenvironment during the formation process of the composite, and a new charge transfer bridge was formed through the Mo-O-Ti bond. Under visible light irradiation, the colorless PMoA/TiO2 nanotube array quickly turned blue and exhibited a photochromic response together with reversible photochromism in the presence of H2O2. 11Mapping Human Pluripotent Stem Cell-derived Erythroid Differentiation by Single-cell Transcriptome Analysis显示文摘There is an imbalance between the supply and demand of functional red blood cells(RBCs)in clinical applications.This imbalance can be addressed by regenerating RBCs using several in vitro methods.Induced pluripotent stem cells(iPSCs)can handle the low supply of cord blood and the ethical issues in embryonic stem cell research,and provide a promising strategy to eliminate immune rejection.However,no complete single-cell level differentiation pathway exists for the iPSC-derived erythroid differentiation system.In this study,we used iPSC line BC1 to establish a RBC regeneration system.The 10X Genomics single-cell transcriptome platform was used to map the cell lineage and differentiation trajectory on day 14 of the regeneration system.We observed that iPSC differentiation was not synchronized during embryoid body(EB)culture.The cells(on day 14)mainly consisted of mesodermal and various blood cells,similar to the yolk sac hematopoiesis.We identified six cell classifications and characterized the regulatory transcription factor(TF)networks and cell-cell contacts underlying the system.iPSCs undergo two transformations during the differentiation trajectory,accompanied by the dynamic expression of cell adhesion molecules and estrogen-responsive genes.We identified erythroid cells at different stages,such as burst-forming unit erythroid(BFU-E)and orthochromatic erythroblast(ortho-E)cells,and found that the regulation of TFs(e.g.,TFDP1 and FOXO3)is erythroid-stage specific.Immune erythroid cells were identified in our system.This study provides systematic theoretical guidance for optimizing the iPSC-derived erythroid differentiation system,and this system is a useful model for simulating in vivo hematopoietic development and differentiation.Zijuan Xin Wei Zhang Shangjin Gong Junwei Zhu Yanming Li Zhaojun Zhang Xiangdong Fang 2021Genomics, Proteomics & Bioinformatics2021,19,3:2

13Extensive evolution analysis of the global chikungunya virus strains revealed the origination of CHIKV epidemics in Pakistan in 2016显示文摘Chikungunya virus(CHIKV) is a mosquito-borne virus that causes epidemics widely in the world especially in the tropical and subtropical regions. Phylogenetic analysis has found that the CHIKV lineages were associated with the spatial and temporal distributions, which were related to the virus adaption to the major mosquito species and their distributions. In this study, we reported the complete genome sequences of eight CHIKV isolates from the outbreak in Pakistan last year. Then we reviewed the evolutionary history using extensive phylogenetic analysis, analyzed lineagespecific substitutions in viral proteins, and characterized the spreading pathway of CHIKV strains including the Pakistani strains. The results showed that the Pakistani stains belonged to the ECSA.IOL sub-lineage and derived from India. The genetic properties of the Pakistani strains including the adaptive substitution to vectors were further characterized, and the potential risks from the occurrence of CHIKV infection in Pakistan were discussed. 15Effect of returns on microstructure and mechanical properties of Al-Cu based alloys显示文摘It is well known that maximal utilization of the returns can be beneficial for cost reduction,preservation of natural resources and protection of the environment,by making them into recycled Al-Cu alloys.In this study,the influences of returns on the microstructure and mechanical properties of Al-Cu alloys have been investigated by means of optical microscopy and scanning electron microscopy.The results showed that the returns could be used to produce recycled Al-Cu alloys with fine and uniform microstructure and excellent mechanical properties,including ultimate tensile strength,yield strength and ductility.It was found that the maximum performance of the recycled Al-Cu alloy in their properties could be achievable when the returns content was 20wt.%,which gave 219 MPa,87.16 MPa and 12.15% at as-cast state,and 525 MPa,445.3 MPa and 14.14% after heat treated,in their tensile strengths,yield strengths and elongations,respectively.These values were much higher than those of primary alloy.Li Min Wang Hongwei Wei Zunjie Zhu Zhaojun 2010China Foundry2010,7,1:2
16Non-equilibrium microstructure and the metastable phase of Al-9.6wt%Mg Alloy solidification under high pressure显示文摘The non-equilibrium microstructure and a new metastable phase of Al-9.6wt%Mg alloy solidified at 6 GPa were studied by optical microscope,differential scanning calorimetry,X-ray diffraction and transmission electron microscope.The results showed that dendrite microstructure was refined,and the solid solubility of Mg in α-Al phase increased greatly.Correspondingly,the lattice parameter of α-Al phase increased.Al3Mg2 phases disappeared under high pressure solidification.In particular,a metastable phase with small size(20 nm or so) was produced in the alloy,its melting temperature range was 464~518.2 ℃,which was higher than that of Al3Mg2 phase(453~465 ℃) under normal pressure.These metastable phases located in the interdendritic position.It was the first time that the metastable phase was found in Al-Mg alloy at a high pressure of 6 GPa.The formation mechanism of the metastable phases was discussed.WEI Zunjie,WANG Zhenling,WANG Hongwei,ZHU Zhaojun,CAO Lei,and LI Zhiwei School of Materials Science and Engineering,Harbin Institute of Technology,Harbin 150001,China 2007Rare Metals2007,26,S1:2
