1Improving the stability and bioavailability of tea polyphenols by encapsulations:a review显示文摘Tea polyphenols(TPPs)have attracted significant research interest due to their health benefits.However,TPPs are sensitive to certain environmental and gastrointestinal conditions and their oral bioavailability was found to be very low.Delivery systems made of food-grade materials have been reported to improve the shelf-life,bioavailability and bioefficacy of TPPs.This review discusses the chemistry of TPPs;the setbacks of TPPs for application;and the strategies to counteract application limitations by rationally designing delivery systems.An overview of different formulations used to encapsulate TPPs is provided in this study,such as emulsion-based systems(liposome,nanoemulsion,double emulsion,and Pickering emulsion)and nano/microparticles-based systems(protein-based,carbohydrate-based,and bi-polymer based).In addition,the stability,bioavailability and bioactivities of encapsulated TPPs are evaluated by various in vitro and in vivo models.The current findings provide scientific insights in encapsulation approaches for the delivery of TPPs,which can be of great value to TPPs-fortified food products.Further explorations are needed for the encapsulated TPPs in terms of their applications in the real food industry as well as their biological fate and functional pathways in vivo.Zhiya Yin Ting Zheng Chi-Tang Ho Qingrong Huang Qingli Wu Man Zhang 2022Food Science and Human Wellness2022,11,3:7
2Compatibility Evaluation between Direct Coal Liquefaction Residue and Bitumen显示文摘The compatibility between direct coal liquefaction residue(DCLR) and five kinds of pure bitumen(Shell-90,SK-90, ZSY-70, DM-70 and KLMY-50) was evaluated in this study. The rheological characteristics, glass transition temperatures(T_g), solubility parameters(SP) and SARA(saturates, aromatics, resins, and asphaltenes) fractions of DCLR,five kinds of pure bitumen and their blends(named as DCLR modified bitumen) were measured using the dynamic shear rheometer(DSR), differential scanning calorimetry(DSC), viscosity, and SARA tests, respectively. And the compatibility between DCLR and pure bitumen was characterized with three approaches, viz. the Cole-Cole plot,T_g, and the solubility parameter difference(SPD) method. Since each method has its own working mechanism, the compatibility ranking for the DCLR and five kinds of pure bitumen is slightly different according to the three approaches. However, the difference is pretty close and sometimes can be ignored. The general compatibility ranking decreases in the following order: Shell-90≈SK-90>DM-70≈ZSY-70>KLMY-50, which is affected by the asphaltenes content and the colloid index(I_c) value in the pure bitumen. 3Numerical study on structure of meso-β scale rainstorm system during IOP523 of HUAMEX显示文摘One of the scientific goals of HUAMEX (Torrential Rainfall Experiment over Both Sides of the Taiwan Strait and Adjacent Area), a special project in the National '863' Scientific Project, is to reveal meso-β scale structure of heavy rainfall. However, limited by the observational instruments, the resolution of the data attained from the outfield scientific observation network cannot reveal the meso-β scale structure. A 36-h numerical simulation of heavy rainfall case from May 23 to May 24, 1998 during IOP523 of HUAMEX was performed by the mesoscale numerical model of PSU/NCAR MM5, and the meso-p scale structure of con-vective system was examined based on the model output in this note. The results point out that the meso-β scale features of the heavy rainfall are clear considerably at low, middle and upper levels, respectively. There is a strong ageostrophic feature between the geopotential height field and the wind field on the upper level.
