| 1 | Hierarchically structured porous materials: synthesis strategies and applications in energy storage显示文摘To address the growing energy demands of sustainable development,it is crucial to develop new materials that can improve the efficiency of energy storage systems.Hierarchically structured porous materials have shown their great potential for energy storage applications owing to their large accessible space,high surface area,low density,excellent accommodation capability with volume and thermal variation,variable chemical compositions and well controlled and interconnected hierarchical porosity at different length scales.Porous hierarchy benefits electron and ion transport;and mass diffusion and exchange.The electrochemical behavior of hierarchically structured porous materials varies with different pore parameters.Understanding their relationship can lead to the defined and accurate design of highly efficient hierarchically structured porous materials to enhance further their energy storage performance.In this review,we take the characteristic parameters of the hierarchical pores as the survey object to summarize the recent progress on hierarchically structured porous materials for energy storage.This is the first of this kind exclusively to survey the performance of hierarchically structured porous materials from different porous characteristics.For those who are not familiar with hierarchically structured porous materials,a series of very significant synthesis strategies of hierarchically structured porous materials are firstly and briefly reviewed.This will be beneficial for those who want to quickly obtain useful reference information about the synthesis strategies of new hierarchically structured porous materials to improve their performance in energy storage.The effect of different organizational,structural and geometric parameters of porous hierarchy on their electrochemical behavior is then deeply discussed.We outline the existing problems and development challenges of hierarchically structured porous materials that need to be addressed in renewable energy applications.We hope that this review can stimulate strong intuition into the design and application of new hierarchically structured porous materials in energy storage and other fields. | Liang Wu Yu Li Zhengyi Fu Bao-Lian Su | 2020 | National Science Review2020,7,11: | 9 |
| 2 | Recent Advancements on Photothermal Conversion and Antibacterial Applications over MXenes-Based Materials显示文摘The pernicious bacterial proliferation and emergence of super-resistant bacteria have already posed a great threat to public health,which drives researchers to develop antibiotic-free strategies to eradicate these fierce microbes.Although enormous achievements have already been achieved,it remains an arduous challenge to realize efficient sterilization to cut off the drug resistance generation.Recently,photothermal therapy(PTT)has emerged as a promising solution to efficiently damage the integrity of pathogenic bacteria based on hyperthermia beyond their tolerance.Until now,numerous photothermal agents have been studied for antimicrobial PTT.Among them,MXenes(a type of two-dimensional transition metal carbides or nitrides)are extensively investigated as one of the most promising candidates due to their high aspect ratio,atomic-thin thickness,excellent photothermal performance,low cytotoxicity,and ultrahigh dispersibility in aqueous systems.Besides,the enormous application scenarios using their antibacterial properties can be tailored via elaborated designs of MXenes-based materials.In this review,the synthetic approaches and textural properties of MXenes have been systematically presented first,and then the photothermal properties and sterilization mechanisms using MXenes-based materials are documented.Subsequently,recent progress in diverse fields making use of the photothermal and antibacterial performances of MXenes-based materials are well summarized to reveal the potential applications of these materials for various purposes,including in vitro and in vivo sterilization,solar water evaporation and purification,and flexible antibacterial fabrics.Last but not least,the current challenges and future perspectives are discussed to provide theoretical guidance for the fabrication of efficient antimicrobial systems using MXenes. | Shuyan Hao Hecheng Han Zhengyi Yang Mengting Chen Yanyan Jiang Guixia Lu Lun Dong Hongling Wen Hui Li Jiurong Liu Lili Wu Zhou Wang Fenglong Wang | 2022 | Nano-Micro Letters2022,14,11: | 4 |
| 3 | Towards understanding the brittle–ductile transition in the extreme manufacturing显示文摘The brittle–ductile transition(BDT) widely exists in the manufacturing with extremely small deformation scale, thermally assisted machining, and high-speed machining. This paper reviews the BDT in extreme manufacturing. The factors affecting the BDT in extreme manufacturing are analyzed, including the deformation scale and deformation temperature induced brittle-to-ductile transition, and the reverse transition induced by grain size and strain rate. A discussion is arranged to explore the mechanisms of BDT and how to improve the machinability based on the BDT. It is proposed that the mutual transition between brittleness and ductility results from the competition between the occurrence of plastic deformation and the propagation of cracks. | 4 | Point attention network for point cloud semantic segmentation显示文摘We address the point cloud semantic segmentation problem through modeling long-range dependencies based on the self-attention mechanism.Existing semantic segmentation models generally focus on local feature aggregation.By comparison,we propose a point attention network(PA-Net)to selectively extract local features with long-range dependencies.We specially devise two complementary attention modules for the point cloud semantic segmentation task.The attention modules adaptively integrate the semantic inter-dependencies with long-range dependencies.Our point attention module adaptively integrates local features of the last layer of the encoder with a weighted sum of the long-range dependency features.Regardless of the distance of similar features,they are all correlated with each other.Meanwhile,the feature attention module adaptively integrates inter-dependent feature maps among all local features in the last layer of the encoder.Extensive results prove that our two attention modules together improve the performance of semantic segmentation on point clouds.We achieve better semantic segmentation performance on two benchmark point cloud datasets(i.e.,S3DIS and Scan Net).Particularly,the Io U on 11 semantic categories of S3DIS is significantly boosted. | Dayong REN Zhengyi WU Jiawei LI Piaopiao YU Jie GUO Mingqiang WEI Yanwen GUO | 2022 | Science China(Information Sciences)2022,65,9: | 2 |
| 5 | Origin and differentiation of endemism in the flora of China显示文摘The present paper analyzed 239 endemic genera in 67 families in the flora of seed plants in China.The results showed that there are five families containing more than ten endemic genera,namely,Gesneriaceae(27),which hereafter refers to the number of endemic genera in China,Composite(20),Labiatae(12),Cruciferae(11),and Umbelliferae(10),15 families with two endemic genera,and another 30 families with only one endemic genus.Four monotypic families(Ginkgoaceae,Davidiaceae,Eucommiaceae and Acanthochlamydaceae)are the most ancient,relict and characteristic in the flora of seed plants in China.Based on integrative data of systematics,fossil history,and morphological and molecular evidence of these genera,their origin,evolution and relationships were discussed.In gymnosperms,all endemic genera are relicts of the Arctic-Tertiary flora,having earlier evolutionary history,and can be traced back to the Cretaceous or to the Jurassic and even earlier.In angiosperms,the endemic genera are mostly relicts,and are represented in all lineages in the“Eight-Class System of Classification of Angiosperms”,and endemism can be found in almost every evolutionary stage of extant angiosperms.The relict genera once occupied huge areas in the northern hemisphere in the Tertiary or the late Cretaceous,while neo-endemism mostly originated in the late Tertiary.They came from Arctic-Tertiary,Paleo-tropical-Tertiary and Tethys-Tertiary florisitic elements,and the blend of the three elements with many genera of autochthonous origin.The endemism was formed when some dispersal routes such as the North Atlantic Land Bridge,and the Bering Bridge became discontinuous during the Tertiary,as well as the climate change and glaciations in the late Tertiary and the Quaternary.Therefore,the late Tertiary is the starting point of extant endemism of the flora in China. | WU Zhengyi SUN Hang ZHOU Zhekun PENG Hua LI Dezhu | 2007 | Frontiers in Biology2007,2,2: | 2 |

| 13 | Large enhancement of transient photovoltage induced by the absorption of the metal Al显示文摘The transient photovoltage of ITO/CuPc/Al is studied. The transient photovoltage under the Al side illumination is much greater than that under ITO side illumination. It is not negligible while light is almost completely absorbed by the Al layer. It seems that the light absorption of the Al layer could enhance the generation of the photoinduced carriers in the organic layer, which is further shown by the transient photovoltage study of ITO/Al/NPB/Au. A possible mechanism proposed is that the holes generated in the Al are because of light absorption that is injected from the Al to organic materials.
