1Overtopping breaching of cohesive homogeneous earth dam with different cohesive strength显示文摘In consideration of the range of clay content of Chinese earth dams, the world's highest prototype tests have been made to research on the effects of cohesive strength of filling of cohesive homogeneous earth dam on breach formation. Three breach mechanisms were presented, they were the source-tracing erosion of dam body with the form of 'multilevel headcut', 'two-helix flow' erosion of dam crest and collapse of breach sidewalls due to instability. It can be concluded that the cohesive strength of filling of earth dam has great effect on breach formation. When the cohesive strength is bigger, the breach process becomes slower, and the peak outflow and the final width and depth of breach become smaller. The main character of the breach formation is head cutting and dumping collapse. When the cohesive strength is smaller, the breach process becomes faster, and the peak outflow, the final width and depth of breach become bigger. 2Nutrient concentration variations during Oenanthe javanica growth and decay in the ecological floating bed system显示文摘The ecological floating bed system is a natural alternative to technical methods of wastewater treatment and involves complex processes induced by plants or microorganisms in the wastewater. This study aimed to identify nutrient concentration variations during Oenanthe javanica (Blume) DC growth and decay in the ecological floating bed system. Results showed that the third-order polynomial equation was suitable to describe pollutant concentration changes, showing that the effect of O. javanica ecological floating bed system on polluted water could be divided into the purification phase and decay phase. During the purification phase, nutrient concentrations rapidly decreased because O. javanica influenced water microbial communities and water physical parameters (i.e., dissolved oxygen, pH, and temperature), and had a direct uptake of nutrients. However, during the decay phase, nitrogen and phosphorus concentrations in the plant tissues decreased, and these lost nutrients ultimately transferred to water and led to water quality deterioration. Results also showed that the uptake and storage of O. javanica in nutrients were temporary and the plant served only as media of the nutrients removed from the water. 3Interface issues of lithium metal anode for high-energy batteries: Challenges, strategies, and perspectives显示文摘Lithium(Li)metal is considered as one of the most promising anode materials for next-generation high-energy-density storage systems.However,the practical application of Li metal anode is hindered by interfacial instability and air instability due to the highly reactivity of Li metal.Unstable interface in Li metal batteries(LMBs)directly dictates Li dendrite growth,“dead Li”and low Coulombic efficiency,resulting in inferior electrochemical performance of LMBs and even safety issues.In addition,its sensitivity to ambient air leads to the severe corrosion of Li metal anode,high requirements of production and storage,and increased manufacturing cost.Plenty of efforts in recent years have overcome many bottlenecks in these fields and hastened the practical applications of high-energy-density LMBs.In this review,we focus on emerging methods of these two aspects to fulfill a stable and low cost electrode.In this perspective,design artificial solid electrolyte interphase(SEI)layers,construct three-dimensional conductive current collectors,optimize electrolytes,employ solid-state electrolytes,and modify separators are summarized to be propitious to ameliorate interfacial stability.Meanwhile,ex situ/in situ formed protective layers are highlighted in favor of heightening air stability.Finally,several possible directions for the future research on advanced Li metal anode are addressed.Yiyao Han Bo Liu Zhen Xiao Wenkui Zhang Xiuli Wang Guoxiang Pan Yang Xia Xinhui Xia Jiangping Tu 2021InfoMat2021,3,2:11
4Numerical Analysis of Welding Residual Stress and Distortion in Laser+GMAW Hybrid Welding of Aluminum Alloy T-Joint显示文摘A 3-D finite element model is developed to predict the temperature field and thermally induced residual stress and distortion in laser+GMAW hybrid welding of 6061-T6 aluminum alloy T-joint. And the characteristics of residual stress distribution and deformation are numerically investigated. In the simulation, the heat source model takes into account the effect of joint geometric shape and welding torch slant on the heat flux distribution and a sequentially coupled thermo-mechanical method is used. The calculated results show that higher residual stress is distributed in and surround the weld zone. Its peak value is very close to the yield strength of base metal. 5A comparison of the biological,geological events and environmental backgrounds between the Neoproterozoic-Cambrian and Permian-Triassic transitions显示文摘The Neoproterozoic-Cambrian(N-C) and Permian-Triassic(P-T) transitions have been regarded the two most critical transitions in earth history because of the explosive biological radiation in the early Cambrian(the Cambrian Explosion) and the largest mass extinction at the end-Permian.Previous studies suggest that these two critical transitions showed certain comparability in major evolutionary events.In other words,a series of biological,geological,and geochemical events that had happened in the N-C transition occurred repeatedly during the P-T transition.Those events included continental re-configuration related to the deep mantle dynamics,global-scale glaciations,large C-,Sr-,and S-isotope perturbations indicating atmospheric and oceanic changes,abnormal precipitation of carbonates,and associated multiple biological radiations and mass extinctions.The coupling of those events in both N-C and P-T transitions suggests that deep mantle dynamics could be a primary mechanism driving dramatic changes of environment on the earth's surface,which in turn caused major biological re-organizations.A detailed comparison of those events during the two critical transitions indicates that despite their general comparability,significant differences do exist in magnitude,duration,and frequency.The supercontinent Rodinia began to rift before the Snowball Earth time.By contrast,the supercontinent Pangea entered the dispersal stage after the greatest glaciation from the Late Carboniferous to Cisuralian.Quantitative data and qualitative analyses of different fossil groups show a more profound mass extinction during the N-C transition than at the end-Permian in terms of ecosystem disruption.This is indicated by the disappearance of the whole Ediacaran biota at the N-C boundary.The subsequent appearances of many new complex animals at phylum level in the early Cambrian mark the establishment of a brand new ecosystem.However,the end-Permian mass extinction is manifested mainly by the extinction of many different taxa at class and order levels.Although it caused the extinction of 95% of marine species and 75% of terrestrial species as well as complete cessation of coal and reef deposits after the mass extinction,this high-level biological re-organization still occurred within an established ecosystem,however drastic it may seem.Survived or Lazarus taxa re-occupied the existing ecospace in a relatively short duration after the end-Permian mass extinction.C-isotope excursions display large perturbations during both transitions,yet also in different magnitudes and frequencies,which suggest different atmospheric and oceanic conditions.The recurrent geological and geochemical events as well as the coupled major biological turnovers during the two transitions provide new clues to understanding the interplays among the earth-life system.Thus,it is essential to carry out multidisciplinary studies from the deep internal system to the surface of the Earth as a whole in order to unravel the interactions of different spheres of the earth.ShuZhong Shen MaoYan Zhu XiangDong Wang GuoXiang Li ChangQun Cao Hua Zhang 2010Science China Earth Sciences2010,53,12:9
6Medical expenditures for colorectal cancer diagnosis and treatment: A 10-year high-level-hospital-based multicenter retrospective survey in China, 2002-2011显示文摘Objective: Colorectal cancer(CRC) causes a substantial burden of disease in China and the evidence of economic burden triggered is fundamental for priority setting. The aim of this survey was to quantify medical expenditures and the time trends for CRC diagnosis and treatment in China.Methods: From 2012 to 2014, a hospital-based multicenter retrospective survey was conducted in 13 provinces across China. For each eligible CRC patient diagnosed from 2002 to 2011, clinical information and expenditure data were extracted using a uniform questionnaire. All expenditure data were reported in Chinese Yuan(CNY)using 2011 values.Results: Of the 14,536 CRC patients included, the average age at diagnosis was 58.2 years and 15.8% were stageI cases. The average medical expenditure per patient was estimated at 37,902 CNY [95 % confidence interval(95%CI): 37,282-38,522], and the annual average increase rate was 9.2% from 2002 to 2011(P for trend <0.001), with a cumulative increase of 2.4 times(from 23,275 CNY to 56,010 CNY). The expenditure per patient in stages Ⅰ, Ⅱ, Ⅲ and Ⅳ were 31,698 CNY, 37,067 CNY, 38,918 CNY and 42,614 CNY, respectively(P<0.001). Expenditure significantly differed within various subgroups. Expenses for drugs contributed the largest proportion(52.6%).Conclusions: These conservative estimates illustrated that medical expenditures for CRC diagnosis and treatment in tertiary hospitals in China were substantial and increased rapidly over the 10 years, with drugs continually being the main expense by 2011. Relatively, medical expenditures are lower for CRC in the earlier stages. 7基于流固耦合的脑动脉瘤非连续生长过程的数值模拟显示文摘研究血液动力学因素在脑动脉瘤生长过程中的变化规律,可为从临床上更深入地了解脑动脉瘤的成病机理提供帮助.本文在考虑血液与血管壁之间流固耦合作用的基础上,建立了脑动脉瘤的非连续生长模型,并应用大型通用有限元软件ANSYS与大型流体力学软件CFX相结合对所建立的上述生长模型进行了定常流动计算与分析,获得了瘤体生长过程的血液动力学因素的作用机制和变化规律,为分析和研究动脉瘤的生长、破裂提供了新的理论参考和研究思路.模拟结果表明:随着瘤体的生长,瘤体内逐渐形成涡流区,并且涡流区域逐渐扩大,强度逐渐变强;涡流形成时,血液在瘤壁下游发生了分流,分流点的位置随着生长过程的进行发生变化,而分流点两侧瘤壁承受相反方向的壁面剪切力;瘤壁内的Von Mises应力在初始阶段内,不断减小,在生长的后期,逐渐增大;在整个生长过程中Von Mises应力均呈现为在瘤颈部最大,顶部最小的分布规律;与此同时,瘤体在垂直于流动方向上的最大变形位置由起始的瘤顶处转移到瘤颈处,最后再回到瘤顶处.马小奇 王跃社 于方俊 WANG Guoxiang 2010中国科学:物理学、力学、天文学2010,40,8:6
8Fertilization strategy and application model using a centrifugal variable-rate fertilizer spreader显示文摘With the sustainable development of precision agriculture and the steady progress of variable-rate fertilization technology,the centrifugal variable-rate fertilizer spreader has attracted research attention due to its lower incidence of crush damage,high efficiency,and low cost.To improve fertilization accuracy and uniformity,spreading performance tests were conducted using this spreader in accordance with the test methods specified in ISO 5690 and ASAE S341.2,in which particle mass was weighed in a two-dimensional matrix of collection boxes.The effects of fertilization strategies that control the feed gate flow rate and the disc rotation speed on particle distribution,and application rate per unit area and effective swath width,were investigated.A variable-rate fertilization model was developed by analyzing the variation characteristics resulting from an increasing and decreasing application rate,and field experiments were conducted to verify its accuracy.The results indicated that when the feed gate flow rate was 300 g/s,the mean application rate was 26.47 g,the standard deviation is 2.81,and the coefficient of variation of particle distribution is at its minimum value of 14.25%.When the disc rotation speed was 600 r/min,the fertilizer was most evenly distributed with a coefficient of variation of 13.86%,and an average effective spreader swath width of 24.51 m.The proposed variable-rate fertilization model showed a high fitting degree with an S-shaped function curve for both increasing and decreasing distribution rates and the yielding coefficients of determination were more than 0.82 and 0.71,respectively.The average error between the model predictions and the test results was 9.47%,and the coefficients of determination for the increasing and decreasing distribution rates were 0.91 and 0.82,respectively,which confirmed the accuracy of the proposed variable-rate fertilization model.This investigation provided a theoretical basis for traditional empirical fertilization using centrifugal variable-rate fertilizer spreaders,and guides the selection of a multiple trajectory,variable-rate fertilization strategy.Yinyan Shi Zhichao Hu Xiaochan Wang Morice O.Odhiambo Guoxiang Sun 2018International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2018,11,6:6

10Stress protein expression in early phase spinal cord ischemia/reperfusion injury显示文摘Spinal cord ischemia/reperfusion injury is a stress injury to the spinal cord. Our previous studies using differential proteomics identified 21 differentially expressed proteins (n > 2) in rabbits with spinal cord ischemia/reperfusion injury. Of these proteins, stress-related proteins included protein disulfide isomerase A3, stress-induced-phosphoprotein 1 and heat shock cognate protein 70. In this study, we established New Zealand rabbit models of spinal cord ischemia/reperfusion injury by abdominal aorta occlusion. Results demonstrated that hind limb function initially improved after spinal cord ischemia/reperfusion injury, but then deteriorated. The pathological morphology of the spinal cord became aggravated, but lessened 24 hours after reperfusion. However, the numbers of motor neurons and interneurons in the spinal cord gradually decreased. The expression of protein disulfide isomerase A3, stress-induced-phosphoprotein 1 and heat shock cognate protein 70 was induced by ischemia/reperfusion injury. The expression of these proteins increased within 12 hours after reperfusion, and then decreased, reached a minimum at 24 hours, but subsequently increased again to similar levels seen at 6-12 hours, showing a characterization of induction-inhibition-induction. These three proteins were expressed only in cytoplasm but not in the nuclei. Moreover, the expression was higher in interneurons than in motor neurons, and the survival rate of interneurons was greater than that of motor neurons. 11Neuritin promotes angiogenesis through inhibition of DLL4/Notch signaling pathway显示文摘Neuritin is a member of the neurotrophic factor family,which plays an important role in the promotion and development of the nervous system.Neuritin is also involved in angiogenesis.Neuritin was recently found to be a negative regulatory factor of the Notch 1 signaling pathway.Notch signaling pathway is known as a regulatory pathway of angiogenesis.Thus,neuritin may play a role in angiogenesis through the Notch signaling pathway.In the present study,we investigated the expressions of neuritin and Notch signaling pathway factors in the pulmonary vascular tissue.The results showed that neuritin expression was increased in the paraneoplastic vascular tissue and decreased in the lung cancer vascular tissue.The neuritin expression was increased with the increase of vascular tissue density,and a negative correlation between neuritin expression and delta-like ligand 4(DLL4)was identified in vascular tissues of lung cancer.Overexpression of neuritin in human umbilical vein endothelial cells(HUVECs)inhibited the expressions of Notch signaling pathway-associated factors,including DLL4,NICD,and Hes-1,and promoted the migration and tubular formation of HUVECs.In conclusion,our results indicated that neuritin is involved in angiogenesis and may play a role in angiogenesis through the Notch signaling pathway.This study provides a theoretical basis for clinical anti-angiogenesis therapy.Li Yang Xuhui Wang Jiawei Sun Chunyan Liu Guoxiang Li Jingling Zhu Jin Huang 2021Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2021,53,6:4
12Image segmentation algorithm for greenhouse cucumber canopy under various natural lighting conditions显示文摘In this study,machine vision technology was used to capture images of greenhouse cucumber canopy,and image segmentation was implemented under various natural lighting conditions.The images were enhanced by multi-scale retinex with color restore(MSRCR),and the MSRCR images were segmented by four algorithms:normalized difference index(NDI),excess green(ExG),modified excess green(MExG),and modified excess green minus excess red(MExG-ExR).The results indicated that compared with the original images,under various lighting conditions,the average evaluation indexes of brightness,information entropy,average gradient and mean gray value of the MSRCR images were increased by 38.71%,8.04%,4.54%,and 37.81%,respectively,and only the contrast degree decreased by 12.13%.The MExG-ExR segmentation algorithm was used to segment the MSRCR images(fifty images under various lighting conditions in the test and it performed best among the four segmentation algorithms,average overlap ratios and recognition rates of were 99.28%and 98.91%,respectively,while 38.39%and 37.95%respectively for original image.These results indicated that the MExG-ExR segmentation algorithm applied to a MSRCR canopy image produced the most stable results among the four algorithms.By using the MSRCR image enhancement algorithm,the interference of lighting on greenhouse cucumber canopy images was reduced and the foundation for achieving accurate segmentation of a canopy region was laid,which is of great significance for greenhouse cucumber phenotypic parameter measurements.Sun Guoxiang Li Yongbo Wang Xiaochan Hu Guyue Wang Xuan Zhang Yu 2016International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2016,9,3:4
13Monitoring subsidence rates along road network by persistent scatterer SAR interferometry with high-resolution TerraSAR-X imagery显示文摘Ground subsidence is one of the key factors damaging transportation facilities,e.g.,road networks consisting of highways and railways.In tiiis paper,we propose to apply the persistent scatterer synthetic aperture radar interferometry(PS-InSAR)approach mat uses highresolution TerraSAR-X(TSX)imagery to extract the regional scale subsidence rates(i.e.,average annual subsidence in mm/year)along road networks.The primary procedures involve interferometric pair selection,interferogram generation,persistent scatterer(PS)detection,PS networking,phase parameterization,and subsidence rate estimation.The Xiqing District in southwest Tianjin(China)is selected as the study area.This district contains one railway line and several highway lines.A total of 15TSX images covering this area between April 2009 and June 2010 are utilized to obtain the subsidence rates by using the PS-InSAR(PSI)approach.The subsidence rates derived from PSI range from—68.7 to—1.3 mm/year.These findings show a significantly uneven subsidence pattern along the road network.Comparison between the PSI-derived subsidence rates and the leveling data obtained along the highways shows that the mean and standard deviation(SD)of the discrepancies between die two types of subsidence rates are 0.1 and±3.2 mm/year,respectively.The results indicate that the high-resolution TSX PSI is capable of providing comprehensive and detailedsubsidence information regarding road networks with millimeter-level accuracy.Further inspections under geological conditions and land-use categories in the study area indicate that the observed subsidence is highly related to aquifer compression due to groundwater pumping.Therefore,measures should be taken to mitigate groundwater extraction for the study area.Bing Yu Guoxiang Liu Rui Zhang Hongguo Jia Tao Li Xiaowen Wang Keren Dai Deying Ma 2013Journal of Modern Transportation2013,21,4:4

16OsPKpa_1 encodes a plastidic pyruvate kinase that affects starch biosynthesis in the rice endosperm显示文摘Pyruvate kinase(PK) is a key enzyme in glycolysis and carbon metabolism. Here, we isolated a rice(Oryza sativa) mutant, w59, with a white-core floury endosperm. Map-based cloning of w59 identified a mutation in OsPKpa_1, which encodes a plastidic isoform of PK(PKp). OsPKpa_1 localizes to the amyloplast stroma in the developing endosperm, and the mutation of OsPKpa_1 in w59 decreases the plastidic PK activity, resulting in dramatic changes to the lipid biosynthesis in seeds. The w59 grains were also characterized by a marked decrease in starch content. Consistent with a decrease in number and size of the w59 amyloplasts, large empty spaces were observed in the central region of the w59 endosperm, atthe early grain-filling stage. Moreover, a phylogenetic analysis revealed four potential rice isoforms of OsPKp. We validated the in vitro PK activity of these OsPKps through reconstituting active PKp complexes derived from inactive individual OsPKps, revealing the heteromeric structure of rice PKps, which was further confirmed using a protein–protein interaction analysis. 19A novel Z-scheme CeO_(2)/g-C_(3)N_(4)heterojunction photocatalyst for degradation of Bisphenol A and hydrogen evolution and insight of the photocatalysis mechanism显示文摘CeO_(2)/g-C_(3)N_(4)heterojunction photocatalyst had been successfully fabricated through a one-step in-situ pyrolysis formation of 3D hollow CeO_(2)mesoporous nanospheres and 2D g-C_(3)N_(4)nanosheets together with simultaneous removal of carbon sphere templates after heat treatment.The sample shows high catalytic performances for photocatalytic hydrogen generation and photocatalytic oxidation of Bisphenol A(BPA)under visible light irradiation,and the catalytic degradation route of BPA was suggested by the degradation products determined by GC-MS.The enhancing catalytic activity was attributed to the effective interfacial charge migration and separation.Finally,it was proposed that the CeO_(2)/g-C_(3)N_(4)heterojunction photocatalyst could follow a more appropriate Z-scheme charge transfer mechanism,which was confirmed by the analysis of experiment and theoretical calculation results.Wei Zhao Tiantian She Jingyi Zhang Guoxiang Wang Sujuan Zhang Wei Wei Gang Yang Lili Zhang Dehua Xia Zhipeng Cheng Haibao Huang Dennis Y.C.Leung 2021Journal of Materials Science & Technology2021,,26:3
20Internal Microanatomy and Zoological Affinity of the Early Cambrian Olivooides显示文摘The early Cambrian pentamerous microfossil Olivooides/Punctatus in South China,which is characterized by a diagnostic stellate tubular apex,has been well-known for its almost complete development sequence that can be confidently traced from embryos and hatched juveniles,to conical adults.However,its zoological affinity remains highly controversial.Here we describe the internal microanatomic structures of the soft-body inside the peridermal theca of Olivooides multisulcatus Qian,1977,including interradial pairs of tentacles,adradial and perradial frenula,perradial oral marginal lappets and twins of perradial gastric saccule-like humps as well as a circular velarium with striated coronal muscles.Particularly,one specimen shows bifurcated velarial canals along the bell aperture.Both the components of the soft-body and the external theca(or cyst)are arranged in perfect pentaradial symmetry.These characteristics are more compatible with those of living cubomedusans and co-occurring Cambrian athecate embryonic cubozoans.Concerning the presence of peridermal theca,Olivooides most likely represents an extinct thecate stem-group cubomedusae but devoid of both perradial eyes and specialized pedalia.The well-grown soft body inside the peridermal tube displays a set of mixed features of both polyp and medusa.Han Jian LI Guoxiang KUBOTA Shin OU Qiang TOSHINO Sho WANG Xing YANG Xiaoguang UESUGI Kentaro MASATO Hoshino SASAKI Osamu KANO Harumasa SATO Tomohiko KOMIYA Tsuyoshi 2016Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2016,90,1:3
