1Treatment and outcomes of 1041 pediatric patients with neuroblastoma who received multidisciplinary care in China显示文摘Importance:Neuroblastoma is the most common extracranial malignant solid tumor in children.Multidisciplinary care is critical to improving the survival of pediatric patients with neuroblastoma.Objective:To systematically summarize the clinical characteristics of children with neuroblastoma and evaluate their prognosis with multidisciplinary care provided in a single center.Methods:This retrospective study analyzed the clinical data of 1041 patients with neuroblastoma who were diagnosed,treated,and followed-up in the Hematology-Oncology Center of Beijing Children’s Hospital from 2007 to 2019.Results:The median age at diagnosis was 34 months;80.8%of the patients were younger than 5 years of age.Notably,243 patients(23.3%)were classified as low-risk,249 patients(23.9%)were classified as intermediate-risk,and 549(52.7%)were classified as high-risk.Furthermore,956 patients underwent surgical resections;986(94.7%)patients received chemotherapy;and 176 patients with high-risk neuroblastoma received hematopoietic stem cell transplantation.The 5-year event-free survival(EFS)rate was 91.3%and 5-year overall survival(OS)rate was 97.5%in low-risk group;in the intermediate-risk group,these rates were 85.1%and 96.7%,respectively,while they were 37.7%and 48.9%in the high-risk group(P<0.001 for both).The 5-year EFS and OS rates were significantly higher in patients diagnosed between 2015 and 2019 than in patients diagnosed between 2007 and 2014(P<0.001).In total,278 patients(26.7%)exhibited tumor relapse or progression;the median interval until relapse or progression was 14 months.Of the 233 patients who died,83%died of relapse or progression of neuroblastoma and 4.3%died of therapy-related complications.Interpretation:The 5-year OS rate was low in high-risk patients,compared with low-and intermediate-risk patients.Multidisciplinary care is critical for improvement of survival in pediatric patients with neuroblastoma.Additional treatment strategies should be sought to improve the prognosis of patients with high-risk neuroblastoma.Yan Su Hong Qin Chenghao Chen Shengcai Wang Shihan Zhang Dawei Zhang Mei Jin Yun Peng Lejian He Xiaoman Wang Suyun Qian Maoquan Qin Ming Ge Fuquan Zhang Qi Zeng Huanmin Wang Xiaoli Ma Xin Ni 2020Pediatric Investigation2020,4,3:16

3Ultralow-loss compact silicon photonic waveguide spirals and delay lines显示文摘Low-loss and compact optical waveguides are key for realizing various photonic integrated circuits with long onchip delay lines,such as tunable optical delay lines,optical coherence tomography,and optical gyroscopes.In this paper,a low-loss and compact silicon photonic waveguide spiral is proposed by introducing broadened Archimedean spiral waveguides with a tapered Euler S-bend.A 100-cm-long waveguide spiral is realized with a minimal bending radius as small as 10 μm by using a standard 220-nm-thick silicon-on-insulator foundry process,and the measured propagation loss is as low as 0.28 dB/cm.Furthermore,the present waveguide spirals are used to realize a 10-bit tunable optical delay line,which has a footprint as small as 2.2 mm × 5.9 mm and a dynamic range of 5120 ps with a fine resolution of 10 ps.SHIHAN HONG LONG ZHANG YI WANG MING ZHANG YIWEI XIE DAOXIN DAI 2022Photonics Research2022,10,1:3
4Affected zone generated around the erosion pit on carbon steel surface at the incipient stage of vibration cavitation显示文摘The characteristics of erosion pits on a carbon steel surface were investigated at the incipient stage of cavitation erosion. After a 5-minute experiment performed in an ultrasonic vibration system, needle-like erosion pits appeared on the polished steel surface, and a specially affected zone was formed around the pit. The shape of the pit and the plastic deformation of the affected zone indicate that the me- chanical impaction on the surface is the main reason for the cavitation damage. On the other hand, the iridescent color, the decreased surface hardness and the precipitated carbides on the affected zone prove that the affected zone has experienced a tempering process with the temperature higher than 300°C. The lack of oxygen in the affected zone also proves that it is not a chemical oxygen result. 5Four-Octyl itaconate ameliorates periodontal destruction via Nrf2-dependent antioxidant system显示文摘Periodontitis is a widespread oral disease characterized by continuous inflammation of the periodontal tissue and an irreversible alveolar bone loss, which eventually leads to tooth loss. Four-octyl itaconate(4-OI) is a cell-permeable itaconate derivative and has been recognized as a promising therapeutic target for the treatment of inflammatory diseases. Here, we explored, for the first time,the protective effect of 4-OI on inhibiting periodontal destruction, ameliorating local inflammation, and the underlying mechanism in periodontitis. Here we showed that 4-OI treatment ameliorates inflammation induced by lipopolysaccharide in the periodontal microenvironment. 4-OI can also significantly alleviate inflammation and alveolar bone loss via Nrf2 activation as observed on samples from experimental periodontitis in the C57BL/6 mice. This was further confirmed as silencing Nrf2 blocked the antioxidant effect of 4-OI by downregulating the expression of downstream antioxidant enzymes. Additionally, molecular docking simulation indicated the possible mechanism under Nrf2 activation. Also, in Nrf2-/-mice, 4-OI treatment did not protect against alveolar bone dysfunction due to induced periodontitis, which underlined the importance of the Nrf2 in 4-OI mediated periodontitis treatment.Our results indicated that 4-OI attenuates inflammation and oxidative stress via disassociation of KEAP1-Nrf2 and activation of Nrf2 signaling cascade. 6Structurally tunable characteristics of ionic liquids for optimizing lithium plating/stripping via electrolyte engineering显示文摘Electrolyte chemistry offers the opportunity to regulate the solid electrolyte interphase(SEI) and Li^(+)solvation,which is considered to be crucial to the growth of lithium crystals for safe lithium metal batteries(LMBs).Structurally tunable characteristics of ionic liquids(ILs) from anion type,cationic substituent chain length and cationic substituents,will contribute this field.Here,we explore the influence mechanism of imidazole-based ILs as electrolyte additives on Li+solvation and the formation of SEI.ILs can participate into the formation of efficient SEI,together with cathode electrolyte interphase(CEI).Moreover,ILs can also regulate the sheath structure of Li^(+)solvation,to fasten the kinetics of Li.Furthermore,the imidazole-based cations with long alkyl chain can form an electrostatic shield around newly formed Li nucleus,and suppress further Li plating at this site.Under the optimized condition,the 1-octyl-3-methylimidazolium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide([OMIm]TFSI) additive shows the best ability to enhance the electrochemical performance,endowing the Li||Li symmetric cell with a stable life(over800 h) at 0.5 mA cm^(-2) and the Li||LiNi_(0.6)Mn_(0.2)Co_(0.2)O_(2)(NMC622) full cell with a high capacity of 141.7 mAh g^(-1) after 200 cycles at 0.5 C.Shihan Qi Jiandong Liu Jian He Huaping Wang Mingguang Wu Daxiong Wu Junda Huang Fang Li Xin Li Yurong Ren Jianmin Ma 2021Journal of Energy Chemistry2021,30,12:2
7Recent Advances of Metal-Organic Frameworks-based Nanozymes for Bio-applications显示文摘Artificial nanoenzymes with enzyme-like catalytic activity have gradually become an alternative to natural enzymes due to their low production cost,high stability,and good tolerance.In recent years,various enzyme mimics have emerged with the rapid development of nano-teclnology.Metal-organic frameworks(MOFs)are a novel class of porous inorganic-organic hybrid materials made from metal ions/clusters and organic ligands,and MOFs-based nanozymes show great prospect in biosensing,biocatalysis,biomedical imaging,and therapeutic applications,due to unique properties,such as high specific surface area,high porosity,tunable morphology,and excellent biocatalytic properties.In this paper,the recent progresses concerning MOFs-based nanozymes are systematically summarized,including the synthesis,design strategies and related applications,which are divided into two major categories,namely,MOFs structured nanoenzymes and MOFs composite structured nanoenzymes.Meanwhile,the applications of various classifications of MOFs research are introduced.At the end,current challenges and future perspectives of MOFs-based nanozymes are also discussed.It is highly expected that this review on this important area can provide a meaningful guidance for tumor therapy,biosensing and other aspects.WANG Yuda ZULPYA Mahmut ZHANG Xinyao XU Shihan SUN Jiao DONG Biao 2022Chemical Research in Chinese Universities2022,38,6:2
8Pseudo-concentrated electrolytes for lithium metal batteries显示文摘Lithium metal batteries suffer from short lifespans and low Coulombic efficiency (CE) due to the high reactivity of Li and the poor stability of the solid electrolyte interphase (SEI). Herein, we propose the concept of a pseudo-concentrated electrolyte (PCE) induced by an electron-deficient additive (4-pyridylboronic acid;4-PBA) to form a robust, LiF-rich SEI, thus addressing the above issues. Molecular dynamics simulations confirm that 4-PBA can increase the coordination number of PF6^(-) anions in the Li+ solvation sheath to achieve pseudo-concentrated LiPF6 in the electrolyte. Moreover, the 4-PBA can scavenge harmful PF5 decomposed from LiPF6 to stabilize the LiF-rich SEI. The resulting robust LiF-rich SEI promotes Li growth along the SEI/Li interface and represses the growth of Li dendrites. Thus, excellent performance is achieved, with a high CE of 97.1% for a Li||Cu cell at 1.0 ​mA ​cm^(−2), and over 950 cycles at 0.5 ​mA ​cm^(−2) for Li||Li symmetric cells with 1.0 ​wt% 4-PBA electrolyte. 10Multi-decadal trends in the tropical Pacific western boundary currents retrieved from historical hydrological observations显示文摘As large-scale ocean circulation is a key regulator in the redistribution of oceanic energy, evaluating the multi-decadal trends in the western Pacific Ocean circulation under global warming is essential for not only understanding the basic physical processes but also predicting future climate change in the western Pacific. Employing the hydrological observations of World Ocean Atlas 2018(WOA18) from 1955 to 2017, this study calculated the geostrophic currents, volume transport and multidecadal trends for the North Equatorial Current(NEC), the North Equatorial Countercurrent(NECC), the Mindanao Current(MC), the Kuroshio Current(KC) in the origin and the New Guinea Coastal Undercurrent(NGCUC) within tropical western Pacific Ocean over multi-decades. Furthermore, this study examined the contributions of temperature and salinity variations. The results showed significant strengthening trends in NEC, MC and NGCUC over the past six decades, which is mainly contributed by temperature variations and consistent with the tendency in the dynamic height pattern. Zonal wind stress averaged over the western Pacific Ocean in the same latitude of each current represents the decadal variation and multi-decadal trends in corresponding ocean currents, indicating that the trade wind forcing plays an important role in the decadal trend in the tropical western Pacific circulation. Uncertainties in the observed hydrological data and trends in the currents over the tropical western Pacific are also discussed. 15Developmental validation of the novel six-dye Goldeneye^(TM)DNA ID System 35InDel kit for forensic application显示文摘Insertion/deletion polymorphisms(InDels)have been treated as a prospective and helpful genetic marker in the fields of forensic human identification,anthropology and population genetics for the past few years.In this study,we developed a six-dye multiplex typing system consisting of 34 autosomal InDels and Amelogenin for forensic application.The contained InDels were specifically selected for Chinese population with the MAF≥0.25 in East Asia,which do not overlap with the markers of Investigator^(■)DIPplex kit.The typing system was named as GoldeneyeTM DNA ID System 35InDel Kit,and a series of developmental validation studies including repeatability/reproducibility,concordance,accuracy,sensitivity,stability,species specificity and population genetics were conducted on this kit.We confirmed that the 35InDel kit is precise,sensitive,species specific and robust for forensic practice.Moreover,the 35InDel kit is capable of typing DNA extracted from forensic routine case-type samples as well as degraded samples and mixture samples.All markers are proved to be highly polymorphic with an average observed heterozygosity(He)of 0.4582.The combined power of discrimination(CPD)is 0.999999999999978 and the combined power of exclusion in duos(CPE_(D))and trios(CPE_(T))are 0.978837 and 0.999573,respectively,which are higher than those of the Investigator^(■)DIPplex kit.Thus,the GoldeneyeTM DNA ID System 35InDel kit is suitable for forensic human identification and could serve as a supplementary typing system for paternity testing.Qi Yang Huan Yu Yiling Qu Xiaochun Zhang Ruocheng Xia Ziwei Wang Rui Tan Lei Xiong Shihan Xi Jun Wu Yuzhen Gao Suhua Zhang Chengtao Li 2022Forensic Sciences Research2022,7,4:0

19Hepatoblastoma with neonatal necrotizing enterocolitis:Two case reports显示文摘We report two children with hepatoblastoma(HB)with a history of neonatal necrotizing enterocolitis(NEC).Case 1 was diagnosed with HB at 5 months of age.Liver enlargement was found during the NEC operation at 3 months of age and then was clinically diagnosed by imaging.After six chemotherapy courses,a partial hepatectomy was performed.Three months after ceasing the chemotherapy,a chest computed tomography scan suggested that distant metastasis of the tumor should be considered,and the lesion was removed.However,9 months after the operation,alpha-fetoprotein concentrations were increased,and abdominal imaging showed a recurrence of the tumor in situ,resulting in a hepatectomy.Case 2 was diagnosed with NEC shortly after birth and underwent an intestinal resection and anastomosis 1 month later.He was diagnosed with HB at 3 years of age.Hepatectomy was performed after five courses of chemotherapy.Chemotherapy was stopped after 10 courses,and alpha-fetoprotein concentrations were normal.At present,both children have survived and are in a healthy condition.Physicians should be aware of the possibility of HB and a history of NEC in children.Premature birth and low birth weight are common factors leading to the pathogenesis of HB and NEC.The association between these two diseases requires further study。Sidou He Xisi Wang Chao Duan Wen Zhao Chiyi Jiang Shihan Zhang Binglin Jian Wei Yang Tong Yu Libing Fu Huanmin Wang Xiaoli Ma 2023Cancer Innovation2023,2,6:0
20Systemic antibiotics increase microbiota pathogenicity and oral bone loss显示文摘Periodontitis is the most widespread oral disease and is closely related to the oral microbiota.The oral microbiota is adversely affected by some pharmacologic treatments.Systemic antibiotics are widely used for infectious diseases but can lead to gut dysbiosis,causing negative effects on the human body.Whether systemic antibiotic-induced gut dysbiosis can affect the oral microbiota or even periodontitis has not yet been addressed.In this research,mice were exposed to drinking water containing a cocktail of four antibiotics to explore how systemic antibiotics affect microbiota pathogenicity and oral bone loss.The results demonstrated,for the first time,that gut dysbiosis caused by long-term use of antibiotics can disturb the oral microbiota and aggravate periodontitis.Moreover,the expression of cytokines related to Th17 was increased while transcription factors and cytokines related to Treg were decreased in the periodontal tissue.Fecal microbiota transplantation with normal mice feces restored the gut microbiota and barrier,decreased the pathogenicity of the oral microbiota,reversed the Th17/Treg imbalance in periodontal tissue,and alleviated alveolar bone loss.This study highlights the potential adverse effects of long-term systemic antibiotics-induced gut dysbiosis on the oral microbiota and periodontitis.A Th17/Treg imbalance might be related to this relationship.Importantly,these results reveal that the periodontal condition of patients should be assessed regularly when using systemic antibiotics in clinical practice.Xulei Yuan Fuyuan Zhou He Wang Xinxin Xu Shihan Xu Chuangwei Zhang Yanan Zhang Miao Lu Yang Zhang Mengjiao Zhou Han Li Ximu Zhang Tingwei Zhang Jinlin Song 2023International Journal of Oral Science2023,15,1:0
