1Spatio-temporal rupture process of the 2008 great Wenchuan earthquake显示文摘Focal mechanism and dynamic rupture process of the Wenchaun Ms8.0 earthquake in Sichuan province on 12 May 2008 were obtained by inverting long period seismic data from the Global Seismic Network (GSN), and characteristics of the co-seismic displacement field near the fault were quantitatively ana-lyzed based on the inverted results to investigate the mechanism causing disaster. A finite fault model with given focal mechanism and vertical components of the long period P-waves from 21 stations with evenly azimuthal coverage were adopted in the inversion. From the inverted results as well as after-shock distribution, the causative fault of the great Wenchuan earthquake was confirmed to be a fault of strike 225°/dip 39°/rake 120°, indicating that the earthquake was mainly a thrust event with right-lateral strike-slip component. The released scalar seismic moment was estimated to be about 9.4×1020―2.0×1021 Nm, yielding moment magnitude of Mw7.9―8.1. The great Wenchuan earthquake occurred on a fault more than 300 km long, and had a complicated rupture process of about 90 s duration time. The slip distribution was highly inhomogeneous with the average slip of about 2.4 m. Four slip-patches broke the ground surface. Two of them were underneath the regions of Wenchuan-Yingxiu and Beichuan, respectively, with the first being around the hypocenter (rupture initiation point), where the largest slip was about 7.3 m, and the second being underneath Beichuan and extending to Pingwu, where the largest slip was about 5.6 m. The other two slip-patches had smaller sizes, one having the maximum slip of 1.8 m and lying underneath the north of Kangding, and the other having the maximum slip of 0.7 m and lying underneath the northeast of Qingchuan. Average and maximum stress drops over the whole fault plane were estimated to be 18 MPa and 53 MPa, respectively. In addition, the co-seismic displacement field near the fault was analyzed. The results indicate that the features of the co-seismic displacement field were coincident with those of the intensity distribution in the meizo-seismal area, implying that the large-scale, large-amplitude and surface-broken thrust dislocation should be responsible for the serious disaster in the near fault area.ZHANG Yong FENG WanPeng XU LiSheng ZHOU ChengHu CHEN YunTai 2009Science China Earth Sciences2009,52,2:68

3Source process of M_s6.4 earthquake in Ning’er, Yunnan in 2007显示文摘The moment tensor solution, source time function and spatial-temporal rupture process of the MS6.4 earthquake, which occurred in Ning’er, Yunnan Province, are obtained by inverting the broadband waveform data of 20 global stations. The inverted result shows that the scalar seismic moment is 5.51×1018 Nm, which corresponds to a moment magnitude of MW 6.4. The correspondent best double couple solution results in two nodal planes of strike 152°/dip 54°/rake 166°, and strike 250°/dip 79°/ rake 37°, respectively. Considering the isoseismals and geological structures in the meizoseismal region, the first nodal plane (strike 152°/ dip 54°/ rake 166°) is preferred to be the seismogenic fault. Thus, the MS6.4 earthquake occurred mainly along a right-lateral fault striking 152°. The source time function shows that the duration time of the earthquake is about 14 s. The most of the energy releases within the first 11 s and in 11-14 s the rupture is weak. The snapshots of the slip-rate indicate that the rupture process has 3 more detailed stages. In the first stage of the first 4 s after rupture initiation, the rupture propagates simultaneously toward both strike and dip directions; in the second stage of the following 3 s, the rupture extends to down-dip direction; and in the third stage, the rupture looks to be scattering on the fault. In general, this earthquake is of bilateral rupture, and the rupture mainly takes place in strike-dip direction. The major ruptured area is in the shape of a diamond with a dimension of 19 km. On the whole fault plane, the maximum slip is about 1.2 m, the average slip is about 0.1 m, the maxi-mum slip-rate is 0.4 m/s and the average slip-rate is 0.1 m/s. 4Progress of Jinping Underground laboratory for Nuclear Astrophysics(JUNA)显示文摘Jinping Underground laboratory for Nuclear Astrophysics(JUNA) will take the advantage of the ultra-low background of CJPL lab and high current accelerator based on an ECR source and a highly sensitive detector to directly study for the first time a number of crucial reactions occurring at their relevant stellar energies during the evolution of hydrostatic stars. In its first phase, JUNA aims at the direct measurements of^(25)Mg(p,γ)^(26)Al,^(19)F(p,α)^(16)O,^(13)C(α,n)^(16)O and ^(12)C(α,γ)^(16)O reactions. The experimental setup,which includes an accelerator system with high stability and high intensity, a detector system, and a shielding material with low background, will be established during the above research. 6Complex multiple-segment ruptures of the 28 September 2018, Sulawesi,Indonesia, earthquake显示文摘On 28 September 201 & an A4W7.5 earthquake struck Palu, Indonesia, and caused a large number of deaths and economic losses. Seismic moment tensor solutions determined by different institutes consistently suggest that this earthquake is overall a strike-slip event. However, it caused an unexpected large-scale tsunami around the Palu bay area. Commonly, the displacements of hanging wall and foot wall of a strike-slip event are mainly in horizontal directions, and are considerably weak in vertical components. Since vertical deformations are critical for tsunami generations, it is necessary to identify whether the tsunami is related to the source process or not. 13Influence of extracellular polymeric substances from activated sludge on the aggregation kinetics of silver and silver sulfide nanoparticles显示文摘Extracellular polymeric substances(EPS)in activated sludge from wastewater treatment plants(WWTPs)could affect interactions between nanoparticles and alter their migration behavior.The influence mechanisms of silver nanoparticles(Ag NPs)and silver sulfide nanoparticles(Ag_(2)S NPs)aggregated by active EPS sludge were studied in monovalent or divalent cation solutions.The aggregation behaviors of the NPs without EPS followed the Derjaguin-Landau-Verwey-Overbeek(DLVO)theory.The counterions aggravated the aggregation of both NPs,and the divalent cation had a strong neutralizing effect due to the decrease in electrostatic repulsive force.Through extended DLVO(EDLVO)model analysis,in NaNO3 and low-concentration Ca(NO_(3))_(2)(<10 mmol/L)solutions,EPS could alleviate the aggregation behaviors of Cit-Ag NPs and Ag_(2)S NPs due to the enhancement of steric repulsive forces.At high concentrations of Ca(NO_(3))_(2)(10‒100 mmol/L),exopolysaccharide macromolecules could promote the aggregation of Cit-Ag NPs and Ag_(2)S NPs by interparticle bridging.As the final transformation form of Ag NPs in water environments,Ag_(2)S NPs had better stability,possibly due to their small van der Waals forces and their strong steric repulsive forces.It is essential to elucidate the surface mechanisms between EPS and NPs to understand the different fates of metal-based and metal-sulfide NPs in WWTP systems.Wanpeng Chen Jiahui Song Shaojie Jiang Qiang He Jun Ma Xiaoliu Huangfu 2022Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering2022,16,2:0
14Long-term ultra-precision phase synchronization technique for locking the repetition rate of OFCs based on FLOM-PD显示文摘Long-term ultra-precision synchronization between optical frequency combs(OFCs) and microwave oscillators is important for various fields, including scientific observation, smart grid, positioning and navigation, etc. Here, a phase-locked loop system based on fiber loop optical-microwave phase detector(FLOM-PD) is proposed to realize the synchronization of the repetition rate of OFCs and rubidium atomic clocks. Firstly, the scheme and locking process of the system are elaborated, then the mathematical model of the system is established, and the feasibility of the scheme is proved by theoretical analysis and experimental verification. 15Catalytic activity of cerium-doped Ru/Al_(2)O_(3) during ozonation of dimethyl phthalate显示文摘In this paper,factors influencing themineralization of dimethyl phthalate(DMP)during catalytic ozonation with a cerium-doped Ru/Al_(2)O_(3) catalyst were studied.The catalytic contribution was calculated through the results of a comparison experiment.It showed that doping cerium significantly enhanced catalytic activity.The total organic carbon(TOC)removal over the doped catalyst at 100 min reached 75.1%,61.3% using Ru/Al_(2)O_(3) catalyst and only 14.0% using ozone alone.Catalytic activity reached the maximum when 0.2% of ruthenium and 1.0% of cerium were simultaneously loaded onto Al_(2)O_(3) support.Results of experiments on oxidation by ozone alone,adsorption of the catalyst,Ce ion’s and heterogeneous catalytic ozonation confirmed that the contribution of heterogeneous catalytic ozonation was about 50%,which showed the obvious effect of Ru-Ce/Al_(2)O_(3) on catalytic activity.Yunrui ZHOU Wanpeng ZHU Xun CHEN 2008Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering2008,2,3:0
16Cardiac regeneration: Pre-existing cardiomyocyte as the hub of novel signaling pathway显示文摘In the mammalian heart,cardiomyocytes are forced to withdraw from the cell cycle shortly after birth,limiting the ability of the heart to regenerate and repair.The development of multimodal regulation of cardiac proliferation has verified that pre-existing cardiomyocyte proliferation is an essential driver of cardiac renewal.With the continuous development of genetic lineage tracking technology,it has been revealed that cell cycle activity produces polyploid cardiomyocytes during the embryonic,juvenile,and adult stages of cardiogenesis,but newly formed mononucleated diploid cardiomyocytes also elevated sporadically during myocardial infarction.It implied that adult cardiomyocytes have a weak regenerative capacity under the condition of ischemia injury,which offers hope for the clinical treatment of myocardial infarction.However,the regeneration frequency and source of cardiomyocytes are still low,and the mechanism of regulating cardiomyocyte proliferation remains further explained.It is noteworthy to explore what force triggers endogenous cardiomyocyte proliferation and heart regeneration.Here,we focused on summarizing the recent research progress of emerging endogenous key modulators and crosstalk with other signaling pathways and furnished valuable insights into the internal mechanism of heart regeneration.In addition,myocardial transcription factors,non-coding RNAs,cyclins,and cell cycle-dependent kinases are involved in the multimodal regulation of pre-existing cardiomyocyte proliferation.Ultimately,awakening the myocardial proliferation endogenous modulator and regeneration pathways may be the final battlefield for the regenerative therapy of cardiovascular diseases.Tao Wang Xinzhe Chen Kai Wang Jie Ju Xue Yu Wanpeng Yu Cuiyun Liu Yin Wang 2024Genes & Diseases2024,11,2:0
