1Assessment of soil erosion and sediment delivery ratio using remote sensing and GIS:a case study of upstream Chaobaihe River catchment, north China显示文摘Soil erosion in catchment areas reduces soil productivity and causes a loss of reservoir capacity.Several parametric models have been developed to predict soil erosion at drainage basins,hill slopes and field levels.The well-known Universal Soil Loss Equation(USLE) represents a standardized approach.Miyun reservoir,which sits on Chaobaihe River,is the main surface source of drinking water for Beijing,the capital of China.Water and soil loss are the main reasons for sediment to enter a reservoir.Sediment yield is assessed using a version of the universal soil loss equation modified by Chinese researchers.All year 2001 and 2002 data for factors in the equation are obtained from remote sensing or collected to form an analysis database.These factors are computed and mapped using Geographic Information System tools.Based on the complex database,the modified model is developed.Through pixel-based computing the sediment yield per hydrological unit is calculated.The model does not consider sediment deposition occurring on hillslopes.Gross soil loss is often higher than the sum of those measured at catchment outlets.The sediment delivery ratio(SDR) per hydrological unit is also computed.This study analyzes the main contributions of sediment yields on sub-basins of the Chaobaihe River to the Miyun Reservoir,and discusses the possible reasons for the difference between SDRs in 2001 and 2002 at different outlets.The result shows that in the upper basin of the Miyun Reservoir,in 2001 the area of erosion that could be neglected was 8,202.76 km2,the area of low erosion 3,269.59 km2,the area of moderate erosion 3,400.97 km2,the area of high erosion 436.89 km2,the area of strong erosion 52.19 km2 and the area of severe erosion 3.13 km2.The highest soil loss was 70,353 t/km2.yr in Fengning County in 2001,followed by 64,418 t/km2.yr by Chicheng County in 2001.The SDR in 2002 was lower than that in 2001.The main reasons are the decreasing rainfall erosivity and total runoff.Weifeng ZHOU Bingfang WU 2008International Journal of Sediment Research2008,23,2:13
2Propofol differentially induces unconsciousness and respiratory depression through distinct interactions between GABAa receptor and GABAergic neuron in corresponding nuclei显示文摘Propofol is the most commonly used intravenous anesthetic worldwide.It can induce loss of consciousness prior to the occurrence of severe respiratory suppression,which is also a pharmacodynamic feature of all general anesthetics.However,the neural mechanisms underlying this natural phenomenon are controversial and highly related to patient safety.In the present study,we demonstrated that the pharmacodynamic effects of propofol(50 and 100 μM)on suppression of consciousness-related excitatory postsynaptic currents in the medial prefrontal cortex(mPFC)and centromedian nucleus of the thalamus(CMT)were lower than those in the kernel respiratory rhythmogenesis nucleus pre-Botzinger complex(PrBo).Furthermore,we unexpectedly found that the GABAa receptor β3 subunit is the key target for propofol's action and that it is mutually and exclusively expressed in GABAergic neurons.It is also more abundant in the mPFC and CMT,but mainly co-localized with GABAergic neurons in the PrBo.As a result,the differentiated expression pattern should mediate more neuron suppression through the activation of GABAergic neurons in the mPFC and CMT at low doses of propofol(50 μM).However,PrBo GABAergic neurons were only activated by propofol at a high dose(100 μM).These results highlight the detailed pharmacodynamic effects of propofol on consciousness-related and respiration-related nuclei and provide the distinct interaction mechanism between the β3 subunit and GABAergic neurons in mediating the suppression of consciousness compared to the inhibition of respiration.Junli Jiang Yingfu Jiao Po Gao Wen Yin Wei Zhou Yunchun Zhang Yanjun Liu Daxiang Wen Yuan Wang Liang Zhou Tian Yu Weifeng Yu 2021Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2021,53,8:11
3Numerical and experimental analysis of the reusability of spring energized metal C rings显示文摘It is well known that static seals are usually designed to be used once.In this paper,we discuss the reusability of a type of static seal called the spring energized metal C ring,which is required to be reused 4–5 times without maintenance during the lifetime of the pump.A theoretical analysis based on the nonlinear finite element method and an experimental investigation of the reusability of the C ring are carried out.The effects of the elastic modulus of the ring material,the ring wall thickness,the amount of assembly interference between the spring and the C ring,the operating temperature and the compression ratio are discussed.The parameter S,which denotes the reaction force difference percentage,is determined to measure the reusability of the C ring.The results show that the ring wall thickness plays an important role in the reusability.Although the normal force of a thick wall decreases after the ring is reused eight times,the value is still higher than the first normal force of a thin wall.In contrast,the elastic modulus of the material has the lowest impact.Here,a pre-compression ratio of 18.2%not only produces a larger first normal force but also leads to a smaller reduction in the normal force when the ring is reused.A simulated experiment is carried out to investigate the influence of the coating of the C ring on its reusability.The results show that when plastic deformation occurs on the contact surface,the contact state of the C ring coating becomes a major factor that affects the seal performance.Aging treatment at high temperatures(250°C)reduces the binding force of the silver coating on the spring energized metal C ring,which leads to the deterioration in the reusability of the ring.LIU Ying ZHOU Kun HUANG WeiFeng GAO Zhi WANG YuMing 2014Science China(Technological Sciences)2014,57,8:9
4Platelet-rich plasma accelerates skin wound healing by promoting re-epithelialization显示文摘Background:Autologous platelet-rich plasma(PRP)has been suggested to be effective for wound healing.However,evidence for its use in patients with acute and chronic wounds remains insufficient.The aims of this study were to comprehensively examine the effectiveness,synergy and possible mechanism of PRP-mediated improvement of acute skin wound repair.Methods:Full-thickness wounds were made on the back of C57/BL6 mice.PRP or saline solution as a control was administered to the wound area.Wound healing rate,local inflammation,angiogenesis,re-epithelialization and collagen deposition were measured at days 3,5,7 and 14 after skin injury.The biological character of epidermal stem cells(ESCs),which reflect the potential for re-epithelialization,was further evaluated in vitro and in vivo.Results:PRP strongly improved skin wound healing,which was associated with regulation of local inflammation,enhancement of angiogenesis and re-epithelialization.PRP treatment significantly reduced the production of inflammatory cytokines interleukin-17A and interleukin-1β.An increase in the local vessel intensity and enhancement of re-epithelialization were also observed in animals with PRP administration and were associated with enhanced secretion of growth factors such as vascular endothelial growth factor and insulin-like growth factor-1.Moreover,PRP treatment ameliorated the survival and activated the migration and proliferation of primary cultured ESCs,and these effects were accompanied by the differentiation of ESCs into adult cells following the changes of CD49f and keratin 10 and keratin 14.Conclusion:PRP improved skin wound healing by modulating inflammation and increasing angiogenesis and re-epithelialization.However,the underlying regulatory mechanism needs to be investigated in the future.Our data provide a preliminary theoretical foundation for the clinical administration of PRP in wound healing and skin regeneration.Pengcheng Xu Yaguang Wu Lina Zhou Zengjun Yang Xiaorong Zhang Xiaohong Hu Jiacai Yang Mingying Wang Binjie Wang Gaoxing Luo Weifeng He Biao Cheng 2020Burns & Trauma2020,8,1:8
5Effects of spatial resolution of remotely sensed data on estimating urban impervious surfaces显示文摘Impervious surfaces are the result of urbanization that can be explicitly quantified,managed and controlled at each stage of land development.It is a very useful environmental indicator that can be used to measure the impacts of urbanization on surface runoff,water quality,air quality,biodiversity and microclimate.Therefore,accurate estimation of impervious surfaces is critical for urban environmental monitoring,land management,decision-making and urban planning.Many approaches have been developed to estimate surface imperviousness,using remotely sensed data with various spatial resolutions.However,few studies,have investigated the effects of spatial resolution on estimating surface imperviousness.We compare medium-resolution Landsat data with high-resolution SPOT images to quantify the imperviousness in Beijing,China.The results indicated that the overall 91% accuracy of estimates of imperviousness based on TM data was considerably higher than the 81% accuracy of the SPOT data.The higher resolution SPOT data did not always predict the imperviousness of the land better than the TM data.At the whole city level,the TM data better predicts the percentage cover of impervious surfaces.At the sub-city level,however,the ring belts from the central core to the urban-rural peripheral,the SPOT data may better predict the imperviousness.These results highlighted the need to combine multiple resolution data to quantify the percentage of imperviousness,as higher resolution data do not necessarily lead to more accurate estimates.The methodology and results in this study can be utilized to identify the most suitable remote sensing data to quickly and efficiently extract the pattern of the impervious land,which could provide the base for further study on many related urban environmental problems.Weifeng Li Zhiyun Ouyang Weiqi Zhou Qiuwen Chen 2011Journal of Environmental Sciences2011,23,8:8
6Estimating genetic diversity and sampling strategy for a wild soybean (Glycine soja) population based on different molecular markers显示文摘Genetic diversity is the basic and most important component of biodiversity. It is essential for the effective conservation and utilization of genetic resources to accurately estimate genetic diversity of the targeted species and populations. This paper reports analyses of genetic diversity of a wild soy-bean population using three molecular marker tech-nologies (AFLP, ISSR and SSR), and computer simulation studies of randomly selected subsets with different sample size (5―90 individuals) drawn 50 times from a total of 100 wild soybean individuals. The variation patterns of genetic diversity indices, including expected heterozygosity (He), Shannon diversity index (I), and percentage of polymorphic loci (P), were analyzed to evaluate changes of genetic diversity associated with the increase of individuals in each subset. The results demonstrated that (1) val-ues of genetic diversity indices of the same wild soybean population were considerably different when estimated by different molecular marker techniques; (2) genetic diversity indices obtained from subsets with different sample sizes also diverged considera-bly; (3) P values were relatively more reliable for comparing genetic diversity detected by different molecular marker techniques; and (4) different diver-sity indices reached 90% of the total genetic diversity of the soybean population quite differently in terms of the sample size (number of individuals) analyzed. When using the P value as a determinator, 30―40individuals could capture over 90% of the total ge-netic diversity of the wild soybean population. 7Gravity Changes Before Large Earthquakes in China: 1998-2005显示文摘Although it is well known that coseismic gravity changes take place during an earthquake, previous research has not yielded convincing evidence demonstrating that significant gravity changes occur before large earthquakes. Furthermore, even if we suspect that gravity changes occur before large earthquakes, we have yet to demonstrate how to consistently observe these changes for useful earthquake forecast that would bring benefits to society. We analyzed ground gravity survey data obtained in 1998, 2000, 2002, and 2005 at stations of the Crustal Movement Observation Network of China (CMONOC) and examined gravity changes be-fore the occurrence of nine large (Ms≥6.8) earthquakes that ruptured within or near China's Mainland and Taiwan from November 2001 to August 2008. Results from this analysis show that significant gravity changes occurred across a large region before each of these nine large earthquakes, and these changes were detected by repeated ground gravity surveys through CMONOC. Although these gravity changes were significant, more research is needed to investigate whether these gravity changes could be viewed as precursors of large earthquakes. Limitations and uncertainties in the data include sparseness of the gravity monitoring network, long time intervals between consecutive gravity surveys, inevitable measurement errors, hydrological effects on gravity, and effects of vertical crustal movements on gravity. 8Single Zircon LA-ICP-MS U-Pb Dating of the Guandimiao and Wawutang Granitic Plutons in Hunan,South China and Its Petrogenetic Significance显示文摘The Guandimao and Wawutang plutons are located at the center of Hunan, South China. The former is mainly composed of biotite monzonitic granites/granodiorites and two-mica monzonitic granites, but the latter only consists of biotite monzonitic granites. The zircon ages of 203.0±1.6 Ma (biotite monzonitic granites) and 208.0±3.2 Ma (two-mica monzonitic granites) for the Guandimao pluton and 204±3 Ma for the Wawutang pluton obtained with the LA-ICP-MS U-Pb dating indicate that they were formed during the late Indosinian. In consideration of other geochronological data from Indosinian rocks of South China and adjacent regions, it is inferred that the two plutons were derived from crustal materials by decompressional melting in a post-collisional tectonic setting during spontaneous thinning of the thickened curst. 9Protective effects of effective ingredients of Danshen (Radix Salviae Miltiorrhizae)and Honghua (Flos Carthami)compatibility after rat hippocampal neurons induced by hypoxia injury显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effective ingredients of Danshen(Radix Salviae Miltiorrhizae) and Honghua(Flos Carthami)(Danhong) on protective properties towards neonatal rat hippocampal neurons under hypoxia condition.METHODS: Primary culture of neonatal rat hippocampal neurons was used to model hypoxia damage on the hippocampus. Methyl thiazolyl tetrazolium(MTT) assay and preliminary experiments were conducted to identify the four effective ingredients of Danhong, along with the injection of positive drug onto hippocampal neurons at a non-toxic dosage level. The cultured cells were randomly divided into 12 groups: the normal group, model group,positive drug control group and nine compatibility groups of the four effective ingredients. Different test methods were applied to determine lactate dehydrogenasein(LDH), total superoxide dismutase(T-SOD), malondialdehyde(MDA), 6-keto prostaglandin F_(la)(6-keto-PGF_(1 a)), thromboxane B_2(TXB_2),mitochondrial membrane potential(MMP), free calcium ions concentration([Ca^(2 +)]i) and early onsetcell apoptosis.RESULTS: Different compatibility groups could inhibit the content of LDH and intracellular calcium overload, increase activity in T-SOD, decrease level of MDA and TXB2, improve level of 6-keto-PGF1 aand MMP, and prevent the early onset cell apoptosis.CONCLUSION: The compatibility of four effective ingredients of Danhong had protective effect toward hippocampi hypoxia. 11Identification and Characterization of Tonoplast Sugar Transporter (TST) Gene Family in Cucumber显示文摘Tonoplast sugar transporters(TSTs)play essential roles in regulating plant growth,development,and response to various biotic and abiotic stresses.In this study,a total of three TST genes were identified by a genome-wide analysis in cucumber.Phylogenetic analysis showed that TST proteins from cucumber and other plant species can be classified into five groups,and nearly all TST members in the same groups displayed similarmotif distributions,transmembrane(TM)domains,and gene structures.All of the three CsTST genes possess a number of development-,stress-,and hormone-related cis-elements in the promoter sequences.Meanwhile,qRT-PCR assays revealed that the CsTST1 was expressed in fruits,flowers,leaves,and other tissues,and its expression varied significantly under various abiotic stresses such as cold,salt,drought(PEG),and abscisic acid(ABA).Finally,functional analysis of CsTST1 in yeast revealed that it was able to complement the deficiency in galactose,mannose and sucrose transport.These results revealed that CsTST1 can act as a functional sugar transporter to play important roles in cucumber growth and response to abiotic stress probably through affecting carbohydrate distribution.Weifeng Huang Bin Hu Jialin Liu Yong Zhou Shiqiang Liu 2020Horticultural Plant Journal2020,6,3:4
12Genomic characterizations of H4 subtype avian influenza viruses from live poultry markets in Sichuan province of China, 2014–2015显示文摘Dear Editor,Avian influenza viruses (AIVs) have posed a serious threat to poultry production and public health. To date, more than fourteen AIV subtypes that are able to infect human beings have been documented. Also, it is suggested that new subtypes may be reported in the future, owing to the migration of wild birds and live poultry transportation (Gao, 2018).Poultry may act as a potential incubator for novel subtypes of avian influenza virus (Bi et al., 2016a; Bi et al., 2016b; Liu et al., 2014a; Su et al., 2017). 13Structural Traps in Detachment Folds:a Case Study from the 'Comband Trough-like' Deformation Zone/s,East Sichuan,China显示文摘Detachment structures occur widely in the crust,and it is the commonest and most important deformation type developed in the region between orogenic belts and basins.The ’comb-like’ and ’toughlike’ fold belts in eastern Sichuan are caused by multi-layer detachment.The duplex structure is the most important deformation style in the region,exhibiting different characteristics from typical detachment structures.Different deformation styles,scales,and shortenings resulting from independent deformations of various detachment systems would lead to the phenomenon whereby most of the topographical heights in the region do not correspond to the structural heights in depth.Based on systematic structural analysis and combined with practical oil/gas prospecting,four types of structural traps are described from eastern Sichuan Province,which are:detachment and thrust trap;detachment folding trap;fault-flat blocking trap;and detachment layer trap.Meticulous studies on the deformation and distribution of detachment layers in the eastern Sichuan Province will contribute to oil/gas prospecting and selection of potential regions of marine-origin oil/gas prospecting in South China.WANG Zongxiu ZHANG Jin LI Tao ZHOU Xingui MA Zongjin TANG Liangjie XIAO Weifeng YAN Xili 2012Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2012,86,4:3
14Energy-efficient recovery of tetrahydrofuran and ethyl acetate by triple-column extractive distillation:entrainer design and process optimization显示文摘An energy-efficient triple-column extractive distillation process is developed for recovering tetrahydrofuran and ethyl acetate from industrial effluent.The process development follows a rigorous hierarchical design procedure that involves entrainer design,thermodynamic analysis,process design and optimization,and heat integration.The computer-aided molecular design method is firstly used to find promising entrainer candidates and the best one is determined via rigorous thermodynamic analysis.Subsequently,the direct and indirect triple-column extractive distillation processes are proposed in the conceptual design step.These two extractive distillation processes are then optimized by employing an improved genetic algorithm.Finally,heat integration is performed to further reduce the process energy consumption.The results indicate that the indirect extractive distillation process with heat integration shows the highest performance in terms of the process economics.Ao Yang Yang Su Tao Shi Jingzheng Ren Weifeng Shen Teng Zhou 2022Frontiers of Chemical Science and Engineering2022,16,2:3
15Pathogen genomic surveillance elucidates the origins, transmission and evolution of emerging viral agents in China显示文摘In the past twenty years, numerous novel zoonotic viral agents with pandemic potential have emerged in China, such as the severe acute respiratory syndrome(SARS) coronavirus and, more recently, the avian-origin influenza A/H7N9 virus, which have caused outbreaks among humans with high morbidity and mortality. In addition, several emerging and re-emerging viral pathogens have also been imported into China from travelers, e.g. the Middle East respiratory syndrome(MERS) coronavirus and Zika virus(ZIKV). Herein, we review these emerging viral pathogens in China and focus on how surveillance by pathogen genomics has been employed to discover and annotate novel pathogenic agents, identify natural reservoirs, monitor the transmission events and delineate their evolution and adaption to the human host. We also highlight the application of genomic sequencing in the recent Ebola epidemics in Western Africa. In summary, genomic sequencing has become a standard research tool in the field of emerging infectious diseases which has been proven invaluable in containing these viral infections and reducing burden of disease in humans and animals. 16Photodynamic therapy accelerates skin wound healing through promoting re-epithelialization显示文摘Background:Epidermal stem cells(EpSCs)that reside in cutaneous hair follicles and the basal layer of the epidermis are indispensable for wound healing and skin homeostasis.Little is known about the effects of photochemical activation on EpSC differentiation,proliferation and migration during wound healing.The present study aimed to determine the effects of photodynamic therapy(PDT)on wound healing in vivo and in vitro.Methods:We created mouse full-thickness skin resection models and applied 5-aminolevulinic acid(ALA)for PDT to the wound beds.Wound healing was analysed by gross evaluation and haematoxylin–eosin staining in vivo.In cultured EpSCs,protein expression was measured using flow cytometry and immunohistochemistry.Cell migration was examined using a scratch model;apoptosis and differentiation were measured using flow cytometry.Results:PDT accelerated wound closure by enhancing EpSC differentiation,proliferation and migration,thereby promoting re-epithelialization and angiogenesis.PDT inhibited inflammatory infiltration and expression of proinflammatory cytokines,whereas the secretion of growth factors was greater than in other groups.The proportion of transient amplifying cells was significantly greater in vivo and in vitro in the PDT groups.EpSC migration was markedly enhanced after ALAinduced PDT.Conclusions:Topical ALA-induced PDT stimulates wound healing by enhancing re-epithelialization,promoting angiogenesis as well as modulating skin homeostasis.This work provides a preliminary theoretical foundation for the clinical administration of topical ALA-induced PDT in skin wound healing.Zengjun Yang Xiaohong Hu Lina Zhou Yaxiong He Xiaorong Zhang Jiacai Yang Zhenyu Ju Yih-Cherng Liou Han-Ming Shen Gaoxing Luo Michael R.Hamblin Weifeng He Rui Yin 2021Burns & Trauma2021,9,1:3
17Investigations on femtosecond laser-induced surface modification and periodic micropatterning with anti-friction properties on Ti6Al4V titanium alloy显示文摘Titanium alloys have a wide application in aerospace industries as it has greater strength and low density, but it has poor tribological properties. To improve its friction and wear performance, in present work, a femtosecond laser is used to directly irradiate the Ti6Al4V titanium alloy surface in air conditioning, which results in localized ablation and the formation of periodic microstructures but also a strong pressure wave, propagating the material inside. Through the optimization of processing parameters, surface modification and periodic micropatterning with effective anti-friction properties were successfully induced on the surface. After a treatment of femtosecond laser-induced surface modification(FsLSM), the surface microhardness was improved by 16.6% and compressive residual stress reached-746 MPa. Besides, laser-induced periodic surface structures(LIPSS) with a titanium oxide outer coating were fabricated uniformly on the titanium alloy surface. Rotary ball-on-disk wear experiments revealed that the average coefficient of friction(COF) and wear mass loss of the specimen with Fs LSM treatment were largely reduced by 68.9% and 90% as compared to that of untreated specimens, respectively. It was analyzed that the reason for the remarkable wear resistance was attributed to the comprehensive action of the generation of LIPSS, the titanium oxide outer coating, high amplitude compressive residual stress and gradient grain size distribution on the subsurface during the laser surface treatment. 18Mixed lymphocyte reaction induced by multiple alloantigens and the role for IL-10 in proliferation inhibition显示文摘The frequency of T cells that can respond to alloantigens is unusually high.It remains unclear how T cells would respond when stimulated by multiple major histocompatibility complex(MHC)disparate alloantigens in the same cultures.In this report,we examined potential interactions of T cell clones that were stimulated simultaneously by two sets of complete MHC disparate alloantigens using mixed lymphocyte reaction(MLR).In this assay,we observed that proliferation of B6 lymphocytes(H-2b)stimulated by both BALB/c(H-2d)and C_(3)H(H-2k)allogeneic cells was not increased but rather reduced as compared to B6 cells stimulated with either BALB/c or C_(3)H allogeneic cells.Interestingly,interleukin(IL)-10 expressions at both protein level and mRNA level was signifi cantly increased in cultures stimulated with the two MHC alloantigens,while IL-2,tumor necrosis factor(TNF)-α,transforming growth factor(TGF)-β1 production did not show any differences.In addition,Foxp_(3) mRNA expression was comparable amongst all groups.In conclusion,we observed an inhibitory effect in T cell proliferation in response to multiple MHC mismatched alloantigens in MLR,and this effect might be associated with the upregulation of IL-10 expression.Junyi Zhou Weifeng He Gaoxing Luo Jun Wu 2014Burns & Trauma2014,2,1:2
19Multi-energy Demand Response Management in Energy Internet: A Stackelberg Game Approach显示文摘A multi-energy Demand response management(DRM) approach in Energy Internet is proposed by employing Stackelberg game theory. The multi-energy trading problem in DRM is formulated as a Stackelberg game, where an energy provider, as a leader, adjusts energy prices, and residential smart energy hubs, as followers, dynamically schedule multiple energy flows according to the prices. The existence and uniqueness of the equilibrium of the proposed game model are analyzed.A multi-energy DRM algorithm for reaching the game equilibrium is developed. 20Dexmedetomidine maintains blood-brain barrier integrity by inhibiting Drp1-related endothelial mitochondrial dysfunction in ischemic stroke显示文摘Stroke is the second leading cause of death and long-term disability worldwide,which lacks effective treatment.Perioperative stroke is associated with much higher rates of mortality and disability.The neuroprotective role of dexmedetomidine(Dex),a highly selective agonist of alpha2-adrenergic receptor,has been reported in a stroke rat model,and it was found that pretreatment of Dex before stroke could alleviate blood–brain barrier(BBB)breakdown.However,the underlying mechanisms are still unknown.As the brain endothelial cells are the main constituents of BBB and in high demand of energy,mitochondrial function of endothelial cells plays an important role in the maintenance of BBB.Given that dynamin-related protein 1(Drp1)is a protein mediating mitochondrial fission,with mitochondrial fusion that balances mitochondrial morphology and ensures mitochondria function,the present study was designed to investigate the possible role of Drp1 in endothelial cells involved in the neuroprotective effects of Dex in ischemic stroke.Our results showed that preconditioning with Dex reduced infarction volume,alleviated brain water content and BBB damage,and improved neurological scores in middle cerebral artery occlusion rats.Meanwhile,Dex enhanced cell activity and decreased cell apoptosis in oxygen-glucose deprivation human brain microvascular endothelial cells in vitro.These protective effects of Dex were correlated with the mitochondrial morphology integrality of endothelial cells,mediated by increased phosphorylation of serine 637 in Drp1,and could be reversed byα2-adrenergic receptor antagonist Yohimbine and AMP-activated protein kinase inhibitor Compound C.These findings suggest new molecular pathways involved in the neuroprotective effects of Dex in ischemic stroke.As Dex is routinely used as a sedative drug clinically,our findings provide molecular evidence that it has perioperative neuroprotection from ischemic stroke.Wei Zhou Yunchun Zhang Yingfu Jiao Wen Yin Haiping Dong Saihong Xu Dan Tang Junli Jiang Jianlin Shao Zhenhong Wang Weifeng Yu 2021Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2021,53,9:2
