| 2 | Impact of 10-60-Day Low-Frequency Steering Flows on Straight Northward-Moving Typhoon Tracks over the Western North Pacific显示文摘This study investigates the impact of low-frequency(intraseasonal and interannual) steering flows on straight northward-moving(defined as a meridional displacement two times greater than the zonal displacement) typhoons over the western North Pacific using observational data. The year-to-year change in the northward-moving tracks is affected by the interannual change in the location and intensity of the subtropical high. A strengthened northward steering flow east of 120°E and a weakened easterly steering flow south of the subtropical high favor more frequent straight northward tracks. Examining each of the individual northward-moving typhoons shows that they interact with three types of intraseasonal(10-60-day) background flows during their northward journey. The first type is the monsoon gyre pattern, in which the northward-moving typhoon is embedded in a closed cyclonic monsoon gyre circulation. The second type is the wave train pattern, where a cyclonic(anticyclonic) vorticity circulation is located to the west(east) of the northward-moving typhoon center. | 3 | Effect of KBr on the micellar properties of CTAB显示文摘The effect of KBr on the size, shape and microviscosity of CTAB micelles has been investigated by means of laser light scattering (LLS), 1H NMR measurements and fluorescence probe. The data obtained from the various techniques are quantitatively in agreement. The Rh of micelles in 0.01 mol ·L-1 CTAB solution increases from 3.5 nm to 43 nm and Rg increases to 89 nm with addition of KBr salt. In this process, both the microviscosity and molecular weight of micelles Mw have noticeable increases, too. | 4 | Monolayer MoS_(2)-based transistors with low contact resistance by inserting ultrathin Al_(2)O_(3)interfacial layer显示文摘Transition metal dichalcogenides(TMDCs)are promising high performance electronic materials due to their interesting semiconductor properties.However,it is acknowledged that the effective electrical contact between TMDCs-layered materials and metals remains one of the major challenges.In this work,the homogeneous monolayer MoS_(2)films with high crystalline quality were prepared by chemical vapor deposition method on SiO2/Si substrates.The back-gate field-effect transistors(FETs)were fabricated by inserting an ultrathin Al_(2)O_(3)interlayer between the metal electrodes and MoS_(2)nanosheets.With the addition of an ultrathin 0.8 nm Al_(2)O_(3)interlayer,the contact resistance decreased dramatically from 59.9 to 1.3 kΩμm and the Schottky barrier height(SBH)dropped from 102 to 27 meV compared with devices without the Al_(2)O_(3)interlayer.At the same time,the switching ratio increased from~106to~108,and both the on-current and field-effect mobility were greatly improved.We find that the ultrathin Al_(2)O_(3)interlayer can not only reduce the SBH to alleviate the Fermi level pinning phenomenon at the interface,but also protect the channel materials from the influence of air and moisture as a covering layer.In addition,the lattice and band structures of Al_(2)O_(3)/MoS_(2)film were calculated and analyzed by first-principles calculation.It is found that the total density of states of the Al_(2)O_(3)/MoS_(2)film exhibits interfacial polarized metals property,which proves the higher carrier transport characteristics.FETs with Al_(2)O_(3)interlayers have excellent stability and repeatability,which can provide effective references for future low power and high performance electronic devices. | CHEN Gang LIN Xin LIU Yuan WANG Fang HU Kai SHAN Xin WU ZeYu ZHANG YuPeng NIE WeiCan ZHONG JiXiang REN TianLing ZHANG KaiLiang | 2023 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2023,66,6: | 2 |
| 5 | Measurement of Rural Inclusive Financial Development and Analysis of Spatial Effects on Anti-poverty显示文摘Based on two dimensions of supply and demand,we use six indicators to establish a rural inclusive financial development index and evaluate the development of China's rural inclusive finance. We use spatial panel data model to examine the relationship between financial inclusion and rural poverty. Results show that:( i) both the rural inclusive finance and rural residents' per capita consumption present spatial clustering feature and show significant spatial correlation;( ii) the development of rural inclusive finance has significant spatial effect on poverty alleviation along time and space dimensions. | 6 | Influences of the Three Gorges Dam in China on Precipitation over Surrounding Regions显示文摘Impacts of the Three Gorges Dam(TGD) in China on the regional pattern and annual amount of precipitation around the Three Gorges Reservoir(TGR) are examined by comparing observations before and after the operation of TGD(1984–2003 and 2004–13). Empirical orthogonal function(EOF) analysis of the annual precipitation anomalies clearly indicates that the land-use change associated with the construction of TGD has not significantly changed the precipitation pattern. To investigate the impacts of TGD on the rainfall amount, we compare the relative variations of atmospheric variables related to precipitation formation in three spatial bands: over TGR, near TGR, and far from TGR. It is found that the differences in annual rainfall over TGD between the two periods before and after the operation of TGD are small, suggesting a weak impact of TGD on the rainfall amount. | 8 | Factors controlling northward and north-eastward moving tropical cyclones near the coast of East Asia显示文摘The impacts of multi-time-scale flows on northward and north-eastward moving tropical cyclones(TCs)near the east coast of China in August and September are investigated using reanalysis data from 1982 to 2012.TCs of interest are under the influence of the subtropical high-pressure system in the western North Pacific(WNP).In August when the subtropical highpressure system is strong and close to the coast line,most TCs in the region move northward,while more TCs move north-eastward in September when the subtropical highpressure system retreats to the east.To investigate the influence from different time-scales,the environmental flow is divided intofour components,the synoptic flow,the intraseasonal flow,the interannual flow and the climatological background field.Analysis of steering flows between 25°N and 30°N indicates that the meridional steering vectors from all time-scales point to the north,dominated by the intraseasonal component.The deciding factor on whether a TC moves to the north or north-east between 25°N and 30°N is the zonal steering vector.For the northward moving group,the sum of the zonal steering from all time-scales is very small.On the other hand,the north-east moving group has a net eastward zonal component mainly contributed by the climatological mean flow.Several individual cases that stood out from the majority of the group are analyzed.For those cases,the intraseasonal flow plays an important role in affecting the movement of the TCs mainly through the wave train,in which a cyclonic circulation is located to the north-west(north)and an anticyclonic circulation to the south-east(east)of TCs.The analysis of the steering vectors indicates the importance of all components with different timescales to the movement of TCs. | Qiao LIU Weican ZHOU Melinda PENG Tim LI | 2019 | Frontiers of Earth Science2019,13,4: | 1 |

| 11 | Purification and characteristics of a low-molecular-weight peptide possessing oxidative capacity for phenol from Phanerochaete chrysosporium显示文摘A new low-molecular-weight peptide with phenol oxidase activity, named Pc factor, was isolated and purified from liquid culture of a white-rot basidiomycete Phanerochaete chrysosporium. Its molecular weight was about 600 Da estimated by gel-filtration. Three amino acids Glu, Gly and Val were detected in hydrolysate. Absorption peaks corresponding to amino acids and peptide were observed by UV and IR spectra analysis. And the signal of Cα of amino acid was also detected by 13C-NMR method. Pc factor had high thermostability and remained active in weakly alkalescent pH range. It could chelate Fe3+ and reduce it to Fe2+, but no hydroxyl radical HO` could be detected during the reaction process. It could oxidize phenolic lignin-model compounds such as 2,6-dimethoxyphenol (2,6-DMP), 2,2(-azinobis (3-ethylbenzathiazoline-6-sulfinic acid) (ABTS) and syringaldazine in the absence of Mn2+ and H2O2. These characteristics differed greatly from those of manganese peroxidases. The oxidative catalysis of Pc factor can be enhanced by certain metal ions such as Cu2+ and Mn2+ etc., and O2 molecule was necessary for this reaction. | 12 | An Improved Bald Eagle Search Algorithm with Cauchy Mutation and Adaptive Weight Factor for Engineering Optimization显示文摘The Bald Eagle Search algorithm(BES)is an emerging meta-heuristic algorithm.The algorithm simulates the hunting behavior of eagles,and obtains an optimal solution through three stages,namely selection stage,search stage and swooping stage.However,BES tends to drop-in local optimization and the maximum value of search space needs to be improved.To fill this research gap,we propose an improved bald eagle algorithm(CABES)that integrates Cauchy mutation and adaptive optimization to improve the performance of BES from local optima.Firstly,CABES introduces the Cauchy mutation strategy to adjust the step size of the selection stage,to select a better search range.Secondly,in the search stage,CABES updates the search position update formula by an adaptive weight factor to further promote the local optimization capability of BES.To verify the performance of CABES,the benchmark function of CEC2017 is used to simulate the algorithm.The findings of the tests are compared to those of the Particle Swarm Optimization algorithm(PSO),Whale Optimization Algorithm(WOA)and Archimedes Algorithm(AOA).The experimental results show that CABES can provide good exploration and development capabilities,and it has strong competitiveness in testing algorithms.Finally,CABES is applied to four constrained engineering problems and a groundwater engineeringmodel,which further verifies the effectiveness and efficiency of CABES in practical engineering problems. | Wenchuan Wang Weican Tian Kwok-wing Chau Yiming Xue Lei Xu Hongfei Zang | 2023 | Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences2023,,8: | 1 |

| 14 | Impacts of Steering Flows with Different Timescales on the Track of Typhoon Sanba(2012)显示文摘Typhoon Sanba(2012),the strongest tropical cyclone(TC)of the year worldwide,moved northward almost along130°longitude during its lifetime and passed through different background flows from low to high latitudes.The steering flows with different timescales for Sanba are retrieved by using the NCEP reanalysis data with the total wind field separated into:a mean state,an interannual component,an intraseasonal component,and a synoptic component.Our analysis indicates that the intraseasonal timescale wave train(WT)with east–west oriented circulations made the largest contribution to the movement of Sanba.The effects of the environmental steering with different timescales on Sanba’s movement are investigated with numerical simulations using the Weather Research and Forecasting(WRF)model.In the control simulation,total fields from the NCEP reanalysis are used as initial and boundary conditions,and the northward motion of Sanba is well captured.In sensitivity experiments,each of the intraseasonal and interannual components is removed one at a time.The steering vectors associated with these timescales can explain their influences on the movement of Sanba in the experiments.Vorticity budget analyses indicate that the horizontal vorticity advection made the largest contribution to the movement of the storm. | Qiao LIU Melinda PENG Weican ZHOU Tim LI | 2021 | Journal of Meteorological Research2021,35,2: | 0 |
| 15 | Thiol-mediated transportation pathway:an approach for improving tumor penetration of nanomedicines in vivo显示文摘Abnormal tumor microenvironment imposes barriers to tumor penetration of nanomedicine,which remains a major challenge for effective anti-tumor.Herein,we present disulfide-based nanoparticles that actively penetrate deep tumors in vivo through a thiol-mediated transportation pathway.To achieve active tumor accumulation in vivo,disulfide-based nanoparticles are modified with folic acid units(FA-DBNPs).It is gratifying that FA-DBNPs still enter cells via the thiol-mediated pathway,which facilitates transcellular transportation and tumor penetration both in vitro and in vivo.Besides,FA-DBNPs exhibit GSH concentration-dependent depolymerization characterization,indicating that the GSH level in tumor tissues regulates the penetration depth of FA-DBNPs.Benefiting from these advantages,FA-DBNPs showed potent anti-tumor activity in mouse models,leading to the significant regression of tumors.The current study lays a foundation that thiol-mediated transportation is a promising approach in nanomedicine design for solid tumor therapy. | Junjie Zhang Weican Sun Xing Wang Senyan Chen Jingying Li Huanghao Yang | 2024 | Science China Chemistry2024,67,1: | 0 |
