| 1 | Biological productivity and carbon cycling in the Arctic Ocean显示文摘Primary production, bacterial production, par-ticulate organic carbon fluxes and organic carbon burial rates were quantified during the summer period of 1999 in the Arctic Ocean via 14C uptake, 3H uptake, 234Th/238U disequilibrium and 210Pbex dating, respectively. The integrated primary production in the water column was as high as 197 mmolC/(m2·d) in the Chukchi shelf and was 3.8 mmolC/(m2·d) in the Canada Basin. These rates are higher than those reported previously. The ratios of bacterial production to primary production in the study region were higher than 0.5, indicating that microbial activity is not depressed but important in cold Arctic waters. 234Th/238U dis-equilibria were evident at the station in the Canada Basin. The presence of significant 234Th deficiency suggested that scavenging and removal processes are also important to bio-geochemical cycles of trace elements in the Arctic Ocean. | 2 | The input/removal rates of size-fractionated ^210Po in the Jiulongjiang estuary and its implications显示文摘The geochemical behaviors of dissolved (<0.4 mm), low molecular weight (<10 kDa) and colloidal (10 kDa- 0.4 mm) 210Po in surface waters from the Jiulongjiang estuary were examined and the input/removal rates of different 210Po species were estimated. Both dissolved and low molecular weight 210Po were considerably removed during estuarine mixing. However, colloidal 210Po was removed only at low salinity regions (S <15) but had input behavior at high salin-ity surface waters (S >15). The input/removal rates of three species indicate that 210Po was removed rapidly in the Jiu-longjiang estuary. The discrepancy of input/removal rates between 210Po species suggests different geochemical be-havior and a dynamic transformation between 210Po species. | 3 | Export and remineralization of POM in the Southern Ocean and the South China Sea estimated from ^(210)Po/^(210)Pb disequilibria显示文摘Disequilibria between 210Po and 210Pb in the upper water and their potential applications as a proxy of particle export and remineralization were examined in the Southern Ocean (station IV3) and the South China Sea (NS44). 210Po was deficit in surface waters but excessive relative to 210Pb in subsurface waters. Good positive correlation between 210Po and particulate organic carbon (POC) indicated deficits and excess of 210Po resulted from particulate organic matter (POM) export and remineralization respectively, which was also supported by the decreased δ 13C and increased δ 15N downwards as a result of particle remineralization. On the basis of 210Po/210Pb box-model, POC export flux out of the surface waters were 1.2 mmol C·m-2·d-1 and 2.3 mmol C·m-2·d-1 for station NS44 and IV3, respectively. In the subsurface waters, remineralization fluxes of 210Po were 0.062 Bq·m-2·d-1 and 0.566 Bq·m-2·d-1 for station NS44 and IV3 along with the recycle efficiency of 52±26% and 119±52%, respectively. Remineralized fluxes of POM derived from 210Po and exported POC were 0.6 mmol C·m-2·d-1 and 2.7 mmol C·m-2·d-1 for NS44 and IV3. | 4 | Disequilibria between ^(210)Po and ^(210)Pb in surface waters of the southern South China Sea and their implications显示文摘Activities of the naturally occurring radionuclides, 210Pb and 210Po, were measured in both dissolved (<0.45 μm) and particulate (>0.45 μm) phases from surface waters of the southern South China Sea. The average activity of particulate 210Pb, 0.23 Bq/m3 (n=23), accounted for about 12% of the total 210Pb, which corresponds with values of open oceans. Particulate 210Po, with an av-erage activity of 0.43 Bq/m3, accounted for about 40% of the total 210Po, which was much higher than those of open and eutrophic oceans. The residence times of total 210Po and 210Pb in surface waters estimated from an irreversible steady-state model were 0.82 a and 1.16 a, respectively. The consis-tently high fractionation factor calculated either by scavenging rate constants (5.42) or Kd values (6.69) suggested that a significant fractionation occurred between 210Po and 210Pb during their removal from solution to particles and that the two radionuclides had different biogeochemical cycling pathways in the oligotrophic South China Sea. Furthermore, our results indicated that there exist different frac-tionation mechanisms between 210Po and 210Pb in different marine environments: in eutrophic ocean, plankton detritus and fecal pellets are the main carrier of 210Po and 210Pb, by which 210Po and 210Pb have been scavenged and removed; while in oligotrophic ocean, microbes could become the main carrier of 210Po and fractionate 210Po and 210Pb significantly as a result of scarce plankton detritus and fecal pellets. | 5 | Development of 1D and 2D coupled model to simulate urban inundation:An application to Beijing Olympic Village显示文摘Urban inundation due to anomalous storms is a serious problem for many cities worldwide. Therefore, it is important to accurately simulate urban hydrological processes and efficiently predict the potential risks of urban floods for the improvement of drainage designs and implementation of emergency ac-tions. However, the complexity of urban landforms and the diversity of hydraulic infrastructure pose particular challenges for the simulation and risk assessment of urban drainage processes. This study developed a methodology to comprehensively simulate inundation processes by dynamically coupling 1D and 2D hydrodynamic models. By allowing the simultaneous solution of the processes of rainfall and runoff, urban drainage, and flooding, this method can be used to estimate the potential inundation risks of any designed drainage system. Furthermore, a Geographical Information System (GIS) based platform was fully integrated with the model engine to effectively illustrate the context of the problem. The developed model was then demonstrated on the Beijing 2008 Olympic Village under the conditions of the 5-year and 50-year design storms. The sewer discharge, channel discharge, and flood propaga-tion (inundation initiation, extent, depths, and duration) were numerically validated and analyzed. The results identified the potential inundation risks. From the study, it is found that the coupled GIS and 1D and 2D hydrodynamic models have the potential to simulate urban inundation processes, and hence efficiently predict flood risks and support cost-effective drainage design and management. | 6 | Preparation of lignin/TiO2 nanocomposites and their application in aqueous polyurethane coatings显示文摘A simple method using a water soluble lignin quaternary ammonium salt (LQAS) and TiO2 has been developed for the preparation of lignin/TiO2 nanocomposites in an aqueous medium under mild conditions. The LQAS/TiO2 nanocomposites contain well-dispersed small particles with excellent ultraviolet (UV) shielding abilities and good compatibilities with waterborne polyurethane (WPU). When the LQAS/TiO2 nanocomposites were blended with WPU, the UV absorbance and the tensile ductility of the WPU increased significantly. The composite WPU hybrid film containing 6 wt-% LQAS/TiO2 nanocomposite had the highest visible light transmittance and had excellent ultraviolet aging properties. After 192 h of UV light irradiation, the tensile strength of the composite film was above 8 MPa and the elongation at break was 800%. | 9 | Influence of particle composition on thorium scavenging in the marginal China seas显示文摘Thorium-234 and particle composition (organic matter, biogenic silica, carbonate and lithogenic component) were examined in the East China Sea (ECS) and the northern South China Sea (NSCS) in order to constrain the particle types scavenging thorium isotopes. Good positive correlations be-tween particulate organic matter (POM) or carbonate and thorium-234 in suspended particulate matter (SPM) indicates that POM and carbonate are efficient to scavenge thorium-234. No relation-ship between biogenic silica and thorium-234 suggests that geochemical behavior of thorium-234 may be not influenced by biogenic silica. A simple model was used to evaluate the affinity of thorium-234 to different particle components. The results show that POM is the most efficient scavenger for thorium-234 in the ECS and the NSCS, followed by carbonate. The authors’ re-sults lend support to the utility of thorium-234 as a proxy of POC and carbonate in the upper layer. | 11 | Accumulation of freshwater in the permanent ice zone of the Canada Basin during summer 2008显示文摘A combination of δ^(18)O and salinity data was employed to explore the freshwater balance in the Canada Basin in summer 2008.The Arctic river water and Pacific river water were quantitatively distinguished by using different saline end-members.The fractions of total river water,including the Arctic and Pacific river water,were high in the upper 50 m and decreased with depth as well as increasing latitude.In contrast,the fraction of Pacific river water increased gradually with depth but decreased toward north.The inventory of total river water in the Canada Basin was higher than other arctic seas,indicating that Canada Basin was a main storage region for river water in the Arctic Ocean.The fraction of Arctic river water was higher than Pacific river water in the upper 50 m while the opposite was true below 50 m.As a result,the inventories of Pacific river water were higher than those of Arctic river water,demonstrating that the Pacific inflow through the Bering Strait is the main source of freshwater in the Canada Basin.Both the river water and sea-ice melted water in the permanent ice zone were more abundant than those in the region with sea-ice just melted.The fractions of total river water,Arctic river water,Pacific river water increased northward to the north of 82°N,indicating an additional source of river water in the permanent ice zone of the northern Canada Basin.A possible reason for the extra river water in the permanent ice zone is the lateral advection of shelf waters by the Trans-Polar Drift.The penetration depth of sea-ice melted waters was less than 30 m in the southern Canada Basin,while it extended to 125 m in the northern Canada Basin.The inventory of seaice melted water suggested that sea-ice melted waters were also accumulated in the permanent ice zone,attributing to the trap of earlier melted waters in the permanent ice zone via the Beaufort Gyre. | TONG Jinlu CHEN Min1 YANG Weifeng ZHANG Run PAN Hong ZHENG Minfang QIU Yusheng HU Wangjiang ZENG Jian | 2017 | Acta Oceanologica Sinica2017,36,8: | 1 |
| 12 | Distribution patterns of 210Po, 210Pb and the particle export in the Taiwan Strait during the winter显示文摘210Po and 210Pb are increasingly used to constrain particle dynamics in the open oceans,however they are less used in coastal waters.Here,distributions and partitions of 210Po and 210Pb were examined in the Taiwan Strait,as well as their application to quantify particle sinking.Activity concentrations of dissolved 210Po and 210Pb(<0.6μm)ranged from 1.21 to 7.63 dpm/(100 L)and from 1.07 to 6.33 dpm/(100 L),respectively.Activity concentrations of particulate 210Po and 210Pb varied from 1.96 to 36.74 dpm/(100 L)and from 3.11 to 38.06 dpm/(100 L).Overall,particulate 210Po and 210Pb accounted for the majority of the bulk 210Po and 210Pb.210Po either in dissolved or particulate phases showed similar spatial patterns to 210Pb,indicating similar mechanisms for controlling the distributions of 210Po and 210Pb in the Taiwan Strait.The different fractionation coefficients indicated that particles in the Zhemin Coastal Current(ZCC)inclined to absorb 210Po prior to 210Pb while they showed an opposite effect in the Taiwan Warm Current(TWC).Based on the disequilibria between 210Po and 210Pb,the sinking fluxes of total particulate matter(TPM)were estimated to range from–0.22 to 3.84 g/(m2·d),showing an overall comparable spatial distribution to previous reported sediment accumulation rates.However,our sinking fluxes were lower than the sedimentation rates,indicating a sediment resuspension in winter and horizontal transport of particulate matter from the Taiwan Strait to the East China Sea. | Lihao Zhang Weifeng Yang Min Chen Yinian Zhu Zhou Wang Ziming Fang Yusheng Qiu Yanhong | 2020 | Acta Oceanologica Sinica2020,39,2: | 1 |

| 16 | Size-fractionated uranium isotopes in surface waters in the Jiulong Estuary in China显示文摘Surface water was collected from the Jiulong Estuary for determination of activity concentrations of uranium isotopes in different size fractions,namely,greater than 53,10~53,2~10,0.4~2 μm,10 000 u^0.4 μm and less than 10 000 u fractions by microfiltration and cross-flow ultrafiltration technologies. Results indicated that most of the dissolved uranium (<0.4 μm) existed in the low molecular mass fraction (<10 000 u),and the colloidal uranium-238 (10 000 u^0.4 μm) only contributed less than 1% of the dissolved uranium-238. The fractions of colloidal uranium in the dissolved phases decreased with the increasing salinity. A positive linear relationship between uranium-238 activities and salinities was observed for the dissolved,colloidal and low molecular mass fractions,indicating a conservative behavior of uranium in the Jiulong Estuary. In the particulate phases (>0.4 μm),the partitioning of uranium isotopes among different size fractions was controlled by the partitioning of particle concentrations. In the regions with salinities below 20,the partitioning of uranium-238 among different size fractions was as follows: 10~53 μm>2~10 μm>0.4~2 μm greater than above 53 μm. However,the order at the offshore station with salinities above 30 changed as follows: 0.4~2 μm>10~53 μm>2~10 μm greater than above 53 μm. The fraction of the 0.4~2 μm particles increased at the offshore station,suggesting the increased contribution of the authigenic uranium. The activity ratio of uranium-234 to uranium-238 in the dissolved phases,including the low molecular mass fraction and the colloidal fraction,was larger than unity,showing the occurrence of excess uranium-234. In contrast,the activity ratio of uranium-234 to uranium-238 in all size fractions of the particulate phase was close to the equilibrium value (1.0). The observed different values of the activity ratio of uranium-234 to uranium-238 in the dissolved phase and the particulate phase were ascribed to the preferential leaching of uranium-234 and the small amount of the leaching particulate uranium. The mass ratio of thorium-232 to uranium-238 also showed different values between the dissolved phase and the particulate phase. | 17 | Construction of interfacial dynamic bonds for high performance lignin/polymer biocomposites显示文摘Lignin is the largest natural aromatic biopolymer,but usually treated as industrial biomass waste.The development of lignin/polymer biocomposites can promote the high value utilization of lignin and the greening of polymers.However,the weak interfacial interaction between industrial lignin and polymer induces poor compatibility and serious agglomeration in polymer owing to the strong intermolecular force of lignin.As such,it is extremely difficult to prepare high performance lignin/polymer biocomposites.Recently,we proposed the strategy of in situ construction of interfacial dynamic bonds in lignin/polymer composites.By taking advantage of the abundant oxygen-containing polar groups of lignin,we inserted dynamic bonding connection such as hydrogen bonds and coordination bonds into the interphase between lignin and the polymer matrix to improve the interfacial interactions.Meanwhile,the natural amphiphilic structure characteristics of lignin were utilized to construct the hierarchical nanophase separation structure in lignin/polymer composites.The persistent problems of poor dispersity and interfacial compatibility of lignin in the polymer matrix were effectively solved.The lignin-modified polymer composites achieved simultaneously enhanced strength and toughness.This concise review systematically summarized the recent research progress of our group toward building high-performance lignin/polymer biocomposites through the design of interfacial dynamic bonds(hydrogen bonds,coordination bonds,and dynamic covalent bonds)between lignin and different polymer systems(polar plastics,rubber,polyurethane,hydrogels,and other polymers).Finally,the future development direction,main challenges,and potential solutions of lignin application in polymers were presented. | Jianbin Mo Haixu Wang Mengzhen Yan Jianhua Huang Rui Li Danting Sun Junjie Lei Xueqing Qiu Weifeng Liu | 2023 | Frontiers of Chemical Science and Engineering2023,17,10: | 0 |

| 19 | N-doped MoS_(2) via assembly transfer on an elastomeric substrate for high-photoresponsivity,air-stable and stretchable photodetector显示文摘As a direct-bandgap semiconductor,single-layer MoS_(2) has gained great attention in optoelectronics,especially wearable photodetectors.However,MoS_(2) exhibits poor photoresponsivity on a stretchable substrate due to intrinsic low carrier density and a large number of scattering centers on polymer substrates.Few air-stable yet strong dopants on MoS_(2) has been reported.In addition,the roughness,hydrophobicity and susceptibility to organic solvents of polymer surface are critical roadblocks in the development of stretchable high-performance MoS_(2) photodetectors.Here,we realize a stretchable and stable photodetector with high photoresponsivity by combining n-type dopant((4-(1,3-dimethyl-2,3-dihydro-1H-benzoimidazol-2-yl)phenyl)dimethylamine,N-DMBI)with MoS_(2) and assembly transfer technique.It is found electron tends to transfer from N-DMBI to MoS_(2) and the effect is maintained after the integrable photodetector transferred directly by elastic substrate styrene-ethylene-butylene-styrene(SEBS),even after being exposed to the air for 20 days,which benifits greatly from the encapsulation of SEBS.The increased carrier density greatly promotes carrier injection efficiency and photogenerated electron–hole separation efficiency at the metal–semiconductor interface,thus offering a significantly improved photoresponsivity in MoS_(2) photodetectors.Moreover,such photodetector shows great durability to stretch,which can remain functional after stretched 100 cycles within its stretch limit.Our strategy opens a new avenue to fabricate high-photoresponsivity stretchable electronics or optoelectronics of two-dimensional(2D)materials. | Shuyan Qi Weifeng Zhang Xiaoli Wang Yifan Ding Yan Zhang Jiakang Qiu Ting Lei Run Long Nan Liu | 2022 | Nano Research2022,15,11: | 0 |
| 20 | Topological structures of transition metal dichalcogenides: A review on fabrication, effects, applications, and potential显示文摘Transition metal dichalcogenides(TMDs)have received tremendous attention owing to their potential for optoelectronic applications.Topological structures,such as wrinkles,folds,and scrolls,have been generated on TMDs,thereby exhibiting novel physical properties with improved optoelectronic performance,making them attractive prospects for both basic understanding and advanced applications in optoelectronics.In this review,the methods for fabricating wrinkles,folds,and scrolls on TMDs are outlined,including modification of the fabrication and transfer processes,and manipulation via auxiliary polymers.The effects on their physical and electronic properties are also discussed,with particular paid to the energy band structure,single-photon sources,second harmonic generation(SHG),and interlayer coupling.In comparison to pristine TMDs,these topologies exhibit great advantages in optoelectronic devices,such as field-effect transistors and photodetectors.Finally,existing challenges and opportunities of wrinkled,folded,and scrolled TMDs are outlined and an outlook is presented. | Weifeng Zhang Yan Zhang Jiakang Qiu Zihan Zhao Nan Liu | 2021 | InfoMat2021,3,2: | 0 |
