1Risk analysis for clustered check dams due to heavy rainfall显示文摘Check dams are commonly constructed around the world for alleviating soil erosion and preventing sedimentation of downstream rivers and reservoirs.Check dams are more vulnerable to failure due to their less stringent flood control standards compared to other dams.Determining the critical precipitation that will result in overtopping of a dam is a useful approach to assessing the risk of failure on a probabilistic basis and for providing early warning in case of an emergency.However,many check dams are built in groups,spreading in several tributaries in cascade forms,comprising a complex network.Determining the critical precipitation for dam overtopping requires a knowledge of its upstream dams on whether they survived or were overtopped during the same storm,while these upstream dams in turn need the information for their upstream dams.The current paper presents an approach of decomposing the dam cluster into(1)the heading dam,(2)border dams,and(3)intermediate dams.The algorithm begins with the border dams that have no upstream dams and proceeds with upgraded maps without the previous border dams until all the dams have been checked.It is believed that this approach is applicable for small-scale check dam systems where the time lag of flood routing can be neglected.As a pilot study,the current paper presents the analytical results for the Wangmaogou Check Dam System that has 22 dams connected in series and parallel.The algorithm clearly identified 7 surviving dams,with the remaining ones being overtopped for a storm of 179.6 mm in 12 h,which is associated with a return period of one in 200 years.Zuyu Chen Xieping Huang Shu Yu Wei Cao Weiqin Dang Yangqiang Wang 2021International Journal of Sediment Research2021,36,2:9

3A rapid and accurate direct measurement method of underground coal seam gas content based on dynamic diffusion theory显示文摘Coal seam gas content is frequently measured in quantity during underground coal mining operation and coalbed methane(CBM)exploration as a significant basic parameter.Due to the calculation error of lost gas and residual gas in the direct method,the efficiency and accuracy of the current methods are not inadequate to the large area multi-point measurement of coal seam gas content.This paper firstly deduces a simplified theoretical dynamic model for calculating lost gas based on gas dynamic diffusion theory.Secondly,the effects of various factors on gas dynamic diffusion from coal particle are experimentally studied.And sampling procedure of representative coal particle is improved.Thirdly,a new estimation method of residual gas content based on excess adsorption and competitive adsorption theory is proposed.The results showed that the maximum error of calculating the losing gas content by using the new simplified model is only 4%.Considering the influence of particle size on gas diffusion law,the particle size of the collected coal sample is below 0.25 mm,which improves the measurement speed and reflects the safety representativeness of the sample.The determination time of gas content reduced from 36 to 3 h/piece.Moreover,the absolute error is 0.15–0.50 m^3/t,and the relative error is within 5%.A new engineering method for determining the coal seam gas content is developed according to the above research.Yanwei Liu Yang Du Zhiqiang Li Fajun Zhao Weiqin Zuo Jianping Wei Hani Mitri 2020International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2020,30,6:6
4Influence of carbon on the giant magnetocaloric effect of LaFe_11.7Si_1.3显示文摘The influences of carbon on phase formation, Curie temperature, and magnetic entropy change of the NaZn13-type LaFe11.7Si1.3 were investigated. Seven carbon-containing alloys, LaFe11.7Si1.3Cx with x = 0, 0.03, 0.06, 0.10, 0.20, 0.30, and 0.50, respectively, were prepared for this investigation. Experimental results show that addition of a small amount of carbon in LaFe11.7Si1.3 is favorable for the formation of the NaZn13-type structure of LaFe11.7Si1.3Cx. The lattice constant increases with C addition and x increases in the alloy because of the introduction of C as interstitial atoms. The Cu- rie temperature of LaFe11.7Si1.3Cx increases from 194 K to 225 K as x increases from 0 to 0.5. Large magnetic entropy changes were observed in these carbon-containing alloys LaFe11.7Si1.3Cx because of their first-order structural/magnetic transition. The maximum magnetic entropy change of 27.5 J?kg?1?K?1 at 202 K for the 0-1.56 T magnetic field change was observed in the alloy with x = 0.06. 5Cell cycle-related kinase reprograms the liver immune microenvironment to promote cancer metastasis显示文摘The liver is an immunologically tolerant organ and a common metastatic site of multiple cancer types.Although a role for cancer cell invasion programs has been well characterized,whether and how liver-intrinsic factors drive metastatic spread is incompletely understood.Here,we show that aberrantly activated hepatocyte-intrinsic cell cycle-related kinase(CCRK)signaling in chronic liver diseases is critical for cancer metastasis by reprogramming an immunosuppressive microenvironment.Using an inducible liverspecific transgenic model,we found that CCRK overexpression dramatically increased both B16F10 melanoma and MC38 colorectal cancer(CRC)metastasis to the liver,which was highly infiltrated by polymorphonuclear-myeloid-derived suppressor cells(PMNMDSCs)and lacking natural killer T(NKT)cells.Depletion of PMN-MDSCs in CCRK transgenic mice restored NKT cell levels and their interferon gamma production and reduced liver metastasis to 2.7% and 0.7%(metastatic tumor weights)in the melanoma and CRC models,respectively.Mechanistically,CCRK activated nuclear factor-kappa B(NF-κB)signaling to increase the PMN-MDSC trafficking chemokine C-X-C motif ligand 1(CXCL1),which was positively correlated with liver-infiltrating PMN-MDSC levels in CCRK transgenic mice.Accordingly,CRC liver metastasis patients exhibited hyperaaivation of hepatic CCRK/NF-κB/CXCL1 signaling,which was associated with accumulation of PMN-MDSCs and paucity of NKT cells compared to healthy liver transplantation donors.In summary,this study demonstrates that immunosuppressive reprogramming by hepatic CCRK signaling undermines antimetastatic immunosurveillance.Our findings offer new mechanistic insights and therapeutic targets for liver metastasis intervention.Xuezhen Zeng Jingying Zhou Zhewen Xiong Hanyong Sun Weiqin Yang Myth T.S.Mok Jing Wang Jingqing Li Man Liu Wenshu Tang Yu Feng Hector Kwong-Sang W ang Shun-Wa Tsang King-Lau Chow Philip Chun Yeung John Wong Paul Bo-San Lai Anthony Wing-Hung Chan Ka Fai To Stephen Lam Chan Qiang Xia Jing Xue Xiao Chen Jun Yu Sui Peng Joseph Jao-Yiu Sung Ming Kuang Alfred Sze-Lok Cheng 2021Cellular & Molecular Immunology2021,18,4:5
6Correlation of Leaf and Root Senescence During Ripening in Dry Seeded and Transplanted Rice显示文摘Dry seeding is a resource-saving rice establishment method. With an equivalent yield, dry seeded flooded rice(DSR) has been considered as a replacement for traditional transplanted flooded rice(TFR). However, the differences in leaf and root senescence during grain filling between DSR and TFR were seldom identified. In this study, the root length, root tip number and leaf senescence of rice varieties Huanghuazhan and Yangliangyou 6 during ripening were compared between DSR and TFR. Results showed that top three leaves in DSR had the characteristics of relatively lower SPAD value, lower N content and premature leaf senescence. In addition, both the total root length and total root tip number of DSR were significantly lower than those of TFR. In conclusion, premature and quick leaf senescence was related with inadequate root length and root tip number during ripening, which might result from the deficiency of nitrogen supply in DSR. 7Effect of Support on Catalytic Performance of Photothermal Fischer-Tropsch Synthesis to Produce Lower Olefins over FesC2-based Catalysts显示文摘Photothermal Fischer-Tropsch synthesis(FTS)has been extensively studied,but few reports were focused on systematically exploring the influence of support on catalytic performance.Herein,a series of Fe5C2-based catalysts with different supports was fabricated via a one-step wet-chemical method for photothermal conversion of syngas to lower olefins.Under light irradiation,the optimized FesC2/a-Al2O3 catalyst demonstrated remarkable photothermal FTS activity,delivering selectivity to lower olefins of 50.3%with a CO conversion rate of 52.5%.Characterization studies using X-ray diffraction and Mossbauer spectroscopy analysis revealed that the active catalyst mainly contained FesC2 nanoparticles on a-AbO3 support.It was found that the weak interaction between active phase and a-AhO3 could promote the formation of FesC2,which contributed to the high selectivity to lower olefins.LI Yuan LI Ruizhe LI Zhenhua WEI Weiqin OUYANG Shuxin YUAN Hong ZHANG Tierui 2020Chemical Research in Chinese Universities2020,36,6:3

10Effect of Cold Plasma Treatment on the Mechanical Properties of RTM Composites显示文摘Cold plasma technology was used to treat the surface of carbon fibers braided by PET in this paper and SEM wasused to analyze the fracture microstructure of composite interlaminar shear stress (ILSS). 12Structural basis of heparan sulfate-specific degradation by heparinase Ⅲ显示文摘Heparinase Ⅲ(HepⅢ)is a 73-kDa polysaccharide lyase(PL)that degrades the heparan sulfate(HS)polysaccharides at sulfate-rare regions,which are important co-factors for a vast array of functional distinct proteins including the well-characterized antithrombin and the FGF/FGFR signal transduction system.It functions in cleaving metazoan heparan sulfate(HS)and providing carbon,nitrogen and sulfate sources for host microorganisms.It has long been used to deduce the structure of HS and heparin motifs;however,the structure of its own is unknown.Here we report the crystal structure of the HepⅢ from Bacteroides thetaiotaomicron at a resolution of 1.6Å.The overall architecture of HepⅢ belongs to the(α/α)5 toroid subclass with an N-terminal toroid-like domain and a C-terminal β-sandwich domain.Analysis of this high-resolution structure allows us to identify a potential HS substrate binding site in a tunnel between the two domains.A tetrasaccharide substrate bound model suggests an elimination mechanism in the HS degradation.Asn260 and His464 neutralize the carboxylic group,whereas Tyr314 serves both as a general base in C-5 proton abstraction,and a general acid in a proton donation to reconstitute the terminal hydroxyl group,respectively.The structure of HepⅢ and the proposed reaction model provide a molecular basis for its potential practical utilization and the mechanism of its eliminative degradation for HS polysaccarides.Wei Dong Weiqin Lu Wallace L.McKeehan Yongde Luo Sheng Ye 2012Protein & Cell2012,3,12:2
