1Crustal structure of the northwestern sub-basin, South China Sea: Results from a wide-angle seismic experiment显示文摘The crustal structure of the northwestern sub-basin area of the South China Sea was modeled by inverting a wide-angle seismic survey line across the entire region and on both sides of its bounding continental margins. The survey line extended over 484 km. A total of 14 Ocean Bottom Seismometers (OBS) were deployed at intervals of 30 km to record air-gun array sources with a combined volume of 5160 in 3 . The crustal velocity structure of the northwestern sub-basin area was acquired through the integration of multi-channel seismic data. OBS data were processed and modeled initially using ray tracing inversion techniques. Results indicate that crustal thickness under the continental slope decreases from 21 to 11 km, crustal thickness of the northwestern sub-basin is 7.7 km, and the depth to the Moho ascends from 21 km under the upper continental slope to 11 km under the middle basin. The crust of the northwestern sub-basin is similar to that of the eastern sub-basin in its oceanic crustal structure. This structure has a thicker layer 1 (sedimentary layer) and a thinner layer 2. These characteristics are especially clear in the eastern sub-basin, which differs somewhat from typical oceanic crust. The tectonic geometry and velocity structure of the northwestern sub-basin and its margins comprise a symmetrical conjugate and indicate a pure shear mode with regard to the continental margin rifting mechanism. We did not find clear seismic signals from high velocity layers under the lower crust of the continental margin in the northern part of the northwestern sub-basin, which provides new evidence for the idea that the western part of the northern continental margin of the South China Sea constitutes nonvolcanic crust. 2Laparoscopic versus open pancreaticoduodenectomy for pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma:a propensity score matching analysis显示文摘Background:A growing body of evidence supports the use of laparoscopic pancreaticoduodenectomy(LPD)as an efficient and feasible surgical technique.However,few studies have investigated its applicability in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma(PDAC),and the long-term efficacy of LPD on PDAC remains unclear.This study aimed to compare the short-and long-term outcomes between LPD and open pancreaticoduodenectomy(OPD)for PDAC.Methods:The data of patients who had OPD or LPD for PDAC between January 2013 and September 2017 were retrieved.Their postoperative outcomes and survival were compared after propensity score matching.Results:A total of 309 patients were included.After a 2:1 matching,93 cases in the OPD group and 55 in the LPD group were identified.Delayed gastric emptying(DGE),particularly grade B/C DGE,occurred less frequently in the LPD group than in the OPD group(1.8%vs.36.6%,P<0.001;1.8%vs.22.6%,P=0.001).The overall complication rates were significantly lower in the LPD group than in the OPD group(49.1%vs.71.0%,P=0.008),whereas the rates of major complications were similar(10.9%vs.14.0%,P=0.590).In addition,the median overall survival was comparable between the two groups(20.0 vs.18.7 months,P=0.293).Conclusion:LPD was found to be technically feasible with efficacy similar to OPD for patients with PDAC.Wentao Zhou Weiwei Jin Dansong Wang Chao Lu Xuefeng Xu Renchao Zhang Tiantao Kuang Yucheng Zhou Wenchuan Wu Dayong Jin Yiping Mou Wenhui Lou 2019Cancer Communications2019,39,1:14
3Emission of intermediate volatility organic compounds from a ship main engine burning heavy fuel oil显示文摘Intermediate volatility organic compounds(IVOCs)are crucial precursors of secondary organic aerosol(SOA).In this study,gaseous IVOCs emitted from a ship main engine burning heavy fuel oil(HFO)were investigated on a test bench,which could simulate the real-world operations and emissions of ocean-going ships.The chemical compositions,emission factors(EFs)and volatility distributions of IVOC emissions were investigated.The results showed that the main engine burning HFO emitted a large amount of IVOCs,with average IVOC EFs of 20.2-201 mg/kg-fuel.The IVOCs were mainly comprised of unspeciated compounds.The chemical compositions of exhaust IVOCs were different from that of HFO fuel,especially for polycyclic aromatic compounds and alkylcyclohexanes.The volatility distributions of IVOCs were also different between HFO exhausts and HFO fuel.The distinctions in IVOC emission characteristics between HFO exhausts and HFO fuel should be considered when assessing the IVOC emission and related SOA formation potentials from ocean-going ships burning HFO,especially when using fuel-surrogate models.Haijun Lou Yuejiao Hao Weiwei Zhang Penghao Su Fan Zhang Yingjun Chen Daolun Feng Yifan Li 2019Journal of Environmental Sciences2019,31,10:5

10Quantitative Evaluation of Aldo-keto Reductase Expression in Hepatocellular Carcinoma (HCC) Cell Lines显示文摘The involvement of aldo-keto reductases(AKRs) in tumorigenesis is widely reported,but their roles in the pathological process are not generally recognized due to inconsistent measurements of their expression.To overcome this problem,we simultaneously employed real-time PCR to examine gene expression and multiple reaction monitoring(MRM) of mass spectrometry(MS) to examine the protein expression of AKRs in fve different hepatic cell lines.These include one relatively normal hepatic cell line,L-02,and four hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) cell lines,HepG2,HuH7,BEL7402 and SMMC7721.The results of real-time PCR showed that expression of genes encoding the AKR1C family members rather than AKR1A and AKR1B was associated with tumor,and most of genes encoding AKRs were highly expressed in HuH7.Similar observations were obtained through MRM.Different from HuH7,the protein abundance of AKR1A and AKR1B was relatively consistent among the other four hepatic cell lines,while protein expression of AKR1C varied signifcantly compared to L-02.Therefore,we conclude that the abundant distribution of AKR1C proteins is likely to be associated with liver tumorigenesis,and the AKR expression status in HuH7 is completely different from other liver cancer cell lines.This study,for the frst time,provided both overall and quantitative information regarding the expression of AKRs at both mRNA and protein levels in hepatic cell lines.Our observations put the previous use of AKRs as a biomarker into question since it is only consistent with our data from HuH7.Furthermore,the data presented herein demonstrated that quantitative evaluation and comparisons within a protein family at both mRNA and protein levels were feasible using current techniques.Lei Yang Ju Zhang Shenyan Zhang Weiwei Dong Xiaomin Lou Siqi Liu 2013Genomics, Proteomics & Bioinformatics2013,11,4:0
11Breeding design in wheat by combining the QTL information in a GWAS panel with a general genetic map and computer simulation显示文摘A large amount of genome-wide association study(GWAS)panels together with quantitative-trait locus(QTL)information associated with breeding-targeted traits have been described in wheat(Triticum aestivum L.).However,the application of mapping results from a GWAS panel to conventional wheat breeding remains a challenge.In this study,we first report a general genetic map which was constructed from 44 published linkage maps.It permits the estimation of genetic distances between any two genetic loci with physical map positions,thereby unifying the linkage relationships between QTL,genes,and genomic markers from multiple genetic populations.Second,we describe QTL mapping in a wheat GWAS panel of 688 accessions,identifying 77 QTL associated with 12 yield and grain-quality traits.Because these QTL have known physical map positions,they could be mapped onto the general map.Finally,we present a design approach to wheat breeding by using known QTL information and computer simulation.Potential crosses between parents in the GWAS panel may be evaluated by the relative frequency of the target genotype,trait correlations in simulated progeny populations,and genetic gain of selected progenies.It is possible to simultaneously improve yield and grain quality by suitable parental selection,progeny population size,and progeny selection scheme.Applying the design approach will allow identifying the most promising crosses and selection schemes in advance of the field experiment,increasing predictability and efficiency in wheat breeding.Xiaobo Wang Weiwei Mao Yongfa Wang Hongyao Lou Panfeng Guan Yongming Chen Huiru Peng Jiankang Wang 2023The Crop Journal2023,11,6:0
12Vulnerability Assessment of Distributed Load Shedding Algorithm for Active Distribution Power System Under Denial of Service Attack显示文摘In order to deal with frequency deviation andsupply-demand imbalance in active distribution power system, inthis paper a distributed under frequency load shedding (UFLS)strategy is proposed. Different from conventional centralizedUFLS schemes, no centralized master station gathering all thebuses’ information is required. Instead, each bus decides itsown load shedding amount by only relying on limited peer-topeer communication. However, such UFLS strategy may sufferfrom some unexpected cyber-attacks such as integrity attacksand denial of service (DoS) attack. The latter DoS attack aimsto degrade the system performance by jamming or breakingthe communication, which is of high probability to happen inpractical power system. To assess the vulnerability of proposeddistributed UFLS algorithm, the effect of DoS attack on distributed average consensus algorithm is theoretically derived,which indicates that the final consensus value can be estimatedby a given attack probability. It is also investigated that such DoSattack does harm to the load shedding amount and finally affectsthe system frequency performance in the active distributionpower system. 13Microbiologically Influenced Corrosion Behavior of Fe_(40)(CoCrMnNi)_(60) and Fe_(60)(CoCrMnNi)_(40) Medium Entropy Alloys in the Presence of Pseudomonas Aeruginosa显示文摘In this work,the microbiologically influenced corrosion(MIC)of Fe_(40)(CoCrMnNi)_(60) and Fe_(60)(CoCrMnNi)_(40) medium entropy alloys(MEAs)induced by Pseudomonas aeruginosa(P.aeruginosa)was investigated.Corrosion behaviors during 14 days of immersion in sterile and P.aeruginosa-inoculated culture media are presented.Under sterile conditions,both MEAs exhibited good corrosion resistance against the culture medium solution.In the presence of P.aeruginosa,the pitting corrosion of MEAs was promoted.The results of inductively coupled plasma‒mass spectrometry(ICP‒MS)and potentiodynamic polarization tests showed that the presence of P.aeruginosa promoted the selective dissolution of passive film and accelerated the corrosion of MEAs.The results of X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS)and Mott-Schottky measurements further demonstrated the degradation effect of P.aeruginosa on the passive film.Compared with Fe_(60)(CoCrMnNi)_(40),Fe_(40)(CoCrMnNi)_(60) manifested better resistance to the MIC caused by P.aeruginosa,which may be attributed to more Cr oxides and fewer Fe oxides of the passive film.Weiwei Chang Yangyang Li Huaibei Zheng Hongchang Qian Dawei Guo Shuyuan Zhang Yuntian Lou Chi Tat Kwok Lap Mou Tam Dawei Zhang 2023Acta Metallurgica Sinica(English Letters)2023,36,3:0
