| 2 | On solitary waves.Part 2 A unified perturbation theory for higher-order waves显示文摘A unified perturbation theory is developed here for calculating solitary waves of all heights by series expansion of base flow variables in powers of a small base parameter to eighteenth order for the one-parameter family of solutions in exact form, with all the coefficients determined in rational numbers. Comparative studies are pursued to investigate the effects due to changes of base parameters on (i) the accuracy of the theoretically predicted wave properties and (ii) the rate of convergence of perturbation expansion. Two important results are found by comparisons between the theoretical predictions based on a set of parameters separately adopted for expansion in turn. First, the accuracy and the convergence of the perturbation expansions, appraised versus the exact solution provided by an earlier paper [1] as the standard reference, are found to depend, quite sensitively, on changes in base parameter. The resulting variations in the solution are physically displayed in various wave properties with differences found dependent on which property (e.g.the wave amplitude, speed, its profile, excess mass, momentum, and energy), on what range in value of the base, and on the rank of the order n in the expansion being addressed.Secondly, regarding convergence, the present perturbation series is found definitely asymptotic in nature, with the relative error δ (n) (the relative mean-square difference between successive orders n of wave elevations) reaching a minimum,δm, at a specific order, n = nm, both depending on the base adopted, e.g. n = 11-12 based on parameter α (wave amplitude), nm,β = 15 onβ (amplitude-speed square ratio),and nm.∈ = 17 on ∈ ( wave number squared). The asymptotic range is brought to completion by the highest order of n = 18 reached in this work. | Theodore Yaotsu Wu Xinlong Wang Wendong Qu | 2005 | Acta Mechanica Sinica2005,21,6: | 3 |
| 3 | Effect of chlorine dioxide on avian influenza A(H7N9)virus显示文摘Avian influenza remains a threat to human wellbeing.Hypochlorite derivatives are commonly used as disinfectants to prevent the spread of the disease. The World Health Organization(WHO)has listed chlorine dioxide(ClO_(2))as an A1‐level,safe,and efficient disinfectant. In this study,we tested the efficacy of ClO_(2),in aqueous solution and gas forms, against avian influenza A(H7N9)virus.The virus suspension was mixed with ClO_(2) aqueous solutions of various concentrations and for various time intervals.Aliquots of the mixture were then serially diluted, and the 50%tissue culture infective dose(TCID50)was measured with a hemagglutination test on MDCK cells.ClO_(2) gas produced from generators was introduced in a chamber containing the virus suspension in a Petri dish. The infective activity of the surviving virus was measured by the hemagglutination test.An aqueous solution of ClO_(2) at 126μg/mL for 15 s was effective given that no surviving virus was detected with the hemagglutination test.ClO_(2) gas at>5μL/L sustained for 1 h inactivated the virus effectively, while at 2.5μL/L for 1 h,it only partially inactivated the virus.ClO_(2) as gas or aqueous solution at a certain concentration is effective in inactivating the H7N9 virus, and can be applied for the decontamination and disinfection of environments. | Zhiping Sun Yun Qian Norio Ogata Xia Cai Wendong Han Youhua Xie Hirofumi Morino Koushirou Sogawa Takashi Shibata Di Qu | 2022 | Biosafety and Health2022,4,1: | 2 |

| 10 | Spatial Distribution of Mature Larvae of Obolodiplosis robiniae and Damage Regularity of Its First Generation Larvae on Leaves of Locust( Robinia pseudoacacia)显示文摘[Objective] The paper was to explore the population dynamics of Obolodiplosis robiniae( Haldemann).[Method] The spatial distribution of mature larvae of O.robiniae and the damage regularity of its first generation larvae on leaves of locust were studied in Fangshan District of Beijing City.[Result] The spatial distribution of mature larvae of O.robiniae in the forest was significantly higher than those in forest edge and periphery of forest edge. The attack of the first generation larvae was mainly concentrated in the lower part of tree crown.[Conclusion] The study provides theoretical basis for the effective control against O.robiniae. | Sun Jingshuang Cao Ning Tian Wendong Qu Haixue Xue Xinhua Tian Guihong | 2013 | Plant Diseases and Pests2013,4,4: | 0 |
