2Cordycepin protects renal ischemia/reperfusion injury through regulating inflammation,apoptosis,and oxidative stress显示文摘Cordycepin(3-deoxyadenosine)is a naturally occurring adenosine analog and one of the bioactive constituents isolated from Cordyceps sinensis,species of the fungal genus Cordyceps.It has traditionally been a prized Chinese folk medicine for the human well-being.However,the actions of cordycepin against renal ischemia/reperfusion injury(/R)are still unknown.In the present study,rats were subject to VR and cordycepin was intragastrically administered for seven consecutive days before surgery to investigate the effects and mechanisms of cordycepin against renal/R injury.The test results of kidney and peripheral blood samples of experimental animals showed that cordycepin significantly decreased serum blood urea nitrogen and creatinine levels and markedly attenuated cell injury.Mechanistic studies showed that cordycepin significantly regulated inflammation,apoptosis,and oxidative stress.These data provide new insights for investigating the natural product with the nephroprotective effect against I/R,which should be developed as a new therapeutic agent for the treatment of I/R in the future.Feng Han Meng Dou Yuxiang Wang Cuixiang Xu Yang Li Xiaoming Ding Wujun Xue Jin Zheng Puxun Tian Chenguang Ding 2020Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2020,52,2:9

10High-throughput first-principle prediction of collinear magnetic topological materials显示文摘The success of topological band theory and symmetry-based topological classification significantly advances our understanding of the Berry phase.Based on the critical concept of topological obstruction,efficient theoretical frameworks,including topological quantum chemistry and symmetry indicator theory,were developed,making a massive characterization of real materials possible.However,the classification of magnetic materials often involves the complexity of their unknown magnetic structures,which are often hard to know from experiments,thus,hindering the topological classification.In this paper,we design a high-throughput workflow to classify magnetic topological materials by automating the search for collinear magnetic structures and the characterization of their topological natures.We computed 1049 chosen transition-metal compounds(TMCs)without oxygen and identified 64 topological insulators and 53 semimetals,which become 73 and 26 when U correction is further considered.Due to the lack of magnetic structure information from experiments,our high-throughput predictions provide insightful reference results and make the step toward a complete diagnosis of magnetic topological materials.Yunlong Su Jiayu Hu Xiaochan Cai Wujun Shi Yunyouyou Xia Yuanfeng Xu Xuguang Xu Yulin Chen Gang Li 2022npj Computational Materials2022,,1:0
11Comparison of Five Endogenous Reference Genes for Specific PCR Detection and Quantification of Rice显示文摘Endogenous reference genes (ERGs) provide vital information regarding genetically modified organisms (GMOs). The successful detection of ERGs can identity GMOs and the source of genes, verify stability and reliability of the detection system, and calculate the level of genetically modified (GM) ingredients in mixtures. The reported ERGs in rice include sucrose-phosphate synthase (SPS), phospholipase D (PLD), RBE4 and rice root-specific GOS9 genes. Based on the characteristics of ERGs, a new ERG gene, phosphoenolpyruvate carboxylase (PEPC), was selected, and further compared with the four existing genes. A total of 18 rice varieties and 29 non-rice crops were used to verify the interspecies specificity, intraspecies consistency, sensitivity, stability and reliability of these five ERGs using qualitative and quantitative PCR. Qualitative detection indicated that SPS and PEPC displayed sufficient specificity, and the detection sensitivity was 0.05% and 0.005%, respectively. Although the specificity of both RBE4 and GOS9 were adequate, the amplicons were small and easily confused with primer dimers. Non-specific amplification of the PLD gene was present in maize and potato. Real-time quantitative PCR detection indicated that PLD, SPS and PEPC displayed good specificity, with R2 of the standard curve greater than 0.98, while the amplification efficiency ranged between 90% and 110%. Both the detection sensitivities of PLD and PEPC were five copies and that of SPS was ten copies. RBE4 showed typical amplification in maize, beet and Arabidopsis, while GOS9 was found in maize, tobacco and oats. PEPC exhibited excellent detection sensitivity and species specificity, which made it a potentially useful application in GM-rice supervision and administration. Additionally, SPS and PLD are also suitable for GM-rice detection. 12In silico curation of QTL-rich clusters and candidate gene identification for plant height of bread wheat显示文摘Many genetic loci for wheat plant height(PH) have been reported, and 26 dwarfing genes have been catalogued. To identify major and stable genetic loci for PH, here we thoroughly summarized these functionally or genetic verified dwarfing loci from QTL linkage analysis and genome-wide association study published from 2003 to 2022. A total of 332 QTL, 270 GWAS loci and 83 genes for PH were integrated onto chromosomes according to their locations in the IWGSC RefSeq v2.1 and 65 QTL-rich clusters(QRC) were defined. Candidate genes in each QRC were predicted based on IWGSC Annotation v2.1 and the information on functional validation of homologous genes in other species. A total of 38 candidate genes were predicted for 65 QRC including three GA2ox genes in QRC-4B-IV, QRC-5A-VIII and QRC-6A-II(Rht24) as well as GA 20-oxidase 2(TaSD1-3A) in QRC-3A-IV.
