4Diabetic heart disease:A clinical update显示文摘Diabetes mellitus(DM) significantly increases the risk of heart disease,and DMrelated healthcare expenditure is predominantly for the management of cardiovascular complications.Diabetic heart disease is a conglomeration of coronary artery disease(CAD),cardiac autonomic neuropathy(CAN),and diabetic cardiomyopathy(DCM).The Framingham study clearly showed a 2 to 4-fold excess risk of CAD in patients with DM.Pathogenic mechanisms,clinical presentation,and management options for DM-associated CAD are somewhat different from CAD among nondiabetics.Higher prevalence at a lower age and more aggressive disease in DM-associated CAD make diabetic individuals more vulnerable to premature death.Although common among diabetic individuals,CAN and DCM are often under-recognised and undiagnosed cardiac complications.Structural and functional alterations in the myocardial innervation related to uncontrolled diabetes result in damage to cardiac autonomic nerves,causing CAN.Similarly,damage to the cardiomyocytes from complex pathophysiological processes of uncontrolled DM results in DCM,a form of cardiomyopathy diagnosed in the absence of other causes for structural heart disease.Though optimal management of DM from early stages of the disease can reduce the risk of diabetic heart disease,it is often impractical in the real world due to many reasons.Therefore,it is imperative for every clinician involved in diabetes care to have a good understanding of the pathophysiology,clinical picture,diagnostic methods,and management of diabetes-related cardiac illness,to reduce morbidity and mortality among patients.This clinical review is to empower the global scientific fraternity with up-to-date knowledge on diabetic heart disease.Jake Rajbhandari Cornelius James Fernandez Mayuri Agarwal Beverly Xin Yi Yeap Joseph M Pappachan 2021World Journal of Diabetes2021,12,4:8
5Spatial and Temporal Variability of Farm Size in China in Context of Rapid Urbanization显示文摘During the last 30 years,China has witnessed rapid economic growth and dramatic urbanization,with about 1.2 × 107rural people migrating annually into urban areas.Meanwhile,especially since 1995,the rural population has been declining,which is closely linked to land circulation and the increase in farm size in many villages.Increasing scale of farming operations is often regarded as a key to avoiding the abandonment of farmland and to increasing the income of rural farmers.However,until now,there has been little research on the spatial and temporal variability of farm size at the national level in China.Using data from the national agricultural census and rural household surveys,this study examines the characteristics of land use circulation and the consequent changes in the area of farmland per household.The results show that: 1) 12.2% of rural households were involved in land circulation at the national level.The highest amounts of land circulation have occurred in those provinces where the farmland per capita is more than 0.2 ha or less than 0.1 ha;2) over 80% of households operate less than 0.6 ha of farmland;3) the proportion of mid-sized farms(between 0.2 ha and 0.6 ha per household) has decreased while the smallest and the largest farms have increased.This bears some similarity with the phenomenon known as the ′disappearing middle′,referring to the changes in farm size.This study establishes a framework for interpreting the factors affecting the changes in farm size in China,which include two promoting factors(urbanization and agriculture) and four hindering factors(agricultual land system,household registration,stable clan system,and farmland loss).TAN Minghong Guy M ROBINSON LI Xiubin XIN Liangjie 2013Chinese Geographical Science2013,23,5:8

7笋芽顶端分生组织在竹秆横切面形态形成中的作用与机制研究显示文摘竹秆的横切面主要由表皮、皮层、维管组织、基本组织及髓腔(早期为髓组织)组成。这些组织均由笋芽茎顶端分生组织分化发育而来,且其在生长发育过程中促使了竹秆横切面形态(本文特指:竹秆横切面外轮廓形状、围度及壁-腔结构)的形成。然而,人们对于这一生长发育过程的生物学机制知之甚少。本研究利用解剖学、数学模拟等方法,对 20 种具不同秆径竹种的笋芽顶端分生组织进行了分析。研究结果发现,笋芽顶端分生组织指状形态的维持是竹子产生圆柱形竹秆的基础;在顶端分生组织细胞数目增加的同时,线性增加原体细胞数目应是竹子在演化过程中产生大径竹秆且保持规则壁-腔结构的方式。进一步通过研究一个竹壁增厚且壁-腔架构紊乱的稳定变异体———实肚竹( Phyllostachys nidularia f. farcta)发现,其笋芽顶端分生组织细胞数目减少且原体/原套细胞数比值降低使其产生了高比例的壁组分组织(指基本分生组织与肋状分生组织)与低比例的髓组织。上述 2 种组织的比例失衡,使得实肚竹笋芽在后续发育中壁组分组织随机挤入到了髓组织中,最终形成了实肚竹异常的竹秆横切面形态(竹壁多样化增厚且壁-腔结构紊乱)。此外,相对较小的顶端分生组织,使得实肚竹笋芽产生了较少的内源激素,如其生长素含量仅约为其原种篌竹的 67. 5%,各细胞分裂素含量也显著低于篌竹笋芽。转录组分析进一步发现,在实肚竹笋芽中与激素及代谢相关的功能基因呈显著下调表达。这些生理与分子变化最终导致了实肚竹竹秆矮化、秆径减小且生物量降低。本论文的研究结果为研究竹秆横切面发育提供了一个重要的视角,同时也为实肚竹厚壁茎秆的形成提出了一个合理的机制。Wang Y Sun X Ding Y Fei Z Jiao C Fan M Yao B Xin P Chu J Wei Q 王雨珺 魏强 2019世界竹藤通讯2019,17,3:5
8Diaporthe species occurring on citrus in China显示文摘Diaporthe species are important pathogens of a wide range of hosts including many economically important crops.Diaporthe citri is generally accepted to cause melanose of Citrus fruits,leaves and shoots;stem-end rot of fruits and gummosis of perennial branches.In this study,147 strains of Diaporthe were isolated from diseased leaves,twigs,fruits and branches of Citrus from Shaanxi,Zhejiang,Guangxi,Fujian,Guangdong,Jiangxi,Hunan,Chongqing and Shanghai and identified by morphology and molecular analysis of nuclear ribosomal internal transcribed spacer(ITS),partial sequences of translation elongation factor 1-α(EF 1-α),tubulin(TUB)and calmodulin(CAL)genes.All strains from Citrus clustered in three clades.Diaporthe citri was the predominant species and is compared with strains from Florida,USA,where this species was first collected and described.Two new taxa differing from D.citri are described as D.citriasiana and D.citrichinensis in this paper.Inoculation tests indicate that all three species are able to cause stem-end rot of fruits,while only D.citri could cause melanose on leaves.Feng Huang Xin Hou Megan M Dewdney Yushi Fu Guoqing Chen Kevin D Hyde Hongye Li 2013Fungal Diversity2013,,4:4

11Thermal internal boundary layer and its effects on air pollutants during summer in a coastal city in North China显示文摘The thermal internal boundary layer(TIBL) is associated with coastal pollution dispersion,which can result in high concentrations of air pollutants near the surface of the Earth. In this study, boundary layer height data which were obtained using a ceilometer were used to assess the effect of the TIBL on atmospheric pollutants in Qinhuangdao, a coastal city in North China.A TIBL formed on 33% of summer days. When a TIBL formed, the sunshine duration was 2.4 hr longer, the wind speed was higher, the wind direction reflected a typical sea breeze, and the boundary layer height was lower from 9:00 LT to 20:00 LT compared to days without a TIBL. If no TIBL formed, the average concentrations of PM_(2.5) and PM_(10) decreased with increasing boundary layer height. However, when a TIBL was observed, the average concentrations of PM_(2.5) and PM_(10) increased with increasing boundary layer height. Because the air from the sea is clean, PM_(2.5) and PM_(10) concentrations reached minimums in the daytime at 16:00 LT. After16:00 LT, the PM_(2.5) and PM_(10) concentrations increased rapidly on days when a TIBL formed,which indicated that the TIBL leads to the rapid accumulation of atmospheric pollutants in the evening. Therefore, the maximum concentrations of particulate matters were larger when a TIBL formed compared to when no TIBL was present during the night.
