| 1 | Effect of Trace Addition of Ceramic on Microstructure Development and Mechanical Properties of Selective Laser Melted AlSi10Mg Alloy显示文摘Selective laser melting(SLM)is an emerging additive manufacturing technology for fabricating aluminum alloys and aluminum matrix composites.Nevertheless,it remains unclear how to improve the properties of laser manufactured aluminum alloy by adding ceramic reinforcing particles.Here the effect of trace addition of TiB2 ceramic(1%weight fraction)on microstructural and mechanical properties of SLM-produced AlSi10Mg composite parts was investigated.The densification level increased with increasing laser power and decreasing scan speed.A near fully dense composite part(99.37%)with smooth surface morphology and elevated inter-layer bonding was successfully obtained.A decrease of lattice plane distance was identified by X-ray diffraction with the laser scan speed decreased,which implied that the crystal lattices were distorted due to the dissolution of Si and TiB2 particles.A homogeneous composite microstructure with the distribution of surface-smoothened TiB2 particles was present,and a small amount of Si particles precipitated at the interface between reinforcing particles and matrix.In contrast to the AlSi10Mg alloy,the composites showed a stabilized microhardness distribution.A higher ultimate tensile strength of 380.0 MPa,yield strength of 250.4 MPa and elongation of 3.43%were obtained even with a trace amount of ceramic addition.The improvement of tensile properties can be attributed to multiple mechanisms including solid solution strengthening,load-bearing strengthening and dispersion strengthening.This research provides a theoretical basis for ceramic reinforced aluminum matrix composites by additive manufacturing. | Yuxin Li Dongdong Gu Han Zhang Lixia Xi | 2020 | Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2020,33,2: | 7 |
| 2 | Anisotropic corrosion resistance of TiC reinforced Ni-based composites fabricated by selective laser melting显示文摘Electrochemical measurements on three planes of TiC/Inconel 718 composites fabricated by selective laser melting(SLM) were performed to study the corrosion property. The results showed that the YZplane with dense and fine columnar structures possessed high microhardness and superior corrosion resistance in 3.5 wt% NaCl solution. For the XZ-plane, a decreased anti-corrosion property was observed owing to its inhomogeneous microstructures. While the XY-plane with large irregular pores and clustered ring-like structures was more susceptible to corrosion compared with the other two planes. | 3 | Colonization of endophyte Acremonium sp. D212 in Panax notoginseng and rice mediated by auxin and jasmonic acid显示文摘Endophytic fungi can be beneficial to plant growth. However, the molecular mechanisms under-lying colonization of Acremonium spp. remain unclear. In this study, a novel endophytic Acremonium strain was isolated from the buds of Panax notoginseng and named Acremonium sp. D212. The Acremonium sp. D212 could colonize the roots of P. notoginseng, enhance the resistance of P. notoginseng to root rot disease, and promote root growth and saponin bio-synthesis in P. notoginseng. Acremonium sp. D212 could secrete indole-3-acetic acid (IAA) and jasmonic acid (JA), and inoculation with the fungus increased the endogenous levels of IAA and JA in P. noto-ginseng. Colonization of the Acremonium sp. D212 in the roots of the rice line Nipponbare was dependent on the concentration of methyl jasmonate (MeJA) (2–15μmol/L) and 1-naphthalenacetic acid (NAA) (10–20μmol/L). Moreover, the roots of the JA signaling-defective coi1-18 mutant were colonized by Acremonium sp. D212 to a lesser degree than those of the wild-type Nipponbare and miR393b-overexpressing lines, and the colonization was res-cued by MeJA but not by NAA. It suggests that the cross-talk between JA signaling and the auxin biosynthetic pathway plays a crucial role in the colonization of Acremonium sp. | 10 | Bacillus sp.CDB3 isolated from cattle dip-sites possesses two ars gene clusters显示文摘Contamination of soil and water by arsenic is a global problem.In Australia,the dipping of cattle in arsenic-containing solution to control cattle ticks in last centenary has left many sites heavily contaminated with arsenic and other toxicants.We had previously isolated five soil bacterial strains(CDB1-5) highly resistant to arsenic.To understand the resistance mechanism,molecular studies have been carried out.Two chromosome-encoded arsenic resistance(ars) gene clusters have been cloned from CDB3(Bacillus sp.).They both function in Escherichia coli and cluster 1 exerts a much higher resistance to the toxic metalloid.Cluster 2 is smaller possessing four open reading frames(ORFs) arsRorf2BC,similar to that identified in Bacillus subtilis Skin element.Among the eight ORFs in cluster 1 five are analogs of common ars genes found in other bacteria,however,organized in a unique order arsRBCDA instead of arsRDABC.Three other putative genes are located directly downstream and designated as arsTIP based on the homologies of their theoretical translation sequences respectively to thioredoxin reductases,iron-sulphur cluster proteins and protein phosphatases.The latter two are novel of any known ars operons.The arsD gene from Bacillus species was cloned for the first time and the predict protein differs from the well studied E.coli ArsD by lacking two pairs of C-terminal cysteine residues.Its functional involvement in arsenic resistance has been confirmed by a deletion experiment.There exists also an inverted repeat in the intergenic region between arsC and arsD implying some unknown transcription regulation. | Somanath Bhat Xi Luo Zhiqiang XU Lixia Liu Ren Zhang | 2011 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2011,23,1: | 1 |

| 15 | Improved diagnosis of thyroid cancer aided with deep learning applied to sonographic text reports:a retrospective,multi-cohort,diagnostic study显示文摘Objective:Large volume radiological text data have been accumulated since the incorporation of electronic health record(EHR)systems in clinical practice.We aimed to determine whether deep natural language processing algorithms could aid radiologists in improving thyroid cancer diagnosis.Methods:Sonographic EHR data were obtained from the EHR database.Pathological reports were used as the gold standard for diagnosing thyroid cancer.We developed thyroid cancer diagnosis based on natural language processing(THCaDxNLP)to interpret unstructured sonographic text reports for thyroid cancer diagnosis.We used the area under the receiver operating characteristic curve(AUROC)as the primary metric to measure the performance of the THCaDxNLP.We compared the performance of thyroid ultrasound radiologists aided with THCaDxNLP vs.those without THCaDxNLP using 5 independent test sets.Results:We obtained a total number of 788,129 sonographic radiological reports.The number of thyroid sonographic data points was 132,277,18,400 of which were thyroid cancer patients.Among the 5 test sets,the numbers of patients per set were 439,186,82,343,and 171.THCaDxNLP achieved high performance in identifying thyroid cancer patients(the AUROC ranged from 0.857–0.932).Thyroid ultrasound radiologists aided with THCaDxNLP achieved significantly higher performances than those without THCaDxNLP in terms of accuracy(93.8%vs.87.2%;one-sided t-test,adjusted P=0.003),precision(92.5%vs.86.0%;P=0.018),and F1 metric(94.2%vs.86.4%;P=0.007).Conclusions:THCaDxNLP achieved a high AUROC for the identification of thyroid cancer,and improved the accuracy,sensitivity,and precision of thyroid ultrasound radiologists.This warrants further investigation of THCaDxNLP in prospective clinical trials. | Qiang Zhang Sheng Zhang Jianxin Li Yi Pan Jing Zhao Yixing Feng Yanhui Zhao Xiaoqing Wang Zhiming Zheng Xiangming Yang Lixia Liu Chunxin Qin Ke Zhao Xiaonan Liu Caixia Li Liuyang Zhang Chunrui Yang Na Zhuo Hong Zhang Jie Liu Jinglei Gao Xiaoling Di Fanbo Meng Wei Ji Meng Yang Xiaojie Xin Xi Wei Rui Jin Lun Zhang Xudong Wang Fengju Song Xiangqian Zheng Ming Gao Kexin Chen Xiangchun Li | 2022 | Cancer Biology & Medicine2022,19,5: | 0 |
| 16 | Formation Process and Mechanical Deformation Behavior of a Novel Laser-Printed Compression-Induced Twisting-Compliant Mechanism显示文摘A novel compression-induced twisting(CIT)-compliant mechanism was designed based on the freedom and constraint topology(FACT)method and manufactured by means of laser powder bed fusion(LPBF).The effects of LPBF printing parameters on the formability and compressive properties of the laserprinted CIT-compliant mechanism were studied.Within the range of optimized laser powers from 375 to 450 W and with the densification level of the samples maintained at above 98%,changes in the obtained relative densities of the LPBF-fabricated CIT-compliant mechanism with the applied laser powers were not apparent.Increased laser power led to the elimination of residual metallurgical pores within the inclined struts of the CIT mechanism.The highest dimensional accuracy of 0.2% and the lowest surface roughness of 20μm were achieved at a laser power of 450 W.The deformation behavior of the CIT-compliant mechanism fabricated by means of LPBF exhibited four typical stages:an elastic stage,a heterogeneous plastic deformation stage,a strength-destroying stage,and a deformation-destroying stage(or instable deformation stage).The accumulated compressive strain of the optimally printed CIT mechanism using a laser power of 450 W went up to 20% before fracturing,demonstrating a large deformation capacity.The twisting behavior and mechanical properties were investigated via a combination of finite-element simulation and experimental verification.An approximately linear relationship between the axial compressive strain and rotation angle was achieved before the strain reached 15% for the LPBF-processed CIT-compliant mechanism. | Jie Gao Dongdong Gu Chenglong Ma Donghua Dai Lixia Xi Kaijie Lin Tong Gao Jihong Zhu Yuexin Du | 2022 | Engineering2022,8,8: | 0 |
