1Pressure balance and imbalance in the optic nerve chamber: The Beijing Intracranial and Intraocular Pressure (iCOP) Study显示文摘To determine the interdependence of intracranial pressure(ICP) and intraocular pressure(IOP) and how it affects optic nerve pressures, eight normal dogs were examined using pressure-sensing probes implanted into the left ventricle, lumbar cistern, optic nerve subarachnoid space in the left eye, and anterior chamber in the left eye. This allowed ICP, lumbar cistern pressure(LCP), optic nerve subarachnoid space pressure(ONSP) and IOP to be simultaneously recorded. After establishing baseline pressure levels, pressure changes that resulted from lowering ICP(via shunting cerebrospinal fluid(CSF) from the ventricle) were recorded. At baseline, all examined pressures were different(ICP>LCP>ONSP), but correlated(P<0.001). As ICP was lowered during CSF shunting, IOP also dropped in a parallel time course so that the trans-lamina cribrosa gradient(TLPG) remained stable(ICP-IOP dependent zone). However, once ICP fell below a critical breakpoint, ICP and IOP became uncoupled and TLPG changed as ICP declined(ICP-IOP independent zone). The optic nerve pressure gradient(ONPG) and trans-optic nerve pressure gradient(TOPG) increased linearly as ICP decreased through both the ICP-IOP dependent and independent zones. We conclude that ICP and IOP are coupled in a specific pressure range, but when ICP drops below a critical point, IOP and ICP become uncoupled and TLPG increases. When ICP drops, a rise in the ONPG and TOPG creates more pressure and reduces CSF flow around the optic nerve. 3A Novel Approach for the Numerical Simulation of Fluid-Structure Interaction Problems in the Presence of Debris显示文摘A novel algorithm is proposed for the simulation of fluid-structure interaction problems.In particular,much attention is paid to natural phenomena such as debris flow.The fluid part(debris flow fluid)is simulated in the framework of the smoothed particle hydrodynamics(SPH)approach,while the solid part(downstream obstacles)is treated using the finite element method(FEM).Fluid-structure coupling is implemented through dynamic boundary conditions.In particular,the software“TensorFlow”and an algorithm based on Python are combined to conduct the required calculations.The simulation results show that the dynamics of viscous and non-viscous debris flows can be extremely different when there are obstacles in the downstream direction.The implemented SPH-FEM coupling method can simulate the fluid-structure coupling problem with a reasonable approximation.Miaomiao Ren Xiaobin Shu 2020Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing2020,16,5:3
4Y-shaped beam splitter by graded structure design in a photonic crystal显示文摘We propose a method to bend a self-collimated beam in a photonic crystal. The beam bending relies on the gradual variation of the constitutive parameters of the photonic crystal. A new Y-shaped beam splitter is designed with a composite structure constructed using two graded photonic crystals. We demonstrate that the incident beam is divided into two output beams by the designed splitter. 16Polarization-sensitive and active controllable electromagnetically induced transparency in U-shaped terahertz metamaterials显示文摘Electromagnetically induced transparency(EIT)phenomenon is observed in simple metamaterial which consists of concentric double U-shaped resonators(USRs).The numerical and theoretical analysis reveals that EIT arises from the bright-bright mode coupling.The transmission spectra at different polarization angle of incident light shows that EIT transparency window is polarization sensitive.More interestingly,Fano resonance appears in the transmission spectrum at certain polarization angles.The sharp and asymmetric Fano lineshape is high valuable for sensing.The performance of sensor is investigated and the sensitivity is high up to 327 GHz/RIU.Furthermore,active control of EIT window is realized by incorporating photosensitive silicon.The proposed USR structure is simple and compact,which may find significant applications in tunable integrated devices such as biosensor,filters,and THz modulators.Kun REN Ying ZHANG Xiaobin REN Yumeng HE Qun HAN 2021Frontiers of Optoelectronics2021,14,2:1

19Copper diffusion related phase change and voltage decay in CuS cathode显示文摘Copper sulfide(CuS)is a promising cathode for lithium-ion batteries(LIBs)due to its impeccable theoretical energy density(~1015 Wh·kg^(−1) and 4743 Wh·L^(−1)).However,it suffers from voltage decay leaded energy density loss and low energy efficiency,which hinders its application.In this work,with combined ex-situ/in-situ X-ray diffraction(XRD)and electrochemical analysis,we explore detailed degradation mechanisms.For the voltage decay,it is attributed to a spontaneous reaction between CuS cathode and copper current collector(Cu CC).This reaction leads to energy density loss and active materials degradation(CuS→Cu_(1.81)S).As for energy efficiency,CuS undergoes a series of phase transformations.The main phase transition processes are CuS→α-LiCuS→Li_(2−x)Cu_(x)S+Cu→Li_(2)S+Cu for discharge;Li_(2)S+Cu→Li_(2−x)Cu_(x)S→β-LiCuS→CuS for charge.Here,α-LiCuS,β-LiCuS,and Li_(2−x)CuxS are newly identified phases.These phase changes are driven by topotactic-reaction-related copper diffusion and rearrangement.This work demonstrates the significance of transition-metal diffusion in the intermediates formation and phase change in conversion-type materials.Jian Zou Zhenrui Wu Ruilin Tang Zhenzhen Ren Xiaobin Niu Liping Wang 2023Nano Research2023,16,6:0
