| 1 | Sparse Kernel Locality Preserving Projection and Its Application in Nonlinear Process Fault Detection显示文摘Locality preserving projection (LPP) is a newly emerging fault detection method which can discover local manifold structure of a data set to be analyzed, but its linear assumption may lead to monitoring performance degradation for complicated nonlinear industrial processes. In this paper, an improved LPP method, referred to as sparse kernel locality preserving projection (SKLPP) is proposed for nonlinear process fault detection. Based on the LPP model, kernel trick is applied to construct nonlinear kernel model. Furthermore, for reducing the computational complexity of kernel model, feature samples selection technique is adopted to make the kernel LPP model sparse. Lastly, two monitoring statistics of SKLPP model are built to detect process faults. | 2 | Effect on glycemia in rats with type 2 diabetes induced by streptozotocin: low-frequency electro-pulse needling stimulated Weiwanxiashu(EX-B 3) and Zusanli(ST 36)显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effect of low frequency electro-pulse acupuncture(EA) on blood glucose in rats with streptozotocin-induced type 2diabetes, and the possible mechanism underlying the action.METHODS: Rat models were established with high fat feeding and intraperitoneal injection of streptozotocin(STZ)(30 mg/kg). Rats with a random blood glucose > 16.7 mmol/L and blood glucose at 2 h-point of oral glucose tolerance test(OGTT) > 11.1 mmol/L were included as diabetic rats, and randomly divided into model group, EA Weiwanxiashu(EX-B 3) group, EA Zusanli(ST 36)group, glimepiride group, and EA non-acupoint group(n = 12). EA(2 Hz continuous wave, 2 m A,20 min/day, 6 days/week, 4 weeks) and intra-gastric administration of glimepiride were applied as interventions. With fasting blood glucose and OGTT tested at the end of the intervention, thestudy observed the patterns of hypoglycemic effects. For mechanism study, it observes hematoxylin and eosin staining and Masson staining of pancreas paraffin sections, protein expression of glucagon-like peptide 1 receptor(GLP-1R) in the pancreas and skeletal muscle, glucose transporter 4(GLUT4) protein expression in skeletal muscle membrane, to detect whether EA controls blood glucose via regulation of GLP-1R.RESULTS: EA Weiwanxiashu(EX-B 3) significantly increased model rats' pancreas GLP-1R, and GLUT4 of skeletal muscle membrane; the therapy significantly decreased model rats' skeletal muscle GLP-1R, restored pancreas morphology, and reduced fasting blood glucose and insulin resistance indices.CONCLUSION: EA Weiwanxiashu(EX-B 3) alone has significant effect on glycemia. EA Weiwanxiashu(EX-B 3) plus glimepiride further strengthen the effect. | 4 | Yizhining elixation improves sustained attention deficit and impulsiveness of spontaneous hypertensive rats显示文摘BACKGROUND: The core symptoms of attention deficit, impulsiveness, hyperactivity of attention deficit hyperactivity disorders (ADHD) can concurrently present in spontaneous hypertensive rats. Neuropathological, biochemical and pharmacological studies also support it. Spontaneous hypertensive rats are one kind of best ADHD animal models, which has been accepted at present. Yizhining elixation can reinforce kidney and calm liver, strengthen spleen and nourish heart, benefit intelligence and focus attention, but its therapeutic effect on treatment of ADHD needs to be further investigated. OBJECTIVE: To observe the effect of Yizhining elixation on the persistent active attention deficit and impulsiveness of rats with spontaneous hypertension. DESIGN: Observational and controlled analysis. SETTING: Department of Pediatrics, the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine. MATERIALS: Thirty-six male rats with spontaneous hypertension, of clean grade, were involved in this experiment. The involved rats were provided by Shanghai SLAC Laboratory Animal Co., Ltd., and they did not undergo any experiments; Yizhining elixation was composed by Guiban, Shenglonggu, Yuanzhi, Shichangpu, Yejiaoteng, Shudi, Dangshen, Yunling, Fuxiaomai, Wueizi, etc. Crude drug, provided by Outpatient Dispensary, Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine, was prepared into water elixation, which contained crude drug of 1.154 g/mL. METHODS: This experiment was carried out in the Department of Pediatrics, First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine between March and July 2005. The involved rats were randomized into 3 groups: Yizhining high dose group, Yizhining low dose group and blank control group, with 12 rats in each. Changes in sustained attention and impulsiveness of rats were detected before and after administration of Yizhining elixation by '5-choice serial response time task' method. Following above-mentioned training and detection, rats in each group were daily drenched with Yizhining elixation once for 14 days successively. Rats in the Yizhining high-dose and low-dose groups were drenched with 12.6 mL/kg and 6.3 mL/kg Yizhining elixation (diluted to 25 mL/kg) respectively, and those in the blank control group were drenched with 12.5 mL/kg normal saline. On the 14th day after administration, the ratios of correct and immature response of rats were re-detected for 3 days successively by formal detection method for later analysis. The sustained attention of rats was evaluated with ratio of correct response: Ratio of correct response=[times of correct response/(times of correct response + times of incorrect response)]; impulsiveness was evaluated with the ratio of immature response: ratio of immature response=[times of immature response/ (times of correct response+times of incorrect response+times of omission+times of immature response)]. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: The effects of different doses of Yizhining elixation on the sustained attention (ratio of correct response) and impulsiveness (ratio of immature response) of spontaneous hypertensive rats. RESULTS: Thirty-six spontaneous hypertensive rats were involved in the final analysis. The ratio of correct response of rats in the Yizhining high dose and low dose groups after administration was (98.9±2.30)% and (96.6±4.00)%, respectively, which was significantly higher than that before administration [(80.4±11.5)%, (83.9±8.90)%,P < 0.01] and that in the blank control group[(83.3±6.30)%,P < 0.01]. The ratio of immature response of rats in the Yizhining high dose and low dose groups after administration was (5.04±1.04)%, (7.23±1.22)%, respectively, which was lower than that before administration [(9.85±2.50)%,(9.40±1.73)%,P < 0.05] and that in the blank control group [(9.42±1.64)%,P < 0.01]. | 9 | A genome wide association study between copy number variation (CNV) and human height in Chinese population显示文摘Copy number variation (CNV) is a type of genetic variation which may have important roles in phenotypic variability and disease susceptibility. To hunt for genetic variants underlying human height variation, we performed a genome wide CNV association study for human height in 618 Chinese unrelated subjects using Affymetrix 500K array set. After adjusting for age and sex, we found that four CNVs at 6p21.3, 8p23.3-23.2, 9p23 and 16p12.1 were associated with human height (with borderline significant p value: 0.013, 0.011, 0.024, 0.049; respectively). However, after multiple tests correction, none of them was associated with human height. We observed that the gain of copy number (more than 2 copies) at 8p23.3-23.2 was associated with lower height (normal copy number vs. gain of copy number: 161.2 cm vs. 153.7 cm, p = 0.011), which accounted for 0.9% of height variation. Loss of copy number (less than 2 copies) at 6p21.3 was associated with 0.8% lower height (loss of copy number vs. normal copy number: 154.5 cm vs. 161.1 cm, p = 0.013). Since no important genes influencing height located in CNVs at loci of 8p23.3-23.2 and 6p21.3, the two CNVs may cause the structural rear- rangements of neighbored important candidate genes, thus regulates the variation of height. | 14 | Current climate overrides past climate change in explaining multi-site beta diversity of Lauraceae species in China显示文摘Background:We aimed to characterise the geographical distribution of Sørensen-based multi-site dissimilarity(β_(sor))and its underlying true turnover(β_(sim))and nestedness(βsne)components for Chinese Lauraceae and to analyse their relationships to current climate and past climate change.Methods:We used ensembles of small models(ESMs)to map the current distributions of 353 Lauraceae species in China and calculated β_(sor) and its β_(sim) and β_(sne) components.We tested the relationship between β_(sor),β_(sne) and β_(sim) with current climate and past climate change related predictors using a series of simultaneous autoregressive(SAR_(err))models.Results:Spatial distribution of β_(sor)of Lauraceae is positively correlated with latitude,showing an inverse rela-tionship to the latitudinalα-diversity(species richness)gradient.High β_(sor) occurs at the boundaries of the warm temperate and subtropical zones and at the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau due to high β_(sne).The optimized SAR_(err) model explainsβ_(sor) andβ_(sne) well,but notβ_(sim).Current mean annual temperature determinesβ_(sor) and β_(sne) of Lauraceae more than anomalies and velocities of temperature or precipitation since the Last Glacial Maximum.Conclusions:Current low temperatures and high climatic heterogeneity are the main factors explaining the high multi-siteβ-diversity of Lauraceae.In contrast to analyses of the β-diversity of entire species assemblages,studies of single plant families can provide complementary insights into the drivers of β-diversity of evolutionarily more narrowly defined entities. | Ziyan Liao Youhua Chen Kaiwen Pan Mohammed A.Dakhil Kexin Lin Xianglin Tian Fengying Zhang Xiaogang Wu Bikram Pandey Bin Wang Niklaus E.Zimmermann Lin Zhang Michael P.Nobis | 2022 | Forest Ecosystems2022,9,2: | 1 |

| 16 | Quick estimation of parameters for the land surface data assimilation system and its influence based on the extended Kalman filter and automatic differentiation显示文摘Soil moisture plays a crucial role in drought monitoring,flood forecasting,and water resource management.Data assimilation methods can integrate the strengths of land surface models(LSM)and remote sensing data to generate highprecision and spatio-temporally continuous soil moisture products.However,one of the challenges of the land data assimilation system(LDAS)is how to accurately estimate model and observation errors.To address this,we had previously proposed a dualcycle assimilation algorithm that can simultaneously estimate the model and observation errors,LSM parameters,and observation operator parameters.However,this algorithm requires a large ensemble size to guarantee stable parameter estimates,resulting in low efficiency and limiting its large-scale applications.To address this limitation,the authors employed the following approaches:(1)using automatic differentiation to compute the Jacobian matrix of LSM instead of constructing a tangent linear model of LSM,and(2)replacing the ensemble Kalman filter framework with the extended Kalman filter(EKF)framework to improve the efficiency of parameter optimization for the dual-cycle algorithm.The EKF-based dual-cycle algorithm accelerated the parameter estimation efficiency near 60 times during a 90-day time period with a model integration time step of 1 h.To evaluate the dual-cycle LDAS at the regional-scale,it was applied to assimilate the SMAP soil moisture over the Tibetan Plateau,and soil moisture estimates were validated using in situ observations from four different climatic areas.The results showed that the EKF-based dual-cycle LDAS corrected biases in both the model and observations and produced more accurate estimates of soil moisture,land surface temperature,and evapotranspiration than did the open loop with default parameters.Furthermore,the spatial distribution of soil parameters(sand content,clay content,and porosity)obtained from the LDAS was more reasonable than those of default values.The EKF-based dual-cycle algorithm developed in this study is expected to improve the assimilation skills of land surface,ecological,and hydrological studies. | Jiaxin TIAN Hui LU Kun YANG Jun QIN Long ZHAO Jianhong ZHOU Yaozhi JIANG Xiaogang MA | 2023 | Science China Earth Sciences2023,66,11: | 0 |
