1Non-Orthogonal Multiple Access(NOMA) for Future Downlink Radio Access of 5G显示文摘Multiple access(MA) technology is of most importance for 5G. Non-orthogonal multiple access(NOMA) utilizing power domain and advanced receiver has been considered as a promising candidate MA technology recently. In this paper, the NOMA concept is presented toward future enhancements of spectrum efficiency in lower frequency bands for downlink of 5G system. Key component technologies of NOMA are presented and discussed including multiuser transmission power allocation, scheduling algorithm, receiver design and combination of NOMA with multi-antenna technology. The performance gains of NOMA are evaluated by system-level simulations with very practical assumptions. 2Effects of combined acupuncture and eugenol on learning-memory ability and antioxidation system of hippocampus in Alzheimer disease rats via olfactory system stimulation显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effects of combined acupuncture and eugenol on learning-memory ability and the antioxidation system of the hippocampus in Alzheimer disease (AD) rats. METHODS: Sixty Sprague Dawley rats, weighing (300±10) g, were randomly divided with 10 rats per group into a normal control group, AD model group, AD with cut olfactory nerve group, Xiu three-needle group, eugenol group, and combined acupuncture and eugenol group. The AD model was established by injection of amyloid β1-40 (Aβ 1-40). Morris maze tests were conducted for evaluating the learning-memory ability. Content of malo- ndialdehyde (MDA) and activities of superoxide dismutase (SOD) and glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px) in the hippocampus were detected. RESULTS: The average escape latency and the mean swimming distance in the normal control group, the Xiu three-needle group, the eugenol group, and the combined acupuncture and euge-nol group were significantly shorter than those in the AD model group (all P<0.01). The combined acupuncture and eugenol group had shorter escape latency and mean swimming distance than those in the Xiu three-needle group and the eugenol group. There were no significant differences between the Xiu three-needle group and the eugenol group and between the AD group and the AD with cut olfactory nerve group (P>0.05). Compared with the normal control group, the MDA content in the hippocampus significantly increased (P<0.05) and GSH-Px and SOD activities significantly decreased in the AD model group (P<0.01). Compared with the AD model group, significantly decreased (P< 0.01) and SOD and GSH-Px activities significantly increased in the Xiu three-needle group, eugenol group, and combined acupuncture and eugenol group (P<0.05). Compared with the Xiu three-needle group and eugenol group, the MDA content significantly decreased (P<0.05) and SOD and GSH-Px activities increased (P<0.05) in the combined acupuncture and eugenol group. There were no significant differences among the three indices between the Xiu three-needle group and the eugenol group and between the AD model group and the AD with cut olfactory nerve group (P>0.05). CONCLUSION: Both Xiu three-needle and eugenol can increase learning-memory ability, decrease MDA content, and increase SOD and GSH-Px activities in the hippocampus in AD rats. 4Global warming projections using the human–earth system model BNU-HESM1.0显示文摘Future climate change is usually projected by coupled earth system models under specific emission scenarios designed by integrated assessment models(IAMs),and this offline approach means there is no interaction between the coupled earth system models and the IAMs.This paper introduces a new method to design possible future emission scenarios and corresponding climate change, in which a simple economic and climate damage component is added to the coupled earth system model of Beijing Normal University(BNU-ESM). With the growth of population and technological expertise and the declining emission-to-output ratio described in the Dynamic Integrated Climate-Economy model, the projected carbon emission is 13.7 Gt C, resulting in a 2.4 °C warming by the end of the twenty-first century(2080–2099) compared with1980–1999. This paper also suggests the importance of the land and ocean carbon cycle in determining the CO2 concentration in the atmosphere. 5Regression analysis of major parameters affecting the intensity of coal and gas outbursts in laboratory显示文摘Estimating the intensity of outbursts of coal and gas is important as the intensity and frequency of outbursts of coal and gas tend to increase in deep mining. Fully understanding the major factors contributing to coal and gas outbursts is significant in the evaluation of the intensity of the outburst. In this paper, we discuss the correlation between these major factors and the intensity of the outburst using Analysis of Variance(ANOVA) and Contingency Table Analysis(CTA). Regression analysis is used to evaluate the impact of these major factors on the intensity of outbursts based on physical experiments. Based on the evaluation, two simple models in terms of multiple linear and nonlinear regression were constructed for the prediction of the intensity of the outburst. The results show that the gas pressure and initial moisture in the coal mass could be the most significant factors compared to the weakest factor-porosity. The P values from Fisher's exact test in CTA are: moisture(0.019), geostress(0.290), porosity(0.650), and gas pressure(0.031). P values from ANOVA are moisture(0.094), geostress(0.077), porosity(0.420), and gas pressure(0.051). 6The Medium Energy X-ray telescope (ME) onboard the Insight-HXMT astronomy satellite显示文摘The Medium Energy X-ray telescope(ME) is one of the three main telescopes on board the Insight hard X-ray modulation telescope(Insight-HXMT) astronomy satellite. ME contains 1728 pixels of Si-PIN detectors sensitive in 5-30 ke V with a total geometrical area of 952 cm^2. The application specific integrated circuit(ASIC) chip, VA32TA6, is used to achieve low power consumption and low readout noise. The collimators define three kinds of field of views(FOVs) for the telescope, 1°×4°, 4°×4°,and blocked ones. Combination of such FOVs can be used to estimate the in-orbit X-ray and particle background components.The energy resolution of ME is ~3 ke V at 17.8 ke V(FWHM) and the time resolution is 255 μs. 7Use of a modified ureteral access sheath in semi-rigid ureteroscopy to treat large upper ureteral stones is associated with high stone free rates显示文摘Objective:To examine differences in outcomes of semi-rigid ureteroscopy(URS)with or without a modified-ureteral-access-sheath(mUAS)to treat large upper ureteral stones.Methods:Patients with single,radio-opaque large upper ureteral stone(≥10 mm)treated using semi-rigid URS between August 2013 and October 2016 were retrospectively evaluated.The stone-free status was determined from Kidney-ureter-bladder(KUB)X-ray films taken on postoperative Day 1 and after 1 month.Results:Of 103 patients meeting inclusion criteria,43(41.75%)and 60(58.25%)were treated with semi-rigid URS with and without mUAS,respectively.The immediate stone-free rate(SFR)for the mUAS group was significantly higher than the non-mUAS group(40[93.0%]vs.46[76.7%];p=0.033).The SFR at 1 month was also high for patients treated using mUAS,but not statistically different from patients not treated with mUAS(41[95.3%]mUAS vs.51[85.0%]non-mUAS;p=0.115).Auxiliary procedure rates were significantly lower for mUAS patients compared to non-mUAS patients(2[4.7%]vs.14[23.3%];p=0.01).There were no significant differences in surgical duration and hospital stays,and the overall complication rates were statistically similar for mUAS patients compared to non-mUAS patients(1[2.3%]vs.3[5.0%];p=0.638).Jad Khaled AlSmadi Xiaohang Li Guohua Zeng 2019Asian Journal of Urology2019,6,3:5
8Evaluation of the potential risks of heavy metal contamination in rice paddy soils around an abandoned Hg mine area in Southwest China显示文摘To assess the potential ecological and health risks of trace elements(Hg,Cd,As,Mn,Sb,Pb,Cu,Ni,Cr,and Zn),a total of 138 soil samples from rice paddies were collected during the rice harvest season in the Wanshan mining area,Guizhou Province,Southwest China.Factors of the pollution load index(PLI),geo-accumulation index(I-Geo),enrichment factor(EF),and risk index(RI)were determined.High concentrations of Hg,Sb,As,Zn,Cd,Cu,and Mn were observed in the soils.The PLI,I-Geo,and EF results all showed high levels of contamination by Hg and Sb and moderate levels of contamination by As,Pb,Zn,Cu,Cd,and Mn.There was no significant contamination from Ni and Cr.The RI was very high,with Hg as the dominant pollutant,as expected,indicating that the historical large-scale Hg mining,as well as artisanal mining,has had a significant impact on the Wanshan area.Moreover,coal combustion,manganese factories,and the use of agrochemicals by the local population could also have an impact on the soil through the introduction of heavy metal loads.To address the current state of contamination,pollutant remediation and the regulation control of the anthropogenic activities in Wanshan are urgently needed.Bayou Adlane Zhidong Xu Xiaohang Xu Longchao Liang Jialiang Han Guangle Qiu 2020Acta Geochimica2020,39,1:5

10Experimental and Modeling Study of the Regular Polygon Angle-spiral Liner in Ball Mills显示文摘Load behavior is one of the most critical factors affecting mills' energy consumption and grinding efficiency,and is greatly affected by the liner profiles. Generally, as liner profiles vary, the ball mill performances are extremely different. In order to study the performance of the ball mill with regular polygon angle-spiral liners(RPASLs), experimental and numerical studies on three types of RPASLs, including regular quadrilateral, pentagonal and hexagonal, are carried out. For the fine product of desired size, two critical parameters are analyzed: the energy input to the mill per unit mass of the fine product, E*, and the rate of production of the fine product, F*. Results show that the optimal structure of RPASLs is Quadrilateral ASL with an assembled angle of 50°. Under this condition, the specific energy consumption E* has the minimum value of 303 J per fine product and the production rate F* has the maximum value of 0.323. The production rate F* in the experimental result is consistent with the specific collision energy intensity to total collision energy intensity ratio E_s/E_t in the simulation. The relations between the production rate F* and the specific energy consumption E* with collision energy intensity E_s and E_t are obtained. 11Testing and Improving the Performance of the Common Land Model:A Case Study for the Gobi Landscape显示文摘Land surface processes take place on the interface between the earth and atmosphere, exerting significant influences on the weather and climate. Correct modeling of these processes is important to numerical weather forecast and climate prediction. In order to obtain a more thorough understanding of the land surface processes over the Gobi landscape, we evaluated the performance of the Common Land Model(Co LM) at Dunhuang station in Gansu Province of China to determine whether the model formulation, driven by observational data, is capable of simulating surface fluxes over the underlying desert surface. In comparison with the enhanced observation data collected at Dunhuang station over the period 22–28 August 2008, the results showed that the surface albedo simulated by Co LM was larger than that in the observation, and the simulated surface temperature was lower than the observed. After the measured values were used to correct the surface albedo, the solar radiation absorbed by the ground surface was more consistent with the measurements. A new empirical relationship of the surface thermal exchange coefficient rah was used to modify the thermal aerodynamic impedance. 12Mutant p53 increases exosome-mediated transfer of mi R-21-3p and mi R-769-3p to promote pulmonary metastasis显示文摘Objective: Tumor metastasis is a complex, multistep process that depends on tumor cells and their communication with the tumor microenvironment. A p53 gain-of-function mutant has been shown to enhance the tumorigenesis, invasion, and metastasis abilities of tumor cells. This study aimed to investigate the roles of p53 R273 H mutation in the tumor microenvironment.Methods: The in vitro and in vivo effects of the p53 R273 H mutant on the invasion and metastasis of HCT116 cells were investigated. Exosomes from wild-type and HCT116-TP53(R273 H) cells were cocultured with mouse embryonic fibroblasts(MEFs). The roles of differentially expressed exosomal micro RNAs identified by microarray analysis were investigated. The functions of the p53 R273 H mutant in tumor cells were also investigated via gene expression microarray and quantitative polymerase chain reaction(q PCR) analyses.Results: Introducing p53 R273 H mutant into HCT116 cells significantly potentiated pulmonary metastasis in vivo. In the presence of exosomes derived from HCT116-TP53(R273 H) cells, the exosomes were taken up by MEFs and became activated. Microarray analysis showed that the p53 R273 H mutation increased the exosomal levels of mi R-21-3 p and mi R-769-3 p. Intriguingly, in clinical samples, mi R-21-3 p and mi R-769-3 p levels were significantly higher in patients with a p53 mutation than in those without this mutation. Furthermore, both mi R-21-3 p and mi R-769-3 p activated fibroblasts and exerted a synergistic effect via their target genes on the transforming growth factor-β(TGF-β)/Smad signaling pathway. The activated fibroblasts excreted cytokine TGF-β and may have reciprocally induced cancer cells to undergo epithelial-mesenchymal transition(EMT). Indeed, HCT116-TP53(R273 H) cells showed increased expression of ZEB1 and SNAI2 and decreased transcription of several cell adhesion molecules.Conclusions: The mutant p53-exosomal mi R-21-3 p/mi R-769-3 p-fibroblast-cytokine circuit appears to be responsible for communication between tumor and stromal cells, with exosomal mi RNAs acting as a bridge. mi R-21-3 p and mi R-769-3 p are potential predictive markers of pulmonary metastasis and candidate targets for therapeutic interventions.Qiang Ju Lina Zhao Jiajia Gao Lanping Zhou Yang Xu Yulin Sun Xiaohang Zhao 2019Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2019,31,3:4
13Assessment of introduced Kappaphycus (Solieriaceae, Rhodophyta) species relationships in China with molecular markers显示文摘Due to morphological plasticity and paucity of diagnostic morphological characters, the taxonomy of Kappaphycus gets more and more confused with the expanding of commercial cultivation. In this study, the phylogenetic relationship of 13 strains of introduced Kappaphycus species in China was defined using DNA molecular markers, such as 18S rDNA, rbcL and cox2-cox3 spacer region. The resolutions obtained by three different molecular markers were compared: both cox2-cox3 spacer region and rbcL sequences are eligible in interspecies identification of Kappaphycus, whereas cox2-cox3 spacer region is more variable than rbcL sequence. There is several basepairs' discrepancy among 18S rDNA sequences, while it is 100% identical among both cox2-cox3 spacer region and rbcL sequences of the ten strains of K. alvarezii. 14Chemical characterization and sources of PM2.5 at 12-h resolution in Guiyang, China显示文摘The increasing emission of primary and gaseous precursors of secondarily formed atmospheric particulate matter due to continuing industrial development and urbanization are leading to an increased public awareness of environmental issues and human health risks in China.As part of a pilot study, 12-h integrated fine fraction particulate matter(PM_(2.5) filter samples were collected to chemically characterize and investigate the sources of ambient particulate matter in Guiyang City, Guizhou Province, southwestern China. Results showed that the 12-h integrated PM_(2.5) concentrations exhibited a daytime average of 51 ± 22 lg m^(-3)(mean ± standard deviation) with a range of 17–128 lg m^(-3) and a nighttime average of55 ± 32 lg m~(^(-3)) with a range of 4–186 lg m^(-3). The 24-h integrated PM_(2.5) concentrations varied from 15 to157 lg m~(^(-3)), with a mean value of 53 ± 25 lg m^(-3), which exceeded the 24-h PM_(2.5) standard of 35 lg m^(-3) set by USEPA, but was below the standard of 75 lg m^(-3), set by China Ministry of Environmental Protection. Energy-dispersive X-ray fluorescence spectrometry(XRF) was applied to determine PM_(2.5) chemical element concentrations. The order of concentrations of heavy metals in PM_(2.5) were iron(Fe) [ zinc(Zn) [ manganese(Mn) [ lead(Pb) [ arsenic(As) [ chromium(Cr). The total concentration of 18 chemical elements was 13 ± 2 lg m^(-3),accounting for 25% in PM_(2.5), which is comparable to other major cities in China, but much higher than cities outside of China.Longchao Liang Na Liu Matthew S. 15Screening and Characterization of the Alkaline Protease Isolated from PLI-1, a Strain of Brevibacillus sp. Collected from Indonesia's Hot Springs显示文摘A total of 69 strains of thermophilic bacteria were isolated from water, soil and sediment samples from three Indonesia's hot spring areas (Pantai cermin, Kalianda and Banyu wedang) by using Minimal Synthetic Medium (MSM). The extreme thermophile Brevibacillus sp. PLI-1 was found to produce extracellular thermophilic alkaline protease with optimal activity at 70℃ and pH 8.0-9.0. The molecular weight of the protease was estimated to be around 56 kD by SDS-PAGE. The maximum activity of the protease was 26.54 U mL-1. The protease activity did not decrease after 30 min and still retained more than 70% of relative activity after 60 min at 70℃ and pH 8.0. The ion Mg2+ was found to promote protease activity at both low and high concentrations, whereas Cu2+ and Zn2+ could almost completely inhibit the activity. Divalent cation chelator EDTA inhibited the enzyme activity by 55.06% ± 0.27%, while the inhibition caused by PMSF, Leupeptin, Pepstain A and Benzamidine were 66.78% ± 3.25%, 52.37% ± 0.25%, 62.47% ± 2.96% and 50.99% ± 0.24%, respectively. Based on these observations, the enzyme activity was conspicuously sensitive to the serine and cysteine protease inhibitors. 16Engineering Cu^(+)/CeZrO_(x) interfaces to promote CO_(2) hydrogenation to methanol显示文摘Cu-based catalysts are widely employed for CO_(2) hydrogenation to methanol,which is expected as a promising process to achieving carbon neutrality.However,most Cu-based catalysts still suffer from low methanol yield with a passable CO_(2) conversion and lack insight into its reaction mechanism for guiding the design of catalysts.In this work,Cu^(+)/CeZrO_(x) interfaces are engineered by employing a series of ceria-zirconia solid solution catalysts with various Ce/Zr ratios,forming a Cu^(+)-O_(v)-Ce^(3+)structure where Cu^(+)atoms are bonded to the oxygen vacancies(O_(v))of ceria.Compared to Cu/CeO_(2) and Cu/ZrO_(2),the optimized catalyst(i.e.,Cu_(0.3)Ce_(0.3)Zr_(0.7))exhibits a much higher mass-specific methanol formation rate(192g_(MeOH)/kg_(cat)/h)at 240℃and 3 MPa.Through a series of in-situ and ex-situ characterization,it is revealed that oxygen vacancies in solid solutions can effectively assist the activation of CO_(2) and tune the electronic state of copper to promote the formation of Cu^(+)/CeZrO_(x) interfaces,which stabilizes the key*CO intermediate,inhibits its desorption and facilitates its further hydrogenation to methanol via the reverse watergas-shift(RWGS)+CO-Hydro pathway.Therefore,the concentration of*CO or the apparent Cu^(+)/(Cu^(+)+Cu^(0))ratio could be employed as a quantitative descriptor of the methanol formation rate.This work is expected to give a deep insight into the mechanism of metal/support interfaces in CO_(2) hydrogenation to methanol,offering an effective strategy to develop new catalysts with high performance.Jingpeng Zhang Xiaohang Sun Congyi Wu Wenquan Hang Xu Hu Dawei Qiao Binhang Yan 2023Journal of Energy Chemistry2023,,2:3
17Molecular characterization of circulating tumor cells in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma:potential diagnostic and prognostic significance in clinical practice显示文摘Background:The clinical value of heterogeneous sub-populations of circulating tumor cells(CTCs)in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma(PDAC)remains unclear.Methods:Peripheral blood samples were obtained from 67 PDAC patients.CTCs were isolated by employing CD45 negative enrichment technique and further characterized for epithelial to mesenchymal transition(EMT)or human equilibrative nucleoside transporter-1(hENT-1).The relationships between CTCs sub-phenotypes with clinicopathological factors or post-operative recurrence in PDAC patients were analyzed.Results:EMT related CTCs could be isolated and identified from the 81%of patients(54/67),and both the total count(median:5 vs.17/mL,P<0.0001)and M-CTC percentage(median:0.2 vs.0.345,P=0.0244)of CTCs could differentiate local/regional with metastatic disease.Multivariate analysis showed that both AJCC stage(P=0.025)and M-CTC percentage(P=0.001)were independent prognostic indicators of recurrence free survival(RFS)in resected patients.Moreover,Kaplan-Meier survival analysis showed that M-CTC after 2 courses of chemotherapy was significantly associated with inferior RFS(49.5 weeks vs.undefined,P=0.0288).No significant correlation in hENT-1 expression was found between CTCs and matched tumor tissues,and further multivariate analysis suggested hENT-1 expression in CTCs as independent prognostic factor for RFS(P=0.016).Patients with low hENT-1 expression in CTCs had decreased RFS(32 weeks vs.undefined,P=0.0337).Conclusions:CTCs could be the promising diagnostic biomarkers in PDAC patients,and phenotypic profiling of CTCs based on EMT or hENT-1 could help establish novel prognostic biomarkers in resected patients undergoing adjuvant gemcitabine-based chemotherapy.Xudong Zhao Yongsu Ma Xiu Dong Zhengkui Zhang Xiaodong Tian Xiaohang Zhao Yinmo Yang 2021Hepatobiliary Surgery and Nutrition2021,10,6:3
18Effects of electronically stimulating Tianshu(ST 25) and Dachangshu(BL 25), Quchi(LI 11) and Shangjuxu(ST 37) on the expressions of jejunum c-kit protein and c-kit m RNA in rats with functional diarrhea显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effects of electronically stimulating Tianshu(ST 25) and Dachangshu(BL 25), Quchi(LI 11) and Shangjuxu(ST 37) on the jejunum c-kit protein and c-kit m RNA in rats with functional diarrhea(FD).METHODS: FD models were established through intragastric administration with folium sennae. Experimental rats were then divided into 4 groups:blank group, model group, electroacupuncture group Ⅰ [Tianshu(ST 25) and Dachangshu(BL 25)of both sides] and electroacupuncture group Ⅱ [Quchi(Li 11) and Shangjuxu(ST 37) ofboth sides], 10 in each. After treatment with electroacupuncture for 10 days, The expressions of jejunum c-kit protein and c-kit m RNA in each group were detected with Western blot and Real-Time quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction(PCR).RESULTS: The expressions of c-kit protein and c-kit m RNA in the model group increased significantly compared to those in the blank group(P < 0.01);the expressions in electroacupuncture group Ⅰsignificantly decreased compared to those in the model group(P < 0.01).CONCLUSION: Our findings suggest that electronically stimulating both Tianshu(ST 25) and Dachangshu(BL 25) significantly increased the expressions of jejunum c-kit protein and c-kit m RNA in FD rats, which means the treatment might have better therapeutic effects on FD.Wang Yuan Niu Wenmin Yang Xiaohang Liu Na Liu Zhibin 2016Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2016,36,6:3

20Sensor Fault Estimation and Fault-Tolerant Control for a Class of Takagi-Sugeno Markovian Jump Systems with Partially Unknown Transition Rates Based on the Reduced-Order Observer显示文摘This paper addresses the problem on sensor fault estimation and fault-tolerant control for a class of Takagi-Sugeno Markovian jump systems,which are subjected to sensor faults and partially unknown transition rates.First,the original plant is extended to a descriptor system,where the original states and the sensor faults are assembled into the new state vector.Then,a novel reduced- order observer is designed for the extended system to simultaneously estimate the immeasurable states and sensor faults.Second,by using the estimated states obtained from the designed observer,a state- feedback fault-tolerant control strategy is developed to make the resulting closed-loop control system stochastically stable.Based on linear matrix inequality technique,algorithms are presented to compute the observer gains and control gains.The effectiveness of the proposed observer and controller are validated by a numerical example and a compared study,respectively,and the simulation results reveal that the proposed method can successfully estimate the sensor faults and guarantee the stochastic stability of the resulting closed-loop system.LI Xiaohang LU Dunke ZHANG Wei ZHU Fanglai 2018Journal of Systems Science & Complexity2018,31,6:3
