1Laparoscopic Partial Nephrectomy With Segmental Renal Artery Clamping:Technique and Clinical Outcomes显示文摘Background:Warm ischemic injury is one of the most important factors affecting renal function in partial nephrectomy(PN).The technique of segmental renal artery clamping emerges as an alternative to conventional renal artery clamping for renal hilar control.Objective:To evaluate the feasibility and efficiency of laparoscopic PN(LPN) with segmental renal artery clamping in comparison with the conventional technique.Design,setting,and participants:A total of 75 patients underwent LPN from June 2007 to November 2009.All patients had T1a or T1b tumor in one kidney and a normal contralateral kidney.Thirty-seven patients underwent surgeries with main renal artery clamping,and 38 underwent surgeries with segmental artery clamping.Intervention:All procedures were performed by the same laparoscopic surgeon.Measurements:Blood loss,operation time,warm ischemia(WI) time,and complications affected renal function before and after operation were recorded.Results and limitations:All LPNs were completed without conversion to open surgery or nephrectomy.The novel technique slightly increased WI time(p < 0.001) and intraoperative blood loss(p = 0.006),while it provided better postoperative affected renal function(p < 0.001) compared with the conventional technique.The total complication rate was 12%.Among the 38 cases where segmental renal artery clamping was performed,7 had to convert to the conventional method.Tumor size and location influenced the number of clamped segmental arteries.Long-term postoperative renal function is still awaited.Conclusions:LPN with segmental artery clamping is safe and feasible in clinical practice.It minimizes the intraoperative WI injury and improves early postoperative affected renal function compared with main renal artery clamping.(C) 2010 European Association of Urology.Published by Elsevier B.V.All rights reserved.Shao,P.F. 2Backfilling technology and strata behaviors in fully mechanized coal mining working face显示文摘Based on the principle of fully mechanized backfilling and coal mining technology and combined with the Xingtai Coal Mine conditions,we mainly optimized the coal mining equipment and adjusted the coal mining method in the Xingtai Coal Mine 7606 working face for implementation this technology.Firstly,we define the practical backfilling process as the ''(from backfilling scraper conveyor's) head to tail backfilling,step by step swinging up of the tamping arm,gradual compacting,moving formed backfilling scraper conveyor when the second tamping arm cannot pass and connecting the immediate roof by back material push front material movement''.Meanwhile,the stress changes of backfill body in coal mined out area was monitored by stress sensors,and the roof caving law was analyzed by monitoring the dynamic subsidence of à210 west roadway of this face.The site tests results show that using this new backfilling and coal mining integrated technology,the production capacity in the 7606 working face can reach to 283,000 ton a year,and 282,000 ton of solid materials(waste and fly ash) is backfilled,which meets the needs of high production and efficiency.The goaf was compactly backfilled with solid material and the strata behavior was quite desirable,with an actual maximum vertical stress of the backfill body of 5.5 MPa.Backfill body control the movement of overburden within a certain range,and there is no collapses of major areas in the overlying strata upon backfilled gob.The maximum subsidence and speed were 231 mm and 15.75 mm/d respectively,which proved the practical significance of this integrated technology.Zhang Qiang Zhang Jixiong Huang Yanli Ju Feng 2012International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2012,22,2:55
3The 1997-1998 warm event in the South China Sea显示文摘A strong warm event happens during spring 1997 to spring 1999 in the South China Sea. Its intensity and duration show that it is the strongest event on the record over the past decades. It also corresponds with the severe flood over the valley of the Yangtze River and a couple of marine environmental events. This note addressed the evolution process by using several data sets, such as sea surface temperature, height and wind stress in addition to subsurface temperature. The onset of the warm event almost tele-connects with the El Nino event in the tropical Pacific Ocean. Summer monsoon is stronger and winter monsoon is weaker in 1997 so that there are persistent westerly anomalies in the South China Sea. During the development phase, the warm advection caused by southerly anomalies is the major factor while the adjustment of the thermocline is not obvious. 4Field-observation for an anticyclonic mesoscale eddy consisted of twelve gliders and sixty-two expendable probes in the northern South China Sea during summer 2017显示文摘An intensive field observation experiment using 12 Chinese gliders equipped with conductivity-temperature-depth (CTD) sensors and 62 expendable CTD probes (XCTDs) was performed to investigate the 3-D structure and time evolution of an anticyclonic eddy in the northern South China Sea (NSCS). The observed results showed that the anticyclonic eddy had a horizontal radius of about 80 km at surface and a vertical depth of impact of more than 1000 m. The largest temperature and salinity anomalies compared with the averaged values of the temperature and salinity profiles were 3.5°C and 0.4 psu at 120 m depth, respectively. Combined analysis of altimeter sea level and water mass properties indicated that the anticyclonic eddy was shed from the Kuroshio loop current. The vertical axis of the anticyclonic eddy tilted from surface to the observed maximum depth (1000 m) along its translation direction against the 2000 m isobath. The center of the anticyclonic eddy remained in the region east of Dongsha Island for more than half a month. During this time, the long axis direction of the eddy changed from across the slope to along the slope. Then, the eddy moved southward along the 2000 m isobaths. Both the geostrophic current and temperature distribution revealed that the eddy intensity weakened during the observation period gradually. 6Effectiveness of Different Waist Circumference Cut-off Values in Predicting Metabolic Syndrome Prevalence and Risk Factors in Adults in China显示文摘Objective To study the effectiveness of waist circumference cut-off values in predicting the prevalence of metabolic syndrome(MetS) and risk factors in adults in China. Methods A cross-sectional survey was condcuted in 14 provinces(autonomous region, municipality) in China. A total of 47 325 adults aged ≥20 years were selected by multistage stratified sampling, and questionnaire survey and physical and clinical examination were conducted among them. MetS was defined according to the International Diabetes Federation(IDF) criteria and modified IDF criteria.Results The age-standardized prevalence of MetS was 24.2%(22.1% in men and 25.8% in women) and 19.5%(22.1% in men and 18.0% in women) according to the IDF criteria and modified IDF criteria respectively. The age-standardized prevalence of pre-MetS was 8.1%(8.6% in men and 7.8% in women) according to the modified IDF criteria. The prevalence of MetS was higher in urban residents than rural residents and in northern China residents than in southern China residents. The prevalence of central obesity was about 30% in both men and women according to the ethnicity-specific cut-off values of waist circumference for central obesity(90 cm for men and 85 cm for women). Multivariate regression analysis revealed no significant difference in risk factors between the two MetS definitions. 8Insight-HXMT observations of the first binary neutron star merger GW170817显示文摘Finding the electromagnetic(EM) counterpart of binary compact star merger, especially the binary neutron star(BNS) merger,is critically important for gravitational wave(GW) astronomy, cosmology and fundamental physics. On Aug. 17, 2017,Advanced LIGO and Fermi/GBM independently triggered the first BNS merger, GW170817, and its high energy EM counterpart,GRB 170817 A, respectively, resulting in a global observation campaign covering gamma-ray, X-ray, UV, optical, IR, radio as well as neutrinos. The High Energy X-ray telescope(HE) onboard Insight-HXMT(Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope) is the unique high-energy gamma-ray telescope that monitored the entire GW localization area and especially the optical counterpart(SSS17 a/AT2017 gfo) with very large collection area(~1000 cm^2) and microsecond time resolution in 0.2-5 MeV. In addition,Insight-HXMT quickly implemented a Target of Opportunity(ToO) observation to scan the GW localization area for potential X-ray emission from the GW source. Although Insight-HXMT did not detect any significant high energy(0.2-5 MeV) radiation from GW170817, its observation helped to confirm the unexpected weak and soft nature of GRB 170817 A. Meanwhile,Insight-HXMT/HE provides one of the most stringent constraints(~10^(-7) to 10^(-6) erg/cm^2/s) for both GRB170817 A and any other possible precursor or extended emissions in 0.2-5 MeV, which help us to better understand the properties of EM radiation from this BNS merger. 10Vertical transportation system of solid material for backfilling coal mining technology显示文摘For transportation of solid backfill material such as waste and fly ash from the surface to the bottom of the shaft in a fully mechanized backfilling coal backfilling coal mining technology, we developed a new vertical transportation system to transport this type of solid backfill material. Given the demands imposed on safely in feeding this material, we also investigated the structure and basic parameter of this system. For a mine in the Xingtai mining area the results show that: (1) a vertical transportation system should include three main parts, i.e., a feeding borehole, a maintenance chamber and a storage silo; (2) we determined that 486 mm is a suitable diameter for bore holes, the diameter of the storage silo is 6 m and its height 30 m in this vertical transportation system; (3) a conical buffer was developed to absorb the impact during the feeding process. To ensure normal implementation of fully mechanized backfilling coal mining technology and the safety of underground personnel, we propose a series of security technologies for anti-blockage, storage silo cleaning, high pressure air release and aspiration. 12Application of deep learning in ecological resource research:Theories, methods, and challenges显示文摘Ecological resources are an important material foundation for the survival,development,and self-realization of human beings.In-depth and comprehensive research and understanding of ecological resources are beneficial for the sustainable development of human society.Advances in observation technology have improved the ability to acquire long-term,cross-scale,massive,heterogeneous,and multi-source data.Ecological resource research is entering a new era driven by big data.Traditional statistical learning and machine learning algorithms have problems with saturation in dealing with big data.Deep learning is a method for automatically extracting complex high-dimensional nonlinear features,which is increasingly used for scientific and industrial data processing because of its ability to avoid saturation with big data.To promote the application of deep learning in the field of ecological resource research,here,we first introduce the relationship between deep learning theory and research on ecological resources,common tools,and datasets.Second,applications of deep learning in classification and recognition,detection and localization,semantic segmentation,instance segmentation,and graph neural network in typical spatial discrete data are presented through three cases:species classification,crop breeding,and vegetation mapping.Finally,challenges and opportunities for the application of deep learning in ecological resource research in the era of big data are summarized by considering the characteristics of ecological resource data and the development status of deep learning.It is anticipated that the cooperation and training of cross-disciplinary talents may promote the standardization and sharing of ecological resource data,improve the universality and interpretability of algorithms,and enrich applications with the development of hardware.Qinghua GUO Shichao JIN Min LI Qiuli YANG Kexin XU Yuanzhen JU Jing ZHANG Jing XUAN Jin LIU Yanjun SU Qiang XU Yu LIU 2020Science China Earth Sciences2020,63,10:7
13Toxicity of Multi-Walled Carbon Nanotubes,Graphene Oxide,and Reduced Graphene Oxide to Zebrafish Embryos显示文摘Objective This study was aimed to investigate the toxic effects of 3 nanomaterials, i.e. multi-walled carbon nanotubes(MWCNTs), graphene oxide(GO), and reduced graphene oxide(RGO), on zebrafish embryos. Methods The 2-h post-fertilization(hpf) zebrafish embryos were exposed to MWCNTs, GO, and RGO at different concentrations(1, 5, 10, 50, 100 mg/L) for 96 h. Afterwards, the effects of the 3 nanomateria on spontaneous movement, heart rate, hatching rate, length of larvae, mortality, and malformations ls were evaluated. Results Statistical analysis indicated that RGO significantly inhibited the hatching of zebrafish embryos. Furthermore, RGO and MWCNTs decreased the length of the hatched larvae at 96 hpf. No obvious morphological malformation or mortality was observed in the zebrafish embryos after exposure to the three nanomaterials. Conclusion MWCNTs, GO, and RGO were all toxic to zebrafish embryos to influence embryos hatching and larvae length. 15Geohazard Recognition and Inventory Mapping Using Airborne LiDAR Data in Complex Mountainous Areas显示文摘Geohazard recognition and inventory mapping are absolutely the keys to the establishment of reliable susceptibility and hazard maps. However, it has been challenging to implement geohazards recognition and inventory mapping in mountainous areas with complex topography and vegetation cover. Progress in the light detection and ranging(Li DAR) technology provides a new possibility for geohazard recognition in such areas. Specifically, this study aims to evaluate the performances of the Li DAR technology in recognizing geohazard in the mountainous areas of Southwest China through visually analyzing airborne Li DAR DEM derivatives. Quasi-3 D relief image maps are generated based on the sky-view factor(SVF), which makes it feasible to interpret precisely the features of geohazard. A total of 146 geohazards are remotely mapped in the entire 135 km^(2) study area in Danba County, Southwest China, and classified as landslide, rock fall, debris flow based on morphologic characteristics interpreted from SVF visualization maps. Field validation indicate the success rate of Li DAR-derived DEM in recognition and mapping geohazard with higher precision and accuracy. These mapped geohazards lie along both sides of the river, and their spatial distributions are related highly to human engineering activities, such as road excavation and slope cutting. The minimum geohazard that can be recognized in the 0.5 m resolution DEM is about 900 m^(2). Meanwhile, the SVF visualization method is demonstrated to be a great alternative to the classical hillshaded DEM method when it comes to the determination of geomorphological properties of geohazard. 16Progress on deep circulation and meridional overturning circulation in the South China Sea显示文摘The deep overflow through the Luzon Strait drives the cyclonic deep circulation in the South China Sea(SCS). In the mean time, the intruding Pacific deep water transforms and upwells due to enhanced diapycnal mixing in the SCS. Both processes greatly contribute to the SCS meridional overturning circulation(SCSMOC). At the same time, both the deep circulation and meridional overturning circulation are modulated by rough topography in the SCS. Furthermore, the spatial structure of the SCSMOC infers a link between the upper-layer circulation and deep circulation in the SCS. 17Multitemporal UAV-based photogrammetry for landslide detection and monitoring in a large area:a case study in the Heifangtai terrace in the Loess Plateau of China显示文摘With high spatial resolution,on-demand-flying ability,and the capacity for obtaining threedimensional measurements,unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV)photogrammetry is widely used for detailed investigations of single landslides,but its effectiveness for landslide detection and monitoring in a large area needs to be investigated.The Heifangtai terrace in the Loess Plateau of China is a loess terrace that is extremely susceptible to irrigation-induced loess landslides.This paper used UAV-based photogrammetry for a series of highresolution images spanning over 30 months for landslide detection and monitoring of the terrace with an area of 32 km^2.Dense and evenly distributed ground control points were established and measured to ensure the high accuracy of the photogrammetry results.The structure-from-motion(Sf M)technique was used to convert overlapping images into orthographic images,3D point clouds,digital surface models(DSMs)and mesh models.Using multitemporal differential mesh models,landslide vertical movements and potential landslides were detected and monitored.The results indicate that a combination of UAV-based orthophotos and differential mesh models can be used for flexible and accurate detection and monitoring of potential loess landslides in a large area.XU Qiang LI Wei-le JU Yuan-zhen DONG Xiu-jun PENG Da-lei 2020Journal of Mountain Science2020,17,8:5
18GABA stimulates human hepatocellular carcinoma growth through overexpressed GABAA receptor theta subunit显示文摘AIM: To investigate the function of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) and gamma-aminobutyric acid A receptor θ subunit (GABRQ) in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). METHODS: Semiquantitative polymerase chain reaction was used for detecting the expression of GABRQ receptor among HCC cell line HepG2, normal liver cell line L-02, non-malignant Chang's liver cells, 8 samples of HCC tissues and paired non-cancerous tissues. HepG2 cells were treated with GABA at serial concentrations (0, 1, 10, 20, 40 and 60 μmol/L), and their proliferating abilities were analyzed with the methyl thiazolyl tetrazolium assay, cell cycle analysis and tumor implanted in nude mice. Small interfering RNA was used for knocking down the endogenous GABRQ in HepG2. Proliferating abilities of these cells treated with or without GABA were analyzed. RESULTS: We identified the overexpression of GABRQ in HCC cell lines and half of the tested HCC tissues. Knockdown of endogenous GABRQ expression in HepG2 attenuated HCC cell growth, suggesting its role in HCC cell viability. We studied the effect of GABA in the proliferation of GABRQ-positive cell lines in vitro and in vivo , and found that GABA increased HCC growth in a dosedependent manner. Notably, the addition of GABA into the cell culture medium promoted the proliferation of GABRQ-expressing HepG2 cells, but not GABRQ-knockdown HepG2 cells, which means that GABA stimulates HepG2 cell growth through GABRQ.
