1Geochemical Characteristics of Selenium and Its Correlation to Other Elements and Minerals in Selenium-Enriched Rocks in Ziyang County,Shaanxi Province,China显示文摘Ziyang County, Shaanxi Province, China is a world known selenium(Se)-enriched area, and a severe selenosis incident was reported in Naore Village during the 1990 s. This study investigated the geochemical characteristics of Se and its fractions in Se-enriched rocks from Ziyang. Se distribution is uneven, ranging from 0.23 to 57.00 μg/g(17.29±15.52 μg/g). Se content is higher in slate than chert, and even lower in carbonate rocks. Cd, As and V are enriched but Pb is depleted in Se-enriched strata. Se has different correlations both with TS(total sulfur)(R^2=0.59 for chert) and TC(total carbon)(R^2=0.77 for slate, R^2=0.87 for carbonate). Se has significant positive correlations with V(r=0.65), As(r=0.485), Cd(r=0.459) and Pb(r=0.405). The Se level correlates with mineral content, positively with pyrite, chlorite and illite, negatively with albite. Se associated with sulfide/selenide and elemental Se are the predominant fractions of total recovered Se, suggesting that a reducing environment and the formation of sulfides were significant to Se deposition during its geochemical cycle. 2Detecting human-object interaction with multi-level pairwise feature network显示文摘Human–object interaction(HOI)detection is crucial for human-centric image understanding which aims to infer human,action,object triplets within an image.Recent studies often exploit visual features and the spatial configuration of a human–object pair in order to learn the action linking the human and object in the pair.We argue that such a paradigm of pairwise feature extraction and action inference can be applied not only at the whole human and object instance level,but also at the part level at which a body part interacts with an object,and at the semantic level by considering the semantic label of an object along with human appearance and human–object spatial configuration,to infer the action.We thus propose a multi-level pairwise feature network(PFNet)for detecting human–object interactions.The network consists of three parallel streams to characterize HOI utilizing pairwise features at the above three levels;the three streams are finally fused to give the action prediction.Extensive experiments show that our proposed PFNet outperforms other state-of-the-art methods on the VCOCO dataset and achieves comparable results to the state-of-the-art on the HICO-DET dataset.Hanchao Liu Tai-Jiang Mu Xiaolei Huan 2021Computational Visual Media2021,7,2:2
3ATP1B3 Restricts Hepatitis B Virus Replication Via Reducing the Expression of the Envelope Proteins显示文摘Our recent study reported that ATP1B3 inhibits hepatitis B virus(HBV)replication via inducing NF-κB activation.However,ATP1B3 mutants which were defective in NF-κB activation still maintained the moderate degree of suppression on HBV replication,suggesting that another uncharacterized mechanism is also responsible for ATP1B3-mediated HBV suppression.Here,we demonstrated that ATP1B3 reduced the expression of HBV envelope proteins LHBs,MHBs and SHBs,but had no effect on intracellular HBV DNA,RNA levels as well as HBV promoter activities.Further investigation showed that proteasome inhibitor MG132 rescued ATP1B3-mediated envelope proteins degradation,demonstrating that proteasome-dependent pathway is involved in ATP1B3-induced degradation of envelope proteins.Co-IP showed that ATP1B3 interacts with LHBs and MHBs and induces LHBs and MHBs polyubiquitination.Immunofluorescence colocalization analysis confirmed LHBs and MHBs colocalized with ATP1B3 together.Our work provides important information for targeting ATP1B3 as a potential therapeutic molecule for HBV infection.Jun Zhang Tianhang Zheng Xiaolei Zhou Hong Wang Zhaolong Li Chen Huan Baisong Zheng Wenyan Zhang 2021Virologica Sinica2021,36,4:1
4Microwave-assisted catalyst-free hydrolysis of fibrous cellulose for deriving sugars and biochemicals显示文摘Microwave(MW)assisted catalyst-free hydrolysis of fibrous cellulose(FC,cellulolysis)at 200℃promoted a cellulose conversion o f ca.37.2%and quantitative production o f valuable C5/C6 sugars(e.g.,glucose)and the according platform biochemicals(e.g.,5-hydroxymethylfurfliral),corresponding to an overall selectivity o f 96.5%.Conversely,conventional hydrothermal cellulolysis under similar conditions was not effective,even after 24 h,carbonising the FC.Based on the systematic study of MW-assisted cellulolysis,the specific interaction between water molecules and macroscopic FC under the MW irradiation was proposed,accounting for the interpretation o f the experimental observation.The kinetic energy o f water molecules under the MW irradiation facilitated the C-C(in the non-hindered surface-CH2OH groups)and C-O-C bond breaking(inside the cellulose cavities)in FC,producing primary cellulolysis products of xylose,glucose and cellobiose.Songshan Jiang Helen Daly Huan Xiang Ying Yan Huiping Zhang Christopher Hardacre Xiaolei Fan 2019Frontiers of Chemical Science and Engineering2019,13,4:1
5Enhancement of silicon sub‑bandgap photodetection by helium‑ion implantation显示文摘Silicon sub-bandgap photodetectors can detect light at the infrared telecommunication wavelengths but with relatively weak photo-response.In this work,we demonstrate the enhancement of sub-bandgap photodetection in silicon by helium-ion implantation,without afecting the transparency that is an important benefcial feature of this type of photodetectors.With an implantation dose of 1×10^(13)ions/cm^(2),the minimal detectable optical power can be improved from−33.2 to−63.1 dBm,or,by 29.9 dB,at the wavelength of 1550 nm,and the photo-response at the same optical power(−10 dBm)can be enhanced by approximately 18.8 dB.Our work provides a method for strategically modifying the intrinsic trade-of between transparency and strong photo-responses of this type of photodetectors.Zhao Wang Xiaolei Wen Kai Zou Yun Meng Jinwei Zeng Jian Wang Huan Hu Xiaolong Hu 2023Frontiers of Optoelectronics2023,16,4:0
6A Coastal Zone Segmentation Variational Model and Its Accelerated ADMM Method显示文摘Effective and efficient SAR image segmentation has a significant role in coastal zone interpretation. In this paper, a coastal zone segmentation model is proposed based on Potts model. By introducing edge self-adaption parameter and modifying noisy data term, the proposed variational model provides a good solution for the coastal zone SAR image with common characteristics of inherent speckle noise and complicated geometrical details. However, the proposed model is difficult to solve due to to its nonlinear, non-convex and non-smooth characteristics. Followed by curve evolution theory and operator splitting method, the minimization problem is reformulated as a constrained minimization problem. A fast alternating minimization iterative scheme is designed to implement coastal zone segmentation. 7Tuning porosity of coal-derived activated carbons for CO_(2) adsorption显示文摘A simple method was developed to tune the porosity of coal-derived activated carbons,which provided a model adsorbent system to investigate the volumetric CO_(2)adsorption performance.Specifically,the method involved the variation of the activation temperature in a K2CO3 induced chemical activation process which could yield activated carbons with defined microporous(<2 nm,including ultra-microporous<1 nm)and meso-microporous structures.CO_(2)adsorption isotherms revealed that the microporous activated carbon has the highest measured CO_(2)adsorption capacity(6.0 mmol∙g^(–1)at 0℃and 4.1 mmol∙g^(-1)at 25℃),whilst ultra-microporous activated carbon with a high packing density exhibited the highest normalized capacity with respect to packing volume(1.8 mmol∙cm−3 at 0℃and 1.3 mmol∙cm^(–3)at 25℃),which is significant.Both experimental correlation analysis and molecular dynamics simulation demonstrated that(i)volumetric CO_(2)adsorption capacity is directly proportional to the ultra-micropore volume,and(ii)an increase in micropore sizes is beneficial to improve the volumetric capacity,but may lead a low CO_(2)adsorption density and thus low pore space utilization efficiency.The adsorption experiments on the activated carbons established the criterion for designing CO_(2)adsorbents with high volumetric adsorption capacity.Zhipeng Qie Lijie Wang Fei Sun Huan Xiang Hua Wang Jihui Gao Guangbo Zhao Xiaolei Fan 2022Frontiers of Chemical Science and Engineering2022,16,9:0
