1The Sunway TaihuLight supercomputer: system and applications显示文摘The Sunway Taihu Light supercomputer is the world's first system with a peak performance greater than 100 PFlops. In this paper, we provide a detailed introduction to the Taihu Light system. In contrast with other existing heterogeneous supercomputers, which include both CPU processors and PCIe-connected many-core accelerators(NVIDIA GPU or Intel Xeon Phi), the computing power of Taihu Light is provided by a homegrown many-core SW26010 CPU that includes both the management processing elements(MPEs)and computing processing elements(CPEs) in one chip. With 260 processing elements in one CPU, a single SW26010 provides a peak performance of over three TFlops. To alleviate the memory bandwidth bottleneck in most applications, each CPE comes with a scratch pad memory, which serves as a user-controlled cache. To support the parallelization of programs on the new many-core architecture, in addition to the basic C/C++and Fortran compilers, the system provides a customized Sunway Open ACC tool that supports the Open ACC2.0 syntax. 3Integration of a statistical emulator approach with the SCE-UA method for parameter optimization of a hydrological model显示文摘Parameter optimization of a hydrological model is an indispensable process within model development and application.The lack of knowledge regarding the efficient optimization of model parameters often results in a bottle-neck within the modeling process,resulting in the effective calibration and validation of distributed hydrological models being more difficult to achieve.The classical approaches to global parameter optimization are usually characterized by being time consuming,and having a high computation cost.For this reason,an integrated approach coupling a meta-modeling approach with the SCE-UA method was proposed,and applied within this study to optimize hydrological model parameter estimation.Meta-modeling was used to determine the optimization range for all parameters,following which the SCE-UA method was applied to achieve global parameter optimization.The multivariate regression adaptive splines method was used to construct the response surface as a surrogate model to a complex hydrological model.In this study,the daily distributed time-variant gain model(DTVGM) applied to the Huaihe River Basin,China,was chosen as a case study.The integrated objective function based on the water balance coefficient and the Nash-Sutcliffe coefficient was used to evaluate the model performance.The case study shows that the integrated method can efficiently complete the multi-parameter optimization process,and also demonstrates that the method is a powerful tool for efficient parameter optimization.SONG XiaoMeng ZHAN CheSheng XIA Jun 2012Chinese Science Bulletin2012,57,26:13

5Microstructural evolution of carbon fiber reinforced SiC-based matrix composites during laser ablation process显示文摘In this work, four different carbon fiber reinforced SiC-based matrix composites(C/SiC) were prepared,and microstructure evolution during laser ablation process was characterized. Laser irradiation provided a special high-temperature environment up to 3500℃. For all four composites, different morphologies can be obtained in the transition region due to the oxidation of different matrices. While only needle-shaped carbon fiber and nanolayered carbon without any matrix remained in the central region, indicating that graphitization process occurred in the center, resulting from the high-temperature and low-oxygen environment in the laser process. 6The structural characteristics, age of origin, and tectonic attribute of the Erguna Fault, NE China显示文摘The Erguna Fault runs along the east bank of the Erguna River in NE China and is a large-scale ductile shear zone comprising granitic mylonites. This paper reports on the geometry, kinematic indicators, and 40Ar/39 Ar biotite ages of the granitic mylonites, to constrain the structural characteristics, forming age, and tectonic attribute of the Erguna ductile shear zone. The zone strikes NE and records a top-to-the-NW sense of shear. A mylonitic foliation and stretching lineation are well developed in the mylonites, which are classified as S-L tectonites. Logarithmic flinn parameters(1.18–2.35) indicate elongate strain which approximates to plane strain. Kinematic vorticity numbers are 0.42–0.92 and 0.48–0.94, based on the polar Mohr diagram and the oblique foliation in quartz ribbons, respectively, suggesting that the ductile shear zone formed under general shear, or a combination of simple and pure shear. According to finite strain and kinematic vorticity analyses, the Erguna Fault is a lengthening-thinning ductile shear zone that formed by extension. The deformation behavior of minerals in the mylonites indicates that the fault was the site of three stages of deformation: an initial stage of middle- to deep-level, high-temperature shear, a post-stress recovery phase of high-temperature static recrystallization, and a final phase of low-temperature uplift and cooling. The 40Ar/39 Ar plateau ages of biotite from the granitic mylonites are 106.16 ± 0.79 and 111.55 ± 0.67 Ma, which constrain the timing of low-temperature uplift and cooling but are younger than the ages of metamorphic core complexes(MCCs) in the Transbaikalia-northeast Mongolia region. Using measured geological sections, microtectonics, estimates of finite strain and kinematic vorticity, and regional correlations and geochronology, we conclude that the Erguna Fault is an Early Cretaceous, NNE-trending, large-scale, sub-horizontal, and extensional ductile shear zone. It shares a similar tectonic background with the MCCs, volcanic fault basins, and large and super-large volcanic-hydrothermal deposits in Transbaikalia-northeast Mongolia and the western Great Khingan Mountains, all of which are the result of overthickened crust that gravitationally collapsed and extended in the Early Cretaceous after plate collision along the present-day Sino-Russia-Mongolia border tract.ZHENG Han SUN XiaoMeng ZHU DeFeng TIAN JingXiong HE Song WANG YingDe ZHANG XuQing 2015Science China Earth Sciences2015,58,9:3
7Ligand effects on arsenite removal by zero-valent iron/O2: Dissolution, corrosion, oxidation and coprecipitation显示文摘Ligands may increase the yields of reactive oxygen species(ROS)in zero-valent iron(ZVI)/O2 systems.To clarify the relationship between the properties of ligands and their effects on the oxidative removal of contaminants,five common ligands(formate,acetate,oxalate,ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid(EDTA),and phosphate)as well as acetylacetone(AA)were investigated with arsenite(As(III))as the target contaminant at three initial p H values(3.0,5.0,and 7.0).The addition of these ligands to the ZVI/O2 system resulted in quite different effects on As(III)removal.EDTA enhanced the oxidation of As(III)to arsenate(As(V))but inhibited the removal of As(V).Oxalate was the only ligand in this work that accelerated both the removal of As(III)and As(V).By analyzing the ligand effects from the four aspects:dissolution of surface iron(hydr)oxides,corrosion of ZVI,reaction with ROS,and interference with precipitation,the following properties of ligands were believed to be important:ability to provide dissociable protons,complexation ability with iron,and reactivity with ROS.The complexation ability is a double-edged sword.It could enhance the generation of ROS by reducing the reduction potential of the Fe(III)/Fe(II)redox couple,but also could inhibit the removal of arsenic by coprecipitation.The elucidated relationship between the key property parameters of ligands and their effects on the ZVI/O2 system is helpful for the rational design of effective ZVI/ligand/O2 systems.Xiaojie Song Chen Zhang Bingdang Wu Xiaomeng Wang Zhihao Chen Shujuan Zhang 2019Journal of Environmental Sciences2019,31,12:3

10Structural variation and parallel evolution of apomixis in citrus during domestication and diversification显示文摘Apomixis,or asexual seed formation,is prevalent in Citrinae via a mechanism termed nucellar or adventitious embryony.Here,multiple embryos of a maternal genotype form directly from nucellar cells in the ovule and can outcompete the developing zygotic embryo as they utilize the sexually derived endosperm for growth.Whilst nucellar embryony enables the propagation of clonal plants of maternal genetic constitution,it is also a barrier to effective breeding through hybridization.To address the genetics and evolution of apomixis in Citrinae,a chromosome-level genome of the Hongkong kumquat(Fortunella hindsii)was assembled following a genome-wide variation map including structural variants(SVs)based on 234 Citrinae accessions.This map revealed that hybrid citrus cultivars shelter genome-wide deleterious mutations and SVs into heterozygous states free from recessive selection,which may explain the capability of nucellar embryony in most cultivars during Citrinae diversification.Analyses revealed that parallel evolution may explain the repeated origin of apomixis in different genera of Citrinae.Within Fortunella,we found that apomixis of some varieties originated via introgression.In apomictic Fortunella,the locus associated with apomixis contains the FhRWP gene,encoding an RWP-RK domain-containing protein previously shown to be required for nucellar embryogenesis in Citrus.We found the heterozygous SV in the FhRWP and CitRWP promoters from apomictic Citrus and Fortunella,due to either two or three miniature inverted transposon element(MITE)insertions.A transcription factor,FhARID,encoding an AT-rich interaction domain-containing protein binds to the MITEs in the promoter of apomictic varieties,which facilitates induction of nucellar embryogenesis.This study provides evolutionary genomic and molecular insights into apomixis in Citrinae and has potential ramifications for citrus breeding.Nan Wang Xietian Song Junli Ye Siqi Zhang Zhen Cao Chenqiao Zhu Jianbing Hu Yin Zhou Yue Huang Shuo Cao Zhongjie Liu Xiaomeng Wu Lijun Chai Wenwu Guo Qiang Xu Brandon S.Gaut Anna M.G.Koltunow Yongfeng Zhou Xiuxin Deng 2022National Science Review2022,9,10:1

12Influence of Intraseasonal Oscillation on the Asymmetric Decays of El Ni?o and La Ni?a显示文摘Warm and cold phases of El Nino–Southern Oscillation (ENSO) exhibit a significant asymmetry in their decay speed. To explore the physical mechanism responsible for this asymmetric decay speed, the asymmetric features of anomalous sea surface temperature (SST) and atmospheric circulation over the tropical Western Pacific (WP) in El Nino and La Nina mature-to-decay phases are analyzed. It is found that the interannual standard deviations of outgoing longwave radiation and 850 hPa zonal wind anomalies over the equatorial WP during El Nino (La Nina) mature-to-decay phases are much stronger (weaker) than the intraseasonal standard deviations. It seems that the weakened (enhanced) intraseasonal oscillation during El Nino (La Nina) tends to favor a stronger (weaker) interannual variation of the atmospheric wind, resulting in asymmetric equatorial WP zonal wind anomalies in El Nino and La Nina decay phases. Numerical experiments demonstrate that such asymmetric zonal wind stress anomalies during El Nino and La Nina decay phases can lead to an asymmetric decay speed of SST anomalies in the central-eastern equatorial Pacific through stimulating di erent equatorial Kelvin waves. The largest negative anomaly over the Nino3 region caused by the zonal wind stress anomalies during El Nino can be threefold greater than the positive Nino3 SSTA anomalies during La Nina, indicating that the stronger zonal wind stress anomalies over the equatorial WP play an important role in the faster decay speed during El Nino.Xiaomeng SONG Renhe ZHANG Xinyao RONG 2019Advances in Atmospheric Sciences2019,36,8:1

19Brasenia-inspired hydrogel with sustained and sequential release of BMP and WNT activators for improved bone regeneration显示文摘Although bone morphogenetic protein(BMP) and WNT signaling play pivotal roles in bone development,homeostasis, and regeneration, the applications of proteins to stimulate corresponding signaling pathways showed limited outcomes in the repair and regeneration of bone defects that might be attributed to the reciprocal interventions of these pathways. In order to satisfy the combinational and sequential activation of BMP and WNT pathways, inspired by the heterogeneous hydrogel-liked structures of Brasenia, heterogeneous alginate/chitosan hydrogels were fabricated and spatially loaded with FK506 and BIO to achieve sustained and sequential release of the activators. Alkaline phosphatase staining, alizarin red staining and q RT-PCR results suggested that FK506 and BIO enhanced osteoblastic differentiation in vitro when used separately. Besides, by mixing and matching the activators and the hydrogel layers, a superior releasing mode that a combination of early FK506 release and following BIO release was identified via both in vitro and in vivo explorations for most efficient bone regeneration.
