| 1 | The point-of-care-testing of nucleic acids by chip, cartridge and paper sensors显示文摘Point-of-care nucleic acid testing(POCNAT) has played an important role in the outbreak of infectious diseases(e.g., COVID-19) over recent years. POCNAT aims to realize the rapid, simple and automatic detection of nucleic acid. Thanks to the development of manufacturing technology, electronic information technology, artificial intelligence technology, and biological information technology in recent years, the development of the POCNAT device has led to significant advancement. Instead of the normal nucleic acid detection methods used in the laboratory, some novel experimental carriers have been applied, such as chips, cartridges and papers. The application of these experimental carriers has realized the automation and integration of nucleic acid detection. The entire process of nucleic acid detection is normally divided into three steps(nucleic acid extraction, target amplification and signal detection). All of the reagents required by the process can be pre-stored on these experimental carriers, without unnecessary manual operation. Furthermore, all of the processes are carried out in this experimental carrier, with the assistance of a specific control device. Although they are complicated to manufacture and precise in design, their application provides a significant step forwards in nucleic acid detection and realizes the integration of nucleic acid detection. This technology has great potential in the field of point-of-care molecular diagnostics in the future. This paper focuses on the relevant content of these experimental carriers. | Yuyue Xu Tao Wang Zhu Chen Lian Jin Zuozhong Wu Jinqu Yan Xiaoni Zhao Lei Cai Yan Deng Yuan Guo Song Li Nongyue He | 2021 | Chinese Chemical Letters2021,32,12: | 1 |
| 2 | The role of 5′-adenosine monophosphate-activated protein kinase(AMPK)in skeletal muscle atrophy显示文摘As a key coordinator of metabolism,AMP-activated protein kinase(AMPK)is vitally involved in skeletal muscle maintenance.AMPK exerts its cellular effects through its function as a serine/threonine protein kinase by regulating many downstream targets and plays important roles in the development and growth of skeletal muscle.AMPK is activated by phosphorylation and exerts its function as a kinase in many processes, including synthesis and degradation of proteins, mitochondrial biogenesis, glucose uptake, and fatty acid and cholesterol metabolism.Skeletal muscle atrophy is a result of various diseases or disorders and is characterized by a decrease in muscle mass. The pathogenesis and therapeutic strategies of skeletal muscle atrophy are still under investigation. In this review,we discuss the role of AMPK in skeletal muscle metabolism and atrophy. We also discuss targeting AMPK for skeletal muscle treatment, including exercise,AMPK activators including 5-amino-4-imidazolecarboxamide ribonucleoside and metformin, and low-level lasers. These studies show the important roles of AMPK in regulating muscle metabolism and function;thus, the treatment of skeletal muscle atrophy needs to take into account the roles of AMPK. | KAI DANG HAFIZ MUHAMMAD UMER FAROOQ YUAN GAO XIAONI DENG AIRONG QIAN | 2023 | BIOCELL2023,47,2: | 0 |
| 3 | An integrated genome-wide analysis identifies HUR/ELAVL1 as a positive regulator of osteogenesis through enhancing theβ-catenin signaling activity显示文摘Osteoporosis is a prevalent multifactorial bone disease with a strong genetic contribution. The heritability of traits that contribute to osteoporosis(bone mass, bone mineral density(BMD),bone size, bone loss and fractures)ranges from 50 to 85%,suggesting that a comprehensive understanding of the genetic basis may help identify new therapeutic targets.1 However, the genetic characteristics remain obscure, and the existing drug targets are associated with various challenges.Numerous studies have demonstrated that high-throughput sequencing data analysis is fruitful for identifying novel targets of human diseases.2 We therefore integrated GWAS and transcriptome analyses through Multi-marker Analysis of GenoMic Annotation(MAGMA)and weighted gene co-expression network analysis3(WGCNA)to identify new network modules and potential therapeutic genes for osteoporosis. As an illustration, the flow chart presenting the process of the present study was shown in Figure S1. | Ying Huai Zhihao Chen Xiaoni Deng Xue Wang Wenjing Mao Zhiping Miao Yu Li Hui Li Xiao Lin Airong Qian | 2023 | Genes & Diseases2023,10,2: | 0 |
| 4 | A critical review on thermodynamic mechanisms of membrane fouling in membrane-based water treatment process显示文摘Membrane technology is widely regarded as one of the most promising technologies for wastewater treatment and reclamation in the 21st century. However, membrane fouling significantly limits its applicability and productivity. In recent decades, research on the membrane fouling has been one of the hottest spots in the field of membrane technology. In particular, recent advances in thermodynamics have substantially widened people’s perspectives on the intrinsic mechanisms of membrane fouling. Formulation of fouling mitigation strategies and fabrication of anti-fouling membranes have both benefited substantially from those studies. In the present review, a summary of the recent results on the thermodynamic mechanisms associated with the critical adhesion and filtration processes during membrane fouling is provided. Firstly, the importance of thermodynamics in membrane fouling is comprehensively assessed. Secondly, the quantitative methods and general factors involved in thermodynamic fouling mechanisms are critically reviewed. Based on the aforementioned information, a brief discussion is presented on the potential applications of thermodynamic fouling mechanisms for membrane fouling control. Finally, prospects for further research on thermodynamic mechanisms underlying membrane fouling are presented. Overall, the present review offers comprehensive and in-depth information on the thermodynamic mechanisms associated with complex fouling behaviors, which will further facilitate research and development in membrane technology. | Jiaheng Teng Ying Deng Xiaoni Zhou Wenfa Yang Zhengyi Huang Hanmin Zhang Meijia Zhang Hongjun Lin | 2023 | Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering2023,17,10: | 0 |
