| 1 | Effect of cooling rates on the dendritic morphology transition of Mg–6Gd alloy by in situ X-ray radiography显示文摘The effect of cooling rate on the transition of dendrite morphology of a Mg-6 Gd(wt%) alloy was semiquantitatively analyzed under a constant temperature gradient by using synchrotron X-ray radiographic technique. Results show that equiaxed dendrites, including exotic 'butterfly-shaped' dendrite morphology, dominate at high cooling rate(>1 K/s). When the cooling rate decreases in the range of 0.5–1 K/s, the equiaxed-to-columnar transition takes place, and solute segregates at the center of two long dendrite arms(LDA) of the 'butterfly-shaped' dendrite. When the cooling rate is lower than 0.3 K/s, directional solidification occurs and the columnar dendritic growth direction gradually rotates from the crystalline axis to the thermal gradient direction with an increase in cooling rate. Meanwhile, interface moves faster but the dendrite arm spacing decreases. | 2 | A human embryonic stem cell-based in vitro model revealed that ultrafine carbon particles may cause skin inflammation and psoriasis显示文摘Air pollution has been linked to many health issues,including skin conditions,especially in children.Among all the atmospheric pollutants,ultrafine particles have been deemed very dangerous since they can readily penetrate the lungs and skin,and be absorbed into the bloodstream.Here,we employed a human embryonic stem cell(h ESC)-based differentiation system towards keratinocytes,to test the effects of ultrafine carbon particles,which mimic ambient ultrafine particles,at environment related concentrations.We found that10 ng/mL to 10μg/mL ultrafine carbon particles down-regulated the expression of the pluripotency marker SOX2 in h ESCs.Moreover,1μg/mL to 10μg/mL carbon particle treatments disrupted the keratinocyte differentiation,and up-regulated inflammationand psoriasis-related genes,such as IL-1β,IL-6,CXCL1,CXCL2,CXCL3,CCL20,CXCL8,and S100 A7 and S100 A9,respectively.Overall,our results provide a new insight into the potential developmental toxicity of atmospheric ultrafine particles. | Zhanwen Cheng Xiaoxing Liang Shaojun Liang Nuoya Yin Francesco Faiola | 2020 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2020,32,1: | 6 |

| 5 | Protective effects of Ginkgo biloba extract on 6-hydroxydopamine-induced apoptosis in PC12 cells显示文摘The present study analyzed the protective effects of Ginkgo biloba extract against 6-hydroxydopamine-induced PC12 cell apoptosis in a model of Parkinson's disease. The results showed that Ginkgo biloba extract had a potent cytoprotective action and inhibited apoptosis of PC12 cells induced by 6-hydroxydopamine. Ginkgo biloba extract decreased the ratio of Bax to Bcl-2 and markedly inhibited the activation of p53 and caspase-3. These experimental findings indicate that Ginkgo biloba extract may significantly reduce the effects of oxidative stress induced by 6-hydroxydopamine in PC12 cells and suppress cell apoptosis. | 12 | Study on the thermal decomposition characteristics of C_(4)F_(7)N-CO_(2)mixture as ecofriendly gas-insulating medium显示文摘The authors explored the thermal decomposition characteristics of perfluoroisobutyronitrile–carbon dioxide(C_(4)F_(7)N–CO_(2))gas mixture as eco-friendly dielectric medium.The main by-products and decomposition mechanism of C_(4)F_(7)N–CO_(2)gas mixture under different temperature and gas pressure conditions were revealed and analysed.It was found that the thermal decomposition of 6%C_(4)F_(7)N–94%CO_(2)gas mixture starts at about 350°C(0.15 MPa),producing C_(3)F_(6) and CO first.Some other characteristic by-products such as CF_(4),C_(2)F_(6),CF_(3)CN,COF_(2) and(CN)_(2) could also be detected at higher temperature.The yield of C_(3)F_(6),(CN)_(2) increased with the temperature(lower than 450℃)first and then decreased when it reached to 500℃.While the yield of CO,C3F8,COF_(2) and CF_(3)CN increased with temperature(350–550℃).The generation of CF_(4) and C_(2)F_(6) begins at temperatures higher than 500℃,which can be used as the feature component of severe overheating fault.The thermal decomposition amount and by-products yield of C_(4)F_(7)N–CO_(2)gas mixture slowed down with the increase of gas pressure,indicating that C_(4)F_(7)N–CO_(2)gas mixture is quite suitable used at high-pressure equipment,especially high-voltage devices such as gas insulated switchgear. | Yi Li Xiaoxing Zhang Ji Zhang Cheng Xie Xianjun Shao Ziling Wang Dachang Chen Song Xiao | 2020 | High Voltage2020,5,1: | 0 |
