2Blocking FSH inhibits hepatic cholesterol biosynthesis and reduces serum cholesterol显示文摘Menopause is associated with dyslipidemia and an increased risk of cardio-cerebrovascular disease.The classic view assumes that the underlying mechanism of dyslipidemia is attributed to an insufficiency of estrogen.In addition to a decrease in estrogen, circulating follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH)levels become elevated at menopause.In this study,we find that blocking FSH reduces serum cholesterol via inhibiting hepatic cholesterol biosynthesis.First,epidemiological results show that the serum FSH levels are positively correlated with the serum total cholesterol levels,even after adjustment by considering the effects of serum estrogen,in addition,the prevalence of hypercholesterolemia is significantly higher in peri-menopausal women than that in premenopausal women.Furthermore,we generated a mouse model of FSH elevation by intraperitoneally injecting exogenous FSH into ovariectomized (OVX)mice,in which a normal level of estrogen (E2)was maintained by exogenous supplementation. Consistently,the results indicate that FSH,independent of estrogen,increases the serum cholesterol level in this mouse model. 3A novel mechanism of inhibiting in-stent restenosis with arsenic trioxide drug-eluting stent: Enhancing contractile phenotype of vascular smooth muscle cells via YAP pathway显示文摘Objective:Arsenic trioxide(ATO or As2O3)has beneficial effects on suppressing neointimal hyperplasia and restenosis,but the mechanism is still unclear.The goal of this study is to further understand the mechanism of ATO's inhibitory effect on vascular smooth muscle cells(VSMCs).Methods and results:Through in vitro cell culture and in vivo stent implanting into the carotid arteries of rabbit,a synthetic-to-contractile phenotypic transition was induced and the proliferation of VSMCs was inhibited by ATO.F-actin filaments were clustered and the elasticity modulus was increased within the phenotypic modulation of VSMCs induced by ATO in vitro.Meanwhile,Yes-associated protein(YAP)nuclear translocation was inhibited by ATO both in vivo and in vitro.It was found that ROCK inhibitor or YAP inactivator could partially mask the phenotype modulation of ATO on VSMCs.Conclusions:The interaction of YAP with the ROCK pathway through ATO seems to mediate the contractile phenotype of VSMCs.This provides an indication of the clinical therapeutic mechanism for the beneficial bioactive effect of ATO-drug eluting stent(AES)on in-stent restenosis(ISR).Yinping Zhao Guangchao Zang Tieying Yin Xiaoyi Ma Lifeng Zhou Lingjuan Wu Richard Daniel Yunbing Wang Juhui Qiu Guixue Wang 2021Bioactive Materials2021,6,2:13
4The chromosome-level reference genome assembly for Panax notoginseng and insights into ginsenoside biosynthesis显示文摘Panax notoginseng,a perennial herb of the genus Panax in the family Araliaceae,has played an important role in clinical treatment in China for thousands of years because of its extensive pharmacological effects.Here,we report a high-quality reference genome of P.notoginseng,with a genome size up to 2.66 Gb and a contig N50 of 1.12 Mb,produced with third-generation PacBio sequencing technology.This is the first chromosome-level genome assembly for the genus Panax.Through genome evolution analysis,we explored phylogenetic and whole-genome duplication events and examined their impact on saponin biosynthesis.We performed a detailed transcriptional analysis of P.notoginseng and explored genelevel mechanisms that regulate the formation of characteristic tubercles.Next,we studied the biosynthesis and regulation of saponins at temporal and spatial levels.We combined multi-omics data to identify genes that encode key enzymes in the P.notoginseng terpenoid biosynthetic pathway.Finally,we identified five glycosyltransferase genes whose products catalyzed the formation of different ginsenosides in P.notoginseng.The genetic information obtained in this study provides a resource for further exploration of the growth characteristics,cultivation,breeding,and saponin biosynthesis of P.notoginseng.Zhouqian Jiang Lichan Tu Weifei Yang Yifeng Zhang Tianyuan Hu Baowei Ma Yun Lu Xiuming Cui Jie Gao Xiaoyi Wu Yuru Tong Jiawei Zhou Yadi Song Yuan Liu Nan Liu Luqi Huang Wei Gao 2021Plant Communications2021,2,1:11
5Quasi-phase-matching-division multiplexing holography in a three-dimensional nonlinear photonic crystal显示文摘Nonlinear holography has recently emerged as a novel tool to reconstruct the encoded information at a new wavelength,which has important applications in optical display and optical encryption.However,this scheme still struggles with low conversion efficiency and ineffective multiplexing.In this work,we demonstrate a quasi-phasematching(QPM)-division multiplexing holography in a three-dimensional(3D)nonlinear photonic crystal(NPC).3D NPC works as a nonlinear hologram,in which multiple images are distributed into different Ewald spheres in reciprocal space.The reciprocal vectors locating in a given Ewald sphere are capable of fulfilling the complete QPM conditions for the high-efficiency reconstruction of the target image at the second-harmonic(SH)wave.One can easily switch the reconstructed SH images by changing the QPM condition.The multiplexing capacity is scalable with the period number of 3D NPC.Our work provides a promising strategy to achieve highly efficient nonlinear multiplexing holography for high-security and high-density storage of optical information.Pengcheng Chen Chaowei Wang Dunzhao Wei Yanlei Hu Xiaoyi Xu Jiawen Li Dong Wu Jianan Ma Shengyun Ji Leran Zhang Liqun Xu Tianxin Wang Chuan Xu Jiaru Chu Shining Zhu Min Xiao Yong Zhang 2021Light(Science & Applications)2021,10,8:5

7Hazard Assessment of Co-seismic Landslides Based on Information Value Method:A Case in 2018 MW6.6 Hokkaido Earthquake,Japan显示文摘An MW6.6 earthquake occurred in eastern Hokkaido,Japan on September 6th,2018.Based on the pre-earthquake image from Google Earth and the post-earthquake image from high resolution(3 m)planet satellite,we manually interpret 9293 coseismic landslides and select 7 influencing factors of seismic landslide,such as elevation,slope,slope direction,road distance,flow distance,peak ground acceleration(PGA)and lithology.Then,9293 landslide points are randomly divided into training samples and validation samples with a proportion of 7:3.In detail,the training sample has 6505 landslide points and the validation sample has 2788 landslide points.The hazard risk assessment of seismic landslide is conducted by using the information value method and the study area is further divided into five risk grades,including very low risk area,low risk area,moderate risk area high risk area and very high risk area.The results show that there are 7576 landslides in high risk area and very high risk area,accounting for81.52%of the total landslide number,and the landslide area is 22.93 km^2,accounting for 74.35%of the total area.The hazard zoning is in high accordance with the actual situation.The evaluation results are tested by using the curve of cumulative percentage of hazardous area and cumulative percentage of landslides number.The results show that the success rate of the information value method is 78.50%and the prediction rate is 78.43%.The evaluation results are satisfactory,indicating that the hazard risk assessment results based on information value method may provide scientific reference for landslide hazard risk assessment as well as the disaster prevention and mitigation in the study area.WEN Boyu XU Chong HE Xiangli MA Siyuan SHAO Xiaoyi LI Kai ZHANG Zhongjian LI Zhengfang 2020Earthquake Research in China2020,34,1:2
8Ultrathin,flexible,and oxidation-resistant MXene/graphene porous films for efficient electromagnetic interference shielding显示文摘Designing and fabricating efficient electromagnetic interference(EMI)shielding materials becomes a significant and urgent concern.Hence,a novel ultrathin,flexible,and oxidation-resistant MXene-based graphene(M-rGX)porous film is successfully fabricated by electrostatic self-assembly between MXene and graphene oxide(GO)nanosheets,and subsequently thermal annealing under hydrogen-argon atmosphere.The rapid breakaway of functional groups on GO and MXene sheets induces formation of porous conductive network in film,thereby facilitating efficient shielding for incident electromagnetic waves.The optimal absolute shielding effectiveness(SSE/t)value of 76,422 dB·cm2·g−1 can be achieved at a thinner thickness of 15μm.More importantly,the effective removal of functional groups on MXene conspicuously improves the oxidation resistance of the film,endowing it with an excellent durability(12 months)in EMI shielding performance.Xinwei Tang Jiangtao Luo Zhiwei Hu Shijie Lu Xiaoyi Liu Shuangshuang Li Xu Zhao Zihang Zhang Qianqian Lan Piming Ma Zicheng Wang Tianxi Liu 2023Nano Research2023,16,1:1

13High‑Performance Flexible Microneedle Array as a Low‑Impedance Surface Biopotential Dry Electrode for Wearable Electrophysiological Recording and Polysomnography显示文摘Microneedle array(MNA)electrodes are an effective solution to achieve high-quality surface biopotential recording without the coordination of conductive gel and are thus very suitable for long-term wearable applications.Existing schemes are limited by flexibility,biosafety,and manufacturing costs,which create large barriers for wider applications.Here,we present a novel flexible MNA electrode that can simultaneously achieve flexibility of the substrate to fit a curved body surface,robustness of microneedles to penetrate the skin without fracture,and a simplified process to allow mass production.The compatibility with wearable wireless systems and the short preparation time of the electrodes significantly improves the comfort and convenience of electrophysiological recording.The normalized electrode–skin contact impedance reaches 0.98 kΩcm^(2)at 1 kHz and 1.50 kΩcm^(2)at 10 Hz,a record low value compared to previous reports and approximately 1/250 of the standard electrodes.The morphology,biosafety,and electrical/mechanical properties are fully characterized,and wearable recordings with a high signal-to-noise ratio and low motion artifacts are realized.The first reported clinical study of microneedle electrodes for surface electrophysiological monitoring was conducted in tens of healthy and sleep-disordered subjects with 44 nights of recording(over 8 h per night),providing substantial evidence that the electrodes can be leveraged to substitute for clinical standard electrodes.Junshi Li Yundong Ma Dong Huang Zhongyan Wang Zhitong Zhang Yingjie Ren Mengyue Hong Yufeng Chen Tingyu Li Xiaoyi Shi Lu Cao Jiayan Zhang Bingli Jiao Junhua Liu Hongqiang Sun Zhihong Li 2022Nano-Micro Letters2022,14,8:1

18Landslide Susceptibility Mapping in Terms of the Slope-Unit or Raster-Unit,Which is Better?显示文摘Choice of appropriate mapping units is important in landslide susceptibility mapping(LSM).There are various possible units for this choice,while it remains unclear which one is better in performance.The purpose of this study is to make a quantitative comparison of two commonly-used units:slope-unit(SU)and raster-unit(RU)based on the landslides triggered by the 2013 Minxian,Gansu,China Mw5.9 earthquake.Ten landslide influencing factors were considered in this analysis.For each type of mapping units,the 70%samples were randomly selected and trained 20 times on the LR model,yielding 20 susceptibility maps,and the remaining 30%samples were tested for the accuracy of the modeling outcome.Different metrics,including the mean probability,model uncertainty,and model prediction skills,were used to evaluate the quality of the susceptibility maps.The results show that the resultant probability maps using two mapping units can largely predict the distribution of actual landslides,on which the high susceptibility area corresponds to the landslide-prone area.The AUC(area under curve)values,ranging from 0.8 to 0.86,show that the prediction ability of two mapping units is roughly the same.While comparing with the RU,the use of SU can lower the model uncertainties caused by the variation of training sets.We converted the RU-based assessment results into SU-based scheme.The results show that two assessment results are well fitted with good linear relationship,which implies that it is feasible to convert the RU-based landslide susceptibility mapping into the SU-based scheme.This analysis indicates that compared with the RU,the SU cannot improve the performance and accuracy of seismic landslide susceptibility mapping.Siyuan Ma Xiaoyi Shao Chong Xu 2023Journal of Earth Science2023,34,2:1
