2Status and development of high-power laser facilities at the NLHPLP显示文摘In this paper, we review the status of the multifunctional experimental platform at the National Laboratory of High Power Laser and Physics(NLHPLP). The platform, including the SG-II laser facility, SG-II 9th beam, SG-II upgrade(SG-II UP) facility, and SG-II 5 PW facility, is operational and available for interested scientists studying inertial confinement fusion(ICF) and a broad range of high-energy-density physics. These facilities can provide important experimental capabilities by combining different pulse widths of nanosecond, picosecond, and femtosecond scales. In addition, the SG-II UP facility, consisting of a single petawatt system and an eight-beam nanosecond system, is introduced including several laser technologies that have been developed to ensure the performance of the facility. 3Tectonically-controlled Evolution of the Late Cenozoic Nihewan Basin, North China Craton: Constraints from Stratigraphy, Mineralogy, and Geochemistry显示文摘The Late Cenozoic basins in the Weihe–Shanxi Graben, North China Craton are delineated by northeast-striking faults. The faults have, since a long time, been related to the progressive uplift and northeastward expansion of the Tibetan Plateau. To show the relation between the basins and faults, two Pliocene–Pleistocene stratigraphic sections(Chengqiang and Hongyanangou) in the southern part of the Nihewan Basin at the northernmost parts of the graben are studied herein. Based on the sedimentary sequences and facies, the sections are divided into three evolutionary stages, such as alluvial fan-eolian red clay, fan delta, and fluvial, with boundaries at ~2.8 and ~1.8 Ma. Paleocurrent indicators, the composition of coarse clastics, heavy minerals, and the geochemistry of moderate–fine clastics are used to establish the temporal and spatial variations in the source areas. Based on features from the middlenorthern basin, we infer that the Nihewan Basin comprises an old NE–SW elongate geotectogene and a young NW–SE elongate subgeotectogene. The main geotectogene in the mid-north is a half-graben bounded by northeast-striking and northwest-dipping normal faults(e.g., Liulengshan Fault). This group of faults was mainly affected by the Pliocene(before ~2.8–2.6 Ma) NW–SE extension and controlled the deposition of sediments. In contrast, the subgeotectogene in the south was affected by northwest-striking normal faults(e.g., Huliuhe Fault) that were controlled by the subsequent weak NE–SW extension in the Pleistocene. The remarkable change in the sedimentary facies and provenance since ~1.8 Ma is possibly a signal of either weak or strong NE–SW extension. 4Spatiotemporal dynamics of cell abundance,colony size and intracellular toxin concentrations of pelagic and benthic Microcystis in Lake Caohai,China显示文摘Lake Caohai has experienced extensive Microcystis blooms in recent years,and to improve its water quality,the local government carried out a series of water control measures.To better understand the dynamics of both pelagic and benthic Microcystis and their characteristics in Lake Caohai,we conducted a 1-year investigation from December 2015to December 2016 to gain a seasonal outlook on the distribution and dynamics of cell abundance,colony size and intracellular microcystins(MCs)of Microcystis.The results indicated that the Microcystis bloom occupied primarily the northeastern region and then moved gradually from lakeshore to lake center.The perennial southwesterly winds and the water inflow from northeast to southwest in Lake Caohai determined the spatiotemporal distribution of pelagic Microcystis.Benthic Microcystis was mainly distributed in the northeastern region in summer,occupied the lake center in autumn and then occupied the southeastern region in winter,determined by the sedimentation of pelagic Microcystis and the death of benthic Microcystis.Small colonies(20-60μm)overwintered more easily in both water column and sediment.The concentrations of intracellular toxin of benthic Microcystis were observed to be significantly higher than those of pelagic Microcystis.This might be because Microcystis synthesized large amount of MCs to acclimate to an unfavorable benthic environment.This knowledge on the dynamics of Microcystis expands our understanding of mechanisms underpinning the formation of Microcystis blooms.Bing Feng Chunbo Wang Xingqiang Wu Cuicui Tian Meng Zhang Yingying Tian Bangding Xiao 2019Journal of Environmental Sciences2019,31,10:1

11Improved lakeshore sediment microenvironment and enhanced denitrification efficiency by natural solid carbon sources显示文摘At present,the high level of nitrate in tailwater of wastewater treatment plants(WWTPs)has continued to cause serious environmental problems.In current study,wood chips and bark,serving as natural solid carbon source(NSCS),were applied to enhance the denitrification capacity of lakeshore sediment to remove superabundant nitrate in tailwater.The results show that NSCS had a positive effect on denitrification process for lakeshore sediment and increased the total phosphorus removal capacity by 212%-601%.Comparatively,wood chips were better in enhancing denitrification ability of lakeshore sediment for a longer time.At the 70th day,the nitrate elimination(NEL)of the wood chip-sediment integrated system(WSIS)was 20%and 9%higher than the control system(CS)and bark-sediment integrated system(BSIS),respectively.For the WSIS,the microbial activity and the abundance of nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide(NADH)were significantly increased,and the sediment anaerobic zone was rapidly formed,which were conducive to the denitrification of the sediment.At the DNA level,both groups presented an inconsistency in the abundance of functional denitrification genes with the NEL.At the enzyme level,wood chips significantly increased the nitrate and nitrite reductase activities of the sediment,and promoted denitrification.From the perspective of microbial communities,wood chips highly promoted the abundance of norank_f_BIrii41 Proteobacteria and Ruminclostridum more than other denitrifying and potential denitrifying bacteria in the process of sediment denitrification enhancement.Shihao Gong Oscar Omondi Donde Qijia Cai Xingqiang Wu Kezheng Song Chunbo Wang Pei Hong Bangding Xiao Cuicui Tian 2022International Journal of Sediment Research2022,37,6:0
12Production of Pacific White Shrimp Polycultured with Swimming Crab at Different Densities, and Nutrient Budget in the Enclosure System显示文摘This study was to evaluate the effect of stocking densities on the nitrogen and phosphorus budgets for a polyculture of the crab Portunus trituberculatus and the Pacific white shrimp Litopenaeus vannamei.The shrimps(initial weight,0.012 g)were cultured at a density of 45 shrimp m^(-2),and juvenile crabs(initial weight,0.024 g)were cultured at five densities of 0,3,6,9,and 12 crabs m^(-2).The treatments were grouped as C0S45,C3S45,C6S45,C9S45,and C12S45,respectively.Water quality parameters,growth of shrimp and crabs,and nitrogen and phosphorus budget were measured.The results indicated that the shrimp performances in polyculture treatments C3S45 and C6S45 were superior to those in the crab-free treatment(C0S45).The crab in treatments C3S45 and C6S45 exhibited a significantly higher final mean weight and carapace width/length than those in treatments C9S45 and C12S45.The final size and survival of crabs had a negative correlation with the increasing crab stocking density.The contents of total phos-phorus and total nitrogen and the comprehensive contamination index values were higher in the C9S45 and C12S45 treatments than in the other treatments.The conversion ratios of nitrogen for crab and shrimp growth in treatment C3S45 were significantly higher than those in the crab-free treatment.These findings indicate that polyculturing shrimp with crabs at suitable densities can improve productivity,profitability,nutrient utilization,and the environmental quality.From the 60-day treatments,the optimal culture densi-ties were 3-6 crabs m^(-2) and 45 shrimps m^(-2).ZHOU Yangen BAO Weiyang SU Yuepeng HUANG Ming WANG Xingqiang YAN Binlun MA Shen 2022Journal of Ocean University of China2022,21,1:0

14Geochemical characteristics of temperature and pressure of Paleozoic reservoir fluid inclusions in Xuanjing region, Lower Yangtze area显示文摘In order to understand the geochemical characteristics of Paleozoic reservoir fluids in Xuanjing region,Lower Yangtze area,drilling core samples from Y and D wells were tested and analyzed to study the fluid inclusion types and composition.Pressure correction was undertaken to determine the temperature and pressure environment for inclusion formation,and the influence of fluid characteristics of the Upper Permian and Lower Triassic reservoirs on the preservation of shale gas was investigated.According to petrograph-ic observations,fluid inclusions are mainly brine and bitumen inclusions.Bitumen inclusions are mainly distributed in holes and fractures,and with smaller individuals.No visible fluorescence was observed,and the vitrinite reflectance is 3.39%–3.92%.This indicates that there had been oil and gas accumulation in the early stage of diagenesis in the study area,but due to the influence of magmatic hydrothermal solution,oil and gas underwent thermal metamorphism in the early stage,making liquid petroleum into solid bitumen.At present,oil and gas in the reservoir were largely formed in the late stage.During the continuous process in which shale was buried,light oil and gas were generated.Light oil and gas underwent magmatic and tectonic hydrothermal processes in some areas,resulting in high-temperature metamorphic cracking that formed dry gas.Moreover,nitrogen inclusions are found in fluid inclusions,forming metamorphic fluids caused by mag-matic hydrothermal activities.The study shows that Paleozoic reservoirs in Xuanjing area are characterized by self-generation and self-storage.Furthermore,the mechanism of shale gas accumulation is not only related to the buried hydrocarbon generation process of shale itself,but is also related to later magmatic activity and tectonic hydrothermal transformation.Therefore,preservation conditions are generally key factors of shale gas accumulation in this area.DONG Min LIANG Minliang DONG Hui FENG Xingqiang ZHANG Linyan WANG Zongxiu 2023Global Geology2023,26,4:0
15Effects of organic carbon consumption on denitrifier community composition and diversity along dissolved oxygen vertical profiles in lake sediment surface显示文摘At present,the understanding of the dynamics of denitrifiers at different dissolved oxygen(DO)layers under organic carbon consumption within the surface sediments remains inadequate.In this study,high-throughput sequencing and quantitative PCR targeting nirS gene were used to analyze the denitrifier abundance dynamics,community composition,and structure for aerobic(DO 0.5-6.9 mg/L),hypoxic-anoxic(DO 0-0.5 mg/L),and anoxic(DO 0 mg/L)layers in surface sediments under organic carbon consumption.Based on the analysis of nirS gene abundance,the values of denitrifying bacteria decreased with organic carbon consumption at different DO layers.When the bacterial species abundance at the genus level were compared between the high-carbon and low-carbon sediments,there was significant increase in 6 out of 36,7 out of 36 and 6 out of 36 genera respectively for the aerobic,hypoxic-anoxic and anoxic layers.On the other hand,14 out of 36,9 out of 36 and 15 out of 36 genera showed significant decrease in bacterial species abundance respectively for the aerobic,hypoxic-anoxic and anoxic layers.Additionally,14 out of 36,20 out of 36,and 15 out of 36 genera had no change in bacterial species abundance respectively for the aerobic,hypoxic-anoxic,and anoxic layers.This indicates that the carbon utilization ability of different denitrifiers on each DO layers was generally different from each other.Diversity of denitrifying bacteria also presented significant differences in different DO layers between the high-and low-carbon content sediment layers.Moreover,under the high-carbon and low-carbon content,the abundance of nirS gene showed a high peak within the hypoxic-anoxic regions,suggesting that this region might be the main distribution area for the denitrifying bacteria within the surface sediments.Furthermore,community of unique denitrifiers occurred in different DO layers and the adaptive changes of the denitrifier community followed the organic carbon consumption.HONG Pei GONG Shihao WANG Chunbo SHU Yilin WU Xingqiang TIAN Cuicui Oscar Omondi DONDE CAI Pei WU Huaming XIAO Bangding 2020Journal of Oceanology and Limnology2020,38,3:0
