1Working fluid selection based on critical temperature and water temperature in organic Rankine cycle显示文摘This paper examines the thermal performance of working fluids in the entire evaporation temperature region up to near-critical temperature of working fluids in the organic Rankine cycle(ORC).The variation and tendency of the net power output with water temperature and correlated with the critical temperature of working fluids is investigated.Four characteristic curves of the net power output at particular water temperature(Tw_turn,Tw_app,Tw_tran and Tw_up)and their temperature difference(△T_turn=Tw_turn△Tcr,△T_app=Tw_app△Tcr)are obtained to evaluate the working fluids.The curve at'applicable water temperature(Tw_app)'is a demarcation to differentiate the net power output from low to high.The'upper water temperature(Tw_up)'is an upper limit of the water temperature to yield the higher net power output.A relation is built that the suitable water temperature is within the Tw_app and Tw_up of the working fluid.LI XinGuo ZHAO WenJing LIN DieDie ZHU Qiang 2015Science China(Technological Sciences)2015,58,1:8
2Feasibility of Estimating Heavy Metal Contaminations in Floodplain Soils Using Laboratory-Based Hyperspectral Data—A Case Study Along Le’an River, China显示文摘It is necessary to estimate heavy metal concentrations within soils for understanding heavy metal contaminations and for keeping the sustainable developments of ecosystems.This study,with the floodplain along Le'an River and its two branches in Jiangxi Province of China as a case study,aimed to explore the feasibility of estimating concentrations of heavy metal lead(Pb),copper(Cu) and zinc(Zn) within soils using laboratory-based hyperspectral data.Thirty soil samples were collected,and their hyperspectral data,soil organic matters and Pb,Cu and Zn concentrations were measured in the laboratory.The potential relations among hyperspectral data,soil organic matter and Pb,Cu and Zn concentrations were explored and further used to estimate Pb,Cu and Zn concentrations from hyperspectral data with soil organic matter as a bridge.The results showed that the ratio of the first-order derivatives of spectral absorbance at wavelengths 624 and 564 nm could explain 52% of the variation of soil organic matter;the soil organic matter could ex-plain 59%,51% and 50% of the variation of Pb,Cu and Zn concentrations with estimated standard errors of 1.41,48.27 and 45.15 mg·kg-1;and the absolute estimation errors were 8%-56%,12%-118% and 2%-22%,and 50%,67% and 100% of them were less than 25% for Pb,Cu and Zn concentration estimations.We concluded that the laboratory-based hyperspectral data hold potentials in esti-mating concentrations of heavy metal Pb,Cu and Zn in soils.More sampling points or other potential linear and non-linear regression methods should be used for improving the stabilities and accuracies of the estimation models.LIU Yaolin LI Wei WU Guofeng XU Xinguo 2011Geo-Spatial Information Science2011,14,1:7

4Molecular characterization and expression analysis of Triticum aestivum squamosa-promoter binding protein-box genes involved in ear development显示文摘Wheat(Triticum aestivum L.) is one of the most important crops in the world. Squamosa-promoter binding protein(SBP)-box genes play a critical role in regulating flower and fruit development. In this study, 10 novel SBP-box genes(TaSPL genes) were isolated from wheat((Triticum aestivum L.) cultivar Yanzhan 4110). Phylogenetic analysis classified the TaSPL genes into five groups(G1–G5). The motif combinations and expression patterns of the TaSPL genes varied among the five groups with each having own distinctive characteristics: TaSPL20/21 in G1 and TaSPL17 in G2 mainly expressed in the shoot apical meristem and the young ear, and their expression levels responded to development of the ear; TaSPL6/15 belonging to G3 were upregulated and TaSPL1/23 in G4 were downregulated during grain development; the gene in G5(TaSPL3) expressed constitutively. Thus, the consistency of the phylogenetic analysis, motif compositions, and expression patterns of the TaSPL genes revealed specific gene structures and functions.On the other hand, the diverse gene structures and different expression patterns suggested that wheat SBP-box genes have a wide range of functions. 6High-resolution, full-color quantum dot light-emitting diode display fabricated via photolithography approach显示文摘Displays play an extremely important role in modern information society,which creates a never-ending demand for the new and better products and technologies.The latest requirements for novel display technologies focus on high resolution and high color gamut.Among emerging technologies that include organic light-emitting diode(OL ED),micro light-emiting diode(micro-LED),quantum dot light-emitting diode(QLED),laser display,holographic display and others,QLED is promising owing to its intrinsic high color gamut and the possibility to achieve high resolution with photolithography approach.However,previously demonstrated photolthography techniques suffer from reduced device performance and color Impurities in subpixels from the process.In this study,we demonstrated a sacrificial layer assisted patterming(SLAP)approach,which can be applied in conjunction with photolithography to fabricate high-resolution,full-colo quantum dot(QD)patterns.In this approach,the negative photoresist(PR)and sacrificial layer(SL)were uilized to determine the pixels for QD deposition,while at the same time the SL helps protect the QD layer and keep it intact(named PR-SL approach).To prove this method's viability for QLED display manufacture,a 500-ppi,full-color passive matrix(PM)-QLED prototype was fabricated via this process.Results show that there were no color impurities in the subpixels,and the PM-QL ED has a high color gamut of 114%National Television Standards Committee(NTSC).To the best of our knowledge,this is the first ull-olor QLED prototype with such a high resolution.We anticipate that this innovative patteming technique will open a new horizon for future display technologies and may lead to a disruptive and innovative change in display industry.Wenhai Mei Zhenqi Zhang Aidi Zhang Dong Li Xiaoyuan Zhang Haowei Wang Zhuo Chen Yanzhao Li Xinguo Li Xiaoguang Xu 2020Nano Research2020,13,9:6
7Shift-characteristics and bounds of thermal performance of organic Rankine cycle based on trapezoidal model显示文摘In consideration of the constraints of actual working fluids on theoretical study of organic Rankine cycle(ORC), a trapezoidal cycle(TPC) with theoretical model to simulate ORC was proposed in previous works. In this study, mathematical models of working fluids including model of simulated saturation curve(MSSC) and model of linear saturation lines(MLSL) are proposed and built. Combining mathematical models of working fluids and TPC, the thermodynamic characteristics and principles of TPC(or ORC) can be studied or predicted theoretically. There exists a shift-curve of net power output with corresponding shifttemperature of heating fluid for working fluids, which indicates the shift of net power output from having optimum condition of maximum power to monotonic increase with evaporation temperature. This shift-characteristic is significant to working fluid selection and evaluation of cycle performance, for it indicates that cycle without optimum condition can yield higher net power output than the cycle with optimum condition. Equations to calculate the shift-temperature in ORC(or TPC) are derived; and equations to calculate the highest optimal evaporation temperature and highest maximum power as the highest optimum condition at this shift-temperature are obtained. Based on TPC and its theoretical model, the lower and upper bounds of thermal performance(maximum power and corresponding thermal efficiency) of TPC(or ORC) can be demonstrated and acquired. 8Effects of Planting Density on Growth of New Clones in Populus tomentosa显示文摘Effects of seven planting densities on the growth and tree form of nine 5-year-old new clones in Populus tomentosa were studied. The plantations, arranged with completely random block design, were located in Wuzhi County, Henan Province. Results indicated that effects of planting density on the diameter at breast height (DBH), individual volume and growing stock increment of all new clones in P. tomentosa were significant at the 1% level of probability, effects of planting density on the tree height increment of new clones B2 and B31 and on the live branches height (LBH) increment of new clones B5 and B30 were significant at the 5% level of probability, while the interaction between planting density and clone was not significant at the 5% level of probability. It was concluded that the degree of differences among new clones within the same planting density was different with different planting densities and traits. For short rotation industrial timber, clones B1, B3, B4, B5, B7, B9, B31 were suitable with the density of 1 0002 500 trees per hectare, while for bigger diameter timber, clones B1, B3, B4, B7, B9, B31 could be used with the planting density of 660833 trees per hectare. 9Long-term survival outcomes of video-assisted thoracic surgery for patients with non-small cell lung cancer显示文摘Background: Video-assisted thoracic surgery(VATS) has been shown to be a safe alternative to conventional thoracotomy for patients with non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC). However, popularization of this relatively novel technique has been slow, partly due to concerns about its long-term outcomes. The present study aimed to evaluate the long-term survival outcomes of patients with NSCLC after VATS, and to determine the significant prognostic factors on overall survival.Methods: Consecutive patients diagnosed with NSCLC referred to one institution for VATS were identified from a central database. Patients were treated by either complete-VATS or assisted-VATS, as described in previous studies. A number of baseline patient characteristics, clinicopathologic data and treatment-related factors were analyzed as potential prognostic factors on overall survival.Results: Between January 2000 and December 2007, 1,139 patients with NSCLC who underwent VATS and fulfilled a set of predetermined inclusion criteria were included for analysis. The median age of the entire group was 60 years, with 791 male patients(69%). The median 5-year overall survival for Stage I, II, III and IV disease according to the recently updated TNM classification system were 72.2%, 47.5%, 29.8% and 28.6%, respectively. 10Geological Controls on the CBM Productivity of No.15 Coal Seam of Carboniferous–Permian Taiyuan Formation in Southern Qinshui Basin and Prediction for CBM High-yield Potential Regions显示文摘Coalbed methane(CBM) resources in No.15 coal seam of Taiyuan Formation account for 55% of the total CBM resources in southern Qinshui Basin(SQB), and have a great production potential. This study aims at investigating the CBM production in No.15 coal seam and its influence factors. Based on a series of laboratory experiments and latest exploration and development data from local coal mines and CBM companies, the spatial characteristics of gas production of No.15 coal seam were analyzed and then the influences of seven factors on the gas productivity of this coal seam were discussed, including coal thickness, burial depth, gas content, ratio of critical desorption pressure to original coal reservoir pressure(RCPOP), porosity, permeability, and hydrogeological condition. The influences of hydrological condition on CBM production were analyzed based on the discussions of four aspects: hydrogeochemistry, roof lithology and its distribution, hydrodynamic field of groundwater, and recharge rate of groundwater. Finally, a three-level analytic hierarchy process(AHP) evaluation model was proposed for predicting the CBM potentials of the No.15 coal seam in the SQB. 11Semirigid vibrating rotor target calculation for reaction O(^(3)P)+CH_(4)→CH_(3)+OH显示文摘The unstable nucleus 5He emission has never been included in the widely used statistical model codes as the evaluation tool and interpretation experimental data. The calculated threshold energies of 5He emission from light nuclei to heavy nuclei indicate that in most cases the compound nucleus induced by incident neutron would emit 5He rather than 3He. Since 5He is unstable and can be separated into n+a spontaneously, so neutron is produced in 5He emission process. The formulation of the double-differential cross section of the neutron from the two-body breakup process of emitted 5He is established. Because of the strong recoil effect, the energy balance is strictly taken into account to meet the needs in nuclear engineering. Further improvement of the statistical model calculation codes on this respect is proposed. 12Nasal delivery of broadly neutralizing antibodies protects mice from lethal challenge with SARS-CoV-2 delta and omicron variants显示文摘Multiple new variants of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-Co V-2)have constantly emerged,as the delta and omicron variants,which have developed resistance to currently gained neutralizing antibodies.This highlights a critical need to discover new therapeutic agents to overcome the variants mutations.Despite the availability of vaccines against coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19),the use of broadly neutralizing antibodies has been considered as an alternative way for the prevention or treatment of SARS-Co V-2 variants infection.Here,we show that the nasal delivery of two previously characterized broadly neutralizing antibodies(F61 and H121)protected K18-h ACE2 mice against lethal challenge with SARS-Co V-2 variants.The broadly protective efficacy of the F61 or F61/F121 cocktail antibodies was evaluated by lethal challenge with the wild strain(WIV04)and multiple variants,including beta(B.1.351),delta(B.1.617.2),and omicron(B.1.1.529)at 200or 1000 TCID_(50),and the minimum antibody administration doses(5-1.25 mg/kg body weight)were also evaluated with delta and omicron challenge.Fully prophylactic protections were found in all challenged groups with both F61 and F61/H121 combination at the administration dose of 20 mg/kg body weight,and corresponding mice lung viral RNA showed negative,with almost all alveolar septa and cavities remaining normal.Furthermore,low-dose antibody treatment induced significant prophylactic protection against lethal challenge with delta and omicron variants,whereas the F61/H121 combination showed excellent results against omicron infection.Our findings indicated the potential use of broadly neutralizing monoclonal antibodies as prophylactic and therapeutic agent for protection of current emerged SARS-Co V-2 variants infection.Jia Lu Qiangling Yin Rongjuan Pei Qiu Zhang Yuanyuan Qu Yongbing Pan Lina Sun Ding Gao Cuiqin Liang Jingwen Yang Wei Wu Jiandong Li Zongqiang Cui Zejun Wang Xinguo Li Dexin Li Shiwen Wang Kai Duan Wuxiang Guan Mifang Liang Xiaoming Yang 2022Virologica Sinica2022,37,2:4

14Large dipole moment induced efficient bismuth chromate photocatalysts for wide-spectrum driven water oxidation and complete mineralization of pollutants显示文摘Herein,a wide-spectrum(~678 nm)responsive Bi8(CrO4)O11 photocatalyst with a theoretical solar spectrum efficiency of 42.0%was successfully constructed.Bi8(CrO4)O11 showed highly efficient and stable photocatalytic water oxidation activity with a notable apparent quantum efficiency of 2.87%(420 nm),superior to many reported wide-spectrum driven photocatalysts.Most remarkably,its strong oxidation ability also enables the simultaneous degradation and complete mineralization for phenol,and its excellent performance is about 23.0 and 2.9 times higher than CdS and P25-TiO2,respectively.Its high activity is ascribed to the giant internal electric field induced by its large crystal dipole,which accelerates the rapid separation of photogenerated electron-hole pairs.Briefly,the discovery of wide-spectrum bismuth chromate and the mechanism of exponentially enhanced photocatalytic performance by increasing the crystal dipole throw light on improving solar energy conversion.Xianjie Chen Yuan Xu Xinguo Ma Yongfa Zhu 2020National Science Review2020,7,3:4
15Grazing exclusion-induced shifts,the relative importance of environmental filtering,biotic interactions and dispersal limitation in shaping desert steppe communities,northern China显示文摘Grazing exclusion is one of the most efficient approaches to restore degraded grassland but may negatively affects the recovery of species diversity. Changes in plant species diversity should be a consequence of the ecological assembly process. Local community assembly is influenced by environmental filtering, biotic interactions, and dispersal. However, how these factors potentially contribute to changes to species diversity is poorly understood, especially in harsh environments. In this study, two management sites within a Stipa breviflora desert steppe community(typical natural steppe) were selected in northern China. In one of the two management sites, grazing has been excluded since 2010 and in the other with open grazing by sheep. In August 2016, three plots were established and 100 sampling units were created within each plot in a 5 m×5 m area at the two management sites. To assess the effects of grazing exclusion on S. breviflora steppe, we analyzed the vegetation biomass, species diversity,soil organic carbon, and soil particle size distribution using paired T-tests. In addition, variation partitioning was applied to determine the relative importance of environmental filtering and dispersal limitation. Null mode analysis was used to quantify the influence of biotic interactions in conjunction with Eco Sim niche overlap and co-occurrence values. Our results demonstrated that(1) species diversity significantly decreased and the main improvements in soil quality occurred in the topsoil 0–10 cm after the grazing exclusion;(2) environmental filtering was important for community assembly between grazed and fenced grassland and this appears particularly true for soil particle size distribution, which may be well correlated with soil hydrological processes; and(3) however, competitive exclusion may play a significant role within the exclusion. The multiple pathways of assembly may collectively determine negative effects on the restoration of species diversity. Therefore, designers should be aware of the risk of reducing grazing exclusion-induced species diversity and account for manipulating processes. 16Powder electrochemical properties with different particle sizes of spinel LiAl_(0.05)Mn_(1.95)O_4 synthesized by sol-gel method显示文摘An Al-doped spinel lithium manganese oxide was prepared by the adipic acid-assisted sol-gel method at 800°C, and the cathode materials (LiAl0.05Mn1.95O4) with different particle sizes were obtained through ball milling. The effects of particle size on the electrochemical performance of LiAl0.05Mn1.95O4 samples were investigated by differential thermal analysis and thermogravimetry, X-ray diffraction, galvanostatic charge-discharge test, cyclic voltammetry, and electro- chemical impedance spectroscopy. 19Z-scheme CdS/WO_(3)on a carbon cloth enabling effective hydrogen evolution显示文摘Photocatalytic water splitting for hydrogen(H2)generation is a potential strategy to solve the problem of energy crisis and environmental deterioration.However,powder-like photocatalysts are difficult to recycle,and the agglomeration of particles would affect the photocatalytic activity.Herein,a direct Z-scheme CdS/WO_(3)composite photocatalyst was fabricated based on carbon cloth through a two-step process.With the support of carbon cloth,photocatalysts tend to grow uniformly for further applications.The experimental results showed that the H2 yield of adding one piece of CdS/WO_(3)composite material was 17.28μmol/h,which was 5.5 times as compared to that of pure CdS-loaded carbon cloth material.A cycle experiment was conducted to verify the stability of the asprepared material and the result demonstrated that the H2 generation performance of CdS/WO_(3)decreased slightly after 3 cycles.This work provides new ideas for the development of recyclable photocatalysts and has a positive significance for practical applications.Zehong XU Qiaohong ZHU Xinguo XI Mingyang XING Jinlong ZHANG 2021Frontiers in Energy2021,15,3:2
20Small interfering RNA delivery to the neurons near the amyloid plaques for improved treatment of Alzheimer’s disease显示文摘Gene therapy represents a promising treatment for the Alzheimer’s disease(AD). However,gene delivery specific to brain lesions through systemic administration remains big challenge. In our previous work, we have developed an siRNA nanocomplex able to be specifically delivered to the amyloid plaques through surface modification with both CGN peptide for the blood–brain barrier(BBB)penetration and QSH peptide for β-amyloid binding. But, whether the as-designed nanocomplex could indeed improve the gene accumulation in the impaired neuron cells and ameliorate AD-associated symptoms remains further study. Herein, we prepared the nanocomplexes with an siRNA against β-site amyloid precursor protein-cleaving enzyme 1(BACE1), the rate-limiting enzyme of Aβ production, as the therapeutic siRNA of AD. The nanocomplexes exhibited high distribution in the Aβ deposits-enriched hippocampus, especially in the neurons near the amyloid plaques after intravenous administration. In APP/PS1 transgenic mice, the nanocomplexes down-regulated BACE1 in both mRNA and protein levels,as well as Aβ and amyloid plaques to the level of wild-type mice. Moreover, the nanocomplexes significantly increased the level of synaptophysin and rescued memory loss of the AD transgenic mice without hematological or histological toxicity.
