| 1 | The study on the safety and efficacy of amnion graft for preventing the recurrence of moderate to severe intrauterine adhesions显示文摘Transcervical resection of adhesion(TCRA)is the standard treatment for the intrauterine adhesions,but the recurrence of adhesions is a tough problem for the gynecologist.In addition,the therapeutic strategy after TCRA about prevention of recurrence remains controversial especially for the patients with moderate to severe intrauterine adhesions(IUAs).Hence,we designed this study to explore the safety and efficacy of fresh amnion grafts for preventing the recurrence after TCRA for patients with moderate to severe IUAs.One hundred patients with moderate to severe IUAs who presented with a history of hypomenorrhea,amenorrhea and infertility were included in the study from January 2015 to December 2017.Patients were divided into amnion group(52 patients)and chitosan group(48 patients).Fresh amnion grafts or intrauterine injections of chitosan were administered after TCRA.Transvaginal ultrasonography(TVUS)and hysteroscopy were performed at the first and third month after the operation.The surgical procedures for all patients were completed successfully without relevant complications.In amnion group,8 patients exhibited relapse in the first month and 2 patients in three months after surgery;in chitosan group,23 women exhibited relapse in the first month and 18 patients in three months after surgery.Statistical analysis revealed that the recurrence rate of adhesion in amnion group was significantly lower than those of chitosan group in the first and three months after surgery(P1=0.000,P2=0.000).After TCRA,fresh amnion graft plays a significant role in preventing further adhesions than injections of chitosan. | Changjiang Li Aiqi Cai Congcong Sun Benyuan Wu Xinpei Chen Yanhua Mao Yingfeng Zhang Yating Gou Jie Yu Yuhan Wang Huanhuan Yu Jia Wang | 2020 | Genes & Diseases2020,7,2: | 11 |
| 2 | Chemical characteristics of haze particles in Xi'an during Chinese Spring Festival: Impact of fireworks burning显示文摘Fireworks burning releases massive fine particles and gaseous pollutants, significantly deteriorating air quality during Chinese Lunar New Year(LNY) period. To investigate the impact of the fireworks burning on the atmospheric aerosol chemistry, 1-hr time resolution of PM_(2.5) samples in Xi'an during the winter of 2016 including the LNY were collected and detected for inorganic ions, acidity and liquid water content(LWC) of the fine aerosols. PM_(2.5) during the LNY was 167 ± 87 μg/m^3, two times higher than the China National Ambient Air Quality Standard(75 μg/m^3). K^+(28 wt.% of the total ion mass) was the most abundant ion in the LNY period, followed by SO_4^(2-)(25 wt.%) and Cl-(18 wt.%). In contrast, NO_3^-(34 wt.%) was the most abundant species in the haze periods(hourly PM32-2.5> 75 μg/m), followed by SO_4(29.2 wt.%) and NH_4^+(16.3 wt.%), while SO_4^(2-)(35 wt.%) was the most abundant species in the clean periods(hourly PM_(2.5)< 75 μg/m^3), followed by NO_3^-(23.1 wt.%) and NH_4^+(11 wt.%). Being different from the acidic nature in the non-LNY periods, aerosol in the LNY period presented an alkaline nature with a pH value of 7.8 ± 1.3. LWC during the LNY period showed a robust linear correlation with K_2SO_4 and KCl, suggesting that aerosol hygroscopicity was dominated by inorganic salts derived from fireworks burning. | 6 | Rabies Virus Pseudotyped with CVS-N2C Glycoprotein as a Powerful Tool for Retrograde Neuronal Network Tracing显示文摘Efficient viral vectors for mapping and manipulating long-projection neuronal circuits are crucial in structural and functional studies of the brain. The SAD strain rabies virus with the glycoprotein gene deleted pseudotyped with the N2 C glycoprotein(SAD-RV(DG)-N2 C(G)) shows strong neuro-tropism in cell culture, but its in vivo efficiency for retrograde gene transduction and neuro-tropism have not been systematically characterized.We compared these features in different mouse brain regions for SAD-RV-N2 C(G) and two other widely-used retrograde tracers, SAD-RV(DG)-B19(G) and r AAV2-retro. We found that SAD-RV(DG)-N2 C(G) enhanced the infection efficiency of long-projecting neurons by^10 times but with very similar neuro-tropism, compared with SAD-RV(DG)-B19(G). On the other hand, SAD-RV(DG)-N2 C(G) had an infection efficiency comparable with r AAV2-retro, but a more restricted diffusion range, and broader tropism to different types and regions of longprojecting neuronal populations. | 12 | Unbiased transcriptomic analyses reveal distinet effects of immune deficiency in CNS function with and without injury显示文摘The mammalian central nervous system (CNS) is considered an immune privileged system as it is separated from the periphery by the blood brain barrier (BBB). Yet, immune functions have been postulated to heavily influence the functional state of the CNS, especially after injury or during neurodegeneration. There is controversy regarding whether adaptive immune responses are beneficial or detrimental to CNS injury repair. In this study, we utilized immunocompromised SCID mice and subjected them to spinal cord injury (SCI). We analyzed motor function, electrophysiology, histochemistry, and performed unbiased RNA-sequencing. SCID mice displayed improved CNS functional recovery compared to WT mice after SCI. Weighted gene-coexpression network analysis (WGCNA) of spinal cord transcriptomes revealed that SCID mice had reduced expression of immune function-related genes and heightened expression of neural transmission-related genes after SCI, which was confirmed by immunohistochemical analysis and was consistent with better functional recovery. Transcriptomic analyses also indicated heightened expression of neurotransmission-related genes before injury in SCID mice, suggesting that a steady state of immune-deficiency potentially led to CNS hyper-connectivity. Consequently, SCID mice without injury demonstrated worse performance in Morris water maze test. Taken together, not only reduced inflammation after injury but also dampened steady-state immune function without injury heightened the neurotransmission program, resulting in better or worse behavioral outcomes respectively. | 14 | Gelatin encapsulation of chloropicrin and 1,3-dichloropropene as fumigants for soilborne diseases in the greenhouse cultivation of cucumber and tomato显示文摘Combined use of chloropicrin(Pic) and 1,3-dicloropropene(1,3-D) is as effective as methyl bromide(MB) at controlling soilborne diseases in many trials and commercial uses. However, Pic and 1,3-D are both highly volatile and may pose strong exposure risks to humans and the environment. A gelatin capsule formulation containing Pic and 1,3-D has been developed to reduce exposure risks to workers and bystanders and improved application safety. We conducted two experiments in tomato and cucumber greenhouses located in Beijing and Qingdao, China, to study the efficacy of Pic plus 1,3-D gelatin capsules applied at different dosages and soil depths. Results indicated that both injection and gelatin capsules of Pic plus 1,3-D provided good control of soil nematodes and reduced disease index of Fusarium wilt and root-knot nematode. Plant yield of tomato and cucumber treated with gelatin capsules was similar to MB treatment. Based on our results, gelatin capsules applied at a soil depth of 15 cm provided better control of soilborne diseases and led to higher fruit yield compared to an application depth of 5 cm. | 16 | Modifying regeneration strategies classification to enhance the understanding of dominant species growth in fire-prone forest in Southwest China显示文摘Background:In fire-prone ecosystems,plant species having different post-fire regeneration strategies(PFRS)coexist at the local scale while showing different growth dynamics.To evaluate the effect of PFRS on species regeneration,we investigated the plant communities burned in different years in the central Yunnan Province,Southwest China.Several indicators describing plant growth and population importance were measured to compare the regeneration of four dominant tree species,including one facultative seeders(FS)and three obligate resprouters(OR).Partial correlation and mixed linear effect modeling were applied to disentangle the contribution of intrinsic and environmental factors to the interspecific variation in post-fire regeneration.Results:We identified two subtypes of plant growth strategy in the early post-fire stage for OR species;i.e.,number growth(ORþN)priority and height growth(ORþH)priority for sprouting stems.Generally,the FS and OR species varied in height growth rate with different temporal dynamics.The ORþN species occupied post-fire space horizontally with more resprouts and larger coverage than ORþH and FS species at the earlier stage.In contrast,the ORþH species generally had far less resprouts per clump,more variations in stem height and basal diameter.Factor analysis showed that the variation of post-fire plant regeneration was not effectively explained by environmental factors(R2<20%);however,the linear mixed models with the modified PFRS as a random effect substantially increased the explanation.Conclusions:The differentiated regeneration dynamics and growth priorities in the four dominant tree species indicated a critical dichotomy of habitat occupation strategy for the resprouter species during the early stage of post-fire forest restoration.Our study uncovered a trade-off between height versus number growth priority in the post-fire tree growth strategy and provides a novel perspective in understanding the living space occupying(niche partitioning)process and species coexistence in post-fire forest community assembly. | Caifang Luo Yueqiang Liu Zehao Shen Kang Yang Xinpei Wang Youxu Jiang | 2022 | Forest Ecosystems2022,9,1: | 0 |

| 19 | Fast tracking alien gene discovery by molecular markers in a late flowering Chinese cabbage-cabbage translocation line‘AT7–4'显示文摘Flowering time is an important agronomic trait of Chinese cabbage with late flowering being a primary breeding objective.In our previous work,we obtained Chinese cabbage-cabbage translocation lines that contained several beneficial cabbage genes.Cabbage-specific molecular markers show that these genes were coming from chromosome C01 of cabbage.In this study,we investigated the inheritance of flowering time in a couple of translocation lines and analyzed the transmission rate of molecular markers in the offspring.Consequently,we obtained the late flowering Chinese cabbage-cabbage translocation line‘AT7–4’in which the flowering time was later than that of‘85–1’by about 7 days under 4-week vernalization.Based on previous studies of the genomes of Chinese cabbage and cabbage,we located the cabbage-specific molecular markers that were closely linked at the top of the chromosome A01 in the F2mapping population generated by self-crossing F1s derived from a cross between the translocation line‘AT7–4’and Chinese cabbage‘14–36’.Five flowering-related genes in the alien fragment were found by functional annotation and their molecular markers were developed.This study lays the foundation for the future improvement of Chinese cabbage varieties using A-C translocation lines. | Hui Li Aixia Gu Daling Feng Na Li Rui Yang Xinpei Zhang Shuangxia Luo Umer Karamat Qianyun Wang Shuxin Xuan Xueping Chen Yin Lu Yanhua Wang Shuxing Shen Jianjun Zhao | 2023 | Horticultural Plant Journal2023,9,1: | 0 |
| 20 | Novel spontaneous myelodysplastic syndrome mouse model显示文摘Background:Myelodysplastic syndrome(MDS)is a group of disorders involving he-mopoietic dysfunction leading to leukemia.Although recently progress has been made in identifying underlying genetic mutations,many questions still remain.Animal models of MDS have been produced by introduction of specific mutations.However,there is no spontaneous mouse model of MDS,and an animal model to simulate natu-ral MDS pathogenesis is urgently needed.Methods:In characterizing the genetically diverse mouse strains of the Collaborative Cross(CC)we observed that one,designated JUN,had abnormal hematological traits.This strain was thus further analyzed for phenotypic and pathological iden-tification,comparing the changes in each cell population in peripheral blood and in bone marrow.Results:In a specific-pathogen free environment,mice of the JUN strain are rela-tively thin,with healthy appearance.However,in a conventional environment,they become lethargic,develop wrinkled yellow hair,have loose and light stools,and are prone to infections.We found that the mice were cytopenic,which was due to abnor-mal differentiation of multipotent bone marrow progenitor cells.These are common characteristics of MDS.Conclusions:A mouse strain,JUN,was found displaying spontaneous myelodysplas-tic syndrome.This strain has the advantage over existing models in that it develops MDS spontaneously and is more similar to human MDS than genetically modified mouse models.JUN mice will be an important tool for pathogenesis research of MDS and for evaluation of new drugs and treatments. | Weisha Li Lin Cao Mengyuan Li Xingjiu Yang Wenlong Zhang Zhiqi Song Xinpei Wang Lingyan Zhang Grant Morahan Chuan Qin Ran Gao | 2021 | Animal Models and Experimental Medicine2021,4,2: | 0 |
