1Ecological restoration and recovery in the wind-blown sand hazard areas of northern China: relationship between soil water and carrying capacity for vegetation in the Tengger Desert显示文摘The main prevention and control area for wind-blown sand hazards in northern China is about 320000 km2 in size and includes sandlands to the east of the Helan Mountain and sandy deserts and desert-steppe transitional regions to the west of the Helan Mountain.Vegetation recovery and restoration is an important and effective approach for constraining wind-blown sand hazards in these areas.After more than 50 years of long-term ecological studies in the Shapotou region of the Tengger Desert,we found that revegetation changed the hydrological processes of the original sand dune system through the utilization and space-time redistribution of soil water.The spatiotemporal dynamics of soil water was significantly related to the dynamics of the replanted vegetation for a given regional precipitation condition.The long-term changes in hydrological processes in desert areas also drive replanted vegetation succession.The soil water carrying capacity of vegetation and the model for sand fixation by revegetation in aeolian desert areas where precipitation levels are less than 200 mm are also discussed.LI XinRong ZHANG ZhiShan TAN HuiJuan GAO YanHong LIU LiChao WANG XinPing 2014Science China(Life Sciences)2014,57,5:39
2Patterns of shrub species richness and abundance in relation to environmental factors on the Alxa Plateau:Prerequisites for conserving shrub diversity in extreme arid desert regions显示文摘Shrub species are considered the dominant plants in arid desert ecosystems,unlike in semiarid steppe zones or in grassland ecosystems.On the Alxa Plateau,northern China,sparse vegetation with cover ranging from 15% to 30% is characterized mainly by multifarious shrubs because herbaceous species are strongly restricted by the extreme drought climate,wind erosion,overgrazing and sand burial.Patterns in shrub species richness and species abundance in relation to environmental conditions were examined by DCA(detrended correspondence analysis) and interpreted by a biplot.The rela-tionships between species diversity and environmental factors were examined using regression analyses.Our results show that the distributions of the shrub species in response to environmental conditions can be grouped into four ecological types,corresponding with the biological traits of the shrubs and their responses to the gradients of soil texture and soil water content.Patterns in species richness and species abundance were mainly determined by the deeper soil water content,instead of the soil texture as hypothesized by numerous studies in semiarid grasslands.With exception of the deeper soil water content,soil organic matter and total N content were positively correlated with species abundance,while pH was negatively correlated with it.These findings imply that it is vital for cur-rent shrub diversity conservation to reduce agricultural water use in the middle reaches of the Heihe River,which supplies water for the lower reaches in the western parts of the plateau,and to reduce the amount of groundwater exploitation and urban and oasis water use,to increase the water supply from Helan Mountain to the eastern desert of the Alxa Plateau.XinRong Li HuiJuan Tan MingZhu He XinPing Wang XiaoJun Li 2009Science China Earth Sciences2009,52,5:17
3Formation and obstacle avoidance control for multiagent systems显示文摘This paper considers the problems of formation and obstacle avoidance for multiagent systems.The objective is to design a term of agents that can reach a desired formation while avoiding collision with obstacles.To reduce the amount of information interaction between agents and target,we adopt the leader-follower formation strategy.By using the receding horizon control (RHC),an optimal problem is formulated in terms of cost minimization under constraints.Information on obstacles is incorporated online as sensed in a limited sensing range.The communication requirements between agents are that the followers should obtain the previous optimal control trajectory of the leader to each update time.The stability is guaranteed by adding a terminal-state penalty to the cost function and a terminal-state region to optimal problem.Finally,simulation studies are provided to verify the effectiveness of the proposed approach.Yan, Jing Guan, Xinping Luo, Xiaoyuan Tan, Fuxiao 2011控制理论与应用(英文版)2011,9,2:4

11Anthropogenic monoterpenes aggravating ozone pollution显示文摘Monoterpenes have been known to have a critical influence on air quality and climate change through their impact on the formation of fine particles.Here we present field evidence that monoterpene oxidations largely enhanced local ozone production in a regional site in eastern China.The observed monoterpene was most likely from biomass burning rather than biogenic emissions,as indicated by the high correlation with CO at night-time,and the observed ratio of these two species was consistent with previously determined values from biomass burning experiments.Fast monoterpene oxidations were determined experimentally based on direct radical measurements,leading to a daily ozone enhancement of 4-18 parts per billion by volume(ppb),which was 6%-16%of the total ozone production,depending on the speciation of monoterpenes.It demonstrates that the previously overlo oked anthropogenic monoterpenes make an important contribution to 0_(3) production in eastern China.The role could possibly be important at similar locations across China and other parts of the world that are characterized by massive emissions,especially where there are high NO_(x) levels.Our results highlight that anthropogenic monoterpenes should be taken into account when proceeding with the coordinated mitigation of O_(3) and particulate matter pollution.Haichao Wang Xuefei Ma Zhaofeng Tan Hongli Wang Xiaorui Chen Shiyi Chen Yaqin Gao Ying Liu Yuhan Liu Xinping Yang Bin Yuan Limin Zeng Cheng Huang Keding Lu Yuanhang Zhang 2022National Science Review2022,9,9:1

14Putting aniline radical cations in a bottle显示文摘Salts containing aniline radical cations have been isolated and characterized by electron paramagnetic resonance(EPR)spectroscopy, UV-Vis absorption spectroscopy and single crystal X-ray diffraction. The EPR spectra and theoretical calculations indicate the unpaired electron is delocalized on phenyl rings and nitrogen atoms. Both radical cations feature a quinoidal geometry with a partially double C–N bond, but are distinct in that the C–N bond is coplanar to the phenyl plane in one cation while deviates from the plane in the other due to steric crowding.
