3Numerical simulation and experimental study on electrothermal properties of carbon/glass fiber hybrid textile reinforced concrete显示文摘Carbon/glass fiber hybrid textile reinforced concrete is a relatively new composite material with good mechanical capacity and excellent electrical conductivity.Both small-scale slab heating experiments and numerical simulation are presented in this paper.Temperature variation curves obtained during heating indicate the effects of environmental temperature,heat-conducting layer thickness and electric heating power.Comparison of temperature rising between the situations with and without thermal isolation layer is given as well.The results indicate that the textile can form a good conductive heating network and generate enough heat to raise the temperature in the concrete when connected to a power supply,while the resistance of the slab remains stable during the heating.Numerical results are in good accordance with the experiments.Real time snow-melting experiment was conducted to verify the feasibility of deicing.The electrothermal properties of textile can be utilized for deicing and snow melting in a safe,environmentally friendly and efficient way.XU ShiLang YU WenTing SONG ShiDe 2011Science China(Technological Sciences)2011,54,9:8

6Prevention and Control Technology of Potato Soil-borne Diseases显示文摘In recent years,potato soil-borne diseases have occurred severely.The investigation shows that potato Fusarium wilt greatly affects potato yield,leading to a yield reduction rate of 21.8%.Potato powdery scab shows very mild symptoms on potato tuber,basically with no symptoms in some plots,but shows obvious symptoms on the root system.A large number of nodules which are produced on one side of the root system seriously affect water and fertilizer absorption function of the potato root system.Potato tubers expand slowly,leading to small potato tuber,low yield and low commodity rate.The fungus can survive in soil for more than 10 years.Potato soil-borne diseases are harmful and are difficult to control.Susceptible plants can be detected by high definition chromatographic control method and pathogen detection.For prevention and control of potato soil-borne diseases,first of all,disease-resistant varieties should be chosen and virus-free potato seeds are used for sowing.Secondly,metham and dazomet can be used to treat soil in order to prevent and control potato soil-borne diseases.The results showed that the dead seedling rate treated by metham was reduced from 35%to 12.5%compared with the blank control,and the yield was increased by 44.09 kg/ha,with an increase rate of 18.2%.Compared with the blank control,the dead seedling rate treated by dazomet was decreased from 35%to 7.5%,and the yield was increased by 38.10 kg/ha,with an increase rate of 15.7%.The soil treatment received obvious yield increase effect.Jie XU Wenting ZHU Li SUN 2022Asian Agricultural Research2022,14,5:1

8Social bookmarking behaviors of college students:A survey of Wuhan University Library users显示文摘Purpose: To have a better understanding of library users' social bookmarking behaviors, we conducted a survey of college students to examine how much attention they have paid to social bookmarking results, their social bookmarking motivations and behaviors on book sharing sites and in their library's OPAC,and their expectations to their library's social bookmarking service. Design/methodology/approach: A questionnaire survey was conducted to investigate social bookmarking behaviors and motivations of users of Wuhan University Library(WUL) on book sharing sites and in WUL's OPAC. A total of 700 questionnaires were distributed and 357 valid questionnaires were retrieved. SPSS was used for data analysis. Findings: The results revealed that there were differences between users' social bookmarking behaviors on book sharing sites and in the Library's OPAC. Users preferred to use tags than add tags on book sharing sites. The main tagging motivation on book sharing sites was for meeting users' specific needs such as collection management and book recommendations. As for the Library, the lack of publicity and promotion of the social bookmarking service led to insufficient use of the Library's service. Due to a lack of knowledge of the social bookmarking service, users did not care about the lectures or publicity campaigns about the Library's social bookmarking service. Research limitations: Because social bookmarking was not common among WUL users, and the questionnaires could be handed out to a limited number of people, it was hard to describe users' social bookmarking behaviors in the Library's OPAC by investigating a sample of 357 Library users, and therefore we only investigated users' social bookmarking behaviors on the book sharing sites. Practical implications: The survey results provide insights into library users' socialbookmarking behaviors and motivations. The study will help academic libraries improve theirsocial bookmarking service. Originality/value: In spite of growing popularity of social bookmarking sites,little has beenknown about the social bookmarking behaviors of library users. 10Key Technology for Virus-free Seed Potatoes Pre-elite Breeding显示文摘[Objectives]To establish a breeding system for pre-elite seed potatoes.[Methods]Shoot-tip seedlings were cultured with different medium,and then transplanted in different substrates.They were sprayed with nutrient solutions of different formulas.Potato minitubers were induced.[Results]The medium of MS+2.0 mg/L 6-BA,1.0 mg/L NAA+3%sugar was preferable for potato shoot tip culture.After virus detection,the virus-free potato seedlings were propagated.The medium composed of vermiculite,peat and perlite(1∶3∶1)was recommended for transplanting potato tissue culture seedlings in greenhouse.The three-dimensional spray method was used to produce pre-elite seed potatoes.The full-amount MS nutrient solution could increase the tuber number per plant to 55.Induction of minitubers is a better breeding technology for pre-elite seed potatoes.The optimal medium screened for induction of potato minitubers was MS+(5-7)mg/L 6-BA,with a dark culture duration of about 20 d.[Conclusions]The breeding technology established is suitable for the two-season cultivation areas in Zaozhuang.Jie XU Li SUN Wenting ZHU 2022Asian Agricultural Research2022,14,3:0
11Modulation Effects of the 3D Strain Microenvironment on Characteristics of Mesenchymal Stem Cell-Derived Exosomes显示文摘It is necessary to investigate the characteristics of Mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs)derived exosomes,and especially their application in tissue regeneration.Previous studies have shown that inflammatory stimulation enhanced the secretion of MSC-derived exosomes with stronger anti-inflammatory protein,cytokine profiles,and functional RNA via altering COX2/PGE2 pathway.Recently,accumulating evidence has also revealed that biophysical cues(especially biomechanical cues)in cell microenvironment have significant effects not only on cells but also on their exosomes.It has been reported that applying bi-axial strain to MSCs induces formation of a stiffer cytoskeleton through mTORC2 signaling,which biases against adipogenic differentiation and toward osteoblastogenesis.At the same time,For example,dimensionality,composition and stiffness of the extracellular matrix(ECM)has been proved to affect the size and composition of exosomes secreted by cancer cells.However,the effects of biomechanical cues in the three-dimensional(3D)microenvironment on stem cell-derived exosomes remains to be unveiled.Therefore,it is important to understand the roles of 3D cell mechanical microenvironment in regulating the characteristics of stem cell-derived exosomes and develop more efficient approaches to enhance their functions.This study aimed to explore the changes in characteristics of exosomes secreted by MSCs in periodontium in response to the matrix strain in 3D.Periodontal ligament stem cells(PDLSCs)were cultured in a 3D strain microenvironment engineered with microscale magnetically stretched collagen hydrogels.The morphology,particle distribution,marker protein expression of PDLSC-derived exosomes were analyzed.Then the pro-osteogenic property of exosomes was evaluated by assessing cell viability,proliferation,migration and osteogenic differentiation of target cells,for instance human bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells(hBMSCs).Detailed characterizations revealed that PDLSC-derived exosomes in the 3D strain mi-croenvironment were with similar morphology,particle distribution and surface markers.Notably,Exosomes secreted by PDLSCs in strain microenvironment were more endocytosed by hBMSCs and were more potent in improving proliferation and migration of hBMSCs,comparing with PDLSCs in non-strain environment.Alizarin red staining and molecular biology experiments confirmed that treatment of exosomes secreted by PDLSCs under mechanical stimulation led to a significant increase in osteogenic differentiation of hBMSCs in vitro.Meanwhile,in vivo study also indicated that PDLSC-derived exosomes obtained from the 3D strain microenvironment could obviously promote new bone formation.Our findings revealed that mechanical cues profoundly affected the characteristics of PDLSC-derived exosomes,especially for their bio-activity,providing a foundation for using the 3D mechanical microenvironment to enhance the osteo-inductive functions of stem cell-derived exosomes in cell-free therapy for bone regeneration.Yufei Ma Wenting Yu Feng Xu 2019医用生物力学2019,34,A01:0
12Advanced treatment of dyeing wastewater towards reuse by the combined Fenton oxidation and membrane bioreactor process显示文摘The performance of combined Fenton oxidation and membrane bioreactor (MBR) process for the advanced treatment of an effluent from an integrated dyeing wastewater treatment plant was evaluated. The experimental results revealed that under the optimum Fenton oxidation conditions (initial pH 5, H 2 O 2 dosage 17 mmol/L, and Fe 2+ 1.7 mmol/L) the average total organic carbon (TOC) and color removal ratios were 39.3% and 69.5% after 35 min of reaction, respectively. Results from Zahn-Wallens Test also represented that Fenton process was effective to enhance the biodegradability of the test wastewater. As for the further purification of MBR process, TOC removal capacity was examined at different hydraulic retention times (HRT) of 10, 18 and 25 hr. Under the optimum HRT of 18 hr, the average TOC concentration and color of the final MBR effluent were 16.8 mg/L and 2 dilution time, respectively. The sludge yield coefficient was 0.13 g MLSS/g TOC and TOC degradation rate was 0.078 kg TOC/(m 3 ·day). 13Detecting maize leaf water status by using digital RGB images显示文摘To explore the correlation between crop leaf digital RGB(Red,Green and Blue)image features and the corresponding moisture content of the leaf,a Canon digital camera was used to collect image information from detached leaves of heading-stage maize.A drying method was adopted to measure the moisture content of the leaf samples,and image processing technologies,including gray level co-occurrence matrices and grayscale histograms,was used to extract the maize leaf texture feature parameters and color feature parameters.The correlations of these feature parameters with moisture content were analyzed.It is found that the texture parameters of maize leaf RGB images,including contrast,correlation,entropy and energy,were not significantly correlated with moisture content.Thus,it was difficult to use these features to predict moisture content.Of the six groups of eigenvalues for the leaf color feature parameters,including mean,variance,energy,entropy,kurtosis and skewness,mean and kurtosis were found to be correlated with moisture content.Thus,these features could be used to predict the leaf moisture content.The correlation coefficient(R2)of the mean-moisture content relationship model was 0.7017,and the error of the moisture content prediction was within±2%.The R2 of the kurtosis-moisture content relationship model was 0.7175,and the error of the moisture content prediction was within±1.5%.The study results proved that RGB images of crop leaves could be used to measure moisture content.Han Wenting Sun Yu Xu Tengfei Chen Xiangwei Su Ki Ooi 2014International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2014,7,1:5
14S100 protein expression during induced Schwann cell-like cell differentiation of rat bone marrow mesenchymal cells in vitro显示文摘BACKGROUND: S100 protein can promote axonal growth. Therefore, transplantation of induced bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) that can secrete S100 may provide a beneficial microenvironment for neural regeneration. OBJECTIVE: To explore the changes in S100 expression during rat MSCs differentiation into Schwann cells in vitro. DESIGN, TIME AND SETTING: This cytology experiment was performed at the Jiangsu Key Laboratory of Neuroregeneration, Nantong University in China, from January 2006 to May 2007. MATERIALS: The rabbit anti-S100 polyclonal antibody was purchased from Dako, Denmark; the mouse anti-rat S100 monoclonal antibody was purchased from Sigma, USA. METHODS: MSCs were cultured from adult Sprague-Dawley rat femur and tibia. Cell proliferation was determined by the MTT method and CD markers, and cell cycle was meas-ured by flow cytometry. MSCs were induced to differentiate into SC cells. SC cells were stained for S100 protein, glial fibrillary acidic protein, and low-affinity nerve growth factor receptor. S100 protein and mRNA levels were evaluated by flow cytometry, Western blot, and reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: S100 protein and mRNA expression. RESULTS: MSCs exhibited high amplification potential over eight passages. Prior to induction, the majority of MSCs were at the G0/G1 phase of the cell cycle. After induction, MSCs displayed morphology changes similar to Schwann cells. Moreover, induction increased S100 mRNA levels. Immunofluorescence showed that MSCs expressed S100 protein, glial fibrillary acidic protein, and low-affinity nerve growth factor receptor at 7 days of induction. Induction also increased S100 protein levels compared with untreated MSCs. 15Distribution of shrublands in relation to soil and climate in mid-subtropical China显示文摘Aims Understanding relationships between vegetation and environments is of importance for ecosystem restoration and management.However,information on how environments influence the floristic patterns of shrublands is lack,especially in the subtropical China.In this study,we explored how environments regulate species composition of shrublands at landscape scale in mid-subtropical China.Methods We investigated species composition and measured the climate and soil environments for 207 shrubland plots in mid-subtropical China(24°39′-30°08′N,108°47′-114°15′E).We applied a hierarchical cluster analysis and indicator species analysis based on the Bray-Curtis similarity index to identify the main shrubland types and employed principal coordinate analysis(PCoA)to explore the relationship between floristic composition and environment.Important Findings We identified four shrubland types occurring in different environmental conditions.Montane shrubland,dominated by species suitable for cool climates(e.g.Rhododendron simsii),were distributed in steep areas at comparatively high altitudes;foothill shrubland,dominated by mesophilous species(e.g.Loropetalum chinense),were distributed in low mountains and hills;pioneer shrubland,dominated by fast grow and short-life cycles species(e.g.Rhus chinensis),were distributed at low altitudes with dense population;and finally,limestone shrubland,dominated by calcicole plants(e.g.Coriaria nepalensis),were distributed in the extensive karst areas.Communities occurring in high pH soils were completely separated from those in low pH soils according to the hierarchical cluster analysis.PCoA ordination associated the four types with distinct edaphic and climatic gradients.Soil pH explained 63.3%of variation in PCoA,followed by soil depth and soil bulk density.Jiaxiang Li Gaoming Xiong Wenting Xu Zongqiang Xie 2016Journal of Plant Ecology2016,9,4:1

17Soil organic carbon saturation deficit under primary agricultural managements across major croplands in China显示文摘Introduction:To generate information for the effective management of soil organic carbon(SOC)sequestration in Chinese croplands,we compared the additional organic carbon(C)that can be stabilized by fine soil particles(<20μm)with typical fertilization practices across soil types and climate zones.Using data from 30 long-term experimental study sites across the major agricultural zones in China,we estimated stable SOC saturation deficit(SOC_(deficit))under no fertilization(CK),chemical fertilization(CF),straw plus CF(S+CF),and manure plus CF(M+CF).Stable SOC_(deficit)was defined as the difference between potential and current SOC stabilized by fine soil particles.Outcomes:Stable SOC_(deficit)values varied from 51%to 82%.Soils dominated by 2:1 clay minerals showed larger stable SOC_(deficit)than soils dominated by 1:1 clay minerals under each treatment.For soils dominated by 2:1 clay minerals,stable SOC_(deficit)was significantly lower under M+CF(69%)than under CK,CF,and S+CF(78-82%)treatments,and it increased with increasing mean annual temperature(<10°C).In soils dominated by 1:1 clay minerals,stable SOC_(deficit)was considerably lower in paddy and paddy-upland than in upland soils,suggesting that paddies effectively stabilize C inputs.Discussion:Agricultural soils in China have considerable C sequestration potential,despite decades of fertilization practices.To manage soil C sequestration and model soil C dynamics effectively,factors such as soil mineral types,fertilization,and cropland use should be considered.Conclusion:Our results demonstrated that manure addition was the best fertilization method for improving soil fertility,whereas straw return in Chinese croplands should take into account climate mitigation in future.Jiaying Di Wenting Feng Wenju Zhang Andong Cai Minggang Xu 2017Ecosystem Health and Sustainability2017,3,7:1
