6Enhanced Bioenergy Transformation by Metal-Free Electrozyme-Based Mitochondrion Nanoarchitectonics显示文摘Herein,we couple a synthetic electrozyme in a supramolecule-assembled nanoarchitecture to achieve enhanced bioenergy transformation by mimicking mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation.Different from the natural counterpart,the metal-free electrozyme is a semiconducting polymer deposited on an electrode.The wellmatched electrocatalytic property of the electrozyme permits oxidization of reduced nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide(NADH)to release protons under a much lower electric potential.As a consequence,the generated proton gradient drives rotary catalysis of adenosine 5′-triphosphate(ATP)synthase reconstituted in a lipid membrane to produce ATP.Remarkably,electrochemical bioenergy conversion of NADH to ATP is accomplished with much higher efficiency in such a bio-like system compared with the natural mitochondria.This work integrates synthetic and natural catalytic chemistry to facilitate enhanced bioenergy transformation,thereby greatly improving prospects in ATP-fueled bioapplications.Tonghui Wang Jinbo Fei Zhenzhen Dong Xia Xu Weiguang Dong Junbai Li 2023CCS Chemistry2023,5,7:0
7Black Phosphorus Nanosheets Enhance Photophosphorylation by Positive Feedback显示文摘We construct a natural-artificial hybrid architecture containing black phosphorus nanosheets(BPNS)to enhance photosynthesis of chloroplast in a positive-feedback manner.In this architecture,oxygen yielded by photosynthesis during water splitting by photosystemⅡpromotes the photoreaction of BPNS to produce proton and inorganic phosphate(Pi).Further,transmembrane proton gradient is increased to drive ATP synthase to synthesize ATP.Meanwhile,additional photogenerated electrons produced by BPNS are transferred to the photosynthesis process.As a consequence,photosynthesis performed by chloroplast is improved.Quantitatively,photophosphorylation efficacy of the hybrid system is increased by 1.89 times in the case of Pi deficiency.This work offers a new path to enhance solar-to-chemical energy conversion,holding promise in boosting natural photosynthesis.Zhenzhen Dong Jinbo Fei Tonghui Wang Xia Xu Weiguang Dong Junbai Li 2022Chinese Journal of Chemistry2022,40,8:0
8Boosting alkaline hydrogen electrooxidation on an unconventional fcc-Ru polycrystal显示文摘Precisely controlling the crystalline phase structure and exposed facets at the atomic level opens up a new avenue for efficient catalyst design.Along this line,we report an unconventional face-centered cubic(fcc)Ru with twinned structure and stacking-fault defects as a competent electrocatalyst towards alkaline hydrogen oxidation reaction(HOR),which is now a major obstacle for the commercialization of anion exchange membrane fuel cells(AEMFC).With conventional hexagonal close packing(hcp)Ru as the counterpart,a novel scope from the phase-engineering is introduced to identify the activity origin and provide fundamental understanding of the sluggish HOR kinetics in alkaline medium.Systematic electrochemical analysis assisted by deconvoluting the hydrogen(H)desorption peaks indicates the superior performance of fcc Ru origins from the structure defects and higher proportion of the most active sites.DFT calculations,together with CO-stripping voltammograns further corroborate the stronger hydroxyl species(OH^(*))affinity lead to the higher activity on these sites.Meanwhile,it also demonstrates the H^(*)adsorption/desorption on polycrystalline Ru among the conventional'hydrogen region'is accompanied by the surface bound OH^(*)in alkaline medium,which is of great significance for subsequent alkaline HOR exploration and catalyst design.Tonghui Zhao Dongdong Xiao Yi Chen Xi Tang Mingxing Gong Shaofeng Deng Xupo Liu Jianmin Ma Xu Zhao Deli Wang 2021Journal of Energy Chemistry2021,30,10:0
9Network pharmacology analysis of the mechanisms of Banxia Xiexin Decoction against Ulcerative Colitis显示文摘Banxia Xiexin Decoction(BXXXD),a traditional herbal formula,has been used to treat ulcerative colitis(UC)clinically.In this study,chemical compounds and putative targets of BXXXD and UC related therapeutic targets were screened from multiple databases.The protein-protein interaction(PPI)was conducted using String database,and 31 candidate targets were screened from CytoNCA database.The Database for Annotation,Visualization and Integrated Discovery(DAVID)and Metascape database were used for Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes(KEGG)channel and Gene Ontology(GO)enrichment analysis respectively,and the enrichment analysis results were visualized by OmicShare platform.Meanwhile,the interaction network among Chinese herbs,active compounds,candidate targets and pathways was built by Cytoscape 3.7.2 software,and the potential compounds of BXXXD in the treatment of UC were screened.Finally,molecular docking technology was used to verify the putative key compounds.Combined with literature research,5 key compounds for the treatment of UC were identified,which are mainly involved in TNF signaling pathway,cancer signaling pathway,inflammatory bowel disease(IBD),Toll-like receptor signaling pathway,and NF-κB signaling pathway.This study provides a scientific basis for BXXXD as an effective alternative therapeutic agent for UC from a new perspective,and also provides a feasible method for basic chemical research and pharmacological research of BXXXD.Shuang Xu Tonghui Yu Dan Yuan 2021Asian Journal of Traditional Medicines2021,16,3:0
10Synergetic N-doped carbon with MoPd alloy for robust oxygen reduction reaction显示文摘Synergistic catalysis opens up a new venue to improve the comprehensive application of the catalyst.Herein,a composite catalyst(Mo-Pd@N-C)consisting of the N-doped carbon derived from pyrolysis of spherical polypyrrole and MoPd nanoparticles(NPs)was constructed to emphasize the strong metal-support interaction for robust oxygen reduction reaction(ORR).The enhanced anchoring between the MoPd NPs and the substrate,and the N-species formed on the carbon matrix make the Mo-Pd@N-C deliver excellent performance with a half-wave potential of 0.945 V(vs.reversible hydrogen electrode(RHE))for ORR,superior than that of commercial Pt/C(0.86 V).More importantly,it shows a negligible half-wave potential decline(<5 mV)and only~20%of mass activity(MA)attenuation after 30,000 cycles stability test,obviously better than those of Pt/C(~70%of MA attenuation and~30 mV of half-wave potential decline after only 15,000 cycles).This work highlights a novel synergistic method to prolong the life and improve the commercial prospects of the catalysts.Chaojie Cen Wenjing Tang Tonghui Zhao Yun Song Yun Yang Quanlong Xu Wei Chen 2023Nano Research2023,16,7:0
