1Accumulation of soil organic carbon during natural restoration of desertified grassland in China's Horqin Sandy Land显示文摘China's Horqin Sandy Land,a formerly lush grassland,has experienced extensive desertification that caused considerable carbon(C) losses from the plant-soil system.Natural restoration through grazing exclusion is a widely suggested option to sequester C and to restore degraded land.In a desertified grassland,we investigated the C accumulation in the total and light fractions of the soil organic matter from 2005 to 2013 during natural restoration.To a depth of 20 cm,the light fraction organic carbon(LFOC) storage increased by 221 g C/m2(84%) and the total soil organic carbon(SOC) storage increased by 435 g C/m2(55%).The light fraction dry matter content represented a small proportion of the total soil mass(ranging from 0.74% in 2005 to 1.39% in 2013),but the proportion of total SOC storage accounted for by LFOC was remarkable(ranging from 33% to 40%).The C sequestration averaged 28 g C/(m2·a) for LFOC and 54 g C/(m2·a) for total SOC.The total SOC was strongly and significantly positively linearly related to the light fraction dry matter content and the proportions of fine sand and silt+clay.The light fraction organic matter played a major role in total SOC sequestration.Our results suggest that grazing exclusion can restore desertified grassland and has a high potential for sequestering SOC in the semiarid Horqin Sandy Land.YuQiang LI XueYong ZHAO FengXia ZHANG Tala AWADA ShaoKun WANG HaLin ZHAO TongHui ZHANG YuLin LI 2015Journal of Arid Land2015,7,3:21

The main orogenic-metallogenic epoch is the Hercynian (Late Palaeozoic). Hercynian orogeny underwent two tectonic stages: the early volcano-passive continental margin extension (D1-D2) and late subduction-collision (D3-P). There correspondingly developed two different metallogenic systems. One is the stratabound massive sulphide and iron metallogenic system related to volcano-passive continental margin, and the other is the epigenetic gold and granite-associated rare metals system formed by collision. 5Highly active N-doped carbon encapsulated Pd-Fe intermetallic nanoparticles for the oxygen reduction reaction显示文摘Developing highly efficient non-R catalysts for fuel cells and metal-air batteries is highly desirable but still challenging due to the sluggish oxygen reduction reaction(ORR).Herein,a facile and efficient strategy is demonstrated to prepare N-doped carbon encapsulated ordered Pd-Fe intermetallic(O-Pd-Fe@NC/C)nanoparticles via a one-step thermal annealing method.The obtained O-Pd-Fe@NC/C nanoparticles show enhanced ORR activity,durability and anti-poisoning capacity in both acid and alkaline medium.When O-Pd-Fe@NC/C serving as cathode catalyst for Zn-air battery,it exhibits higher voltage platform and superior cycling performance with respect to the Zn-air battery based on the mixture of Pt/C and Ir/C catalysts.The enhanced electrocatalytic performance can be ascribed to the formation of face-centered tetragonal(fct)Pd-Fe nanoparticles,the protective action of the N-doped carbon layer and the interface confinement effect between them.The in situ formed N-doped carbon shell not only restrains the Pd-Fe ordered intermetallics from aggregating effectively during the thermal annealing process,but also provides a strong anchoring effect to avoid the detachment of Pd-Fe nanoparticles from the carbon support during the potential cycling.This facile carbon encapsulation strategy may also be extended to the preparation of a wide variety of N-doped carbon encapsulated intermetallic compounds for fuel cell application.Yezhou Hu Yun Lu Xueru Zhao Tao Shen Tonghui Zhao Mingxing Gong Ke Chen Chenglong Lai Jian Zhang Huolin L.Xin Deli Wang 2020Nano Research2020,13,9:3
6Afforestation effects on soil microbial abundance, microbial biomass carbon and enzyme activity in dunes of Horqin Sandy Land, northeastern China显示文摘In order to investigate the effects of afforestation on soil microbial abundance, microbial biomass carbon and enzyme activity in sandy dunes, 20-year-old Pinus sylvestris var. mongolica Litv. (PSM) and Populus simonii Carrière (PSC) mature forests were selected in Horqin Sandy Land, and mobile dunes was set as a control (CK). Results show that PSM and PSC plantations can improve soil physicochemical properties and significantly increase microbiological activity in mobile dunes. Soil microbial abundance, microbial biomass carbon and enzyme activity show an order of PS>PSM>CK. Total soil microbial abundance in PSM and PSC was respectively 50.16 and 72.48 times more than that in CK, and the differences were significant among PSM, PSC and CK. Soil microbial biomass carbon in PSM and PSC was respectively 23.67 and 33.34 times more than that in CK, and the difference was insignificant between PSM and PSC. Soil enzyme activity, including dehydrogenase (DEH), peroxidase (PER), protease (PRO), urease (URE) and cellobiohydrolase (CEL) in PSM and PSC were respectively 19.00 and 27.54, 4.78 and 9.89, 4.05 and 8.67, 29.93 and 37.46, and 9.66 and 13.42 times of that in CK. P. sylvestris and P. simonii can effectively improve soil physicochemical and microbiological properties in sandy dunes and fix mobile dunes in Horqin Sandy Land. 7Facile self-template fabrication of hierarchical nickel-cobalt phosphide hollow nanoflowers with enhanced hydrogen generation performance显示文摘Developing facile methods to construct hierarchical-structured transition metal phosphides is beneficial for achieving high-efficiency hydrogen evolution catalysts.Herein,a self-template strategy of hydrothermal treatment of solid Ni-Co glycerate nanospheres followed by phosphorization is delivered to synthesize hierarchical Ni Co P hollow nanoflowers with ultrathin nanosheet assembly.The microstructure of Ni Co P can be availably tailored by adjusting the hydrothermal treatment temperature through affecting the hydrolysis process of Ni-Co glycerate nanospheres and the occurred Kirkendall effect.Benefitting from the promoted exposure of active sites and affluent mass diffusion routes,the HER performance of the Ni Co P hollow nanoflowers has been obviously enhanced in contrast with the solid Ni Co P nanospheres.The fabricated Ni Co P hollow nanoflowers yield the current density of 10 m A cmà2at small overpotentials of 95 and 127 m V in 0.5 mol Là1H2SO4and 1.0 mol Là1KOH solution,respectively.Moreover,the two-electrode alkaline cell assembled with the Ni Co P and Ir/C catalysts exhibits sustainable stability for overall water splitting.The work provides a simple but efficient method to regulate the microstructure of transition metal phosphides,which is helpful for achieving high-performance hydrogen evolution catalysts based on solid-state metal alkoxides.Xupo Liu Shaofeng Deng Peifang Liu Jianing Liang Mingxing Gong Chenglong Lai Yun Lu Tonghui Zhao Deli Wang 2019Science Bulletin2019,64,22:2
8Ore-forming Fluid and Mineral Source of the Hongshi Copper Deposit in the Kalatage Area, East Tianshan, Xinjiang, NW China显示文摘The Hongshi copper deposit is located in the middle of the Kalatage ore district in the northern segment of the Dananhu-Tousuquan island-arc belt in East Tianshan, Xinjiang, NW China. This study analyses the fluid inclusions and H, O, and S stable isotopic compositions of the deposit. The fluid-inclusion data indicate that aqueous fluid inclusions were trapped in chalcopyrite-bearing quartz veins in the gangue minerals. The homogenization temperatures range from 108°C to 299°C, and the salinities range from 0.5% to 11.8%, indicating medium to low temperatures and salinities. The trapping pressures range from 34.5 MPa to 56.8 MPa. The δ^(18)O_(H_2O) values and δD values of the fluid range from -6.94‰ to -5.33‰ and from -95.31‰ to -48.20‰, respectively. The H and O isotopic data indicate that the ore-forming fluid derived from a mix of magmatic water and meteoric water and that meteoric water played a significant role. The S isotopic composition of pyrite ranges from 1.9‰ to 5.2‰, with an average value of 3.1‰, and the S isotopic composition of chalcopyrite ranges from -0.9‰ to 4‰, with an average value of 1.36‰, implying that the S in the ore-forming materials was derived from the mantle. The introduction of meteoric water decreased the temperature, volatile content, and pressure, resulting in immiscibility. These factors may have been the major causes of the mineralization of the Hongshi copper deposit. 9Seasonal changes in the relationship between species richness and community biomass in grassland under grazing and exclosure, Horqin Sandy Land, northern China显示文摘How species diversity-productivity relationships respond to temporal dynamics and land use is still not clear in semi-arid grassland ecosystems. We analyzed seasonal changes of the relationships between vegetation cover, plant density, species richness, and above-ground biomass in grasslands under grazing and exclosure in the Horqin Sandy Land of northern China. Our results showed that in grazed and fenced grassland, vegetation cover, richness, and biomass were lower in April than in August, whereas plant density showed a reverse trend. Vegetation cover during the growing season and biomass in June and August were higher in fenced grassland than in grazed grassland, whereas plant density in April and June was lower in fenced grassland than in grazed grassland. A negative relationship between species richness and biomass was found in August in fenced grassland, and in grazed grassland the relationship between plant density and biomass changed from positive in April to negative in August. The relationship between the density of the dominant plant species and the total biomass also varied with seasonal changes and land use (grazing and exclosure). These results suggest that long-term grazing, seasonal changes, and their interaction significantly influence vegetation cover, plant density, and biomass in grasslands. Plant species competition in fenced grassland results in seasonal changes of the relationship between species richness and biomass. Long-term grazing also affects seasonal changes of the density and biomass of dominant plant species, which further affects the seasonal relationship between plant density and biomass in grasslands. 15Enhancing Dehydration Performance of Isopropanol by Introducing Intermediate Layer into Sodium Alginate Nanofibrous Composite Pervaporation Membrane显示文摘A novel three-tier composite membrane based on highly porous nanofibrous substrate was demonstrated for efficient iso-propanol dehydration by pervaporation.Here,polyethyleneimine(PEI)modified graphene oxide(GO)sheets were vacuum-assistant assembled onto porous electrospun polyacrylonitrile(PAN)nanofibrous substrate to achieve a smooth,hydrophilic and compact PEI-GO intermediate layer.The introduction of PEI chains endowed GO interlayer with sufficient interaction for bonding adjacent GO nanosheets to enhance stability in water/isopropanol mixture and also with the ascended inter-lamellar space to improve the water-sorption ability due to the abundant active amino groups.Benefiting from PEI-GO layer,a defect-free sodium alginate(SA)skin layer could be facilely manufactured with elaborately controlled thickness as thin as possible in order to reduce mass transfer resistant and enhance permeability maximally.Meanwhile,the interlayer would also contribute to enhance interfacial adhesion to promote the structure integrity of three-tier thin-film nanofibrous composite(TFNC)membrane in pervaporation dehydration process.After fine-tuning of membrane preparation process,the SA/PEI(75)-GO-60/PAN TFNC membrane exhibited competitive pervaporation performance with the permeate flux of 2009 g/m2 h and the separation factor of 1276 operated at 70°C for dehydration of 90 wt%isopropanol solution.The unique three-tier composite membrane structure suggested an effective and facile approach to design novel membrane structure for further improvement of pervaporation performance.Peiyun Li Cheng Cheng Ke Shen Tonghui Zhang Xuefen Wang Benjamin S.Hsiao 2019Advanced Fiber Materials2019,1,2:1
16Coordination of Copper Ion Crosslinked Composite Beads with Enhanced Toxins Adsorption and Thin‑Film Nanofbrous Composite Membrane for Realizing the Lightweight Hemodialysis显示文摘In this study,a novel copper ion(Cu^(2+))crosslinked composites beads with components of sodium alginate(SA)as gel matrix and UiO-66-(COOH)_(2) metal organic framework(MOF)nanoparticle as functional fller could efectively adsorb toxins in dialysate.The maximum adsorption capacity of the optimized composite beads(Cu-SA/U-4)for creatinine reached 125.0 mg/g with a positive synergistic efect based on Langmuir isotherm model and pseudo-second-order kinetic model,which was 1.75 times and 1.50 times that of single component beads(Cu-SA)and UiO-66-(COOH)_(2) nanoparticle respectively.Furthermore,when the dialysis performance using thin-flm nanofbrous composite(TFNC)membrane was comparable,introduction of Cu-SA/U-4 beads into the dialysate allowed the volume of dialysate reduced to one-tenth of that without beads.Therefore,the coordination of such highly efcient adsorbent beads and TFNC dialysis membrane can economize the usage of the dialysate and contributes to realize lightweight hemodialysis.More importantly,we not only prepared a kind of composite bead via carefully designed strategy,but also proposed widely applicable idea of using adsorbents in combination with dialysis membrane to realize lightweight or miniaturized hemodialysis.Siping Ding Peiyun Li Tonghui Zhang Xuefen Wang 2022Advanced Fiber Materials2022,4,3:1

18Insight into the hydrogen oxidation electrocatalytic performance enhancement on Ni via oxophilic regulation of MoO_(2)显示文摘Exploring platinum-group-metal(PGM)free electrocatalysts for hydrogen oxidation reaction(HOR)in alkaline media is essential to the progress of anion exchange membrane fuel cells(AEMFCs).In this work,a Ni/MoO_(2) heterostructure catalyst with comparable HOR activity in alkaline electrolyte with PGM catalyst was prepared by a simple hydrothermal-reduction method.Remarkably,the Ni/MoO_(2) presents a mass kinetic current density of 38.5 mA mgNi^(-1) at the overpotential of 50 mV,which is higher than that of the best PGM free HOR catalyst reported by far.Moreover,the HOR performance of Ni/MoO_(2) under 100 ppm CO shows negligible fading,together with the superior durability,render it significant potential for application in AEMFCs.A particular mechanistic study indicates that the excellent HOR performance is ascribed to the accelerated Volmer step by the incorporation of MoO_(2).The function of MoO_(2) was further confirmed by CO striping experiment on Pt/C-MoO_(2) that MoO_(2) can facilitated OH adsorption thus accelerate the HOR process.On account of the high performance and low cost,the Ni/MoO_(2) electrocatalyst encourages the establishment of high performance PGM free catalyst and shows significant potential for application in AEMFCs.Shaofeng Deng Xupo Liu Xuyun Guo Tonghui Zhao Yun Lu Jingyu Cheng Ke Chen Tao Shen Ye Zhu Deli Wang 2021Journal of Energy Chemistry2021,30,3:0
19Realizing the Long Lifespan of Molybdenum Trioxide in Aqueous Aluminum Ion Batteries Through Potential Regulation显示文摘MoO_(3) is one of the most promising anode materials for aqueous aluminum batteries due to its high theoretical capacity and suitable aluminum insertion/de-insertion potential.However,the inferior cycling stability limits its further application,and the failure mechanism is still unclear.In this article,we provide a straightforward potential regulation technique to manage phase evolution during the charge/discharge process,which ultimately results in a markedly enhanced MoO_(3) electrode cycling stability.The failure mechanism study reveals that the excessive oxidation of the electrode during charge/discharge generates the H_(0.34)MoO_(3) phase,which has high solubility and is the primary cause of MoO_(3) deactivation.Although the dissolved Mo species will be deposited onto the electrode sheet again,the deposition is not electrochemically active and cannot contribute to the capacitance.Controlling the cutoff potential prevented the production of H_(0.34)MoO_(3),resulting in excellent cycling performance(80.1% capacity retention after 4000 cycles).The as-assembled α-MoO_(3)//MnO_(2) full battery exhibits high discharge plateaus(1.4 and 0.9 V),large specific capacity(200 mAhg^(-1) at 2 Ag^(-1)),and ultra-high coulombic efficiency(99%).The research presented here may contribute to the development of highly stable electrode materials for aqueous batteries.Haodong Fan Xuejin Li Jie Zhou Xiaoning Wang Xiuli Gao Haoyu Hu Li Zhou Tonghui Cai Yongpeng Cui Pengyun Liu Qingzhong Xue Zifeng Yan Wei Xing 2023Renewables2023,1,4:0
20Formation and Evolution of Chromitites in the Hongshishan Complex,Beishan Orogenic Collage,NW China:Constraints from Mineralogical Compositions,Re-Os Isotopes and Platinum-Group Element Geochemistry显示文摘The Hongshishan chromitite deposits are situated to the north of the Beishan orogenic collage,in the southern part of the Central Asian Orogenic Belt.This study describes the mineral chemistry,Re-Os isotopes and platinum-group elements geochemistry of the Hongshishan chromitites for the purpose of constraining the origin,evolution and composition of their parental melts.The restricted ranges of Al_(2)O_(3),Cr_(2)O_(3)and Cr#-Mg#variation of chromite-cores and chromites fall within the field of the mid-ocean ridge and ophiolitic podiform chromite settings.The(^(187)Os/^(188)Os)i ratios of the chromitites are in the range of 0.12449–0.12745(average 0.12637)and theγOs are from-1.92 to-0.06(average-0.83).In the Re-Os isotope diagrams,all the samples fall in the field of chromitites and show a residual peridotitic trend.The range of Os isotopic compositions andγOs values indicate that they overlap the depleted MORB mantle(DMM)as well as being close to global Os isotopic data andγOs of ophiolite chromitites.The characteristics of the PGE contents can be roughly subdivided into two groups:podiform chromitites and Ural-Alaskan type complexes.For the ferritchromite cores,the calculated Al_(2)O_(3)concentrations of the parental melt are higher(average 16.65 wt%)in high-Cr than high-Al chromitite(average 16.17 wt%)and for the chromite,the calculated Al_(2)O_(3)concentrations are even higher(average 16.48 wt%)in the high-Cr than the high-Al examples(average 15.38 wt%).In the(TiO_(2))melt vs.TiO_(2)diagrams,most high-Al melts fall in the MORB,while the high-Cr melts fall in the ARC field.The calculated Fe O/Mg O ratios for the parental melt show the closest resemblance to a MORB magma composition.The inferred parental melt composition for studied chromitites falls in the field of mid-ocean ridge basalt(MORB)magmas and far away from boninite.The calculated degrees of partial melting producing the chromitites are 16%-22%(average 19%),which is around the range of those of the MORB magmas.The chromitites are suggested to have been formed in a MORB setting.The chromites and ferritchromite cores are mostly scattered along the MORB and SSZ harzburgite–dunite fields.Ferritchromite rims and ferritchromites with high YFes formed as a result of alteration during serpentinization..WANG Zhaolin YAN Jiayong ZHENG Xiaoming TANG Hejun YUAN Lulu DENG Zhen FANG Tonghui 2023Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2023,97,3:0
