Minimal invasive microscopic tooth preparation in esthetic restoration: a specialist consensus显示文摘By removing a part of the structure, the tooth preparation provides restorative space, bonding surface, and finish line for various restorations on abutment.Preparation technique plays critical role in achieving the optimal result of tooth preparation. With successful application of microscope in endodontics for>30 years, there is a full expectation of microscopic dentistry. However,as relatively little progress has been made in the application of microscopic dentistry in prosthodontics, the following assumptions have been proposed:Is it suitable to choose the tooth preparation technique under the naked eye in the microscopic vision? Is there a more accurate preparation technology intended for the microscope? To obtain long-term stable therapeutic effects,is it much easier to achieve maximum tooth preservation and retinal protection and maintain periodontal tissue and oral function health under microscopic vision?Whether the microscopic prosthodontics is a gimmick or a breakthrough in obtaining an ideal tooth preparation should be resolved in microscopic tooth preparation. This article attempts to illustrate the concept, core elements, and indications of microscopic minimally invasive tooth preparation, physiological basis of dental pulp, periodontium and functions involved in tool preparation, position ergonomics and visual basis for dentists, comparison of tooth preparation by naked eyes and a microscope, and comparison of different designs of microscopic minimally invasive tooth preparation techniques.Furthermore,a clinical protocol for microscopic minimally invasive tooth preparation based on target restorative space guide plate has been put forward and new insights on the quantity and shape of microscopic minimally invasive tooth preparation has been provided. | Haiyang Yu Yuwei Zhao Junying Li Tian Luo Jing Gao Hongchen Liu Weicai Liu Feng Liu Ke Zhao Fei Liu Chufan Ma Juergen MSetz Shanshan Liang Lin Fan Shanshan Gao Zhuoli Zhu Jiefei Shen Jian Wang Zhimin Zhu Xuedong Zhou | 2019 | International Journal of Oral Science2019,11,4: | 25
Common dental diseases in children and malocclusion显示文摘Malocclusion is a worldwide dental problem that influences the affected individuals to varying degrees. Many factors contribute to the anomaly in dentition, including hereditary and environmental aspects. Dental caries, pulpal and periapical lesions, dental trauma, abnormality of development, and oral habits are most common dental diseases in children that strongly relate to malocclusion. Management of oral health in the early childhood stage is carried out in clinic work of pediatric dentistry to minimize the unwanted effect of these diseases on dentition. This article highlights these diseases and their impacts on malocclusion in sequence. Prevention, treatment, and management of these conditions are also illustrated in order to achieve successful oral health for children and adolescents, even for their adult stage. | Jing Zou Mingmei Meng Clarice S Law Yale Rao Xuedong Zhou | 2018 | International Journal of Oral Science2018,10,2: | 16
Underwater explosion in centrifuge partⅠ:Validation and calibration of scaling laws显示文摘Centrifuge is a promising tool for underwater explosion(UNDEX) research as both Mach and Froude similitudes could be satisfied with hyper-gravity in models, which would result in similarities in both shock wave and bubble oscillation. Scaling laws for UNDEX in centrifuge have been proposed based on dimensional analysis. Two dimensionless numbers, i.e.,π_3 and π_4, are used to characterize shock wave and bubble oscillation, respectively. To validate scaling laws, 17 UNDEX tests are designed by varying accelerations or explosive weights and positions in centrifuge. The tests are classified into different groups to validate scaling laws as well as calibrate coefficients in empirical formulae for both shock wave and bubble oscillation. The results show that changes of gravity acceleration or hydrodynamic pressure almost has no influence on shock wave peak pressure and time constant as long as π3 is constant. The dimensionless bubble period and maximum radius agreed with each other when π4 is constant. Based on the research, an example is exhibited to suggest method for the computation of initial loading conditions for a submerged obstacle subjected to UNDEX. | HU Jing CHEN ZuYu ZHANG XueDong WEI YingQi LIANG XiangQian LIANG JianHui MA GuoWei WANG QiuSheng LONG Yuan | 2017 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2017,60,11: | 14
Underwater explosion in centrifuge Part Ⅱ:Dynamic responses of defensive steel plate显示文摘Part II of this paper is focused on the dynamic response of a steel plate of the centrifuge model which is fixed on the container. This plate is 5 cm thick, allowing for non-destructive elastic response to all the 19 blasts. Three accelerators and 10 sets of strain gauges are installed on the plate to monitor the acceleration and deformation histories induced by shock waves and bubble oscillations. This article presents the characteristic values measured for shock waves and bubble oscillations response. The detailed information can be found in a database available on the web. In order to obtain the correct acceleration time history, the cut-off frequency of low-pass filtering by Fourier transformation was applied. The results indicated that the acceleration and strain induced by shock wave was nearly unaffected by the increasing gravity, while the effect of gravity has remarkable influence on those induced by bubble oscillation. A preliminary study of comparing the measured dynamic response with numerical simulations has been carried out using ANSYS LS-DYNA. The results captured the dynamic response in terms of characteristics and trends, but deviated in magnitude due the theoretical and technological limitations involved in both the physical and numerical models. It certainly deserves further studies. | LONG Yuan ZHOU HongYuan LIANG XiangQian SONG Ge CHEN ZuYu HU Jing WANG QiuSheng ZHANG XueDong LIANG JianHui HUANG ZhiJie | 2017 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2017,60,12: | 8
Lipid metabolism in cartilage and its diseases:a concise review of the research progress显示文摘The homeostasis of the vertebrate body depends on anabolic and catabolic activities that are closely linked the inside and outside of the cell.Lipid metabolism plays an essential role in these metabolic activities.Although a large amount of evidence shows that normal lipid metabolism guarantees the conventional physiological activities of organs in the vertebrate body and that abnormal lipid metabolism plays an important role in the occurrence and deterioration of cardiovascular-related diseases, such as obesity, atherosclerosis, and type II diabetes, little is known about the role of lipid metabolism in cartilage and its diseases. This review aims to summarize the latest advances about the function of lipid metabolism in cartilage and its diseases including osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and cartilage tumors. With the gradual in-depth understanding of lipid metabolism in cartilage, treatment methods could be explored to focus on this metabolic process in various cartilage diseases. | Yueyi Yang Jieya Wei Jiachi Li Yujia Cui Xuedong Zhou Jing Xie | 2021 | Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2021,53,5: | 7
Berberine mediates root remodeling in an immature tooth with apical periodontitis by regulating stem cells from apical papilla differentiation显示文摘Once pulp necrosis or apical periodontitis occurs on immature teeth, the weak root and open root apex are challenging to clinicians.Berberine(BBR)is a potential medicine for bone disorders, therefore,we proposed to apply BBR in root canals to enhance root repair in immature teeth. An in vivo model of immature teeth with apical periodontitis was established in rats, and root canals were filled with BBR,calcium hydroxide or sterilized saline for 3 weeks. The shape of the roots was analyzed by micro-computed tomography and histological staining. In vitro,BBR was introduced into stem cells from apical papilla(SCAPs).Osteogenic differentiation of stem cells from apical papilla was investigated by alkaline phosphatase activity, mineralization ability, and gene expression of osteogenic makers. The signaling pathway, which regulated the osteogenesis of SCAPs was evaluated by quantitative real time PCR,Western blot analysis, and immunofluorescence. In rats treated with BBR,more tissue was formed, with longer roots, thicker root walls, and smaller apex diameters. In addition,we found that BBR promoted SCAPs osteogenesis in a time-dependent and concentration-dependent manner.BBR induced the expression ofβ-catenin and enhancedβ-catenin entering into the nucleus,to up-regulate more runt-related nuclear factor 2 downstream.BBR enhanced root repair in immature teeth with apical periodontitis by activating the canonical Wnt/β-catenin pathway in SCAPs. | Yujia Cui Jing Xie Yujie Fu Chuwen Li Liwei Zheng Dingming Huang Changchun Zhou Jianxun Sun Xuedong Zhou | 2020 | International Journal of Oral Science2020,12,2: | 5
Expert consensus on early childhood caries management显示文摘Early childhood caries(ECC)is a significant chronic disease of childhood and a rising public health burden worldwide.ECC may cause a higher risk of new caries lesions in both primary and permanent dentition, affecting lifelong oral health. The occurrence of ECC has been closely related to the core microbiome change in the oral cavity, which may be influenced by diet habits, oral health management, fluoride use,and dental manipulations. So,it is essential to improve parental oral health and awareness of health care,to establish a dental home at the early stage of childhood, and make an individualized caries management plan.Dental interventions according to the minimally invasive concept should be carried out to treat dental caries. This expert consensus mainly discusses the etiology of ECC,caries-risk assessment of children, prevention and treatment plan of ECC,aiming to achieve lifelong oral health. | Jing Zou Qin Du Lihong Ge Jun Wang Xiaojing Wang Yuqing Li Guangtai Song Wei Zhao Xu Chen Beizhan Jiang Yufeng Mei Yang Huang Shuli Deng Hongmei Zhang Yanhong Li Xuedong Zhou | 2022 | International Journal of Oral Science2022,14,3: | 5

The role of TGF-beta3 in cartilage development and osteoarthritis显示文摘Articular cartilage serves as a low-friction,load-bearing tissue without the support with blood vessels, lymphatics and nerves, making its repair a big challenge.Transforming growth factor-beta 3(TGF-β3),a vital member of the highly conserved TGF-βsuperfamily,plays a versatile role in cartilage physiology and pathology.TGF-β3 influences the whole life cycle of chondrocytes and mediates a series of cellular responses, including cell survival, proliferation, migration, and differentiation.Since TGF-β3 is involved in maintaining the balance between chondrogenic differentiation and chondrocyte hypertrophy, its regulatory role is especially important to cartilage development.Increased TGF-β3 plays a dual role:in healthy tissues,it can facilitate chondrocyte viability, but in osteoarthritic chondrocytes,it can accelerate the progression of disease.Recently,TGF-β3 has been recognized as a potential therapeutic target for osteoarthritis(OA)owing to its protective effect, which it confers by enhancing the recruitment of autologous mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs)to damaged cartilage. However, the biological mechanism of TGF-β3 action in cartilage development and OA is not well understood. In this review,we systematically summarize recent progress in the research on TGF-β3 in cartilage physiology and pathology, providing up-to-date strategies for cartilage repair and preventive treatment. | Xinmei Du Linyi Cai Jing Xie Xuedong Zhou | 2023 | Bone Research2023,11,1: | 3

Electrospun Semiconductor-Based Nano-Heterostructures for Photocatalytic Energy Conversion and Environmental Remediation:Opportunities and Challenges显示文摘Harvesting solar energy to drive the semiconductor photocatalysis offers a promising tactic to address ever-growing challenges of both energy shortage and environmental pollution.Design and synthesis of nano-heterostructure photocatalysts with controllable components and morphologies are the key factors for achieving highly efficient photocatalytic processes.Onedimensional(1D)semiconductor nanofibers produced by electrospinning possess a large ratio of length to diameter, high ratio of surface to volume, small grain sizes, and high porosity, which are ideally suited for photocatalytic reactions from the viewpoint of structure advantage. After the secondary treatment of these nanofibers through the solvothermal, gas reduction,in situ doping,or assembly methods, the multi-component nanofibers with hierarchical nano-heterostructures can be obtained to further enhance their light absorption and charge carrier separation during the photocatalytic processes. In recent years, the electrospun semiconductorbased nano-heterostructures have become a“hot topic”in the fields of photocatalytic energy conversion and environmental remediation. This review article summarizes the recent progress in electrospinning synthesis of various kinds of high-performance semiconductor-based nano-heterostructure photocatalysts for H2 production,CO_(2) reduction, and decomposition of pollutants. The future perspectives of these materials are also discussed. | Na Lu Mingyi Zhang Xuedong Jing Peng Zhang Yongan Zhu Zhenyi Zhang | 2023 | Energy & Environmental Materials2023,6,2: | 1

One-step hydrothermal synthesis of S-defect-controlled ZnIn_(2)S_(4) microflowers with improved kinetics process of charge-carriers for photocatalytic H_(2) evolution显示文摘Engineering lattice defects in two-dimensional(2 D) sulfide semiconductors has been accepted as an effective strategy to enhance the efficiency of the solar-to-fuels conversion.Although many researches have proven the lattice defect-mediated photocatalytic activity of ZnIn_(2)S_(4),the artificial control of Sdefects for optimizing the charge-carrier kinetics process in ZnIn_(2)S_(4) has long been a challenging task.Herein,we report a facile one-step method to modulate the lattice S-content of ZnIn_(2)S_(4) microflowers(MFs) only through adjusting the used amount of S-precursor in the hydrothermal solution that contains the metal precursors with a fixed Zn/In stoichiometric ratio at 1:2.We also demonstrated that the Svacancies at the In facets were the main type of lattice defects in the formed ZnIn_(2)S_(4) MFs,which could enhance both the separation and migration processes of the photoinduced charge-carriers due to the existence of discrete defect energy-levels(DELs) and the reduced effective mass of electrons,as evidenced by the first-principles calculations and the electron spectra analyses. The ZnIn_(2)S_(4) MFs with the optimal content of S-vacancy obtained by a hydrothermal treatment of the precursors with the Zn/In/S stoichiometric ratio of 1:2:8 possessed the long-lived photoinduced electron(~94.64 ns) for contributing to the photo-physical and-chemical processes. Thus, upon visible light irradiation, the H_(2)-evolution rate of this sample reached ~2.40 mmol h^(-1) g^(-1) with an apparent quantum efficiency of ~0.16% at 420 nm even though only using 5 mg of photocatalysts without any cocatalysts. | Xuedong Jing Na Lu Jindou Huang Peng Zhang Zhenyi Zhang | 2021 | Journal of Energy Chemistry2021,30,7: | 1

Performance Analysis of Compound Parabolic Concentration Photothermal and Photoelectricity Device for Soil Heating in Facility Agriculture显示文摘It is difficult for solanum crops to grow continuously during winter in severe cold regions. Thus, a soil heating system for facility agriculture based on solar concentration technology was proposed, and a novel compound parabolic concentration photothermal and photoelectricity device(CTPV) equipped in the system was designed to address this problem. In accordance with the structure of the device, LightTools optical software was selected to analyze the variation trend of the light escape rate of the device with the diff erent incident angles. On the basis of the calculation results, an experimental test system was used to investigate the relationship of the air temperature of the inlet and the outlet, total output power of the solar cells, and photothermal and photoelectricity efficiency of the device with the operation time during a sunny day. Research results reveal that the light escape rate of the device is 5.36% at an incidence angle of 12°. At a velocity of 1.5 m/s, the maximum air temperature of the outlet can reach 55.6 ℃, and the total output power of the solar cells is 474.4 W. The variation of the total power of the solar cells is consistent with the simulation results. The maximum instantaneous heat collection and the maximum photothermal and photoelectricity efficiency of the device are 306 W and 60.4%, respectively, and the average efficiency is 44.9%. This study can serve as a reference for compound parabolic concentration technology applied for soil heating in facility agricultural soil heating systems. | Zehui Chang Yanan Peng Xuedong Liu Jing Hou Shuaijun Guo | 2022 | Transactions of Tianjin University2022,28,2: | 1
