| 1 | LHD1,an Allele of DTH8/Ghd8,Controls Late Heading Date in Common Wild Rice (Oryza rufipogon)显示文摘Flowering at suitable time is very important for plants to adapt to complicated environments and produce their seeds successfully for reproduction.In rice (Oryza rufipogon Griff.) photoperiod regulation is one of the important factors for controlling heading date.Common wild rice,the ancestor of cultivated rice,exhibits a late heading date and a more sensitive photoperiodic response than cultivated rice.Here,through map-based cloning,we identified a major quantitative trait loci (QTL) LHD1 (Late Heading Date 1),an allele of DTH8/Ghd8,which controls the late heading date of wild rice and encodes a putative HAP3/NF-YB/CBF-A subunit of the CCAAT-box-binding transcription factor.Sequence analysis revealed that several variants in the coding region of LHD1 were correlated with a late heading date,and a further complementary study successfully rescued the phenotype.These results suggest that a functional site for LHD1 could be among those variants present in the coding region.We also found that LHD1 could down-regulate the expression of several floral transition activators such as Ehd1,Hd3a and RFT1 under long-day conditions,but not under short-day conditions.This indicates that LHD1 may delay flowering by repressing the expression of Ehd1,Hd3a and RFT1 under long-day conditions. | Xiaodong Dai Younian Ding Lubin Tan Yongcai Fu Fengxia Liu Zuofeng Zhu Xianyou Sun Xuewen Sun Ping Gu Hongwei Cai Chuanqing Sun | 2012 | Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2012,54,10: | 23 |
| 2 | Construction of a recombinant lentivirus containing human microRNA-7-3 and its inhibitory effects on glioma proliferation显示文摘In the present study, we constructed a lentivirus, FIV-CMV-GFP-miR-7-3, containing the microRNA-7-3 gene and the green fluorescent protein gene, and used it to transfect human glioma U251 cells. Fluorescence microscopy showed that 80% of U251 cells expressed green fluorescence. Real-time reverse transcription PCR showed that microRNA-7-3 RNA expression in U251 cells was significantly increased. Proliferation was slowed in transfected U251 cells, and most cells were in the G 1 phase of the cell cycle. In addition, the expression of the serine/threonine protein kinase 2 was decreased. | 3 | Research on controllable alkaline soil degradation of 5-substituted chlorsulfuron显示文摘Sulfonylurea(SU) has become one class of the most important herbicides worldwide due to their ultralow application rate and mammalian toxicity. Recently application licenses of 3 classical SU herbicides chlorsulfuron, metsulfuron-methyl and ethametsulfuron were suspended due to their undesirable long persistence which is incompatible with the particular rotation planting system in China. Our previous study has discovered that electron-donating groups, especially dimethylamino and diethylamino substituents, on the 5 th position of the benzene ring in chlorsulfuron, greatly accelerated its degradation rate in an acidic soil(p H 5.41). Owing to the natural slower degradation of SUs in alkaline soil,dimethylamino and diethylamino substituted chlorsulfuron Ia and Ib were further studied in an alkaline soil(p H 8.46) with chlorsulfuron as a control. The experimental data indicated that the half-life of degradation(DT_(50)) of Ia was 3.36 days while Ib was 6.25 days which amounted to 30 and 15 folds faster than chlorsulfuron(DT_(50)84.53 days), respectively. The research confirmed that our newly-designed structures Ia and Ib can hasten their degradation rate in alkaline soil as well as in acidic soil. | 8 | Correlation between X-ray cross-complementing group 1 polymorphisms and the onset risk of glioma A meta-analysis显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the association of X-ray cross-complementing group 1(XRCC1)Arg399Gln,Arg194Trp and Arg280His polymorphisms with the risk of glioma.DATA SOURCES:A systematic literature search of papers published from January 2000 to August2012 in PubMed,Embase,China National Knowledge Infrastructure database,and Wanfang database was performed.The key words used were'glioma','polymorphism',and'XRCC1 or X-ray repair cross-complementing group 1'.References cited in the retrieved articles were screened manually to identify additional eligible studies.STUDY SELECTION:Studies were identified according to the following inclusion criteria:case-control design was based on unrelated individuals;and genotype frequency was available to estimate an odds ratio(OR)and 95%confidence interval(CI).Meta-analysis was performed for the selected studies after strict screening.Dominant and recessive genetic models were used and the relationship between homozygous mutant genotype frequencies and mutant gene frequency and glioma incidence was investigated.We chose the fixed or random effect model according to the heterogeneity to calculate OR and 95%CI,and sensitivity analyses were conducted.Publication bias was examined using the inverted funnel plot and the Egger’s test using Stata 12.0 software.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES:Association of XRCC1 Arg399Gln,Arg194Trp,and Arg280His polymorphisms with the risk of glioma,and subgroup analyses were performed according to different ethnicities of the subjects.RESULTS:Twelve articles were included in the meta-analysis.Eleven of the articles were concerned with the Arg399Gln polymorphism and glioma onset risk.Significantly increased glioma risks were found only in the dominant model(Gln/Gln+Gln/Arg versus Arg/Arg:OR=1.26,95%CI=1.03-1.54,P=0.02).In the subgroup analysis by ethnicity,significantly increased risk was found in Asian subjects in the recessive(OR=1.46,95%CI=1.04-2.45,P=0.03)and dominant models(OR=1.40,95%CI=1.10-1.78,P=0.007),and homozygote contrast(OR=1.69,95%CI=1.17-2.45,P=0.005),but not in Caucasian subjects.For association of the Arg194Trp(eight studies)and Arg280His(four studies)polymorphisms with glioma risk,the meta-analysis did not reveal a significant effect in the allele contrast,the recessive genetic model,the dominant genetic model,or homozygote contrast.CONCLUSION:The XRCC1 Arg399Gln polymorphism may be a biomarker of glioma susceptibility,especially in Asian populations.The Arg194Trp and Arg280His polymorphisms were not associated with overall glioma risk. | Xinquan Gu Hongyan Sun Liping Chang Ran Sun Hongfeng Yang Xuewen Zhang Xianling Cong | 2013 | Neural Regeneration Research2013,8,26: | 1 |

| 11 | Optimizing water-saving irrigation schemes for rice(Oryza sativa L.)using DSSAT-CERES-Rice model显示文摘Rice is one of the major crops in China,and enhancing the rice yield and water use efficiency is critical to ensuring food security in China.Determining how to optimize a scientific and efficient irrigation and drainage scheme by combining existing technology is currently a hot topic.Crop growth models can be used to assess actual or proposed water management regimes intended to increase water use efficiency and mitigate water shortages.In this study,a CERES-Rice model was calibrated and validated using a two-year field experiment.Four irrigation and drainage treatments were designed for the experiment:alternate wetting and drying(AWD),controlled drainage(CD),controlled irrigation and drainage for a low water level(CID1),and controlled irrigation and drainage for a high water level(CID2).According to the indicators normalized root mean square error(NRMSE)and index of agreement(d),the calibrated CERES-Rice model accurately predicted grain yield(NRMSE=6.67%,d=0.77),,shoot biomass(NRMSE=3.37%,d=0.77),actual evapotranspiration(ETa)(NRMSE=3.83%,d=0.74),irrigation volume(NRMSE=15.56%,d=0.94),and leaf area index(NRMSE=9.69%,d=0.98)over 2 a.The calibrated model was subsequently used to evaluate rice production in response to the four treatments(AWD,CD,CID1,and CID2)under 60 meteorological scenarios which were divided into wet years(22 a),normal years(16 a),and dry years(22 a).Results showed that the yield of AWD was the largest among four treatments in different hydrological years.Relative to that of AWD,the yield of CD,CID1,and CID2 were respectively reduced by 5.7%,2.6%,8.7%in wet years,9.2%,2.3%,8.6% in normal years,and 9.2%,3.8%,3.9% in dry years.However,rainwater use efficiency and irrigation water use efficiency were the greatest for CID2 in different hydrological years.The entropy-weighting TOPSIS model was used to optimize the four water-saving irrigation schemes in terms of water-saving,labor-saving and high-yield,based on the simulation results of the CERES-Rice model in the past 60 a.These results showed that CID1 and AWD were optimal in the wet years,CID1 and CID2 were optimal in the normal and dry years.These results may provide a strong scientific basis for the optimization of water-saving irrigation technology for rice. | Shikai Gao Qiongqiong Gu Xuewen Gong Yanbin Li Shaofeng Yan Yuanyuan Li | 2023 | International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2023,16,2: | 0 |
