Heavy metal (Pb,Zn) uptake and chemical changes in rhizosphere soils of four wetland plants with different radial oxygen loss显示文摘Lead and Zn uptake and chemical changes in rhizosphere soils of four emergent-rooted wetland plants;Aneilema bracteatum,Cyperus alternifolius,Ludwigia hyssopifolia and Veronica serpyllifolia were investigated by two experiments:(1) rhizobag filled with 'clean' or metal-contaminated soil for analysis of Pb and Zn in plants and rhizosphere soils;and (2) applied deoxygenated solution for analyzing their rates of radial oxygen loss (ROL).The results showed that the wetland plants with different ROL rates had significant effects on the mobility and chemical forms of Pb and Zn in rhizosphere under flooded conditions. These effects were varied with different metal elements and metal concentrations in the soils.Lead mobility in rhizosphere of the four plants both in the 'clean' and contaminated soils was decreased, while Zn mobility was increased in the rhizosphere of the 'clean' soil, but decreased in the contaminated soil.Among the four plants,V.serpyllifolia, with the highest ROL,formed the highest degree of Fe plaque on the root surface, immobilized more Zn in Fe plaque, and has the highest effects on the changes of Zn form (EXC-Zn) in rhizosphere under both 'clean' and contaminated soil conditions. These results suggested that ROL of wetland plants could play an important role in Fe plaque formation and mobility and chemical changes of metals in rhizosphere soil under flood conditions. | Junxing Yang Zuoluo Ma Zhihong Ye Xueyan Guo Rongliang Qiu | 2010 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2010,22,5: | 11
Prediction of VIGS efficiency by the Sfold program and its reliability analysis in Gossypium hirsutum显示文摘Genetic transformation in some plant species, including cotton(Gossypium hirsutum), is hampered by laborious and time-consuming processes and often unachievable. Virus-induced gene silencing(VIGS) by double-stranded RNAs can serve as a reverse-genetics tool to determine gene function. However, knockdown levels vary greatly when using a tobacco rattle virus-based vector that carries different c DNA fragments of a gene. How to choose the optional target fragment for high interference efficiency is very challenging. Addressing this challenge requires increasing the efficacy of small interference RNA(si RNA) in target fragment. Here, we describe a method to assess VIGS efficiency by comparing the following parameters of si RNA in target sequence: the disruption energy of the target(DGdisruption), the differential stability of si RNA duplex ends(DSSE), and the internal stability at positions 9–14 of the si RNA antisense strand(AIS), which are calculated by Sfold program(http://gffzz01a2382fbe924301hu95vw5xucc6c60pw.ffgz.tsg.suse.edu.cn). We find that the si RNAs with low DGdisruption, high DSSE and high AIS have high activity and easily result in high VIGS efficiency by experimentally testing the actual knockdown levels of the four target genes, Gh PDS,Gh CLA1, Gh AOS1, and Gh CXE1 via choosing different target sequences for each gene. Therefore, the Sfold program can be used to analyze target sequences when carrying out VIGS design to increase gene-silencing effects in plants. | Xiaoyang Ge Jie Wu Chaojun Zhang Qianhua Wang Yuxia Hou Zuoren Yang Zhaoen Yang Zhenzhen Xu Ye Wang Lili Lu Xueyan Zhang Jinping Hua Fuguang Li | 2016 | Science Bulletin2016,61,7: | 2
Surface clogging process modeling of suspended solids during urban stormwater aquifer recharge显示文摘Aquifer recharge, which uses urban stormwater,is an effective technique to control the negative effects of groundwater overexploitation, while clogging problems in infiltration systems remain the key restricting factor in broadening its practice.Quantitative understanding of the clogging process is still very poor.A laboratory study was conducted to understand surface physical clogging processes, with the primary aim of developing a model for predicting suspended solid clogging processes before aquifer recharge projects start. The experiments investigated the clogging characteristics of different suspended solid sizes in recharge water by using a series of one-dimensional fine quartz sand columns. The results showed that the smaller the suspended particles in recharge water, the farther the distance of movement and the larger the scope of clogging in porous media.Clogging extents in fine sand were 1 cm,for suspended particle size ranging from 0.075 to 0.0385 mm,and 2 cm,for particles less than 0.0385 mm.In addition, clogging development occurred more rapidly for smaller suspended solid particles. It took 48,42,and 36 hr respectively, for large-,medium-,and small-sized particles to reach pre-determined clogging standards. An empirical formula and iteration model for the surface clogging evolution process were derived. The verification results obtained from stormwater recharge into fine sand demonstrated that the model could reflect the real laws of the surface clogging process. | Zijia Wang Xinqiang Du Yuesuo Yang Xueyan Ye | 2012 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2012,24,8: | 2

A novel long-term intravenous combined with local treatment with human amnion-derived mesenchymal stem cells for a multidisciplinary rescued uremic calciphylaxis patient and the underlying mechanism显示文摘Calciphylaxis is a rare disease characterized histologically by microvessel calcification and microthrombosis, with high mortality and no proven therapy. Here,we reported a severe uremic calciphylaxis patient with progressive skin ischemia, large areas of painful malodorous ulcers, and mummified legs.Because of the worsening symptoms and signs refractory to conventional therapies, treatment with human amnion-derived mesenchymal stem cells(hAMSCs)was approved.Preclinical release inspections of hAMSCs,efficacy, and safety assessment, including cytokine secretory ability, immunocompetence, tumorigenicity, and genetics analysis in vitro, were introduced. We further performed acute and long-term hAMSC toxicity evaluations in C57BL/6 mice and rats, abnormal immune response tests in C57BL/6 mice, and tumorigenicity tests in neonatal Balbc-nu nude mice. After the preclinical research, the patient was treated with hAMSCs by intravenous and local intramuscular injection and external supernatant application to the ulcers. When followed up to 15 months, the blood-based markers of bone and mineral metabolism improved, with skin soft tissue regeneration and a more favorable profile of peripheral blood mononuclear cells.Skin biopsy after 1-month treatment showed vascular regeneration with mature noncalcified vessels within the dermis, and 20 months later, the re-epithelialization restored the integrity of the damaged site.No infusion or local treatment-related adverse events occurred. Thus, this novel long-term intravenous combined with local treatment with hAMSCs warrants further investigation as a potential regenerative treatment for uremic calciphylaxis due to effects of inhibiting vascular calcification, stimulating angiogenesis and myogenesis,anti-inflammatory and immune modulation,multidifferentiation,re-epithelialization,and restoration of integrity. | Lianju Qin Jing Zhang Yujie Xiao Kang Liu Yugui Cui Fangyan Xu Wenkai Ren Yanggang Yuan Chunyan Jiang Song Ning Xiaoxue Ye Ming Zeng Hanyang Qian Anning Bian Fan Li Guang Yang Shaowen Tang Zhihong Zhang Juncheng Dai Jing Guo Qiang Wang Bin Sun Yifei Ge Chun Ouyang Xueqiang Xu Jing Wang Yaoyu Huang Hongqing Cui Jing Zhou Meilian Wang Zhonglan Su Yan Lu Di Wu Jingping Shi Wei Liu Li Dong Yinbing Pan Baiqiao Zhao Ying Cui Xueyan Gao Zhanhui Gao Xiang Ma Aiqin Chen Jie Wang Meng Cao Qian Cui Li Chen Feng Chen Youjia Yu Qiang Ji Zhiwei Zhang Mufeng Gu Xiaojun Zhuang Xiaolin Lv Hui Wang Yanyan Pan Ling Wang Xianrong Xu Jing Zhao Xiuqin Wang Cuiping Liu Ningxia Liang Changying Xing Jiayin Liu Ningning Wang | 2022 | Journal of Molecular Cell Biology2022,14,2: | 1
Seroprevalence of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)in patients with cancer and the impact of anti-tumor treatment on antibodies显示文摘Objective The aim of this study was to examine the seroprevalence of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)among patients with cancer and followed up changes in SARS-CoV-2-specific antibodies to explore the impact of anti-tumor treatment in patients. Methods Patients with cancer who visited the Outpatient Clinic of Oncology,Tongji Hospital,Tongji Medical College,Huazhong University of Science and Technology,Wuhan,China between March 9 and April 30,2020 were enrolled in this retrospective cohort study.SARS-CoV-2 immunoglobulin(Ig)G,IgM,and viral load at various time points during the disease course were determined. Results We examined the serological results of 779 patients with cancer. The overall seroprevalence(IgG-positive or IgM-positive)rate of SARS-CoV-2 was 3.4%.The probability of seropositivity was significantly higher in patients with gastric cancer than in those without gastric cancer(odds ratio:6.349,95%confidence interval:2.191–18.396).Follow-up data showed that SARS-CoV-2 IgM and IgG levels decreased and the polymerase chain reaction test result remained negative in seropositive patients with cancer. Conclusion This study investigated the seroprevalence of SARS-CoV-2 in coronavirus disease(COVID-19)-positive patients with cancer in Wuhan,China. The seropositivity in patients with cancer was lower than or similar to that in the general population.Irrespective of anti-tumor therapy, the levels of SARS-CoV-2 antibodies decreased in these patients.More studies are needed to better understand the impact of anti-tumor therapy on change in the levels of SARS-CoV-2 antibodies. | Bili Wu Bo Liu Xueyan Jiang Ye Yuan Wan Qin Kai Qin Qi Mei Li Zhang Huilan Zhang Guangyuan Hu Xianglin Yuan | 2021 | Oncology and Translational Medicine2021,7,3: | 0
Research of Constructing 3D Digital River Based on ArcEngine and SketchUp显示文摘With the development of the 3D GIS and the digital basin, it is important for us to deal with the rivers from the 3D space. Compared to traditional forms of 2D GIS, the 3D GIS system brings better user experience for us. After introducing the current development status of the 3D digital river, the paper proposes a novel method for constructing 3D digital river system. It explores the methods in 3D digital river modeling by SketchUp, driving 3D scene by ArcScene and secondary developing by ArcGIS Engine. It discusses the specific issues of 3D river modeling with a river in Nanjing, and sums up a complete 3D modeling of operational process. Finally, that proves the feasibility of the method. | Xueyan Tang Yuansheng Lou Feng Ye Xiaorong Yan | 2016 | 国际计算机前沿大会会议论文集2016,,1: | 0
Effects of flow velocity on water quality and ammonia excretion in recirculating aquaculture system culturing juvenile largemouth bass(Micropterus salmoides)显示文摘Flow velocity plays an important role in recirculating aquaculture systems(RAS)and the growing practice of culturing juvenile largemouth bass(Micropterus salmoides). In this study, the effects of flow velocity on the water quality as well as the ammonia excretion were discussed from the perspective of actual production, and a polynomial model of ammonia nitrogen excretion was established, using the juvenile largemouth bass. Results showed that the range of ammonia nitrogen and nitrite nitrogen decreased with flow velocity increasing, while the number and volume share of large particles increased.According to the polynomial model, compared with the medium flow velocity(11 cm/s,2.45 body length(bl)/s),the ammonia excretion of juvenile largemouth bass at high(18 cm/s,4.00 bl/s),and low(4 cm/s,0.90 bl/s)flow velocity changed faster with time, and the excretion rate peaked at the 6th hour after feeding, earlier than that under medium flow velocity. Therefore,it is suggested to increase the flow velocity at the 5th hour after feeding and then decreased it at the 10th hour,to ensure better water quality in RAS culturing juvenile largemouth bass. | Runguo Xiao Ganxiang Wang Zhenlei Chen Zhangying Ye Songming Zhu Xueyan Ding Fan Zhou Jianlin Guo Jian Zhao | 2022 | International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2022,15,5: | 0
NAND-SPIN-based processing-in-MRAM architecture for convolutional neural network acceleration显示文摘The performance and efficiency of running large-scale datasets on traditional computing systems exhibit critical bottlenecks due to the existing“power wall”and“memory wall”problems. To resolve those problems,processing-in-memory(PIM)architectures are developed to bring computation logic in or near memory to alleviate the bandwidth limitations during data transmission.NAND-like spintronics memory(NAND-SPIN)is one kind of promising magnetoresistive random-access memory(MRAM)with low write energy and high integration density, and it can be employed to perform efficient in-memory computation operations. In this study,we propose a NAND-SPIN-based PIM architecture for efficient convolutional neural network(CNN)acceleration.A straightforward data mapping scheme is exploited to improve parallelism while reducing data movements.Benefiting from the excellent characteristics of NAND-SPIN and in-memory processing architecture, experimental results show that the proposed approach can achieve~2.6×speedup and~1.4×improvement in energy efficiency over state-of-the-art PIM solutions. | Yinglin ZHAO Jianlei YANG Bing LI Xingzhou CHENG Xucheng YE Xueyan WANG Xiaotao JIA Zhaohao WANG Youguang ZHANG Weisheng ZHAO | 2023 | Science China(Information Sciences)2023,66,4: | 0

Effects of intelligent feedingmethod on the growth, immunity and stress of juvenile Micropterus salmoides显示文摘The feeding method is of great significance for aquaculture production and cost.In recent years, research on intelligent feeding,a method based on fish appetite, has been trending.Fewstudies, however, have focused on fish welfare issues that can result from intelligent feeding. In this study,an adaptive feeder based on a practical intelligent feeding method was designed to evaluate whether this intelligent feeding method would impair fish welfare compared to traditional automatic feeding. The results indicated that the amount of residual feed and size inhomogeneity in the traditional group was significantly higher than that in the intelligent group. The results of the growth indicator showed that theweight gain rate(WGR)in the intelligent feeding groupwas significantly higher(30.17%)than in the traditional feeding group.Although no significant differences were observed in the survival rate(SR),the condition factor(CF)and the hepatosomatic index(HSI),the specific growth rate(SGR)in the intelligent feeding group was significantly increased by 8.33%while the feed conversion rate(FCR)was reduced by a remarkable 17.07%compared to the traditional feeding group. Moreover, intelligent feeding significantly improved the pepsin activity of the bass.In terms of immunity and antioxidant capacity, however, the fish in the intelligent feeding group had a significantly lower lysozyme(LZM)level than those fed with the traditional method. For superoxide dismutase(SOD),the intelligent group also displayed a lower activity value, although it was not significant. The intelligent feeding group had 0.14 nmol/mg protein higher malondialdehyde(MDA)activity than the traditional group.Regarding stress, although no statistical significance was observed, the cortisol level in the intelligent group was 1.9 ng/ml higher than in the traditional group.Together, these data suggested that the intelligent feeding method can significantly improve fish growth but may also result in stress and suppress innate immunity. | Dan Wei Fengdeng Zhang Zhangying Ye Songming Zhu Daxiong Ji Jian Zhao Fan Zhou Xueyan Ding | 2021 | Artificial Intelligence in Agriculture2021,,1: | 0
